Absolutely incredible meal, one of the best (if not the best) meals I've ever had. Washed down by an incredible seasonal cocktail. I cannot recommend higher! And the prices were reasonable too! My only slight downside was the tables were so low I couldn't get my legs under , so had to adopt a slightly awkward seating position

Amazing food in a charming rustic barn. Dining at Paternoster Farm was a delightful experience. The food was fantastic, each dish bursting with flavour from the freshest local ingredients. We indulged in crab butter with sourdough, a rich wild mushroom risotto with aioli, plaice papillote, a vibrant tomato and mozzarella pesto salad, beetroot and ricotta salad, and braised beef with green beans and fir apple potatoes. Every bite was a treat (especially the crab butter). The set menu, priced at £48 per person, is great value for the quality of food. While dessert was available for an additional cost, we were very full after the meal and couldn't find room for it... Perhaps next time!

Lovely food and great atmosphere. However, food for two people was served on a single plate, rather than individual portions, and at times it felt like we were sharing a single (rather small) meal. The fish in particular would have been small even for one, and felt like it may have been a mistake. We also ordered a non-alcoholic wine, which was poor in comparison to other non alcoholic wines. Individual portions and a better no/low alcohol wine option would make this 5 stars.

a fantastic experience which is down to the charming staff, experimental (yet homely) food, and utterly unique setting. the place was buzzing, with being quickly seated, easy parking, reasonable prices, and many intriguing courses

Horrendous experience at this restaurant. Despite arriving on time, we were made to wait 15 minutes before being seated, with no apologies from the staff. The menu was not explained, and they didn't bother checking for allergies or dietary restrictions. To top it off, we were served on dirty plates and chipped bowls. After waiting 30 minutes for our mains, we decided to walk out, having only received half of our set menu. When we asked for the check, we explained we wouldn't pay for uneaten items, but they refused to reduce the bill until we threatened to leave without paying. To make matters worse, we witnessed the cook/owner drinking on the job, and not a single apology was offered for the abysmal service. The staff even lied about our reservation time, claiming we were early, despite our confirmation stating otherwise. As if that wasn't enough, prices have skyrocketed, with the set menu now a whopping £45 for meager offerings. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place.

This is an excellent place to go and enjoy wonderfully cooked food. A wonderful, thoughtful menu, that while short will still have you struggling over what to order. My partner opted for the braised cabbage with gochujang, crispy chilli and katusuobushi. I went straight for the whipped Wye Valley Smokery cod roe with sea weed crisps. When these were brought to the table a delightfully flavoured focaccia with big pat's of salty Welsh butter arrived to, this was when we knew it was going to be a very enjoyable evening meal! Our other orders arrived shortly after we'd finished the bread and the cod's roe. I had opted for the braised lamb with cannelini beans, feta and dill which might well be the meal of the holiday for me! Then the mussels in Tom Yum broth arrived. There was a mountain of them. This was a sharing platter size of mussels in my eyes, but not my partner's mind! Both were excellent, the flavours in each dish worked so well and a quiet descended upon the table as we both just tucked in to our dishes. Going back to the lamb, it was cooked beautifully, super tender and the beans feta and dill was just heavenly. I thoroughly enjoyed this and shamelessly used a spoon to scrape every last morsel from the bowl. Delightful! The mussels we're good to, if you've never had them in a Tom Yum broth before (we hadn't!) and you get the opportunity to try them, do! The mussels themselves were great, the broth too, the sheer number of them at that price point was bliss, we picked out way through them all (no closed shells!) and persevered with the broth. We didn't quite finish it, we had an eye on desert. Desert almost didn't happen because the portions are generous and the food is so heartwarming you feel comfortably full quickly, but we agreed to split a desert between us. The icecream it was, one scoop of salted chocolate and one scoop of marsala and vanilla. ........heck that was delicious! A beautiful way to end our meal but we were now stuffed. We got the bill and were happy to see how reasonable the meal was. We both guessed the bill would be higher and would have been happy to pay more given the quality of the food the service and the environment. We ordered two smaller plates, two larger plates, split a desert, one alocholic cocktail* and one soft drink. There was water on the table and the bread as well. Before a tip this was about £35pp which is incredible! *How did I forget the cocktail! A lemon verbena, their drink of the day was lovely, honey sweet and definitely not for some palates but presented beautifully and got better as the large single ice cube melted. What else is there to say? This is a destination restaurant, go out of your way to visit. Book a table, you won't get the opportunity to drop in, it's very popular, the only time slot we could get was at 9pm which gave us the opportunity to drink in a lovely sunset for going for a late dinner. 100% would recommend, will visit again. Use What3Words and not your SatNav to find it, but all the same it is fairly easy to find.

Had a completely delicious dinner at Paternoster Farm. The ambience and service were lovely and the quality of the food was outstanding. They were able to accommodate my husband's food allergy which we also really appreciated.

Paternoster farm is an amazing place . What they do is excellent . Flavours in every mouthful. Delicious ,quality food . Understated surroundings just add to the delight . This is a very special place . Highlights are all of it ! Excellent blood orange margharita, focacia bread i can't resist salty and so light . The winter radicio salad, with a citrus vegetable. A small but perfect flavourful plaice course. The kale and buffalo was substantial just slow cooked and tender all so flavourful. Thank you !
