The Best Biryanis in London | Eater London

"Chef and owner Ameer Kutty has been running this humble restaurant for about eight years, which offers a taste of Malabari biryani. Abundant with raisins and cashew nuts, this dum-style biryani is rich in fried onions, and layers of white, yellow, and orange peek through thanks to the ground masala of the standard biryani spices. Also cooked in an aluminium vessel, the biryani is served with boiled egg, raita, pappadam, and lemon pickle. Delicately spiced, it is perfect for those who prefer something light." - Advika Reddy

Pathiri Restaurant in Gillingham, Kent, offers a South Indian dining experience that has garnered mixed reviews from patrons. Only briyani & chicken fry and parrota good. One of the worst crap gravy tried ever like paper folded crap , not crunchy one

We ordered a range of dishes online. Delivery was prompt and the portions were generous. Being very well acquainted with (South) Indian cuisine we were very disappointed with the lack of taste; every single dish contains so much chilli that it drains out every nuance of taste in potentially delicious dishes. Spicy is nice when balanced by taste; sorry to say this was lacking.

We went to Pathiri on Vishu to enjoy the Sadya, and it was absolutely delicious! Loved the flavors and authenticity. We enjoyed it so much that we went back again yesterday for their Easter Sadya—and honestly, the food was even better the second time. 😄 We also regularly order their Chicken Biryani, which never disappoints. The dine-in experience is lovely too—clean, cozy, and the staff (including the owner) are always polite and welcoming. Highly recommend if you’re craving good Kerala food in Gillingham!

We came here at 10:50am to enjoy the breakfast menu but they were not open yet and said they open from 11:30am onwards. Maybe the owners need to revise their opening times and remove a post about breakfast buffet they put 2 weeks ago. This was written on 26/07/25. There was not much breakfast choices to choose from but I did try the massala dossa and idli. Whilst the food was cooked fresh and tasted great. The service was slow and could be better. I hope the owners take on board the feedback and can’t wait to go there again.

This is the best Indian restaurant in Gillingham. Most probably in entire Kent. First of all the customer service is above and beyond. We got 2 glasses of water as soon as we sat down and also received "warm" plates. After serving the food also the guy who served us followed up to check whether the food matches with our expectations or not. The atmosphere is also very nice inside. I've ordered Chicken koththu, kerala chai and chicken 65. All the food items were amazing. Chicken koththu is a MUST TRY dish I must say. Spicy flavor and the masala flavor is well balanced with shredded chicken. It is a masterpiece. Kerala chai is also really good. On the other day I've tried chicken biriyani, masala dosa, mango lassi and lemon juice. It was one of the best chicken biriyani I've ever had after come here UK. I hope they will keep the food quality and customer service as it is in the future as well. Love the place. ❤️❤️❤️

Best Porotta in Kent area Beef fry was excellent Beef curry was good too. Manthi and Alfham was tasty. Service was superb and price was reasonable. Reason I give three star for atmosphere is restaurant size is small and privacy for families is lacking when it’s busy
