"At Patio 44, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of ingredients used as well as the discreet and simple façade. This project was created by three friends, with chefs Simão Soares and Alfonso Ramos in charge of the kitchen – a partnership that developed from experience working together in a previous restaurant. Their cuisine is centred around traditional Portuguese cuisine enhanced by modern techniques and unique flavours. Standout dishes include the cod “punheta” with crunchy rice, followed by a vegetarian option (tofu and mushrooms with a mouthwatering demi-glace) and an impressive fresh cod prepared with a smooth chickpea purée. To finish, we highly recommend the spectacular “pão de ló” sponge cake fresh out of the oven, served with goat’s cheese ice-cream. The reasonable prices here are another pleasant surprise!" - Michelin Inspector

Patio44 was, quite simply, one of the standout meals of our trip to Porto – and honestly one of the best meals we’ve ever had. From the moment we sat down, the service struck the perfect balance, being warm, relaxed and genuinely attentive without ever feeling formal or overbearing. The menu is thoughtful and beautifully put together. The beef cheek deserves special mention – it was exceptional, deeply rich, perfectly cooked, and so memorable that we still talk about it today. Every course was flawless, letting high quality ingredients and technique do the talking. What made it all even more impressive was the value: for the level of cooking, service and overall experience, it felt outstandingly good. Patio44 is undoubtedly worthy of a Michelin Star. If you’re in Porto and wanting high quality, good value cooking, this is an absolute must-visit.

The best food in Porto. We had a table of 6 and everyone enjoyed their food immensely. The flavours are exceptional. Each dish was explained fully and made with such care. The service was perfect all evening. A beautiful place with amazing food.

Loved dining at Patio44! The food and service were wonderful, and made for a memorable and delicious meal in Porto. The team was so nice-- They made me feel like I was being welcomed to a family dining room! The ambiance is beautiful and relaxed, a very nice treat. Every dish was delicious, packed with flavor and beautiful presentation. Be sure to save room for dessert! ❤️ The pao de lo was delicious and so unique! Make a reservation because they book up quickly (and for good reason)!

Elegant and superb quality food, offering something a bit different, with some creative cooking and style. Beef cheek main and the white chocolate dessert (6€ felt amazing value!) were especially good. All at a great price considering the quality and served by friendly, relaxed staff. Highly recommended.

It wasn’t easy to get a table at the restaurant. I’m studying to become a chef, and during my trip to Porto it was very important for me to visit a good restaurant. After choosing this one, I opened The Fork and found out that the nearest available dinner slot was only in a month. I started to panic and didn’t know what to do, so I decided to write to them on Instagram, explain that I was just passing through the city, but really wanted to visit their restaurant. The answer came quickly. They said they had a free table between opening and their first reservation — for 1 hour and 20 minutes. I agreed immediately, and five minutes before the restaurant opened, I was already standing by the entrance. They greeted us very kindly, even warmly, I would say. We ordered: 1. Couvert (p/pax) - 3,50 € Pão massa-mãe, manteiga fumada caseira, mel do Gerês e azeite da Herdade do Esporão 2. Takoyaki de Pato - 8,00€ Presunto de pato, XO e mousse de fígados 3. Pato e Pimenta Verde - 18€ Peito de pato, puré de aipo e molho de pimenta verde 4. Bochecha e pêra - 17€ Bochecha de novilho, pêra, e beterraba At first, they brought us bread with olive oil, smoked butter, and honey with pollen. The honey with pollen really amazed us — it tasted like childhood. We even ordered a jar of it online right from the restaurant. Then came the starter — takoyaki. Everything in this dish was great: crispy takoyaki, soft mousse, and rich duck ham. For the main dishes, we had tender beef cheeks perfectly balanced with pear, and duck breast with smooth celery purée. The combination of fatty duck and light, creamy purée made the dish very harmonious. I probably ate my yearly amount of duck that evening, because at home I’m always too lazy to cook it, and in average restaurants they just don’t know how to make it right.

This is a great restaurant. Amazing food, wonderful service and very good value - it’s Michelin quality without the Michelin price tag. We would thoroughly recommend eating here - 10/10!!

What a fabulous restaurant! Everything was simply great! My wife and I were delighted to enjoy dinner there last night. The patio in the back was pretty, green, and serene. The menu is short, but absolutely everything we ordered had a unique, wonderful blend of flavors: carrot tartare, duck takoyaki, squid with beans, duck breast, beef cheeks, and the dessert / bread with goat cheese ice cream! (YUM!) They have a wine list with a good range of prices. Overall, the quality of the food is very high, and the prices are far more reasonable than many "fine dining" restaurants in Porto. Our server, Carolina, did an excellent job of suggesting the perfect wine to pair with our meal. The interior is also warm, beautiful, and not too crowded. We can't wait to go back. The entire staff was very welcoming, and made sure we had a memorable dining experience. Muito obrigado!

Exceptional in all aspects. Of we lived in Porto, we would be regular guests. Hospitable service, excellent food and presentation. Don't contemplate, just book.
