"Located in Vouliagmeni (an upmarket beach area on the shores of the Saronic Gulf just half an hour from Athens), this restaurant occupying a delightful internal patio in The Margi luxury hotel will come as a pleasant surprise. Here, in a verdant setting away from the centre of Athens, it is much easier to showcase the restaurant’s “From Farm to Fork” philosophy and concept. Chef Panagiotis Giakalis’ cuisine is presented on two tasting menus that champion modern Greek cooking of a high technical level, with particular emphasis on flavours from Greece and from the wider Mediterranean, wherever possible using ingredients (eggs, vegetables, fruit, olive oil, wine etc) sourced from their own estate. The covered side porch, the olive trees planted in huge pots, and the romantic candlelit ambience at night are particularly impressive, plus the hotel also owns a farm that guests can visit and enjoy a meal in beautiful natural surroundings." - Michelin Inspector

Athens: Top Restaurants for a Taste of New Greek Cuisine

"Set on the Athens Riviera within The Margi’s discreetly luxurious boutique hotel encircling a vast, lounger‑lined pool, this table offers a unique gastronomic experience that feels both modern and authentic. Chef Panagiotis Giakalis keeps things resolutely Greek, drawing on personal memories to reinterpret tavern and kafenion rituals: sea urchin salad arrives with an ouzo emulsion to evoke the Greek aperitif; Aegean cuttlefish is lifted by spinach pesto and the salinity of fish roe; and traditional suckling lamb comes with a comforting olive purée and ginger‑flavoured aubergines, before a nostalgic dessert of strawberries, vanilla and almonds. To rediscover natural flavors, the restaurant cultivates a huge vegetable garden on the plain of Attica and is now virtually self‑sufficient for vegetables, herbs and fruit—a virtuous approach recognized with a MICHELIN Green Star." - The MICHELIN Guide

Visited for dinner and had a lovely experience at Patio. The waiting staff were extremely attentive and very polite. The atmosphere is also very fitting, adding to the whole experience. All of the courses were very balanced and there was a clear idea behind the way the menu is constructed, from start to finish. There were also some very special surprises. All in all, well worth its Michelin star & green star.

This was truly an amazing dining experience. We indulged in their 9-step dinner option and were pleasantly overwhelmed with every bite, pure in flavor and wanting for more. Their wine pairing was exquisite and best of all was our waiter who walked us through the experience. Vast in knowledge and great to converse with. We even met the chef as he personally served one of the dishes prepared. This was a true Grecian gift and worth every euro.

What a fabulous culinary journey! We truly enjoyed our dinner at the Patio. The ingredients come straight from their own farm and they make a huge difference. The flavors were simply divine and so was the service. Don’t forget to pair the dishes with the wines to have a the full experience.

"A truly fine dining experience". An intimate, yet lively atmosphere, attentive and discrete personnel, a mellow and pleasant music "carpet". And all of this was just a perfectly orchestrated background of the fine dishes and wine that were served. Unique combinations of prime quality raw materials, well balanced combinations of proteins, vegetables, herbs and spices, executed with full attention to detail. A superb dining experience.

On our way in, we were slightly disappointed to realise that the restaurant was not located at the hotel’s pool area, but in a rather small and secluded space, although tastefully decorated. However, this was an extra reason to focus on the culinary part, which was an extremely pleasant surprise! We started by tasting the most delicious amuse-bouche ever, namely a παστέλι-like crunchy biscuit with fois gras, an unstoppable explosion of umami flavours! The whole menu was at very high standards of creativity and taste! We singled out the unparalleled matching of a sea urchin with a cocktail of iced masticha and lemon, the shrimps from Koilada, the perfectly cooked lobster with carrot, mango and beurre blanc, and the cod with sun-dried tomato and finocchio. The service by Maria and her colleague (apologies for not remembering his name) was simply impeccable. The carefully selected wines of the pairing gave us the opportunity to discover new labels that we loved, like the Milkro Altima Xinomavro/Negoska. Congratulations! You definitely deserve a better environment!

An over priced disaster! Went there for the Easter buffet and were utterly disappointed. Other than the overcooked dry lamb and the kokoretsi there was nothing else to honor the holiday or offer a bit of the Greek culinary experience on the biggest holiday. The rest of the food was a poor execution of "international" salads and meats. No vegetable options other than roasted, dripping-in-oil grilled veggies. Desert felt like it was brought in from the neighborhood pastry shop and the grapes in the fruit platter were spoiled. We paid top price for poor food and we were charged extra even for the water. Service was inadequate. Servers were just standing around and we had to ask for them to pick up the plates.

Went for Easter buffet. This was false advertising. It was an average/generic buffet with limited choice and only two Easter traditional dishes: overcooked ovelias and kokoretsi. They did not have lemon for ovelias. Is the chef Greek? Music was generic pop music. It was supposed to be a Greek Easter buffet - not a pop night. Overpriced with hidden charges. Valet parking we learned was charged but at a price that is at the discretion of the driver. You either charge and disclose a price or it is complimentary. Bottom line: this was not an Easter buffet - it was an expensive vanilla buffet!
