The 38 Best Restaurants in Markham, Ontario | Eater

"Pâtisserie Fleur is, in a word, gorgeous. If that’s not enough to persuade you to visit this cute pastry shop, here are three more: matcha crepe cake. The shop fuses French technique and Asian flavors, and like everything else here, the crepe cake is a wonder of aesthetics and baking. So are the eclairs, flawlessly crafted in flavors like rose lychee and pistachio strawberry. Even prettier is the cake made in the shape of a rose flower — it puts the “fleur” in Pâtisserie Fleur. While the sesame noir cake lacks the look of its peers, don’t let it deter you; the filling of sesame and Madagascar vanilla bean mousse, sesame paste, and sesame cookie will make your eyes roll to the back of your head. !!! NEVER ORDER CAKES FROM HERE (Look at the attached photos) !!! $78 (pre-tax) for terrible quality !!! I ordered a cake for my friend’s bridal shower (Saturday) and went to pick it up the evening prior - what I ordered and what I received are drastically different. This cake shop LITERALLY has a photo for reference and this is what I ended up with: 1) The shade of the flowers and leaves are not even the same - what is on their website is light, pastel, and floral while what I received was tacky neon orange, bright pink, and bright green. This level of quality is what I expect from very old supermarkets… 2) Just look at the piping of the leaves! It is not even the same shape! The pink ones are also very different - you can see where they stopped the piping bag and it looks like the work of a beginner who is learning how to use a piping bag. See how the orange “roses” are poorly made - the baker didn’t even care to clean off the edges and just treated it like side-layered icing. Speaking of cleaning edges, they didn’t even care to clean the green icing off of the edges that shouldn’t have green! 3) Why is the surface of icing uneven on the top and the sides?! Why does the decorative component take up half of the cake instead of one-third (like the photo)? On a Friday evening with no other cake shops that can accept an order for the following morning, I am forced to take this cake. It is utterly embarrassing that I have to bring this to a function - even more so when it is surrounded by family and friends of my good friend. I am willing to pay for a good cake because I know how competitive it is out there; and surely, there are so many other cake shops that can do a better job and we chose them because of what we saw on their website! This place is a scam!!! I did not even want to pick this up or pay for this, but then I will be left without a cake for my friend’s special day, so I am forced to accept - the baker and the manager were not available to speak to. Even if you gave me this ugly cake for free, it will not make up for the fact that I have to present this joke. Even if it was free, I will 100% pick another cake shop that will be able to do what they show. Would it be possible that they’re using an image of a cake that is not even theirs? Possibly, and that would be false advertising. Now, if you ask why didn’t I go check how it looks in-person before I ordered? All their cake styles are not always readily available for you to view. Don’t order from here or else you’ll be like me: stuck with this cheap-looking and gaudy cake right before an important event.

Ordered a birthday cake from here (matcha jasmine yuzu cake). They offer a green or pink colour of the cake, and we opted for the pink which came in a beautiful baby pink colour. In terms of flavour, cake wasn’t too sweet which was great and the mousse was light and airy. We wish the matcha flavour was stronger as the yuzu was way too strong. Not bad overall.

Google
PASTRY: they're all super cute and very creative, design wise and flavour wise. I'm so in love with Orange de Terre and Earl Grey Pear. They have amazing flavor combinations. The mango cloud is good too. Sesame Noir is not some flavor that I'm too familiar with so to me it's just interesting but not the best. SERVICE: the staff were patient and friendly. VIBE: super nice store. Interior gives a very upscale and elegant vibe. The place is really clean.

Google
After walked in, 2 staffs were talking without greeting nor serving until 5 minutes later though we were the only 2 customers in the store. When serving, she was nice. Earl grey pear cake looks and tastes good. Just after cutting started, the top of the cake kinda sinking a bit as the pear inside is causing it. Overall, I still give 4 stars.

I tried their mini cakes and I loved it! The flavours were very delicious and it wasn’t too sweet which was perfect for me. Definitely will be coming back for more.

I ordered the Matcha Jasmine Yuzu cake for my mom’s birthday and it was absolutely delicious! Honestly, one of the best cakes my family and I have ever had (and that’s saying a lot because I don’t even like cake). The matcha flavor was rich and deep, with a delicate hint of jasmine and yuzu that came through beautifully. It was light, not overly sweet, and so easy to enjoy—we ended up finishing the whole cake in one sitting. The ordering process was seamless too. I placed the order two weeks in advance and called a couple of days before pickup to confirm. The customer service was excellent—super friendly and helpful both over the phone and in person at pickup.

Recently order some little cakes for a birthday online. Preordering makes it easy but they do also have many available in store. Cakes were light and fluffy, not overly sweet and had many options to choose from. I ordered the sesame noir amazing for black sesame lovers. Mango cloud mini - nice light mango mouse. Matcha Jasmin Yuzu which was a household favourite. But for me the Heart Peach Oolong tofu was my fave. Hint of cheesecake but silky tofu peach flavour. Wasn’t my first time here but will comment that their quality has been consistent. Definitely a must try.

Rosy Earl Grey Pear Cake and match yuzu are so impressive! Tea flavour combined with fruit! Very fresh taste and not too sweet! The service is great as well!

Yelp
I have been on a macaron kick for a few weeks now. I decided to get some macarons from Patisserie Fleur after work on an early Tuesday evening. This bakery is in downtown Markham. I have eyed this place for years and finally dropped by. It's across from The Origin where the Cineplex VIP theatre is. I parked in the lot on the northwest corner of Andre de Grasse Street and Enterprise Boulevard, next to Grande Burrito that used to be Copper Branch. Parking is free. It's steps away from Patisserie Fleur. It's such a charming bakery. I saw croissants in the display case to my left that I wanted to devour. The seating area was cozy and clean design-wise. There were two women behind the counter. They said hi. They were kind to let me take a look at everything in the display cases before I made any decisions. This store had Korean macarons. Perfect! I got a mixed box. The desserts look beautiful and yummy. I also got heart peach oolong tofu cheesecake. I paid with a credit card. Prices are on the higher side. My heart cheesecake was $8.50 and my box of five Korean macarons were $19.50. I will say that the packaging is awesome. I have a feeling that the price takes into account the premium boxes that my items were safely in. They were classy and nice. I thanked the woman who helped me with my order. I grabbed my goodies and walked back to my car. I then headed home. I had the heart peach oolong tofu cheesecake. It was so good. It was slightly sweet, which I appreciated. The peach flavour was perfect. The cheesecake was smooth. You can't tell that it's tofu. I brought in the macarons for my friend and me to enjoy at work. The mix box had these flavours: - Strawberry - Mango - Pistachio - Earl grey - Matcha I remembered to bring a knife into work. No, I'm not a violent person seeking revenge on an evil colleague. It was to split each macaron, so we could taste each one. We went with the earl grey first. The tea flavour was subtle. It had more of a lemon flavour. The flavour strengths should have been reversed. We loved the strawberry. It tasted like a strawberry milkshake. So good! The matcha had a strong, bold matcha tea flavour. I probably liked it more than my friend. We both loved the mango and pistachio. This place does fruit fillings so well. The mango was bright and fresh. The pistachio was delicious. This place also has drinks. I hope to consume one the next time that I'm there. I loved everything that I sampled. It's nice getting special baked goods from this place from time to time. It runs on the expensive side, but it makes sense giving the quality of ingredients that comprise these yummy delicacies. I'll be back for more, but it won't be weekly. (441)

Yelp
We decided to swing by for dessert before a movie across the street. There were only a few tables inside but it wasn't busy so we were able to find a seat right away. We ordered the matcha yuzu and double chocolate cake. For drinks we ordered a lychee soda and osmanthus tea. We got our cakes immediately but the drinks took some time to make. The cakes looked beautiful and tasted not too sweet, however, there was a tad too much cream for my liking. The drinks were very refreshing on a hot summer day. It is a casual cafe that's not noisy so good place to catch up with a friend. The decor is quite aesthetic making it a nice spot to take photos. I would return to try the other items on the menu!

Yelp
Lovely little bakery right across from the Markham VIP Cineplex. I actually came here yopick up a Toogoodtogo bag but will definitely come back to purchase their cakes and baked goods. I had the matcha croissant, a small rose pear cake and small matcha yuzu cake. Please dont mind the picture of the cakes, they are a little imperfect because I dropped my box Matcha croissant: super flaky and filled with a delicious matcha cream inside. Also had a matcha "cookie" baked on top Rose pear cake: nice and moist, had chunks of pear with a subtle rose mousse Matcha yuzu cake: very refreshing and cutely designed! The staff were very friendly. Looking forward to grabbing some baked goods here in the future!

Yelp
Excitedly visited here after checking their cake line-up. It sounded like they have very unique French cakes with Asian-inspired twist. But unfortunately, all cakes were disappointing. We bought: - Sesame Noir - Earl Grey Pear - Strawberry Shortcake - Matcha Yuzu I do not go into the details of each cake, because all the cakes had the same, monotonous texture. The flavors may be different, but those flavors were simply folded into the cream. The amount of cream was just too much and we cannot finish none of the cakes. Just impossible to keep putting heavy cream in my mouth - overwhelmed by the layer after layer of heavy creams - I did not know what I was eating - definitely, not cakes! The Strawberry shortcake did have more sponge inside but it was grocery store's sponge cake quality. They use mediocre strawberry jam for extra flavor, which I disapprove of! The price point was on the high side. Not worth the money. Overall, lacking sophistication, depth, and elegance in the taste. My review may be limited as it is solely on their cakes, and I did not try their pastries or drinks. But I do not think I would go back to try other items.

Yelp
Got a chance to visit this pastry shop. The staff was very nice in explaining as it was my first visit . Tried their mini cakes (6) ate 2 of the 6 in store and took home 4 to enjoy later time. Cake is superb, doesn't take too sweet, just perfect . Drink was ok , maybe will try other drinks on the menu on next visit . Restaurant is clean but do have a lot of tables so might depend on time of visit .

Yelp
I agree with many of the other 4-star reviews here. There's nothing bad about this place. The drinks were nice (I got a London fog with oat milk) and the desserts are pretty. Drink service was great, if not a bit slow (just because there's only one person behind the counter at times). They also have a very nice single occupancy restroom. The desserts were pretty, but very rich. I tried the matcha yuzu and black sesame desserts, and both had great flavor. There's a lot of cream in the sesame dessert, and it's hard to eat after a few bites. The matcha yuzu dessert was a little more manageable, and the flavors are so delicate that some bite are overwhelmed by yuzu. I also recommend that you take the desserts to go and let them sit for 20-30 minutes for the treats to come to room temp. Maybe that will impart a better flavor and mouthfeel. Overall, no major issues. Maybe nice for a gift or special occasion, but not a place you'd crave over and over.

Yelp
My friend got me some mini cakes and they loom adorable!! The green one is matcha Yuzu and the yellow one is mango! Both were really good but I definitely like the matcha better. The best part is it is not too sweet!! I don't normally eat cakes due to most being overly creamy and sweet, but it was just the right amount. I would definitely want to try out their other pastry!!

Yelp
We wanted a few minis to celebrate an anniversary as it allows us to try the many different ones instead of ordering a large cake. Luckily I called before going to the bakery because they were sold out of a few I wanted to try so these I got from ordering over the phone and reserving them for next day pick up. The customer service was really good. The packaging was beautiful. Nothing short of expectations though as you pay $8ish per cake! We got 6 for $48 which was cool coz some were actually $8.50 so we got a small deal. I only review 4 here because we gifted 2 in a separate box to friends. The sesame noir was quite nice. It was more mousse (therefore squishy) and less cakey than I'd like but the flavour profile was very good. The lemon is also if you like tangy. It was probably a bit sweet for us but the smooth shell and lemony cream inside was amazing. The hazelnut supreme is like a rocher but moussey. The flavour again is done really well and it's definitely a classic. The Santa hat was supposedly a chestnut cream. This one was the most disappointing because I didn't really make out what the flavour was without already knowing what it was supposed to be. All in all a good experience but probably a little too much mousse for us!

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by cake. I tried here Had to sift through a lot of other Yelp Reviews to decide on my order, since there were a lot of hits and misses! It is on the pricey side so I'll only come back if I'm in the area. The inside is really pretty and perfect for a girl's day together. The service is also very friendly, attentive, and prompt. Really nice cashiers!

Yelp
One of my favourite places to get cake/ birthday cakes! Their cakes are decorated beautifully and the taste is always spot on. My parents are usually picky about how sweet cakes are, but they always seem to enjoy cakes from here. 10/10 should try their Ferrero Rocher Chocolate Cake its super delicious!

Yelp
Came back for a second round! The Matcha Yuzu was very good. You can really taste the matcha and the hint of yuzu is just perfect. The Honeycomb Dalgona Latte & Raspberry Lychee Sparkling drink were very good. Very refreshing on a hot summer day! I wasn't a fan of the peach oolong tofu cheesecake. The texture was a bit hard/dense and the flavor is more bland. Even for Asian standards. I highly recommend the matcha yuzu, Earle grey pear & sesame noir!
google avatar

Yelp
the most delish tasting treats and beautiful location! plenty of photo opp areas. service was quick and super friendly + approachable. can't wait to come back and try more of their drinks and treats!

Yelp
I ordered the Christmas Earl Grey pear cake last week, the 5" size cost approx. $45. I would have liked if the earl grey flavour was stronger. The cake itself wasn't that tasty and the tree design could have been better for such a premium place. The online ordering system was quick and efficient. Overall, I've had better cakes elsewhere in Markham.

Yelp
We tried the afternoon tea take out set that comes with 8 items; 4 savoury and 4 sweet, plus a drink of choice. The set must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance either via phone or online. I'd recommend ordering one set per person as most of the items aren't easily sharable. DRINKS: The two drinks we ordered were the Ice Matcha Latte and Ice Latte. Both drinks came in a cute clear can and neither were overly sweet and very palatable. SAVOURY ITEMS: The savoury box came with a taro mash potato hash, ham & cheese croissant, popcorn chicken, and smoked salmon tart. The potato hash wasn't crispy as I'd expected but rather a tad mushy and cold since the tea set was stored in the fridge for pick up. However, the sauces on the hash were a delicious mayo and teriyaki-like sauce. The ham & cheese croissant was standard; flaky and fluffy. The popcorn chicken, although cold from the fridge, was seasoned nicely with a Taiwanese curry spice (not overly spicy!). The smoke salmon tart had a nice balance of sweet, smoky, and savoury. Overall, the savoury items weren't anything really to write home about but were still nice snacks to go with the tea set. SWEET ITEMS: The sweet box came with a macaron, strawberry mousse cake, matcha tiramisu, and a vanilla cream puff. The macaron had a nice authentic texture, but a little too much filling for my liking. The day we went we got an earl grey flavoured one, which was really pleasant but a smidge on the sweeter side. The strawberry mousse cake was really fun to eat since it was in the shape of a strawberry. It was a good balance of tart and sweet (like a yogurt). The matcha tiramisu was really light and creamy, but the cream to cake ratio was heavily on the cream side. The vanilla cream puff was probably my personal favourite. The choux pastry was so decadent yet fluffy and light. I devoured it. CONCLUSION: Overall, the experience was really fun getting to sample a variety of snacks and sweets, however for the price some of the items could be more refined. Nonetheless, it was fun and would be perfect for a summer picnic. I'd recommend if you're open to splurging a bit for an afternoon.

Yelp
This review is based on the large black sesame cake, which my friend got me for my birthday! That being said, I don't know how much it costs so I cannot comment on the value. I don't love black sesame but I LOVED IT in this cake! It was quite flavorful, not over sweet, and I LOVED the different textures especially the slightly crunchy exterior. It is clear that every component of the cake is carefully selected and purposeful, with its own flavor/texture. It is also very beautiful and unique. Highly recommended!

Yelp
So happy to receive a gift from my best friend ~ birthday cake They were absolutely divine! The cake had an exceptional texture and taste, both of which were beautifully made. The velvet surface texture was surprisingly amazing - it looks hard but wasn't hard at all, and melted in my mouth. The black sesame aroma was incredibly strong and added a wonderful depth of flavor. The cakes were not overly sweet, it's striking the perfect balance. The designs and inner layers of the cake were truly impressive, making them a treat for both my eyes and the taste buds. I am so grateful for the beautifully made cake that was prepared for my birthday. A great experience and thank you for the beautiful birthday cake

Yelp
I dropped by this place while waiting in a line for another resto in the neighbourhood. We ordered almond croissant, latte, hazelnut chocolate mouse, all of them above average. The crew working here is very welcoming and polite. I have to say the mouse cake is extremely delicious...the place is a bit hidden so very easy to miss it. Overall, I like it!
google avatar

Yelp
If you're into desserts that aren't overly sweet, where it hits the spot but doesn't make you feel like you need a sip of coffee or tea to wash down that sweetness - Parisserie Fleur - is your best bet located in downtown Markham. The sponge of the cake is soft, the flavours are light and airy, I would personally like a little bit stronger taste than it currently sits at with a hint more texture, but I love the light sweetness that their cakes hold. Definitely got room for a little more creativity that can be thrown into their cakes, but I'd definitely come back again :)
google avatar

Yelp
DESSERTS Came in to get my sweet tooth fixed and they definitely delivered! Ordered the Tiramisu, Black Sesame and Hazelnut concoctions. They were all simply amazing! Definitely a must try if you need to fill your heart but empty your wallet. A little pricey but with all these lockdowns, its well worth the splurge! Great job team!
google avatar

Yelp
Looks is everything? You come to the right place if you want to have the perfect back drop for your IG post. High ceiling, nice decor, pretty pastries. Price is high but the products is just ok. Not too busy on weekdays so good option if you want to have a coffee or a business meeting. I won't be coming here just because of their pastries.
google avatar

Dana L.

Yelp
My partner and I had afternoon tea. The price is $50 per person and you get the items as shown in the picture. One "wheel" of snacks, and one drink per person. The Honeycomb Dalgona drink I ordered tasted amazing. I will definitely come back to purchase it again! The rest of the pastries I got were mediocre at best. The croissants were pretty good, but everything else just tasted okay. The pistachio tiramisu had a weird toothpaste-like taste to it. Overall, there was nothing particularly notable about this experience or the food, except for the high price. I wouldn't pay $100 for this again. I will say though, the snacks were quite photogenic!
google avatar

Julie D.

Yelp
Ordered the earl grey pear cake here for the hubs back in June (late review, I know). The cake was definitely different in a good way because I havent found another bakery yet with the same flavour combination. It was very rich in earl grey flavour, and nicely balanced out with the pear puree. The only thing I found quite odd or off balanced was the birthday chocolate tag. Other places pipe the happy birthday, but for them I think they engrave it. They also have a huge selection of mini cakes and pastries which were also quite delicious. When parking, just turn into the parking complex where Marriott is - parking is free. Just watch out as it's quite curvy and steep up there.

Yelp
Decide to try this place because i was craving for cakes. I order all the flavours available for the day and i provided my thought for each one of them. My final verdict, this is a decent cake shop place, nothing super wowing except the sesame noir. I gave 4 stars because there is nothing super memorable about their cake but then the overall cakes i offer from this place is good but not much uniqueness that differentiate them from other cake places. Passionate Coconut -i had the highest hope for this one because it looks cute and i like coconut. It looks better than it taste. The outside is dark chocolate, the white layer is a little bit tangy with coconut shreds inside. Sesame Noir -This was a surprise, its really unique and it taste good. If you like sesame this is definitely a must try. It's not too sweet and it has different textures within the cake. There is a crunchy sesame layer at the bottom and soft cream mouse on the top and a fluffy cake layer in the middle. It's amazing! Recommend Hazelnut Supreme Mini -This is my favourite, it's not a new unique flavour but this place make it just right. It's the perfect sweetness, Rich hazelnut flavour and it's super creamy and smooth. Recommend Earl Grey Pear -I would recommend this if you like Earl Grey. It had a strong Earl Grey aroma, i personally like this cake because again it's not too sweet and the cream in this cake is also really smooth. I can do without the pear in the cake. Orange de Terre - This cake is the most sweet out of all of them. Taste like artificial orange flavouring. This one was okay, other than it looks cute i didn't find anything special about it. Mango Cloud - This taste like regular mango cake with a cute design. Not bad but nothing unique about it. Matcha Yuzu I did not enjoy this one, i got sucked in because it has the word yuzu in it. It tasted like matcha, that's it. I did not taste the yuzu at all. I wouldn't pick this unless you are super into matcha.

Yelp
We ordered mini cakes for Father's Day in 4 different flavours - hazelnut, mango, orange, and sesame. Our family enjoyed all of them and liked how they weren't too sweet. I'm a fan of textural contrast, so I favoured the cakes that incorporated a crunchy element. We did, however, find a piece of plastic that was adhered to the side of the sesame cake (see attached photo). I would like to believe that this isn't a common occurrence at this shop, as this did appear to be a little unhygienic and showed a lack of attentiveness. As such, I'd rate Patisserie Fleur at 2.5 stars.
google avatar

Clire C.

Yelp
$7-8 (before tax) for each cake. The presentation for these cakes are unreal omg.... I tried the orange de terre, black sesame and strawberry shortcake mini cakes from them. The black sesame cake was extremely nutty and rich so if you're a black sesame fan, this is the cake for you!! Really liked the mousse inside as well. The orange de terre one tasted like an orange creamsicle popsicle . Finally, the strawberry shortcake one was also decent and tasted exactly like how I expected it to be, nothing too special. Overall, extremely beautiful cakes, but for the price, the portions are small . When I got there at 3pm on a Friday afternoon, the mango cloud cake was already sold out but I really wanted to try that!

Yelp
There is a new bakery in town. Nestled between Demetres and Cacao 70 in Downtown Markham, Patisserie Fleur is currently in its soft new opening. Patisserie Fleur is so new, there isn't even a phone number yet! Soft opening hours are currently 10 am to 10 pm. I saw a lot of nice goodies and their shop reminded me of Ruelo, Patisserin Kirin, Chi and especially Duo as their items are very similar: French pastries/desserts. Nice, sleek decor. The location has four small tables: one long bench facing the wall and four chairs on the other side ( I think it needs more chairs and tables) Most items are priced at $6.95 plus taxes. I ended up with the Mango Tart since mango is my favorite. The mango tart dessert is actually very good with a crunchy base at the bottom, whipped cream and mango but I expected a lot more mango. It wasn't too sweet .There were actually two Raspberry dessert available just for today for V- day. I didn't end up trying it as I am not too crazy about Raspberry. Overall, a good start. Glad to have them in this neighborhood. I don't have to go as far now if I have a craving for desserts and savory items. I will have to be back to try their coffees, teas and desserts :)

Yelp
On a late Sunday afternoon, we came by for some dessert before dinner - cuz, why not? Unfortunately there were only four cakes and two flavors remaining. After take one of each flavor, the display was quickly replaced by two more mini-cakes. Likely taken from their reserve in the chiller. Our cakes seemed near frozen in the middle. TIP: if you see a few cakes remaining in the display case, they are likely from the chiller and need some time defrosting.
google avatar

Katie K.

Yelp
Meh, it's just ok. Personally, I think they're overhyped and overpriced. $7.80 + tax for the 2 things I got, and it came out to be $17.xx after tax. The mini cakes were not too sweet, but it's to the point where it just tasted bland. Also their layers inside aren't very creative/interesting. For that price, I would rather go to Duo Patisserie or Bonne Nouvelle for much better quality desserts.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
I'd come back just to buy the sesame black noir cake! Sooo delicious!!! Not too sweet Got mini cakes to try all the flavours

Yelp
Ordered a matcha jasmine yuzu cake online for in store pickup and the process was so simple. Cake was delicious with layers of flavour-the matcha layer was amazing! Presentation was beautiful.

Yelp
Very classy and elegant decor, welcomed by an upscale atmosphere. Marble table tops, high ceiling and warm lighting, totally instagram worthy! Their desserts are very danty and well crafted. It's filled with layers of rich flavours and texture. Most importantly, the taste is not overly sweet. They offer a great variety, ranging from french pastries to éclairs and cakes. Prices are reasonable and comparable, considering the location and quality. Can't wait to come back and try their other cakes and pastries.

Yelp
This rating is based on the one dessert I tried, which was the *sesame noir* ($7.80). Let me take you through the Journey of this dessert. The outer shell is a black sesame flavoured mousse which encases a number of other elements including a strong sweet Sesame paste, vanilla mousse and small piece of vanilla cake. There were also some bits of smooth chocolate that I felt towards the end but according to the description it says it is Sesame crunch ‍. Either way it took me a while to sit, and enjoy this slowly. It's a unique looking dessert and I highly recommend it. It is a good size to be shared between two people but honestly I ate it by myself and aint nothin wrong with that. This dessert shop is next to a hotel. There is a small parking lot beside the shops where you are able to get parking. No charge. I called ahead to make sure that this dessert was in and the staff was nice enough to put it aside for me. I didn't see other Sesame Noirs on display so I'm not sure if I actually was able to secure the last one for the day . The dessert was a little light on the sweetness-side. I wished it was just a little bit sweeter to bring out the taste a little bit more but my insulin levels forgives it. They take credit card Lastly, their take out box was super classy and high-end looking.

Yelp
The word "gorgeous" doesn't even begin to describe this mini cake box set from @patisseriefleurto. I was simply blown away by the presentation and beauty of it and couldn't stop admiring it. Each cake is simply a work of art and also rich and decadent as well. This cake set contained: Lemon Citron Strawberry shortcake Hazelnut Supreme Orange de Terre Earl grey pear Passionate coconut Choco coffee Mango cloud Each and every cake was so well constructed and all the flavors worked so well together. My favorite would barely to be the Hazelnut Supreme. The mousse was so smoothe and velvety and the taste was almost like eating a Ferrero Rocher chocolate. I would highly recommend this as a nice gift for birthdays or parties or just to treat yourself .

Yelp
This place is a neighborhood gem! I've grabbed individual sized cakes here and then over the past year but am recently obsessed with their high tea set available for take out. It is $30 per set and I thought it was worth it because of the quality of food. Some items were smaller than other high tea places but you get you get a full bottle of the drink of choice (matcha latte or fruit tea)- that drink is enough for 2 glasses!

Yelp
Patisserie Fleur is a new patisserie shop that is located in downtown Markham. The new French patisserie sells a variety of small cakes, eclairs, pastries (croissants, macarons), and chocolates. The interior has bar stool seating as well as 4 tables for one to enjoy the desserts here. They also offer a selection of caffeine beverages as well as tea. The interior of the place is very chic and minimalistic with wood and marble accents throughout. I stopped by Patisserie Fleur on a Wed night at around 8pm to check the place out and to buy any delicious looking desserts I could find. My family and I each bought a dessert each. I opted for the lemon tart which had a different presentation from other lemon tarts I had. We also picked up a mango cloud, a mango coconut éclair, as well as a chocolate dome. My lemon tart was good except I wished the lemon curd/filling was a bit tarter. The crust of the tart was not too hard and not too soft. The presentation of how the tart was constructed was very unique, nothing like I've seen before. The little pieces of meringue added a delightful soft crispy to the tart texture wise. Overall, would return to buy more desserts if I were around the area!

Yelp
If you don't like your cake too sweet - this place is for you! Patisserie Fleur is one of our go-to cake shops for any occasion. We've tried the sesame noir as well as matcha yuzu and both are so, so yummy! If you love sesame, I definitely recommend the sesame noir as it is so creamy and not too sweet. The matcha yuzu is also very good, as it's also not too sweet and has a stronger matcha flavour. The yuzu isn't too strong though, so if you're looking for something with a strong yuzu taste this cake probably isn't for you. These cakes are also on the pricier side, but definitely worth it IMO! Overall would definitely recommend this shop if you want some yummy, pretty cakes!

Yelp
This cake was pre ordered at least a week in advance, giving them sufficient time to have this cake ready. I've ordered the exact same cake before (left) and the second one I got (right) was NOWHERE NEAR THE SAME. The snowflakes were placed.. sorry not placed.. THROWN onto the cake. There was NO candle on the cake like I had requested, I had to buy the candle myself. The lemon and the outer lining were also missing. In case you haven't noticed, this was a birthday cake but you would't know because they didn't even write a birthday message on it like requested. And the staff had the audacity to tell me because I told them the wrong date (completely false and inaccurate) they were unable to make it in time. But even so, how do you justify by giving me a half assed cake? Instead of apologizing and admitting your mistakes, you brushed off the problem with giving me a horrendous looking "cake" with NOTHING on it and the only "decorations" you had was some snowflakes that looked thrown on. No apologies, NO compensation. A waste of time and my effort. I had mentioned many positive things to my friends and family before this incident and now I'll be sure to tell EVERYONE to avoid this place. There's many reputable bakeries that are more than qualify to make better cakes than this place, not to mention they are expensive. This place is an absolute j o k e.

Yelp
I bought it as a birthday cake and it was a big hit! The cake was very light and refreshing. Great for the summer. The staff was also very patient with my indecisiveness and explained each cake to me to help me choose without any pressure

Yelp
Downtown Markham is Markham's answer to creating a downtown feel in a suburban area. Many restaurants and stores have opened recently and one of the newer ones is Patisserie Fleur, a small but wonderful store serving Asian inspired delicate and yummy pastries, crossiants and drinks. The pastries here are hand made, delectable and yummy! Pastries take so much time to make and you can tell there was so much work done to create these yummy morsels before they are quickly wolfed down. Drinks were also very good to both drink and look at. Solid for a new Dwntown Markham shop! .

Yelp
Cute little location in the new Downtown Markham. Recommendation: Try the Mango Cloud! Super light dessert with so much flavour packed in through layers on layers, topped with a thin glaze. Perfect way to end off a night! Overall, staff are super friendly and the desserts just look way too cute to eat. Check it out!

Yelp
I've been to a lot of high-tea places and this one I would rate a bit lower than others for taste. Like many of the other reviews, I also think this place is decent for the interiors and display of food. 10/10 for presentation! You'll notice that when you walk in, the place is well lit, has high ceilings, cute decors, and marble tables. Everything you would look for when you're looking for an instagram worthy picture (guilty!)! I am a foodie so these are def things I look for in a great food photo so I am guilty for this but my review for the food is below. The tea pot: I got the earl grey milk tea which was mediocre. It was extremely light and at one point tasted just like hot water. The tea flavour wasn't strong and I couldn't really taste the milky hues. My favourite from the high-tea set was the egg tart and the salmon croissant. The macarons were decent but nothing exceptional. The avocado toast tasted really plain and could have been seasoned better. The pastries were just okay, if anything the jam made it taste better. Overall mediocre experience but definitely an experience! Super cute brunch place but I would come back for just regular dessert and not the high-tea. It was quite overpriced for what it was (roughly $45 each after tax/tip)

Yelp
Afternoon tea time! . Tartine Jaune $7.85 3.5/5 Comes with lemon and orange cream with a waffle bottom! Loved the mix of flavors, but it was too sweet so I could only finish half . Nuage Cremeux $7.50 2.5/5 Lots of mango, with mango mousse, orange whipped cream, and tiny mango chunks on top! It was too sweet for my liking tho

Yelp
New French pastry shop in Downtown Markham! I was super duper excited to try this place because I've seen their super pretty cakes all over IG lately. My experience went downhill as soon as I stepped into the door. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon, the tables were all filled already so we decided to get some cakes to go. The pastry variety was pretty slim - only a few types of eclairs, mousse cakes, chocolates, and some vennoiseries. There were description cards on most of the items but no prices on them which was quite odd. I also found that the presentation of most items were very similar. We got the rose lychee and the mango cloud. Total turned out to about $16 for the 2. At this price I was hoping the packaging would be nicer, but the box was like a plain white oversized box. Not only that they didnt have a bag for the box. Got home and took a closer look at the cakes. The jelly top layer on the mango cloud was super lumpy and uneven. There was even a tiny hole in the middle! The black plastic holder thing was also quite dirty... Both of the cakes are like 95% mousse, almost no sponge. The rose lychee one was like raspberry mousse with some jelly in the middle. No lychee taste at all. The mango cloud was a bit better. It actually had some mango taste but almost half of it was cream. Honestly at $8 per cake there should be at least more than just mousse and cream. Not even actual fruit on the top! I don't think I'll ever come back.

Yelp
This brand new patisserie is conveniently located in downtown Markham, right in between Cacao 70 and Demetres! I knew I had to check out this little gem the second my insta feed starting pouring with cakes from Patisserie Fleur. Came here early in the morning so that i could avoid crowded seating and luckily we were the only ones. We ordered some croissants and drinks to start us off before moving on to the cakes. The hazelnut croissant really stood out to me cause it wasnt overly sweet and you could really taste the hazelnuts imbedded inside the croissant. We ordered the mango cloud and the rose lychee mousse cakes. You can really taste all the layers of flavours that are described in the cakes name, and theyre not too sweet so you can enjoy a few at a time! If youre a cake lover and have been to other cake places like Duo and Ruelo, then you should give this place a try. The prices here are fairly similar to other cake places as well, around $6-$8 each. The seating area is quite small but theres plenty of bar space as well. The cafe is brightly lighted so for those of you who take pics for the gram there is lots of natural lighting! The staff are really friendly and the service is great, they make good recommendations when they see that you are having difficulty to decide which cakes to get. I will definitely be back to try the rest of their cakes.

Yelp
I got the Earl grey pear mousse cake and a pot of earl grey tea on Saturday Service: not bad, the staff super quick and respectful, only thing is that for a pot of tea the additional cup is a $2.00 charge (tea for 2 is around $10) which I didn't find on the menu Decor: I loved the decor at Patisserie fleur, beautiful high ceilings, marble accents and tables, minimal aesthetics Cake- expectations: The mousse cake is suppose to contain- pear syrup, real pear pieces, choco-hazelnut sponge Sadly this treat had no flavour dimension, I mean all I could taste was milk (not even tea!) with floral bergamot bc they decorated the cake w/ pieces. The mousse was very thick and heavy to eat, the pear jam mash in the centre was less than 1/2 a teaspoon and there was barely any "real pear pieces". Also the layer of sponge was super thin, no airy ness or bounce (maybe a tad undercooked?) The technique for the glaze was not of a high level either, The other Earl grey pear cakes were lopsided and lumpy. Definitely not a level of detail I expect to be paying $8-10 a piece

Yelp
I ordered the mango cloud cake ahead of time and went to the store to pick it up. When I entered the store, I saw such a wide variety of pretty pastries and cakes in their clear display case. I picked up the cake and what surprised me was that it came in a cute clear plastic box with their pink ribbon wrapped around it. It was packaged very nicely, unlike typical white cardboard cake boxes. The mango cloud cake has so many layers! There is a layer of sponge cake, mango mousse, and even real mango pieces! Even when it is not mango season, the mango inside is still quite sweet! I believe they may have used frozen mangoes. As a mango lover, this cake tasted amazing! Mango lovers should definitely give this one a try! You will love it!

Yelp
Patisserie Fleur is a cute little cafe that has opened up beside Demetres in Downtown Markham. The cafe is quite photogenic and pretty. The space is decorated in wood, marble-like, and grey tones. There were cute succulents on the tables. The cafe itself is not very big, with seating for 8. Additional counter space is available for those willing/wanting to stand with views of Enterprise and the cinemas across the street. I do like that they hold later hours (until 10pm) than many similar patisserie cafes in the area. The cafe is well positioned for guests of the Marriott or visitors to the theatre to take out treats and beverages. Large groups likely would have a difficult time finding sufficient seating. There were an assortment of visually appealing Asian-inspired French cakes () and pastries available at the time of my visit, including matcha and yuzu pear eclairs, a mango mousse cake, a hazelnut chocolate cake, a few choices of raspberry mousse cakes on feature for Valentine's Day, various macarons, artisan chocolates, pain au chocolat, and croissants. Most eclairs and cakes were priced at $6.95. They feature Black Cherry coffee as well as Honey Rainbow coffee beans (apparently uses an Ethiopian wash process). Espresso beverages are made with the shiny new La Marzocco espresso machine they have on hand. Brewed coffee, hot chocolate, as well as 6 Pluck teas are available to choose from including Verbena Blues - a butterfly pea flower tea that looks purple when steeped. I opted to try the earl grey cream tea ($4.25) and yuzu pear eclair ($6.95). The earl grey cream tea was as described: creamy, with a strong vanilla flavour and distinctive earl grey essence. It was served in a pretty marble finish teacup and saucer. The staff offered to provide more hot water if requested. The yuzu cream on the eclair was nice with a refreshing light citrusy flavour and chunks of pear. I liked that it wasn't sweet. However I was disappointed with the chou pastry. It seemed overbaked and not optimally fresh. I also found the coffee to be more reasonably priced than the tea. $4.25 is pretty steep for tea in my opinion, and $5.50 for a cold version of the same tea seems hard to justify. I was given 10% off my purchase during the soft opening. I would return to try the matcha latte, a latte, and perhaps one of their chocolate hazelnut pastries. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
Speed read: 1) macaron has room for improvement 2) classy interior 3) matcha latte ok. 4) parking is horrible. It is a beautiful cafe in downtown markham. Cafe looks classy with marble tables and cake display similar to other high end bakery. According to my friend who makes her own macaron, macaron is all about shape and the macaron on display here has room for improvement. See the picture and make your own conclusion. We had the matcha latte, and we think it is ok. There is better places nearby. :) (We are getting too spoiled in GTA these days with all the fantastic matcha places around us, sorry!) Perhaps it's better to roll the dice on the coffee rather than their tea. It was late at night, so we didn't tried the coffee I didn't remember the dessert taste. No comment on it (Maybe someone beside me ate too much, lol.) Walking back and forth from the parking to this place should justify the dessert calories.

Yelp
Stopped by on a VERY cold Tuesday to pick up some cakes and was hoping for some croissants, but apparently only cakes available that day. There were quite a few cake varieties available, but I decided to pick up the black sesame one, and a pineapple coconut one. Visually, the black sesame one is UGLY, looks like a black pile of poop, the pineapple coconut one looks much cuter (chocolate shell made to look like a coconut shell). Taste, the black sesame one outer layer had a black sesame mousse with a very slight hint of black sesame. Inside there was a black sesame cream/custard with stronger black sesame flavour, some white custard, maybe vanilla? And some sponge cake. The coconut pineapple, inside the chocolate shell was a coconut cream/custard with pineapple chunks and a sponge cake. Cakes were ok, I liked how it was a subtle sweet. I also liked how it was quite different than other bakeries. However, unfortunately the service kind of sucked so i dinged the review based on service as well. When I was entering, i tried to open the door using the accessibility button, but it wasn't working. I saw through the glass door that the person behind the counter looked up, saw that i was struggling to open the door, and then turned away/looked down. How rude, we even actually made eye contact. So he clearly pretended not to see me and didn't want to open the door for me. Thankfully, another customer came to help open the door for me.
