I've been a loyal customer to this pastry shop for a while now, often stopping by on my way to my nearby restaurant. My husband absolutely loves the pastries here, and I've made it a habit to pick some up whenever I can. But last week, I had an experience that left me deeply hurt and angry. The staff member I dealt with that day was nothing short of rude. When I politely requested additional pastries, her response was nothing short of abusive. She screamed, “What are you mad about? Did I tell you I was done?” in front of my child and other customers, completely disregarding the fact that her behavior was not only unprofessional but also deeply offensive. When i brought it up, she doubled down on her behavior instead of apologizing and then tried to offer my child some free cookies that I turned down (I am not a beggar and I can pay for anything I want). She basically called me an ANGRY BLACK WOMAN for no reason and tried to make it right with a COOKIE? Even more insulting. This wasn’t an isolated incident. From the moment I walked in, her attitude was brash and dismissive. When I asked if they had more of a specific pastry, she snapped, “What you see here is all we have,” as if I was somehow inconveniencing her with my request. Her behavior was unacceptable, and it made me feel disrespected and degraded. I feel disrespected and degraded, and I will no longer support a business that allows such toxic behavior. This incident has made me realize that I can no longer patronize this establishment. I urge others to be cautious of the treatment they may encounter here. This will be my last visit.

I’ve gone to Patisserie Poupon for years because their French pastries are reliably good (not great), even if the service has never been their strong suit. But my most recent visit was so unpleasant it left me questioning whether I’ll return. When I arrived, there was only one other customer in person, and the woman working was on the phone helping someone else. I waited about ten minutes while she finished that call and assisted the other customer, all the while complaining loudly about being short-staffed—not in an apologetic way, but as if she resented having customers there at all. When she finally asked how she could help me, I gave my order, only for her to immediately tell me I’d have to wait while she handled online orders first. The inconsistency was confusing and frustrating. Later, when I asked about coffee, she said they had “simple coffee,” but gave no clarification, even with an espresso machine in full view. When I requested a latte if possible, she began making it while complaining out loud that she was “too nice” for agreeing, since others were now waiting. Even the young girl ringing up orders apologized for the behavior, which says a lot about how uncomfortable the atmosphere had become. When I finally received my latte, but when I asked for my order, my food order had been forgotten entirely—no apology, just silence. Unfortunately, the food didn’t redeem the experience. The cookie was stale, and the royale pastry, though beautiful, tasted of the refrigerator. For a bakery known for its pastries, this was deeply disappointing. With the pastries no longer being passable, and the service having slipped from indifferent to openly unpleasant, at this point, it’s hard to justify returning.

Google
Swing by this bakery that’s been highly recommended by many friends who work at the Hopkins. My problem was that I came in the late afternoon, 90 mins before they’re closed. Therefore, they ran out of classic and almond croissants. Fine, I picked Spinach & Ricotta, Apple turnover, and Walnut danish. I did not try any of their desserts as I would like to make sure I like their pastries first before overspending if unworthy. The bakeries look very outdated and needed a makeover. This is a 100% take out bakery. No standing or seating inside. After I got home, tried the spinach & ricotta croissant, which was excellent but could be better. The layers can be improved. The next morning, I tried the walnut danish and apple turnover. They are unusually not sweet compared to the normal pasties sold from other bakeries. This is a GOOD thing but may not be the preferred sweetness level for the majority.

Google
Pretty tasty almond crossaint. Beautiful dish of pasties and baked goods.

Google
They have PROPER pastries. Freshly made, not disgustingly sweet like the grocery store ones. I especially like the pear tart. So delicate and refreshing. Items are a bit pricey, but on par with other pastry places in the DMV area. I will definitely come here regularly to support local bakery shops like this. So hard to find authentic French pastry shops in Baltimore, gotta keep it going.

Google
I had to write a 5 star review for the amazing customer service. I pre-ordered a surprise cake for my daughter's birthday who is currently at college in Baltimore, and the front desk of her dorm refused to accept it when she was unavailable in class. The bakery worked with me to arrange for it to be re-delivered later in the day when she was available for the delivery. She said it was delicious!!

Google
By far the best bakery in Baltimore. We drive 40 minutes to get pastries here. I don't know what the 50s in France was like, but the atmosphere in this place feels like the 50s in France.

Yelp
I stopped in yesterday to grab a quick bite, but the experience was so unpleasant I left wondering what happened to the reliability and quality this bakery used to represent. When I arrived, there was one other in-person customer, and the woman working was on the phone assisting someone with an order. I waited about ten minutes while she finished helping the phone customer and then the person ahead of me. Throughout that time, she complained loudly about being short-staffed and working alone--not in an apologetic way, but as though she were irritated that customers were there at all. It was an uncomfortable tone that lingered through the rest of my visit. When she finally looked up and asked how she could help me, I stepped forward to order. But before I could even finish, she said, "You'll have to wait, I need to do this online order first," and proceeded to fulfill multiple online orders. It was confusing--why ask me to step up only to dismiss my order entirely? Once she was ready again, I repeated my order and asked if they were serving coffee. She said yes, though there was no visible menu or indication of what they offered. When I asked what kind, she replied, "We just have simple coffee here." I wasn't sure what that meant, especially given the espresso machine behind her. I asked if I could get a latte; she said nothing, began making it, and then started complaining out loud that she was "too nice" and shouldn't have agreed to make coffee because others were waiting. It might have been laughable if it hadn't been so uncomfortable. She had been short and unwelcoming from the start, and to hear her describe herself as "too nice" while actively complaining about customers was surreal. Even the young girl helping ring up orders--who couldn't have been more than 12--apologized for her behavior, which says a lot about how awkward the atmosphere had become. When I finally got my latte, I asked about my food since it hadn't appeared. She checked and realized she had completely forgotten it--it had been sitting there the whole time. Still no apology, no acknowledgment. Unfortunately, the food didn't redeem the experience. The cookie was stale, and the royale pastry, which looked beautiful, tasted strongly of the refrigerator it came from. For a bakery known for its exceptional French pastries, that was a real disappointment. I've gone to Patisserie Poupon for years (and originally to the cafe before it closed), but this visit was so off-putting that I doubt I'll return. Everyone has off days, but there's no excuse for open hostility toward customers--or walk away regretting they stopped in at all. The service has never been the friendliest, but I've returned in the past because of the quality of their baked goods, however, this visit was so off-putting I doubt I'll return.

Yelp
I love baked goods and this place is so cute! I do not claim to be a connoisseur of pastries, but in my humble opinion everything tastes good! I've gotten pain au chocolat, regular croissant, apple turnover, fruit tart, and more. Their croissants are my favorite--flaky but not too oily. The fruit tart could be a smidge sweeter. I've gone twice and the workers here were nice both times! Metered street parking in the area.

Yelp
To start...the tart was great - and there were several other options that caught my eye that I'd certainly try again if I find myself back at Patisserie Poupon. The space itself is very tiny. There are two tables and while I sat for a while to work and another person was sitting there on a work call, it didn't feel like the space was actually meant for people to sit and enjoy. It is definitely more of a grab-and-go place, and I think maybe why people feel put off by the "welcome" they received. I went in wanting a tart and a space to sit during a rainstorm, and that's what I got.

Yelp
Yes yes yes... i know you're all French and FABULEUX!!! But do you really have to have the condescending tone ALL THE TIME?!?!? I mean, yes, I enjoy a good pastry as much as the next guy but c'mon... Staff was incredibly friendly. Spoke w/ one of the pastry chefs and asked a specific question. When I came in, she recognized my voice and ensured my experience was pleasurable. I even got a free madeleine & cookie. Heating (grill) was the trick! These were absolutely delicious, especially once warmed up a bit. The butter permeated all the layers. The pastries were soft and flavorful. The sweet aspect (fruits, jams, chocolate) backed ohhh so gooey. What I remember is that my eyes rolled to the back once I took my 1st bite into each confection / pastry. TRIPLE WORD SCORE!!!!

Yelp
Today April 18th at 7:01 pm, I happened to be in my car watching this franchise work and prep their desserts, they are not clean or sanitary. I've witnessed bakers taking food/ with their bare hands no gloves from one location next door which seems to be an apartment, that have a built in kitchen. To the restaurant Approximately around 7:08pm this baker took the desserts he cut up and walked next door and put them in a fridge. No gloves, in sight. I have never in my life seen such cooking behaviors, high levels of un sanitation, in my life. Please be aware and take major precautions before deciding to order or support this establishment.

Yelp
As a long-time customer of this patisserie, I have experienced a range of highs and lows that make it a bit of a mixed bag. The cakes are consistently amazing! I love Royale, Cassis Mousse, and Opera. When it comes to pastries, it's hit or miss. When fresh out of the oven the spinach ricotta croissant, ham cheese croissant, and pain au chocolat are wonderfully delicious. However, there have been times when they were stale or old (right when they open in the morning!), which is disappointing. Given the steep prices, I expect a higher standard of freshness and quality. The customer service needs improvement. Many times I've encountered unfriendly or even rude staff. Smh. Another aspect to keep in mind is the location. The area around the patisserie doesn't feel very safe, so it's wise to be mindful when visiting. If you're willing to navigate these inconsistencies and embrace a bit of unpredictability, check it out!

Yelp
This place is EXACTLY like in France (and I know what I am talking about: I am French). Everything there looks exactly like in a French bakery and TASTES wonderful, like in France. When I eat one of their pastries or danishes, it is like I am back in France. I do not understand how they are raked # 9 in Baltimore. This is hands down #1! Marie

Yelp
I've given Patisserie Poupon two chances, and both times were unpleasant because of the same employee. On my first visit, I came in with my dog, who is extremely well-behaved -- friendly, never aggressive, and certainly not all over the food. He simply sniffed at something wrapped in plastic, and the woman working there immediately snapped at me about dogs not being allowed. It was such a strange and hostile overreaction to something so minor that it left me uncomfortable. When I gave the place another chance, I saw flies crawling all over the pastries in the display. I pointed this out and said, "You have flies all over your pastries." Instead of addressing it, the same woman just looked at me smugly. That was enough -- I walked out. Between the rude customer service and the unsanitary conditions, I can't recommend this place. If you want truly excellent pastries in Baltimore, try Roggenart instead -- far better quality, great service, and a much more welcoming experience.

Yelp
Over the last fifteen years, I have bought pastries from Patisserie Poupon every few weeks. The red and the black is a particular favorite of mine. I also enjoy their brioche and the lemon tart. I went in this afternoon for the first time since March. The pastry cases were dirty, two of the employees were arguing, and the customer in front of me kept getting cut off by the employee behind the desk because if the phone rang, the employee would immediately cut the customer off and turn away from us to take a call in the corner. It was odd but life is difficult sometimes. However, it got worse (for me). I asked if coffees could still be made and was told by the employee that even asking "raised her blood pressure." Then, I offered to wait until she served the other customers behind me. I had ten minutes, I can wait for her to clear out the line. Instead, she yelled at me that if "you don't care about other people at all, then neither do I. I'll hold up everyone here and just make you a latte. you don't care about other people." It was quite cruel, I thought--and abusive, over a coffee order. I immediately told her I had no interest in any coffee she might make and to please just let me buy my pastries. The employee continued slamming things around by the coffee machine and exclaiming how she would hold up the whole line because of me. I wish I had just left and not even bought the pastries. Instead, I just insisted again and again that she please stop and just let me buy my brioche and leave. Eventually, she stopped and relented. I will never come back to Patisserie Poupon or buy another of their products. I honestly just can't believe this happened--over an order for a latte.

Yelp
I consider this a "hidden gem" if that's a thing. They have a good variety of patisseries and a decent cup of coffee. They do great cakes as well

Yelp
I really enjoy pastry shops and am a bit of a francophile, so I was very excited that Patisserie Poupon was within walking distance of my hotel. Unfortunately, the closer you get to the shop, the sketchier the area. Luckily I was walking with two others and it was broad daylight, but otherwise I might have turned back and Ubered instead. The shop itself it very modest and if you didn't know it was there you could walk right past. Inside they have displays with cakes and their pastry items available for individual purchase, of which there were probably two dozen or more options. I got several items - opera, pistachio eclair, chocolate chip walnut cookie, Madeline, almond croissant, and pain au chocolat. My favorite item was the opera by far - super creamy with sweetness balanced by the bitter coffee cream. I am not a coffee lover, but really enjoyed this dessert. The rest of the items I honestly could've done without and have had better versions of elsewhere. I tried them all, but didn't finish them all. I think the shop is worth a pop-by if you're visiting but I am not sure I'd return if I lived in the area personally.

Yelp
Upon a local recommendation I decided to order a birthday cake to brighten up my baby's day as she graduating and is reluctant to celebrate and I'm almost 3000 miles away. First, the delivery driver went above and beyond to make sure this cake was sent to my daughter's college dorm room, despite the security desk being a total pain about it, and not caring one way or another. My kid and her friends called me Oohing excited about how beautiful the cake was and heard back later it was just as delicious. Yes it ultimately was a really nice birthday and this cake made it so much more special! This is the Cake Royale, chocolate mousse, hazelnut meringue layer, more chocolate and hazelnuts.

Yelp
Authentic French bakery. It is a little pricy but great for special occasion. Order by phone ahead if you need specific cake.

Yelp
2 words Kouign Amman. This bakery stands the test of time with how delicious all of the items are here. All of the cookies, croissants, danish, and rolls I tried were amazing but without a doubt the star of the show for me was the Kougin Amman. It was perfectly flaky with a coating of glazed caramel and is what the phrase "party in your mouth" is coined for. I loved chatting with the lady helping us, she was so friendly and fun and I can't wait to come back for more.
google avatar

Yelp
A quaint bakery in an obscure part of the city in my opinion but oh my, their desserts are delicious (haven't tried any baked goods yet). They have a good selection of chilled desserts in their refrigerated section and a counter full of their bakery items. The few desserts I've tried are the strawberry fraisier, pistachio & coffee eclairs, and fruit tart - all have been so good! Nothing to rave about the decor but staff are friendly and provide efficient service.

Fabienne M.

Yelp
We just tried a Fraisier the Crème pâtissière is not what it should be! And the Millefeuille has the appearance but Not the taste, again the Creme?? Maybe a trip to France is needed for some serious update! Fabienne

Yelp
Got an excellent apple tart to take to a friend's Thanksgiving dinner at the last minute. Everyone loved it.

Yelp
If you want to taste authentic french pastries you must head to Patisserie. Not only are the desserts delectable but they're gorgeous and easy on the eyes as well as the sweet tooth.

Yelp
As soon as I entered, I was greeted by the most heavenly scents of freshly baked pastries. The staff at this bakery were fantastic. They were friendly, and eager to assist me in choosing the perfect treats for my visit. Whether you're a fan of French pastries or simply looking for a little taste of luxury, Patisserie Poupon Bakery is an absolute must-visit in Baltimore. You won't be disappointed!

Abbie P.

Yelp
I've been multiple times and everything I've tried has been AMAZING. The walnut danish is my absolute favorite but everything tastes great. I will be going back and recommend it to everyone.

Yelp
Hands down the best pastry shop in Baltimore! You can't go wrong with any of the delicious cakes, pastries, cookies, candy. There's everything from wedding cakes to macarons. When you walk in the door, you're greeted with a smile. Every employee is super friendly. You'll see the pastry chefs working in the back with mounds of butter, flour and sugar. If you time it right, there's free samples handed out. I've lived overseas in Europe and Patisserie Poupon would give them a run for their money! Deliciousness!

Yelp
Please note that this review is part of my Fancy Feast series! Taste: 5 paws. Sensibly sweet! Value: 3-4 paws Bottom line: the best French cakes and pastries that Baltimore has to offer! As a stray cat, I don't eat fancy foods often but every once in a while I indulge myself with some of the best desserts that Baltimore has to offer! They have a wide variety of cakes to satisfy almost any palate. One noticeable thing about their desserts are that they not cloyingly sweet like many other dessert shops in Baltimore (I'm looking at you, Sacre Sucre! *meow*). At Patisserie Poupon, you can actually taste the cocoa, creme, and fruit. The sugar is used sensibly to highlight these flavors rather than to overpower them. The only downside to Patisserie Poupon is that their prices are on the higher side (~$6 per cake), but I do think that they are still worth every penny! Cake recommendations (top tier): - Royale - hazelnut and chocolate cake with chocolate macaron - Tiramisu - light and fluffy, just like me! - Mixed Fruit Cheesecake - creamy and decadent! Cake recommendations (close but no Royale): - Opera - almond and chocolate cake with coffee buttercream - Mixed Fruit Tart - for when I need my serving of fruit - Lemon Meringue Pie - sweet and tart - Cassis Mousse - blackcurrant and white chocolate cake - Apricot Tart - the apricots are the star! - Frasier - strawberry cream cake Cakes that I find to be "meh": - Apple tart and Pear tart - these are decent but not particularly special. Not worth the premium price :( - Eclairs (varied) - I find these to be okay and not particularly special. I've never had an éclair that I've liked though. - Millefeuille au Caramel - puff pastry with pastry cream - the caramel is hard to break through without mangling the entire dessert. I do not like this dessert And this concludes the first of my Fancy Feast reviews! *meow*

Yelp
Today I picked up a lovely bûche de Noël from Patisserie Poupon: this is where Cafe Poupon gets its pastries and bread each day. I am not a Christmas fan, like at all. But I am a fan of tasty cake that looks cool. Which is what this is. I pre-ordered the grand marnier version. The cool part is the decorations: mushrooms and worms, and other little things you'd find on a log... but in candy form, of course! And it had the great orange-y taste I was looking for: very happy with my purchase. Oh, I also ordered 6 madeleines just because. Perhaps I will dig into those this weekend. Pickup was easy. Just have your order number ready and of course mask up. Parking is also easy (coin meters, so bring change).

Yelp
I couldn't leave Lil Italy without stopping at a bakery. All the baked goods were displayed in the window and you ordered with the cashier. I got a chocolate croissant that was super flaky and the chocolate was amazing. We also ordered a slice of expresso cake which was very yummy & rich in flavor. If your in the area definitely take a ride to little Italy to check out all the delicious baked goods... you wont be disappointed.

Yelp
So happy my friend showed me this bakery because it is now maybe one of my top 2 favorite bakeries in Baltimore!!! Their croissants are AMAZING. So soft. I especially love love their almond croissant so much. I tried their strawberry cream cake and it was so light and airy-reminded me of the Korean cakes I get from Korean bakeries. Definitely adding this bakery to my weekend morning routines now
google avatar

Ali K.

Yelp
I was disappointed! The croissant, the kouign amann, and the chocolate brioche were all stale! They should be flacky and crispy and fluffy inside but they weren't at all. I purchased them around 9am, even though that shouldn't matter. But it's a bakery and I would assume things are fresher in the morning. This seemed like it was made a few days ago. I took one bite of each and I would say it tasted better then the supermarket bought ones in its ingredients. But definitely not worth it. I don't know of I went at a bad time, but I don't see any excuse for it. As for the piece of cake, I purchased that for someone else so I didn't not try it. I can't speak towards that. I hope it's not as bad as the others things. It looked pretty good, but I can't really rate it's taste. I don't think I will be coming back here so not sure I would get to taste it either.

Yelp
This place is solid and rivals the quality of baking at any other patisserie in a major city. It won't necessarily be "the best" you've ever had but it'll hit that croissant craving, and for me, my love for canelés. They have the days pastries out on display in the window French style and the croissant dough is wonderfully flaky. The canelés have the characteristic chewy, caramelized exterior and soft, moist interior. I would have liked it a tad softer to the point of suspiciously under baked personally but By all means it's done well (I like extreme textual contrasts with my patisseries.) I apologize to anyone else who might have wanted canelés after 9am today knowing it's incredibly hard to find this niche pastry in the DMV. Despite how delicate the pastries are the ham and cheese croissant is a surprisingly solid breakfast option. Two points of constructive criticism: that the glaze on the pain aux raisins was a little too you know so it's not as delicate and savory as one you would get in France also the crust on the baguette isn't crusty enough (watch ratatouille and you'll know what I mean.) But the best one I've found in Baltimore thus far.
google avatar

Kimberly K.

Yelp
Really, REALLY disappointed. If you are into croissants lacking the proper balance, and are okay with 'one' layer 'bricks' then have a go. So far this place doesn't even come close to the daily comestibles I used to partake of from the Bakkerij Brandsma in Utrecht, NL. The ham and cheese croissant was certainly tasty (why I gave this review two stars), but the texture and balance of proper mille feuille was COMPLETELY non-existent. Um, WAY too much butter. My WAG (Wild Ass Guess) -- there's a pâtissier is in training. [Everyone has to start somewhere. But since these comestibles aren't hitting the mark, I wouldn't have the audacity to sell them to the general public at full priced. Hint. Hint... ] I might still give the plain croissant a try, because at least it looked airy, and had a proper golden brown finish. Aside: They promise in their mission statement that "it looks good and tastes good", and they achieve this expectation. However, authentic French Pastry is supposed to be of a high caliber on texture, too.

Yelp
After a somewhat disappointing lunch, we decided to stop at Patisserie Poupon in hopes of a better dessert. It was indeed a wise decision. This quaint little French bakery is absolutely delicious! We got the Royale, the Paris Brest, and the strawberry pistachio cake. The Royale was a rich, luxuriant chocolate mousse draped over some crunchy nuts and a soft sponge bottom layer. The little chocolate macaron on top was excellently made as well. The Paris Brest had the classic hazelnut cream that melted perfectly into the choux pastry. The strawberry pistachio was rich with pistachio flavors and wonderfully moist. In addition, nothing here was overly sweet like most American desserts. A must try in the Baltimore area!

Yelp
y'all. Incredible! Fantastic! Delightful! Why four stars you might be asking? Well the customer service is a downright bummer. The front of the shop is usually understaffed and I often find myself waiting 10-15 mins until the person running the phone can help me. Whatever though, I still go weekly because as I said, the pastries are incredible.

Yelp
My favorite patisserie in the city. One of my friends ordered her wedding cake from here and it was absolutely lovely. Cannot recommend enough.

Yelp
I'm always delighted ... You could literally close your eyes pick things and be overjoyed and completely satisfied every-time!

Yelp
I was just in this shop and encountered the rudest woman. She actually started to argue with me regarding online ordering. Will never step foot in this place again.
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
Stopped here because it was listed as a recommended spot in Baltimore, and I think it lived up to its reputation as having excellent French pastries. And, who I'm assuming was the owner, was very friendly. The desserts themselves were delicious; we got a raspberry tart, mango, pineapple and coconut tart, and a bacon quiche. All were delectable, and though flavorful not sweet or full of sugar. You could taste the fresh fruit and the jam fillings were subtle and tasty.
google avatar

Thomas S.

Yelp
My oldest daughter ordered a cake from this French bakery for a little family lunch. I am not sure what the official name was, but it had almond, coffee, and mocha flavoring. The cake was moist and bold tasting. Everyone loved this dessert. The cake costed $45 and worth every penny. We liked to visit again to try the pastries.

Yelp
The place use to be better last time I take king pie the lady on the front are not welcoming the customers well not smile she forgot to give me the crowns also the quality of the pie was not number one the dough was not tasting butter and not cooked enough you can see the raw dough inside the place need some fresh paint the entry door is very dirty close to the handle !!?? I don't understand when lady close the door she don't see that !?? I have to say the Christmas log was very good also the ham and cheese croissant use bad quality cheese and ham very bland

Yelp
After our second time through watching the Great British Baking Show, my husband and I decided to seek out some patisseries to get our paws on some of the baked goods we have seen on the show, but haven't been able to try. So far, Parisserie Poupon has been our favorite. The service was friendly enough and the atmosphere was a little lacking, but that is not why we were there, we were there for the goods. We got a Frasier (Light genoise cake with fresh strawberries, Kirsch and Mousseline), Royale (Layers of chocolate mousse, chocolate meringue, and crunchy hazelnut and white chocolate) and the third I cannot remember the name of but it was passion fruit and chocolate. All of them were incredible and for once we agreed on the rankings of our favorites: passion fruit and chocolate, then the frasier and then the royale. We rarely see a dessert with passion fruit (which they use all the time on the show) and we loved the tang with the chocolate. The frasier was just delicious and reminded us of a fancy and more delicious strawberry shortcake. The royale was also great, but so are a lot of other chocolate desserts. I can't recommend enough and cannot wait to try some more of the pastries. The pear danish looked particularly yummy.

Yelp
The staff are very friendly and always nice. Sometimes they give us free goodies like cookies or macarons They make the best chocolate macarons (I can't ever manage to take pics of the macarons because I just inhale them within a few minutes and I buy a dozen at a time). They also make my most favorite cake ever - Royale. It's layers are made of dream- chocolate mousse, crunchy hazelnut feuilletine, and chocolate meringue... So far I have ordered the cake for many occasions and everyone just fell in love with it.

Yelp
My wife loves the Gateau Breton cake, so I will indulge her, and then pick up croissants, cookies, and maybe an eclair or two for the rest of the family. All are delicious, so I rarely feel guilty about the bill. It's a special treat!

Yelp
A gem in Baltimore. Fantastic menu. Prices are reasonable, too. Easy to order online and pickup.

Yelp
Ordered a fruit cake and let me tell you, it's to die for! So moist and flavorful with fresh fruit. Can't ask for anything better. The staff is so friendly and welcoming too.

Yelp
I should have known better than getting the danish. I normally don't really like danish...and I still don't after this place. I ended up getting the cheese danish. The exterior was soggy and mushy, with too much of the glaze on it. Maybe it's a personal preference, but I prefer the danish to have a flaky and light consistency. This just didn't cut it. The macarons are decent. They're crisp on the outside and chewy and light on the inside. I really liked the passion fruit one. I thought the black current could have had a bit more umph to it. $0.85 macarons are a steal! I agree with some of the other reviews that the server was a bit rude and curt. I kept trying to make jokes and be friendly as I asked her if she had suggestions, but she was cold and seemed like she just wanted to get rid of me. I'm giving you $ lady, so please be patient with me!?

Yelp
What a wonderful find! Patisserie Poupon is a small but delightful bakery tucked away on East Baltimore street and is easy to miss as you're driving by. I finally managed to stop in on a weekend afternoon, and I'm really glad I did. It's a small space, but there is an impressive selection of aesthetically pleasing pastries (both large and small). I opted to bring some small tarts/pastries ($5-6 each) home, and they all ended up being as delicious as they were beautiful. The only drawback was the somewhat steep price, but I personally thought the pastries were worth the price. I would definitely consider going back to purchase cakes for special occasions (which seemed to hover around ~$30+ from what I could see). Go pay a visit!

Yelp
I was introduced by a friend to these wonderfully delicious baked goods - He even took the time to take me to the shop so I could purchase a few. My favs are the apricot tart and the lemon meringue tart. They are simply heavenly. Thanks VS for sharing. D. Etheridge

Yelp
The store is very small. The cake was good but not fresh. They are good looking cake though. And for the creme burlee. I felt it missed a little touch. The sugar on top was not crispy at all. Felt like tasting sugar. Maybe it was crispy. Just when we get there in the morning they didn't get a chance to make a fresh batch just selling the food from yesterday? I felt like they have very good recipe. Just didn't use it well.

Yelp
The best pastries in the DC area, depending on the pastry neck and neck with Bread Furst. The madeleines are exquisite.

Yelp
I originally went here for the macarons, and unfortunately these let me down. However, I also tried a few other things while I was here (since I lack self-control) and I liked the other baked goods. Service was pretty good though it took a minute or two before someone came to help me, but nothing out of the ordinary. I like how you could glance into the kitchen and see the chef. Parking can be a challenge there. I had some cookies that were absolutely delicious. Moist with a great ratio of chocolate to cookie. There was also a range of patisserie that looked great, but I did not try. The macarons unfortunately left me wanting much more. I've found other places in the city that I prefer. The flavors here were good and creative, but having tried 6 different flavors, I was not in love with the texture and overall wiliest of any of them. They were a little hard and dense for my preference. I'll probably go back to give it a try and will definitely try other items.
