This place is everything you’d hope for in a downtown Gaslamp bar: welcoming, lively, and just downright fun. What truly sets it apart though? The people. Massive shoutout to LEXI, the bartender whose energy and warmth transformed our evening, and EUGENE, part of the staff team who made sure everything ran smoothly. Their enthusiasm and genuine hospitality are the reasons I’ll keep coming back. I literally went Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday because I wanted to see Lexi and Eugene. Bonus points for their perfect Guinness draft pours (yes, the kind that hits the spot every time) and the surprisingly delicious house-made peanut butter shots, a quirky but unforgettable treat. Can’t wait to return!! 🍻

Google
Hands down the best bar downtown San Diego! The happy hour is awesome and the staff is incredible. Its busy enough to have a great time without being too crowded inside. Live music almost every night except Monday, I believe. Check the place out!

Google
Place is awesome..very Fri day and attentive bartenders..great music in the air..smaller outdoor area but ample..clean fun Irish bar and by far the best in the gaslamp! See you again guys!

This place does not close at 2 am. The manager starts harassing people an hour earlier because, in her words, she wants to go home. Her shrieking voice and turning all of the lights on unnecessarily are clearly designed to get you out before closing. I don’t know who owns this bar but they should find a manager who can manage it appropriately

Google
We held a business mixer there last week. The venue was very accommodating and provided a great food platter. Thanks Ryan

Google
The staff here is amazing. Awesome turns and even live bands for special events. Definitely a great vibe every time I hangout at this venue. Definitely worth checking out.

This was the first spot of the night on this Sunday, however unfortunately upon stepping ten steps in the door. A employee had walked up rather aggressively and refused service as well rudely turned me around. The reason: I appeared intoxicated.( Which I am limping and haven't had one drink for the day ) I honestly feel disrespected along with little trust in the ethics and professionalism. I will not ever return nor spend any money with this establishment

Google
This place was awesome! Had some drinks and listened to some live music! We all loved the gaslamp district!

Yelp
Great pub vibes, service was great. Their peanut butter Pat's Craic is great too: peanut butter whiskey.

Yelp
Pretty expensive drinks but it's a cool place. Not as crowded as the rest of gaslamp which is nice

Yelp
Damn so this is what its like for a city to have a night life. We stubbled upon this pub when trying to get into one of the "poppin'" ones with the hella long ass lines. Gaslamp when we went for a bach party was CRACKIN'. Hella people and it was just a random weekend. We saw this Irish pub and was just the best of times. The interior is pretty narrow and at the back there is a stage for a live band. Not sure what the schedule or regular music is but the blues was just PERFECT. Prices weren't too bad and the bartender was quick with it considering a packed night. Would definitely come back here if I was local. It was also a nice break for the bar hopping because it was chill yet packed compared to the other pricey fancy looking spots.

Yelp
Odd that nobody was in the pub the Sunday night we came in for a few drinks except a bartender, his trainee, and a security guard who had just washed away some vomit off the sidewalk. The cozy place was nice and dark (thanks to a dimmer switch according to the training we witnessed), the main light coming from the TV playing Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Plus, they had a ukulelist playing modern hits with live looping just like the authentic pubs of Ireland.

Yelp
Popped in here on my way to a Padres game. The place was what you'd generally expect from a proper Irish joint. Irish beer and liquor, Irish decor, etc. Per usual for 95% of the businesses in the Gaslamp, they had no parking lot. I was there right at opening and the place wasn't crowded, so the service was prompt. I'd 100% return the next time that I'm craving a Guiness.

Yelp
I stumbled into Patrick's after hearing reggae music from outside. It happened to be happy hour, and the drinks were great with a nice vibe. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service from Armando. I'll definitely be back because of him.

Yelp
This is one of my go-to haunts downtown for several reasons. 1. They have live music every single night. 2. Despite being in the Gaslamp district, this bar is actually pretty easy to get into and isn't normally packed. That may suck for the bartenders, but it's great for locals. 3. They have complimentary popcorn using coconut or some other kind of vegetable-based oil that means that you get delicious, salty, vegan snacks for free. All in all, you get to see the same cast of bartenders at this place as well as the same cast of local artists that are performing. It feels really great to have a space in the community where you can get some consistency and start to meet people.

Yelp
Came into San Diego to celebrate my birthday and to go to Padres Opening Day ... stopped into Patrick's for a quick drink and loved it! Armando was behind the bar and he was awesome! Super personable, he let us know what the happy hour specials were and promoted live music later on in the night! Patrick's is a great, cozy Irish pub and we will definitely be back!

Yelp
Came here twice during our week long stay in SD. We always love a good Irish bar and this was no exception. My bf loves that we can reliably find Miller Lite, I love the selection of Irish whiskies though I usually opt for Red Breast. Also, who can resist a good pint o' Guinness! The bartenders were what made this place. Angela is loud and sassy and so funny and friendly. We had a great time talking to her and she was full of life! Jo was so sweet and great. When I decided to try a High Noon for the first time and she could see I was meh about it, she brought me some fruit to add to it to make it more delicious. She poured a delightfully strong old fashioned and gave us some great dinner recommendations. Irish bars are the best bars, and we loved Patrick's! Cheers!

Yelp
Great spot. Bartenders very friendly and attentive. Music was on point great DJ. When I'm back in San Diego will definitely go again

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came across this spot while walking Gaslamp on a Saturday night. It's a small place and had a good crowd going. We were able to get a table and watch the live music. Loved the ambiance, people were nice and cordial. I didn't see anyone drunk acting obnoxious which is what you will often on a Saturday night. Cons: there is no food and the jukebox was not working :( Overall I would come back here (We were supposed to do a few bars that night but we ended up staying there the whole night :) )

Cecilia Y.

Yelp
One security asked "how much money is in your wallet right now?" assuming we couldn't afford drinks. Sir, we make more than you on an annual basis. With that attitude, why would we even buy drinks at this bar? So, we left. Please note that this doesn't apply to the security guard who checked our IDs. He was nice.

Yelp
Out night time savior on vacation... when you need a night with amazing bartenders and a slower pace.... Best nights and best bartender... Monday and Tuesday!!!
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
Sierra (bartender) and Marco (security) are both amazing! We had terrible service from a whiskey bar down the street that almost ended our night but we happened to come across this gem and I'm so glad! This is our new favorite spot in SD! The music was amazing, ambiance was great, prices were low, drinks were good, and most importantly, down to earth staff that genuinely wanted everyone to have a good time. This place felt like a safe haven amongst the rest of the SD chaos. No customers were out of line and everyone (all age ranges) were having a good time. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area!

Yelp
The ambiance was perfect from the imported authentic Irish pub decor to the friendly bartender and perfect Guinness pour! We tried the sampler and that was INCREDIBLE! Shepherds pie, corned beef and cabbage, chicken boxty and Irish beef stew. As a recommendation the two of us shared and it was mouthwateringly delicious! Hope to come back!

Yelp
Had a blast! Bar tender Kirstan was a perfect fit for the evening! This is the small, hometown feeling bar that the gaslamp needs! While the bartender was great, and the place comfortable, the live band playing blues seemed to drown on without any interaction w the patrons. The music between their sets was classic rock and perfect for chatting and having a few drinks. The bar lacks food which would be great. Just get munchies that need microwave!

Kevin M.

Yelp
Band was great and the atmosphere is good. On my complaint is that it's an Irish bar and they can't properly poor a Guinness!!! WTH!!'

Keri B.

Yelp
Raucous, lively, what you should enjoy and expect! Music is more fun in this smaller space

Clarissa S.

Yelp
Had a great time in gas lamp here. Free popcorn and trainee vic was great. Sierra did great too and the band was awesome.

Patrick W.

Yelp
Great dive at gaslamp. Live bands and cold beers. The crowd is friendly and the bartender is always very nice. Seating are available outdoors which makes it very relaxing.
google avatar

Ron M.

Yelp
It's not the blues bar it used to be. But it is a nice bar with good drinks. Friendly tender.
google avatar

Ronna H.

Yelp
Great place! Fun atmosphere! Great live music! Awesome bartenders! Great place to stop at for a bachelorette party.
google avatar

Doc S.

Yelp
What a great pub! Super cool staff, great music, and super cool atmosphere. Manager Cameron is terrific! Easy going and makes everyone feel comfortable. Bartenders (John/Natalia) are efficient and attentive. Monday Karaoke is a kick and Mike "Mic" does a fantastic job keeping things hopping. Great place to hang out with old friends and meet new ones. A+++

Yelp
My review is 23 years old lol.. I haven't been to this establishment since 2000 when it was called Patricks 2 since the 1st one burnt down. It was an ok place especially on a Sunday to watch football... i know this review isn't helpful to most but...
google avatar

Kierstyn J.

Yelp
This place is awesome! The GM, Cameron, is super friendly and accommodating. Very chill atmosphere with classic rock music (I only went during the daytime)
google avatar

Jose B.

Yelp
As soon as you walk in, you get the inviting great smell of popcorn. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable of their special peanut butter whiskey shot that tasted like ice cream.
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
Really a cool little Irish pub. No food but asked for a Black and Tan and it was perfect. Bartender was nice and helpful. And as I said a really good black and tan which you can't get everywhere
google avatar

Nadine B.

Yelp
Awesome-sauce! No cover, heart of the Gaslamp. Amazing 3-piece band playing . Friendly, friendly staff! Not too crowded. I love this place! I can't believe places like this exist. 7 out of 5 stars.
google avatar

Kym C.

Yelp
visiting with friends from Maui and stopped in here to get my husband, Patrick, a tshirt. Cameron and Ruby were great fun and the band, Chickenbone Slim were awesome
google avatar

Alexander B.

Yelp
Owner is cheap, he had one server for 30 people in the bar. Ended up waiting 15 mins to get a glass of Guinness
google avatar

Jim G.

Yelp
Small place with a big stage. If the band on a Monday night is that good I would love to go back on a Friday or Saturday. I was in town for a conference but if I lived here it would become my neighborhood bar.
google avatar

Curt T.

Yelp
This bar is so fun!! Good music cheap drinks. What more can you ask for???? The music is great and no complaints. Crowded but the service remains quick and efficient!!!
google avatar

Pete T.

Yelp
Wandered out of Gaslamp Tavern and into Patrick's Gaslamp Pub. My second time here with Bex. Our friend who was out with us said he'd been in a time or two in the past. Mid-afternoon on a Saturday and the beer prices still seemed a bit steep. I expect it on a Saturday night with live music, but midday? We all felt a little less than welcome. Not "regulars". So we had one and moved on. Hey Gary! Smile once in a while! - It was like you had a bad golf game that morning.
google avatar

Alexandrea C.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend came to San Diego for a weekend getaway, we came across Patrick's after staying at the Keating hotel and I have to say they've got the brews and tunes! I really enjoyed my old fashioned that John made me. They do not cheap out on ingredients and the price is right! They have the best prices on gaslamp district and John makes great cocktails. I highly recommend this spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Great environment, super friendly locals, and a very generous business who cares more about making sure you have fun than making money off you. If there's a bills game on, you NEED to come here. You won't regret it.

Pacific Palisades M.

Yelp
Used to be great. Good music good ambiance, but the new bartender Ruby completely ruined it. She is the most disrespectful and rude person we have ever met in our life. Will not be going back if she still works there.

John B.

Yelp
Great music! Friendly and speedy bartenders and the drink prices were reasonable for San Diego.

Missy X.

Yelp
We're grateful Patrick's is open again and many of us long-time regulars are hoping the new owners will bring some of those top notch classic blues, rock, R&B, funk, and soul artists back. Fingers crossed! Lauren Leigh and the Low Keys were back playing last weekend and they were ON FIRE. They blew the crowd away. We danced for hours. Such a FUN time and Lauren's voice is out of this world! The bartender that took care of us that night was a sweetheart. 10/5 stars rating for that particular night!

manus d.

Yelp
They're REOPENING SOON ! February 13th I was talking to my bartender at my local Bae. He told me that he was going to start working at Patrick's, Gaslamp very soon. Great news!! I love going there after the Padres games .
google avatar

Nicole N.

Yelp
always a good time with great bands! the staff is always friendly and they don't have a cover charge anymore.
google avatar

Evelyn S.

Yelp
We ended up at Patrick's kind of by mistake but I am glad that we did... We came in and I think there was a 10 dollar cover charge because there was a band playing that night. The band was pretty cool (don't remember the name) they played alternative and classic rock music which I am not really into but I must say I did enjoy it. The crowd was pretty chill. Most people were polite and were just there to enjoy a night out. A gentleman pulled a stool so I could sit which was extremely nice. We sat by the bar and had some stiff drinks (small but with a punch) and some beers. I was out of my element but I enjoyed this place. It had great atmosphere and chill vibes.

Kelsey B.

Yelp
Please do yourself a favor and grab a drink here. The bartender Angela (day shift) is everything good. She's so welcoming, an excellent bartender, and creates a really fun environment. 10/10 recommend this place. My fiancé is from Ireland and loved this place-- which speaks to an excellent Irish pub.

Karina A.

Yelp
Not a good time the securtiy has very high egos and I understand doing your job but why are the securities the one escalating situations. Obviously we all got carded going in but then as we are ordering i understand showing it again at some places but to have the security come out of no where and try to tell you your card is fake just because you are from nevada is complete bs im literally on vacation and you can go through all the checks. If it was a fake it would have snapped instantly and it didnt so now i have to go to the dmv and wait and get a whole new one shipped to me. MY PARENTS WERE LITERALLY RIGHT NEXT TO ME ALSO

Jenny S.

Yelp
Great meet up place for friends downtown, especially for games! Nice atmosphere, good food.
google avatar

Jefferson L.

Yelp
I like dive bars. Give me the dark, dank embrace of time and experience and memories, where the bartop is worn and etched, the bathrooms are adventurous, and pours are sturdy and persuasive. If you add to that live music, I may never leave. Enter Patrick's in downtown San Diego. This quasi-Irish/English/something-with-an-accent pub checks all the boxes and presented--remarkably, at no cost--one of the best blues bands I've ever seen. This isn't a review for Len Rainey & the Midnight Players so I'll just say, if you ever have a chance to hear them and blow it off, your life will always be incomplete. So Patrick's is the kind of place where you can still get a cocktail or whiskey for under $10, sit on spider-veined upholstered stools, and watch drunk people dance in the walkways. And the bartender will climb on the counter with Yamakasi-type skill to reach the top shelf spirits. It's that bar with character, with personality. It's that homey space where you spend time, create experiences, and collect memory after memory.

Jack N.

Yelp
Patrick's used to be my only go-to on the gaslamp because the had live music 7 nights per week but now they have a DJ a couple nights per week and it's just not the same. I guess they're trying to attract the younger crowd but Patrick's was the anti-gaslamp and now it's who knows what. Saturday night and it's empty here. Sad to see. Where can I go to get the old Patrick's feel.

Erin F.

Yelp
Cameron is amazing, the music is fantastic and this feels like a fun, neighborhood bar! I just love it!!!!
google avatar

Vicki C.

Yelp
I stopped in with some friends after a Yelp event next door because the bartender, Erica, was so friendly. Patricks is a dive and I love a good dive where I can have a stiff drink and be merry. I enjoyed the people watching and some zesty characters made their appearance which was part of the character Patricks has to offer. I missed the Jazz but look forward to returning to enjoy some live music when I am downtown.
