"Dino’s is the latest in a string of old fashioned red sauce joints to close around Denver in recent years. Many of those closures have been in the city’s old Northside neighborhood (now commonly referred to as Highland), which saw the closure of Italian mainstay Pagliacci’s and pizza joint Longo’s Subway Tavern in 2012 and Patsy’s Inn, then the city’s oldest Italian restaurant, in 2016." - Paul Albani-Burgio

We went there last week for a quick dinner. we order the classic Spaghetti and Meatballs. First I have to recommend them on being so nice and friendly. Also I did like the home made noodles. It is great that they still make them this way - it adds a lot to the dish. That said I found the red sauce to be a disappointment. I do like an old style red sauce form time to time - but this sauce lacked that homemade texture and taste and was either very thick or watery. The meatballs were hard and dense. They would be better if they used real bread soaked in milk rather than straight bread crumbs to give them a softer texture. Flavor of the food was good and as you would expect. Prices were very reasonable too - hence the 3 stars.. I think if they would up their game in terms of the sauce and a few other things to match the homemade noodles - they would get my 5 stars..

I got the homemade spaghetti & my partner got the chicken Marsala. Both very bland. I had to add all the spices and a ton of salt to make it taste okay. They were very unorganized. The waiters are running around the whole room. The guy never looked at us or asked us how our food was. We ordered first and the tables behind us got their food before us. The best thing was the martini. Will never go back.

Gave this place 3 chances before writing a review. First time I went I had a great experience. Our male waiter (young man /w dark hair) was very attentive and service was great. Second time I went I ordered the House Lasagna with sausage. The entire dish was over-powered with a ground sausage taste. Very tasteless as well. Couldn't even taste the ricotta or the sauce. Left feeling a little "robbed" as the dish was priced at $16. Definitely didn't feel like the food was worth what I paid for. Third and last time I went to this place. My waitress didn't even introduce herself. Didn't check on how my food tasted. Didn't even talk to me. Felt like I was more a bother than a patron. I order their Fettuccine Alfredo. After eating my house salad, around 5 mins later the waitress tells me they can't make my Fettuccine dish... Was told they ran out or something.. What kind of Italian restaurant runs out of a staple dish at 6 pm? I honestly felt they just didn't want to make my dish. Instead I had to order their Half & Half Cheese Ravioli and Spaghetti. It came very quickly, but was partially cold and tasteless. I don't know where they get their recipe for their "homemade" sauce, but it tastes like doctored ketchup. Tasteless without the basic hint of herbs or oregano. Pretty sure they charged me for the house salad on top of my entree, even though my entree "comes with your choice of soup or salad." Biggest waste of $28. Save your money to go to a restaurant that actually gives a s**t. Cause this place clearly doesn't. Will never go back. Edit: Went home later and spent the better part of the evening on the toilet. This place is not clean. Edit 2: Glad this place has closed. It was an absolute dump. Out with the trash and in with the class!

The homemade pasta items were awesome, especially the fried ravioli. The pizza was also great. The old bar is a blast, I think there was a ghost drinking next to us, he looked a lot like one of the guys in the old photos on the wall :-)

Upon walking in my friend and I were greeted at the bar by the owners. That was very nice! Once we were seated, the bread was cold and we could not flag down our server for over 20 minutes to even order our drinks. Service gets zero stars... sorry. Although!! We did receive free drinks from the wonderful bartender because of the slow service.

This is a real neighborhood Italian restaurant where the locals go and have been going for generations. Their homemade spaghetti noodles are fat, but they are so good. My go to dishes are anything with spicy meat sauce or chicken parmesan, but I've never had anything bad the 20+ times I've been here. If you sit at the bar, you can order from the restaurant or pizza joint menus and get pizza frites for dessert.

Food is quite good but, the good sauce or protein gets covered in a blanket of low quality mozzarella to where you can never taste anything else or your food will come out cold. Service is a hit or miss whether it be a slow lunch hour or the middle of dinner rush. out of the 4 times I have been here 3 times the service has been terrible.

Dinner last night for ladies night out and it was awesome. The minestrone soup was a spicy version but not too spicy and the shrimp fettuccine was the best I've ever eaten. The service was fast, accurate and very friendly. I can't wait to go there again!!
