Patty Boom Boom Reggae Pop-Up Could Return to Marvin in May - Eater DC
"Patty Boom Boom served as a major hub for Jamaican culture in D.C. It closed in 2015 but returned for one night in late February, attracting over 140 people. Former bartenders Tim Slayton and Jay Bynum organized the successful event and plan to make it a regular occurrence. The venue struggled financially due to rising rents in the gentrified neighborhood, but it was cherished as a place where Black people could gather, dance, and have fun." - Lenore Adkins
The patties downstairs are very good & the have D&G Ginger Beer (the BEST ginger beer in existence; non-alcoholic). The boom-boom upstairs plays great music with powerful bass (hence the name) and is a very social & friendly dance venue.
