Nice little coffee spot. Everything is Parisian themed. The gentleman behind the counter fixing the coffee was very bright, cheerful and nice. The lady on the other hand must have been having a not so good morning. She was a bit short but I must say I expect a bright and cheerful person that works in a bakery that opened only a few hours a day so maybe I am wrong. The lady was very dry and when my payment was processed I am sure she checked to see how much of a tip I had given. Her eyebrows went up for some reason? I was coming from an early dentist appointment and decided to try this place out. The pastries were good. Very 🧈 and light. I would definitely stop again if I am in the area. The coffee smelled sooo good I just didnt have time for it that day. They do have some outside seating.

Paul and Jack pastries and cakes are amazing: perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and extremely fresh. Their espresso (imported from Italy) is absolutely delicious. I've tried both their Americanos and iced latte, amazing every time🤌🏼 Carrot cake: 10/10 (not pictured) Dubai chocolate cheesecake: 10/10 Honey cake: 7.5/10 if you like honey cake you'll definitely love theirs (not pictured). Overall, this is my go to spot for coffee⭐️

If you are looking for the best pastries and baked goods in Raleigh, look no further! Delicious croissant! Very clean, plenty of seating, coffee options. The staff is so nice! The patio area is phenomenal on a nice day.

Overall the deserts we got were good but I’ve had better. The cinnamon roll was dry on the outside the Boston cream donut was disgusting it tasted like it had bacon in it. Very odd. The meringue, tart and pistachio raspberry croissant was good but too much filling for my liking. The crime brûlée was by far the best thing in the order. So yeah overall good but for the prices and what was enjoyed I don’t know if I’d go back.

We walked in 15 minutes after opening and were welcomed with the best aromas and a super helpful worker! Everything we got was delicious and we felt so taken care of! The filled Italian donut was an incredible experience as it was not overly sweet!

Google
Love this bakery! Their croissants and bombolini are amazing, with a wide selection to choose from. Service is great, the space is cozy and perfect for coffee and dessert. Everything is worth it, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
Instagram keep showing me this place and I don't live close, but it looked so good! I was in town and thought to try it. Very delicious! It was late in the day so the donuts were sold out unfortunately, but I got a bunch of stuff to try. Everything pictured came to about $65. That might be high for some, but I thought it was worth it. They did take cash. My family and I liked everything. I was thinking the ad stuffed the croissant and it wouldn't be like that when purchased. I was wrong as you can see from the photo, it was stuffed! Everything was soft and fresh. I will definitely return when I'm in town again, hopefully I can try a donut next time.

Google
Paul and Jack Bakery in downtown Raleigh is hands-down the best place for baked goods in the area! It is a true hidden gem! You won’t fully appreciate the magic of this spot until you visit it for yourself. Their menu is a treasure trove of top-notch treats, with standouts like the Basque cheesecake, guava pastry, and croissants that are nothing short of perfection. Everything here is crafted with such care and quality that you can’t go wrong, no matter what you choose. To top it all off, the owner, Jack, is an absolute delight. His warm, welcoming vibe and 200% dedication to customer service make every visit feel special. Paul and Jack is a must-visit for anyone craving exceptional baked goods and a memorable experience. Don’t miss out on this Raleigh gem!

Yelp
Dropped by Saturday to check out this satellite of a Wake Forest gourmet great. The line was long and I picked up custard-filled croissants. All were gorgeous, and the raspberry pistachio was particularly delicious. Seating outside, though be prepared for no shade.

Yelp
Late Sunday afternoon and we were in the mood for some good pastries! The shop was nice and clean. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. We had a pastel de nata, Brooki Oreo, triple chocolate and a creme brulee cheesecake. For drinks we ordered a matcha, coffee and an iced latte with brown butter cookie flavor. Full disclosure husband is Portuguese and been to Portugal a couple of times! The pastel de nata the flavor was rich and creamy, I thought I was back in Lisbon. We do wish it was a bit more crunchy but overall we would order it again! The creme brulee cheesecake was amazing! Our daughters loved their oreo brooki! The drinks were good too! The place is cute and has a few tables inside and it's a welcoming place for families with small children. Next time we are in Raleigh we will make sure we come back!! There was so many other things we want to try!

Yelp
This was the sort of place that made me wonder if I was in the wrong neighborhood, as it was a dead old warehouse area where I stepped over broken glass on the way in. However, the interior left little doubt that I was in the right place. The spread was majestic; all very sweet and rich looking pastries of styles from across Europe, including Italian cream donuts and a Portuguese egg tart. I assume they were good, but having spent $100 on a massive spread of said pastries, they were ultimately devoured by other people before I even got a shot at them.

Yelp
I really wanted to try this place and saw how packed it was when I came here around 12 pm on a Saturday! However, the line went by quickly which was nice. I got to try a few pastries and would say they were all good! I definitely wasn't expecting their pastries to have a lot of cream inside, which I'm thankful for. I especially liked my pistachio raspberry donut, which was a good mix of sweet and sour. I also tried their iced latte with tiramisu syrup which was fine in my opinion. It's a cute spot with some seating inside and outside.

Yelp
This bakery is phenomenal! Their pastries/desserts are delicious. They have a good amount of diverse desserts. There is something for everyone. The staff is warm and welcoming. The coffee and teas are good. Nice and clean interior. You must try this place. It is worth the trip.
google avatar

Yelp
Got some pastry's on a matcha--delicious! Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The building and entrance look like the bakery is in Normandy, France. Very fitting!
google avatar

Carmen C.

Yelp
The desserts are delicious. The service needs some getting used to. So be prepared for what you want to order. The location in Raleigh and Wake Forest are nice, but I would suggest the Raleigh location if you want to sit inside, this atmosphere is better.

Yelp
Such a beautiful bakery, filled with sweet aromas and welcoming smiles! A must visit! The bakery has European pastries, cake slices, mousse, cookies and other sweet treats along with coffee and teas. Everything we order was delicious!!! Not pictured Blue Ginger Tea 10/10 and Iced Mocha Latte 10/10. I will rate the items we purchased in the photos but our overall experience is a 5/5!

Tina B.

Yelp
Raspberry vanilla Cheesecake was light airy texture with just the right amount raspberry puree on top to balance graham cracker crust sweetness So many choices! Patient staff awaiting our order Pastel de nata was the perfect sized sweet to satisfy a breakfast craving with coffee Daughter raved about her pain au chocolat Enjoyed stopping after visiting the trolls in Dix park

Yelp
This new bakery has a plethora of options for every dessert craving. I wanted something light and fruity, so I went with the triple berry lemon croissant, and boy, was it filled. We cut the croissant to share, and it overflowed with what appeared to be lemon custard and berry compote. It satisfied my craving and was almost too sweet to finish in one sitting, so I'd recommend getting a cup of coffee or sharing. I also tried the mango passionfruit cheesecake, which was my first time experiencing that flavor combination in a cheesecake, and it was surprisingly good. The layer of mango passionfruit is just on top, so it's not mixed into the cheesecake. They had numerous pastries when we visited around 3 p.m., so I'm not sure if they keep many of the pastries for the next day, but their variety was almost overwhelming. They also offered chocolate mousse cakes, brookies, cinnamon rolls, honey cakes, panna cotta, tiramisu, and more. Not to mention, they have an eclectic drink menu. There are a few tables inside and outside for seating, but taking them to go is also a good option.

Yelp
Chocolate ganache croissant and lemon and jam croissant were perfect. Wow! The layers and crunch along with the smooth fillings were a treat. Service was superb. Anna greeted us warmly and the barista was very busy but moved thru the orders quickly. Loved the music and simple decor. Seating was subpar (wire/metal benches without cushions) so hopefully they improve on that front. Parking was easy. Good value, too, given the high quality of food and service.

Yelp
Full disclosure, my husband brought these home! He said the open kitchen was a nice keeper from Layered, and it was bustling! There were also more items, but I loved the three he brought: he said they were very well stocked! Now the food: (which I experienced first hand!) The strawberry vanilla croissant. The filling level is on the line of 'this is too much' and 'this is the best thing ever' and stays on the better side! The croissant is a FANTASTIC one, and the jam was super full flavored. The pastry cream was no where near too sweet, and that made it a perfectly balanced bite. Pistachio raspberry bomboloni was STRONG AND ASSERTIVE and so delightful. Pistachio was solidly flavorful and again the fruit: raspberry was sweet tart delicious. Dubai chocolate cheesecake: one complaint-a mess to eat. The pistachio fried esk layer was impossible to cut through without flattening the cheesecake which was so good but so very mousse like. We just took it off and cut a piece when we ate a piece of cheesecake and it was so so good. I don't care how messy I am at home, would be hard to eat there. Absolutely worth the ride the trip whatever from Greensboro.

Yelp
Ambiance, staff, coffee, and the incredible cinnamon was to die for! Will be returning again. Thanks so much!

Yelp
Definitely must try spot if you have a sweet tooth. Plenty of flavor to choose from. I got couple of donuts and some other pastries. Creme brûlée donut was delicious, with custard filling, which was not overwhelmingly sweet. Donuts are soft and fluffy.

Yelp
Losing Layered Croissanterie was a huge blow to my foodie heart but when I heard Paul and Jack was opening up a second location here, I felt just a bit better. This European style bakery specializes in bombolos (donuts), brookies (brownie-cookies) and more. I think they are even keeping some of the old Layered croissants but I gotta say, it will be hard to match them. But overall it's a great assortment of sweets, their bombolos are full of filling whether that be fruit, cream, or chocolate, delish! And I'm looking forward to trying more off their menu and saving me the extra miles to their original Wake Forest location. So here's to mending my broken heart with delicious pastries from the new Paul & Jack Bakery, Raleigh!

Peggy A.

Yelp
The creme brulee pasty was delish! Our favorites were the bluberry lemon & strawberry cream filled

Yelp
I've been here a few times and haven't been disappointed! Their caramel sauce is sooo yummy. I got a caramel vanilla croissant that was great. The pecan caramel cheesecake was delicious! Their pain au chocolat was good as well, just wish it had more chocolate in it. I've also tried several latte flavors. I love the maple honey syrup and the brown butter cookie syrup. They have new items every time I go which makes it exciting and easy to try something new.
google avatar

Violet E.

Yelp
The bakery items here are divine. Today, my friends and I sampled the raspberry/pistachio bombolini, the pastel de nata, and the Basque cheesecake. All 3 were not too sweet and provided the sugar we needed after a long, hot run. My favorite was the item I ordered, the Basque cheesecake. It was not too sweet and hit the spot for some protein. I liked that the bottom crust wasn't too sweet either but provided a nice texture contrast to the cheesecake. I am so happy I was introduced to Paul and Jack through Yelp Elite and was able to come back.

Emily G.

Yelp
Delicious! Easy parking. On a rainy Tuesday morning, I ordered a chocolate croissant (pain au chocolat) and an iced brown butter cookie latte. Both were delicious. I would definitely return.
google avatar

Jillian S.

Yelp
Flaky buttery croissants and flavorful stuffed bomboloni! I need to visit earlier in the day to try some of their other options. I arrived around 12 pm and there were still adequate options. However, based on the other review photos, there are many more options earlier in the day. I chose a butter croissant ($5), pain au chocolat ($5), and strawberry vanilla bomboloni ($4). The croissants had the perfect flaky texture and rich, buttery flavor. The pain au chocolat just needed a little more chocolate. The bomboloni had a good texture and was full of berry vanilla filling (mainly vanilla). It actually had more filling than i preferred. We were unimpressed by the drinks, but we would return for the pastries.

Yelp
Right away when you walk in you're able to see the staff working in kitchen. I think it's a great touch and you can see the love they put into all of the amazing baked goods. I got the cinnamon bun with icing, the croissant and the Biscoff cookie. The croissant was still perfectly warm when I got home, buttery and flaky. Next time I'm getting the mozzarella stuffed one. The cinnamon roll was also perfect, soft and just the right amount of gooey in the center. But hands down the Biscoff cookie was the best! They put a good scoop in the middle and you get a great cookie butter pull!!

Yelp
Great little bakery serving European style pastries and specialty beverages. We came to order items to go but did note that there was some seating inside and out. The decor is simple and modern. Everything we ordered was well made and flavorful. You could definitely tell that they use quality ingredients which is appropriately reflected in the process. Service was attentive and accommodating.

Yelp
My daughter and I met my wife for lunch here based off of Yelp reviews and are so glad we did. We drove an hour north from the Fort Bragg area and the different pastries, tea and coffee were amazing. The staff personnel were very professional and pleasant. The bakers were focused on their craft and were hard at work making more delicious items. The shop smells sweet and inviting. After we finished our meal my wife bought 6 items for her office downtown and I both 12 items for the senior soldiers working in my office. We look forward to coming back in the near future.

Yelp
Love this bakery! I frequent the Raleigh location and love the freshness of the of gourmet desserts and pastries. There's indoor and outdoor seating for folks visiting. It has a true cafe vibe. So far I've visited for coffee and pastries with my favorite so far being the cannoli. The coffee is always fresh with a bit of creaminess if you opt for a latte or another beverage with dairy. The cannoli is pretty signature with one end filled with dark chocolate chips and the other with crushed pistachios, and then the inside is layered with dark chocolate chips. Surprisingly, the cream is not overly sweet at all so you can truly enjoy this treat without experiencing a sugar rush. The service is always helpful and attentive. The staff are ready to answer any questions to help you decide on your treats. Parking can be a pain during peak times but you can typically find a spot in the lot or on the street. Def a gem in the Raleigh area!

Yelp
so good! lots of drink flavors, even a black sesame latte, my favorite! the bombolonis all looked delicious and we tried the creme brûlée flavor
google avatar

Yelp
The pistachio baklava was so tasty!! Also got the brookie which was good and they warm it up in the store!
google avatar

Alan B.

Yelp
We ordered a raspberry cheesecake and it was delicious. Found this place on social media and it didn't disappoint. They had a bit of a line but it moved quickly. The selection was extensive. We will be back to try the croissants filled with berries and vanilla cream.
google avatar

Jenny M.

Yelp
Came back here to try the new bakery. We ordered a pastel de nata, croissant, guava pastry, and this cheesy bread thing. We got some lattes. I was like a kid in a candy store: so many choices!! Every thing looked beautiful, moist, authentic. As i was sipping my iced latte i heard the sounds of 40s tunes while taking a bite of that guava pastry....ah :) what a delicious moment. Great place to come and devour pastries!!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow! Wow! And Wow! I've seen this place all over SM and finally got a chance to try it. It was AMAZING! SM got it right! First the service- DIVINE. Sergei educated me on all the favorites and told me how they were made. He was so kind. The place is small but there are a few tables for eating in. Now for the great part - THE PASTRIES are everything you'd hope a dessert would be - decadent, delicious, fresh and flavorful. I ordered a plain croissant, a croissant with chocolate ganache, a pistacho and raspberry bombalini, and a creme brulee bombalini (GET THIS ONE NOW). Seriously. The dough was light and airy and the fillings were light, creamy and not too sweet. You can absolutely tell everything is homemade and made with care. In the back you can see the staff making the pastries from scratch! I know one for sure I will be back to sample them all!! . Gym membership loading as well. Get the creme brulee!!! I also had a brown cookie butter iced latte. It was good as well. So what are you waiting for? Get over there and save some for me.

Yelp
This is such a cute location and cute bakery! While being in town to visit friends, we stopped here on our way to run errands. The display case is full of sweet treats to try. I ended up getting the spinach croissant and a coffee, my friends also got coffee and pastries. I wish I had room to try the baklava cheesecake. I will make sure to come back and visit so I can try!

Nancy J.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to go here on Veterans Day Tuesday and it was not crowded. So many choices made it hard to choose just two. We had a delectable apple streusel that was so much like a talented friend from Germany made once. Also an Almond Brookie. Both outstanding with an Espresso!

Emily S.

Yelp
Super kind staff, very clean store, love that you can see the bakery items get made. We got our food and drinks quickly and it was all delicious!
google avatar

Agnieszka B.

Yelp
I really liked the pistachio and raspberry croissant, it was very stuffed and flaky. The coffee wasn't my favorite, my latte was a little more bitter than I would have liked, but the location was very cute and there was plenty of space to sit and work.

Harold B.

Yelp
Such delicious desserts. The German chocolate cake was very moist and had great flavor but my absolute favorite was the meringue roll, it was so light and airy with not too sweet filling. Please keep them always in stock because I have to come back for another meringue roll.

David L.

Yelp
Such amazing collection of artisanal desserts in a beautiful display case. We went in intending to purchase three things to sample at home and had a difficult time narrowing the options down. Finally had to ask what their most popular items are because it all looked so good. We landed on the baklava cheesecake, dulce de leche bombolina and a Oreo Brookie. All were to die for. Cute setting with coffee drinks and a few tables inside. Free street parking. Hope they add some tables outside!
google avatar

Jasmine H.

Yelp
This has became my favorite bakery in Raleigh. When I first went, I tried the cheese croissant that was flaky and delicious. I returned with a friend and we split a few of their specialty croissants I can't remember what flavor but it was one of the fruity ones and it was also tasty and we also had the bisque cheesecake that was pretty good. On my visit today I had the last Hachapuri with egg. It was my first time trying it since they didn't have the cheese croissant available. I figured this would be a good alternative and I was absolutely right! Staff is pretty friendly and nice and pretty fast when it gets busy. I've also tried their iced coffee and it was OK. It's small in the inside but enough for you to grab a table with a few friends or family members. There's also a bit of outside seating but I'm unclear if that is for the restaurant next-door. I love coming in here with a good book. It always smells fantastic. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Cassidy W.

Yelp
10/10 coffee and pastries are amazing! The service is so good and although it's super busy on weekends they keep it clean. The long lines move fast but are definitely worth the wait!

zoie z.

Yelp
so good, wish i ordered more. service was fantastic. i ordered a blueberry lemon croissant and a black sesame latte. cant wait to try more pastries! will definitely come back and recommend this place to people!
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing!! We tried the Mango Mousse, Chocolate Ganache Cheesecake and the Almond Brookie and all were Outstanding!!! I can't wait to come back again! Also, the service was friendly and fast!
google avatar

Leah W.

Yelp
amazing pain au chocolat. did not enjoy the cinnamon rolls with cream cheese, but maybe the non-cream cheese ones would be good
google avatar

Holly M.

Yelp
The most delicious pastries and coffee! I took my family here when they were visiting from out of state and we were all SO impressed. We will all be back soon. The staff was so friendly and we are so happy to have this new business in our downtown!
google avatar

Kassidy W.

Yelp
Went here to get a change of scenery while working remote. I tried the tiramisu iced coffee and it was delicious!
google avatar

Martin G.

Yelp
Wow. As if we were back in France. Even the aroma upon entry brings back that core memory. The pastries are authentic and are filled to perfection. I had the pistachio croissant with raspberry filling. My wife had the chocolate ganache croissant. Heavenly. Perfect café Americanos as well. We were weak and brought home more pastries for later. Not having self-control can be a virtue.

ANGELIQUE V.

Yelp
Service is wonderful, the pastries shine bright like a diamond! I wish I lived closer but I'm willing to make the drive. What I love is that the pastries aren't overly sweet, they are perfect !

L S.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday morning and it was an OK experience but I probably would not return. The chocolate ganache croissant and crème brûlée doughnut were way too over stuffed with cream so they were really hard to eat and we didn't even finish them. My iced coffee wasn't mixed at all and even after I tried to mix it, it wasn't mixed enough to drink. There were no seats open inside because it was so busy so we had to sit outside in almost 90 degree weather. I had my toddler with me. There were a bunch of flies so that combined with the heat made it for a very unpleasant experience.

Michele L.

Yelp
love all their pastries! great place! great customer service. very clean and great ambiance!
