I thought this was a small hole-in-the-wall! It's actually bigger than I imagined and has great service and great food. The first time we were here with some friends and had the hamburger... so good! Big patty and almost too much for me... but I ate it all!. My wife and I came back the next day and sat in the bar. I tried a couple of beers as well as some tasters of others. I liked them all. My wife and I shared a Ceaser salad, fresh greens, and a nice dressing. The pizza was good quality pizza that I'll have again. It's going to be a place I'll come to often!

Uff! Ate here when it was Rock Elm, tried again shortly after the Paulie’s takeover, and more recently with the updated menu. The food is TERRIBLE, not sure who the chef de cuisine is (probably “Paulie”) but just yuck. We had appetizers and got outta there. Cold Bruschetta on untoasted bread that tasted more like cheese bread, ok. Fried avocado covered in Nashville Hot breading, wtf - buffalo cauliflower might work but this was a hot mess. Lastly the “fancy tots” were so laughably short of fancy. Add too much cheese to something that resembles a hash brown and roll it into a ball. Not sure whose palate is running this place but they should be fired. Service is on par with the flavors of the dishes, “unique” and all together terrible. There’s a pickle ball court across the street, do yourself a favor and go there instead, you’ll get better food and service at the pour your own bar, at far better prices.

We reserved the party room for a group of 15. The room has plenty of space for 30-40 if needed. We had a wonderful experience with friendly and professional service. Paulie himself welcomed our group and told us the story of the restaurant and stirred up our appetites while talking about many of their offerings. He clearly loves what he’s doing and wants customers to have a great experience. The food was excellent. Everything was fresh and tasty. Portions were generous. Starters were so good. The fried avocado, sesame ahi, fancy tots, wings, bruschetta, cheese curds, were all great. I want to retune with some friends to enjoy a few starters over drinks together. My favorites were the sesame ahi (melts in your mouth) and the fancy tots. For my main course, I ordered the Bucatini with Meatballs. Everything tasted fresh. The portion was beyond generous (I took 1/2 of it home). My wife was smarter and ordered a 1/2 Strawberry Spinach salad with chicken (adding protein is an additional expense). Smart because after all of the starters it was a more reasonable portion of food. I also enjoyed their Old Fashioned. Exactly what an Old Fashioned is supposed to be. I heard good things about the pizza and might opt for that next time. The menu offers a wide range of options - something for everyone. I encourage you round up some friends or family and give Paulie’s a try if you haven’t already.

We come to Paulie’s often, and a big reason we keep coming back is because of the incredible staff, especially Mike the bartender! His service is always top-notch—attentive, friendly, and professional. Not to mention, his drinks are out of this world. The Old Fashioned is perfectly crafted every time, but the Campfire Old Fashioned is a true standout! If you’re at Paulie’s, be sure to ask for one of his signature drinks—you won’t be disappointed!

The food, here is absolutely wonderful. I have not ordered anything that was not really good. My favorite is the candied bacon 🥓 , Bruschetta or the sweet and savory burger. However, they do need more people serving and tending to the bar. The bar has a great menu, but is often really backed up and it takes a while to get your drinks.

First time here and we’ll be back. The ahi tuna appetizer was really tasty. Perfect sized portion as well, be sure to ask for extra chips. The beet salad was good. A bit too much feta cheese IMO, but it was a nice light salad. I paired it with salmon for my protein. It was cooked how I like, some might consider it a bit over done. Don’t recall what the past was called. The flavor was good, but it was over cooked. I’d suggest adding a breadstick or something to go with it. E we were at the counter at the bartender was really nice. 😊

We had high hopes for this place and the food and drinks photograph well. However, the taste and quality were a completely different story. The beef stroganoff was more so a soup. The noodles were literally floating in a watery pool of sauce. The flavor was ok, but that's not what a stroganoff should look like. The salmon was very fishy and metallic tasting-a sign of old fish. The salad was drenched in dressing and soggy. My cocktail was overloaded with mint, so much so that it was all I could taste. The bread pudding had a strange, grainy texture. The lemon cake was actually very good and I did enjoy their version of brussell sprouts! My stepson enjoyed the walleye tacos. We had such a disappointing experience with our food and drinks during our first visit, the owner gave us a $25 gift card to come back and try again. We did. Our next visit we ordered the walleye pictured on top of a bed of fries. Why put a steaming piece of fish on top of fries that you want to remain crispy and not taste like the fish? Also, the fish was horrible. It tasted like refrigerator odor and the crust had an almost unchewable texture. I'm not able to eat fish right now because I can't get that meal out of my head, and the thought of it makes me nauseous. I ordered a mojito and was served some sort of martini. It was a hot day and we were sitting on the patio. I was looking forward to an icey drink with a bit of mulled fruit and mint. When I questioned the waitress about a possible mistake with my drink order, she told me it was a twist on a mojito. What?? I ordered a mojito, not a martini. She had my drink remade, and the 2nd version was a very good mojito. Overall, my husband and I were extremely disappointed twice at this restaurant. Unfortunately, we won't be back.
