Paul’s Daughter is a classic Coney Island boardwalk spot serving fried clams, lobster rolls, soft serve, and cold beer with a chill beach vibe.
"Paul’s Daughter is a long stall on the boardwalk that has just about anything you might want to eat after watching your friend beat a six-year-old at Whac-A-Mole. You’ll find everything from pizza and hot dogs to sausage heroes and fried clams here—but the lobster roll and fried jumbo shrimp are our favorites. Eat some of these things with a beer at a standing table on the boardwalk, then get some soft serve to take to the beach, a few feet away." - neha talreja, bryan kim, matt tervooren, kenny yang
"Paul’s Daughter is one of the oldest spots on the boardwalk. Currently operated by the original owner’s daughter, Tina, they serve up clams on the half shell, lobster rolls, hot dogs, and cold beer. Though recently renovated, it still has the classic signage with signature lettering." - work x work
"Paul’s Daughter is a beachside stall in Coney Island that’s been around since the ‘50s, and it’s our favorite place to spend the golden hour enjoying frozen margaritas and a lobster roll. They serve other things like pizza and sausage heroes, but we recommend sticking to the seafood. Maybe it's just because we can see the ocean while we eat them, but their clams seem fresher and more expertly shucked than at the other spots, and the lobster roll has a bright, herbaceous flavor. They have a few tables and a small bar area to the side where you can watch the sunset." - Neha Talreja
"This boardwalk institution has regaled Coney Island with corn dogs, soft serve ice cream, as well as raw and fried clams for 60 years. The raw clam service, a Coney Island tradition, is especially good, featuring a half-dozen, freshly-opened hard-shell clams on the half shell served with a lemon wedge — not exactly what you’d expect from a place specializing in fried foods. Paul’s is open six months of the year, up until mid-autumn; if closed, traipse on over to Nathan’s Famous, which also offers raw clams." - Robert Sietsema
"If you don’t enjoy soft serve, then we’re not sure why you’re reading this guide, and if you don’t enjoy soft serve at the beach, then you need to do some soul-searching. Our go-to spot in Coney Island is right on the boardwalk at Paul’s Daughter. Get chocolate and vanilla swirl in a cone and wash off in the water after a quarter of it melts all over your hands." - hannah albertine, emma, bryan kim, katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg, matt tervooren
