The Best Chaat Shops and Chaat Trucks in Sunnyvale and the South Bay - Eater SF

"This food truck off Lawrence Avenue is well known for its traditional tawa-cooked pav bhaji. The proprietors imported their tawa, a large flat griddle used to cook pav bhaji, from India to keep things as traditional as possible. The namesake dish consists of pav (a soft roll) and bhaji, a spicy tomato-based vegetable mixture cooked with a delicious amount of Indian-made Amul butter. The truck is open for takeout and delivery via Doordash. A restaurant location also opened recently in Fremont." - Hetal Vasavada

Interesting place that serves a very limited menu - All dishes made on a tawa. The Pav Bhaji is pretty good - With a decent spice to it. Enjoyed the Tawa Pulav a lot as well! The place is pretty big for the menu they have - Ample seating, clean tables and you can see the food being made live. The food is served pretty quickly and the complex has free parking.

Food was so hot it burnt my mouth for days. Nothing wrong with taste though but they could have warned that the Vada in vada Pav is extremely hot like literally burned upper pallet. Taking two stars off for that.

This was our first time getting food from this food truck. We had the Pav Bhaji and it was very good. It was very flavorful with lots of different spices. We haven't had pav before, so we didn't know what to expect. It's like a very thick soup.

A very small menu, so easy choices to make and you won't be disappointed with the choices. Portion size is huge for pav bhaji, prefer ordering extra pav. Very flavorful and hot off the pan. Vada Pav was equally delicious, although i would suggest some extra spice to the vada pav. Lassi was good. place was clean and service was great. Certainly a must try. And if you have never tried pav bhaji before, certainly a good place to try it.

Well well..you can't expect Indian taste Pav Bhaji in the USA.. but fair enough taste I found in Spice street.. Pav Bhaji name is enough for Indian food lover.. a little bit disappointed but ok.. large dining area.. good and friendly staff.. moderate taste.. over all I liked it..

The place had an overwhelming smell of toilet bowl cleaner when I entered, which was an immediate turn-off. I was really looking forward to the pav bhaji, and the cashier was incredibly sweet and welcoming. However, the food was a complete letdown. The bread was totally stale, and the curry tasted like it had been sitting for days. It lacked the freshness I was hoping for and just wasn't the yummy experience I remember. Looks can be deceiving

Just had pav bhaji here. It was extremely salty. The non spicy version was quite spicy. The pav was hard. You have to literally buy water here. Overall ambience was not bad. I don’t plan to come here again. Not recommended.

Originally from pune, bombay who once ate only vada pav/pav bhaji as a meal. Friend suggested this place as its popular on social media. I tried pav bhaji and vada pav. The regular pav bhaji is spicy enough so the spicy one has to be for those who dont have taste buds. Good: The bhaji and vada were good. The vada was a bit too salty though Bad: The reason I gave 3 stars is an average of 4 stars for bhaji/vada and 2 stars for pav. The pav is most disappointing. Its not the authentic ladi pav. Its not hard making as i make it at home. The pav here tastes like cheap, mass produced pav. So probably the last visit for me until they improve their pav game
