On the Grid : Pavement Coffeehouse

"If you're looking for a change of pace from Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts, look no further. Pavement has a great selection of breakfast/lunch bagel sandwiches and coffee (we personally recommend the Tequila Sunrise and the Hello Lila). It's a cozy spot that's funky and has rotating art. Great spot to read a book or catching up on some work." - Amalgam

The Best Bagels in Boston | Eater Boston

"Pavement Coffeehouse’s bagel roots date back to the now-renamed Bagel Rising that first opened at this same location in Allston in 2002. Owner Lawrence Margulies began selling his bagels wholesale to three Espresso Royale Caffes, before buying them out and later converting them — and Bagel Rising — into Pavements. Now with eight locations around Boston, there’s more opportunity than ever to embrace the glory of a Tequila Sunrise bagel sandwich, with bacon, egg, diablo cream cheese, and pico de gallo. Pavement’s bagels are kettle-boiled before baking to prevent too much rise while maintaining moisture, producing a dense and chewy bagel." - Valerie Li Stack

I was in need of a quick brunch and was happy to find this place while walking around. I got the egg and cheese on a rosemary salt bagel. Honestly, the rosemary and salt taste overpowered any of the cheese and egg taste. The bagel was full of wonderful rosemary taste, but it was a bit too salty. The egg was more of a hunk of scrambled egg than a smoother, curd-like egg that I prefer. But it was filling. I’d come again for the bagel, just the bagel since it’s super overpowering in flavor.

Very pricey. Food/pastries are okay. My iced vanilla latte was expensive and underwhelming.
