D.C. Restaurateur Heads to James Beard House for ‘Food Network Star’ Reunion - Eater DC

"The Pavilion Café in the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden just added extended evening treats available until the skating rink closes on Sunday, March 11. In addition to flatbreads, soups, and sandwiches from its daytime winter menu, there’s now appetizers such as chicken satay with sunflower butter sauce, soft pretzels with beer cheese dip, warm spinach, and artichoke dip ($7 to $11). Featured beverages include $5 wine, sparkling rosé, and draft beer." - Tierney Plumb

Great experience! Excellent food! Lots of different choices! Desserts are so good! Friendly staff! The place was packed and we got our food in no time at all! Their chili was so good and the grilled cheese with fig and arugula was incredibly delicious!! 10 outta 10!!

Seems like the only spot to grab food around here. They have a small variety of salads and croissants. And a great coffee selection. We enjoyed the view of the ice-skating rink from there. They also have public restrooms and a water fountain to refill your water bottle.

Sandwiches was great. Taste was perfect, ingredients were fresh. Each sandwich comes with a chips. Service was excellent and fast. Atmosphere was very clean, full of light and relaxing. We loved the sandwiches and we got one more for our dinner.

I recently visited this coffee shop and was disappointed by the cakes. They had an off-putting smell, reminiscent of being stored in the fridge for too long, which suggests they might not be fresh. While the coffee was decent, the unpleasant aroma of the cakes made it hard to enjoy. I hope they address this issue to improve the overall experience.

It's a very nice little cafe practically hidden among modern sculptures. Seating is somewhat limited inside, but terrace seating is a great choice on a nice weather day. I enjoyed my Southwest BBQ Chicken Flatbread very much. It was very tasty. I even received a favorable comment from a passerby as I sought my seat under an umbrella outside. My wife had a vegetable and cheese quiche. It was also a very tasty dish, and it came with a fruit cup as a side. We concluded that this Cafe provides decent food. Prices are not too bad considering this location in the National Mall (you'll spend more money at food trucks, and food is much better here). When you might need some respite from all your visits to various museums, this place fits your bill. Highly recommended!

It was really expensive, the bread was dry on the kids sandwiches (my kids wouldn’t eat it), and they were out of the sandwich we wanted. The art nouveau building was neat though.

A small cafe in a beautiful park. Enclosed by glass walls ensuring a good view from any seat in the house, this cafe offers indoor and outdoor seating in an incredible setting - the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. For the most part, light eats and handhelds with a variety of hot and cold beverages - adult beverages available. One orders up front or online and takes it to your seat when called. Can be very busy in the summer!
