"A Stunning Glass Dining Room in a Landmark Hotel Baur au Lac, the grande dame of Bahnhofstrasse hotels open since 1844, is home to the city's most beautiful restaurant, with a stunning glass gazebo with Lalique chandeliers overlooking the hotel’s private park. Chef Laurent Eperon’s dishes are mostly contemporary takes rooted in French technique, though the menu has a special “Veau Suisse” section that includes a meltingly tender glazed veal knuckle that's been cooked overnight."

"Star architect Pierre-Yves Rochon designed this elegant restaurant and the almost 360° glazed rotunda with its country views is wonderful. The exquisite classic cuisine is prepared by Laurent Eperon and includes dishes such as roast sea bass with Périgord truffles." - The MICHELIN Guide

The space is warm and inviting, striking a balance between elegance and comfort. The food is exceptional—every dish prepared with precision, using high-quality ingredients that shine without unnecessary complexity What truly stood out was the service. The attentiveness of the staff is on another level—always present yet never intrusive, anticipating needs before they’re expressed. Every moment of the meal feels seamless, a reflection of their professionalism and genuine hospitality. The presentation, especially with the desserts, is just as impressive—elevated yet never overdone. A restaurant where both the food and service work in perfect harmony, making for an experience that stands out in every way.

Great french inspired cuisine in a sophisticated atmosphere. The service alone is worth the visit, everyone is extremely polite, friendly and professional. The 9 course tasting menu is worth trying, but beware the wine pairing: the wines are excellent, but don't order it unless you can drink a lot! The small chocolates at the end were incredible. Overall, it was the perfect place to celebrate!

I ended my trip to Switzerland with one of the finest at Pavilion. Located in the historical Baur au Lac Hotel on lake Zurich. This place is classy and swanky, may be a little flashy. Classic decor with a modern touch. High celiengs, big chandeliers, large windows, purple chairs and big colorful flowers bouquets elegantly welcome the guests & sets the mood to indulge in a Chef tasting menu with some modern twists and Swiss influences. Service here is professional and warm, staff was nice and attentive. Food courses were all on point, presented well and exceptionally tasty. Desserts were the cherry on the top and what you exactly expect from the French influenced cuisine. Wine pairing enhanced the flavors and heightened the experience. Overall, I left content and satisfied. Looking forward for another visit.

We were lucky enough to visit while the theme of the tasting menu was truffles: every dish had either a hint, a shape or was inspired by truffles. Everything was out of this world. By the end of the experience, we were full and extremely happy. The wine pairings were brilliant and we got explained each of them what we should expect and a little bit of details about the wine and why it’s paired that way. Everything was amazing, it is very pricy but it is worth as an experience. We were treated so well all of our evening.

I'm here once a year, mostly on my birthday to celebrate with my love ones. The staffs are very very polite. The service is top! The food is delicious. The atmosphere is quite and calm. They deserve 5 stars :)

We had our wedding anniversary dinner last night and true to all the reviews this was a 💯 fantastic experience. We've been to a few michelin star restaurants but this is quite simply THE best. We had nine course with wine pairing. Every single course was better than the next. In the future though we may have less wine as by the end of the night we got too giggly, a little bit loud and dizzy for our own good!! 😄😂 The service is also truly next level. The staff were incredibly attentive and consider things to make your experience better (even before you thought of it). This is Swiss hospitality at It's finest. One can never go wrong at Baur au lac. Compliments to the entire staff for making this experience wonderful. They are extremely professional and warm at the same time. We will be back! Thank you for making our anniversary special ❤

We came here for our anniversary dinner and it was everything we hoped it would be, and more. I wanted to know the difference between one star Michelin and two stars - and the differences are notable. The food is more elevated, more creative and delicious, and the wine pairings are perfection. We had the nine course menu with wine pairing - the price is worth every penny. Next time, though, we’ll choose less as it was quite a lot of food and drinking more than one bottle of wine per person was a bit much 😂 The staff pays so much attention to every detail and ensures your visit is special. Even when I went to the washroom, I was welcomed back and seated with a new napkin. Thank you for making our anniversary so special. We hope to come again soon.

A really hip place to hangout, nice summer terrace. Food is good. The staff are friendly but I had to wait for a long time for the wine (she forgot the order). Seems like they’re understaff. But really a nice place to meet friends and enjoy the summer weather under the shade of the trees.

Yelp
Overall, this was a great experience! It started off with one host walking us to our table, and another host walked in front of me and stood in my way, which I thought was super rude. She should have been more conscious of her surroundings. But it only went up from there. I won't go into detail about every dish, but my favorites included truffle. Also, they have a basil croissant that was out of this world. Paired with their brown butter - omg, my mouth is watering just from thinking of it. Also, there plating was impeccable. Makes me really want to invest in a pair of food tweezers. The detail that goes into it is amazing! Comparatively, I thought this place was pretty well priced. It's 205 CHF/person for a 9 course menu (so either that, or you're spending $50 for 2 people at Mcdonalds). I choose Pavillon 100%.

Yelp
It was truly an incredible experience - my wife and I choose the tasting menu with a wine pairing that was perfect for the food. From the goat cheese, pork belly to the sea bass and veal tenderloin, it was amazing. The presentation was beautiful and service (Alexandria) was well paced and attentive. It was probably a little more than we needed for a final night in Europe but the food, service and experience surpassed our expectations! 4 1/2 stars! Their wine list is amazing. A beautiful restaurant with lovely flower arrangements. I highly recommend!

Yelp
A beautiful and exquisite restaurant. Delightful cuisine that amazes the tastes. The portions are somewhat small and expect high prices, but worth it due to impeccable service and brilliant dishes. The wine selections paired with their food choices were spot on and the extra chef dishes provided made the evening even more enjoyable. Highly worth it for the taste experience, high quality service and the ambience.

Yelp
For purely sentimental reasons of the heart and the wonderful scene from "Barefoot in the Park" the best restaurant that I have ever sat in was the old Tavern on the Green in New York City. My head tells me that this restaurant is the classiest restaurant I have ever been too and is my new number one. This is the kind of place that you go to, order a one hundred franc bottle of wine, and look out over the Limmat River and feel like your hard work has paid off. Is it worth the astronomical price? The answer is a resounding no; however, if you are sometimes into treating yourself to things that you really can't afford Zurich is the city and this is the restaurant. The only thing missing are gondolas on the Limmat. I have no idea how this restaurant is not rated in the top three in Zurich. The terrace is unbelievable, the service is incredible and there is no need to look at a menu, trust me start with the veal tartare and then have langoustine. This is one fine restaurant but bring the platinum card.

Yelp
Went for lunch to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant is beautiful. The food was not as mind-blowing as expected, but good. Ordered the truffle ravioli to start and it was the best part of the meal. Then had the tasting lunch. Wife's kabocha (pumpkin) soup was too salty and lacked the natural sweetness of Japanese kabocha (she's from Japan). Her boiled fish entree was neither meaty nor flaky, just kind of soft. My smoked fish was delicate and amazing flavor. My roast duck was very tough and fibrous. Amazingly it wasn't that gamey so kudos on that, but it was hard to chew. I give the stars for the service. The entire waitstaff were just a pleasure from beginning to end. They were formal/professional/sharp without being too solemn/pretentious, and we had a great time with them.

Yelp
For a michelin star restaurant we expected our meal to be pricey but we did not expect mediocre service. We were disappointed by some of our side dishes and we were less than impressed with some aspects of our main entree. My husband and I had made dinner reservations for Friday night. While we were seated right away, we sat there for over five minutes without being approached by any of the wait staff to see if we wanted a drink or even to give us a menu. While we were waiting for someone to notice us, we were able to take in the beautiful dome ceiling and our elegant and classy surroundings but already our experience was marred by the fact that at a restaurant where we expected to have a phenomenal meal and service, we felt as though we were being ignored right away. I have dragged my husband to many fine dining restaurant and this was the first time where I was questioning if we should think about going elsewhere for dinner if no one came to our table. We did finally get some service and then our restaurant experience started to look like it was going to be getting better. We loved our amuse bouches, we did think it was a nice touch of the kitchen to keep coming out with little teasers for our palates. We ordered starters of the hamachi and octopus terrine. We loved the presentation and were very happy with our appetizer choices. For our entree, we ordered the veal shank which took 40 minutes to prepare. Our waiter told us the wait would be worth it. I would have to say we had mixed feeling about our veal shank. While the meat was tender and cooked very well (perhaps sous vide style?) the gravy that accompanied our veal shank was too thick and lacked any type of flavor. The marrow which I was most looking forward to, was way over salted. The same goes for the creamed spinach. I mean this is a michelin star restaurant, I would not expect anything to taste like a salt shaker at a restaurant of this caliber. I think someone in the kitchen really likes salt because our amuse buse of soup was also over salted and I could only stomach two sips before I gave up. We did love our dessert and the complimentary little dessert bites that came after our dessert so great compliments to the pastry chef. I only wish I could say the same to the main chef. Also we had to ask twice for our bill and after the first time we asked, we must have waited at our table for at least ten minutes before we had to flag our waiter down and ask for the bill again. That and how we were treated at the beginning of our experience left a bad taste in our mouth. If we were in a different type of restaurant, I would not have such high expectations for service, but this is such a restaurant known for its food and service, is it not??? For the price of this meal, we left utterly disappointed. Don't waste your time or your money here. There are much better michelin star restaurants elsewhere.
