Find the 10 Best Frozen Drinks in Charleston - Eater Carolinas

"Hush puppies, biscuits, and frosé? Modern Southern restaurant Pawpaw’s version of the beverage — known as the Call an Uber Frozé — is elevated with the addition of Giffard Pamplemousse, a pink grapefruit liqueur. The spacious bar area is a great place to cool down while watching the East Bay Street tourists stroll by." - Parker Milner

Best Charleston Restaurants to Bring Parents - Eater Carolinas

"This East Bay Street eatery is Southern at its core, but a modern approach enhances familiar dishes. Start with cheddar-bacon hush puppies with wildflower honey or Brussels sprouts tossed in an apricot chili glaze before choosing a main dish like the juicy fried chicken." - Parker Milner

Made a lunchtime reservation, but probably didn’t need it. Food was really good - I ordered chicken tenders, same breading as the fried chicken. Amazing. I also ordered fried pickles, their sauce is slightly sweet, not was I was expecting. Staff was very friendly. Bananas pudding dessert good, but slightly bland - I was expecting more flavor. Overall, would go again.

Some street parking and a parking lot not too far away. We got there right when they opened. It took awhile as I was the first one to show up and the server didn't greet me until about 5 or so minutes later. I do recommend the Fried pickles, those were delicious. Friendly server overall but food did take some time. Everyone else's food came but my shrimp and grits didn't come until we mentioned it but I got my food probably 7-10 minutes later than everyone else. Food was good, I had some of my fiances beef Brisket hash and that was delicious as well.

Service here was excellent, I personally prefer the service of not too talkative servers and that was exactly what I received. The food is also, of course extremely high quality. The biscuits are heavenly along with the honey butter, jam, and pimento cheese. The burger I order was cooked to medium as requested as was excellent along with the rest of the toppings. The fries however were the only thing I would consider to be satisfactory at best as they seemed to have been battered instead of a more traditional fry. Overall an excellent choice for dinner and it was not too crowded as well.

Excellent service, nice ambience and wonderful flavors. They accommodated our gluten-free requests for celiac diners in our party. Happy to report that 24 hours later we were okay and there was no contamination. The frozé and their signature hard lemonade were delicious. The Mac and cheese and Ahi tuna starters were excellent. The mains were fantastic -- fish plate and shrimp+grits were tasty but rich. Salads had a nice flavor. We will definitely return on our next visit.

I came hear with my girlfriend for a nice night out on the town. Make sure to get reservations in advanced because seating can be a little difficult. We ended up sitting at the bar which did serve a full menu so that was great. The cocktails are on the small side for how much they cost in my opinion. Great food and great atmosphere makes us for must stop in Charleston

We were traveling with our dog and figured if we saw a spot with outdoor eating, we wouldn’t have to return our dog to the car. My husband ordered the steak and fries and I ordered the salmon. Not only were we asked how we wanted our proteins cooked , they were also cooked to those specifications. My salmon was actually the best salmon I’ve ever had at a restaurant!!! Our waiter was prompt, efficient and friendly. Great place! Thanks!

Great lunch at pawpaw last week. Everything we had was amazing. The hush puppies and Mac and cheese may have been the best we have ever had! Service was excellent (the best we got during our stay in Charleston) and the restaurant is beautiful. Looking forward to our next visit.

We came on a second Sunday at lunch and had no wait. The lunch menu is reasonably priced. Prices ranged from 9 for sandwiches and salads to 28 for market swordfish and grouper. The waitress told us that they pride themselves in having the most wines on tap. We got the Cuban, burger, and fried chicken sandwich. All were excellent! The fries that went with it were just as good. I really liked the decor of the restaurant. It was simple and tasteful. I look forward to coming to this place for dinner later.
