What to Eat and Drink at Bay Area FC Games in San Jose - Eater SF

"At Bay FC games, which take place at San Jose’s PayPal Park, you never have to choose. One of two recent additions to the National Women’s Soccer League and the first professional women’s team in the Bay Area since 2010, Bay FC matches have, so far, been short on victories; the team is currently in 10th place out of 14 teams at 4-8. But when it comes to entertainment and good vibes, the club over-delivers, which is really all you want in an expansion team." - Tamerra Griffin

The sadium is excellent. I love the ancient Greek layout, and it's not very high, so even from the highest seats you can still everything. It's larger than it seems though and can get really crowded. The design is great and very safe and fairly comfortable, though it got a bit cold on the upper level. Lots of porta potties in the parking lot and tons of food vendors around. My only real complaints are that while the sections are clearly marked, the rows are not. And the keyword here is "clearly". Also, some of the highest seats have a partially obscured view. And the guy on megaphone was difficult to understand and they didn't list the roaster on screen or the stoppage time clock. No complaints about the staff. They're pretty laid back and well organized. But for some reason I was asked to go through security while my dad was not and we ended up getting seperated. My only other complaint is when leaving, staff wasn't allowing people to make a right turn, even though it was a two-way road. So we ended up having to pull over to get alternate directions to the highway. Also, only allowing a 1 hour window for people to leave is a bit short. That being said, booking the tickets was an absolute nightmare, as we kept getting timed out before our e'mail with the confirmation code arrived. The booking site should also state which seats have a partially obscured view. Once we finally secured our tickets, we had to download the app as they don't accept screenshots or paper-tickets. The venue also doesn't take cash. Another inconvenience. Speaking of "cash", I think the prices they charge are really outrageous. $70 for seats with a partially obscured view. (SoFi was only charging $30 for the same seats for the Mexico game). $45 to park on GRAVEL, is also incredibly outrageous! It shouldn't cost more than $10. I'm still giving it 4 stars though because of the design, amenaties, staff and good oraginzation.

Great stadium. Good food options and love the food trucks during Bay FC games. Very easy to get there on the bus. Other public transit requires either ~1 mile walk or a shuttle from BART. Great bike parking facilities. And at least for Bay games they offer a stroller check in case you need it for walking a kid from Caltrain. Never driven so cannot speak to driving options. Evening games are great. However the East side seats can get very hot in the midday/afternoon.

PayPal Park is one the coolest stadiums there is! I really like how they have a huge outdoor bar in front of the pitch. Although the stadium itself is pretty small, it does have lots of great venues and a pretty decent grass area where you can play mini games before the game starts. I really like how it's well designed with the colors and the atmosphere there is great as well. The time this is posted, I plan on going to all their home games and I can't wait to be back in town to support my beloved team and city. If you're planning on traveling or checking out some new areas, I would recommend coming to check this place out!

We went to our first NWSL game, held at PayPal Park, also the home of the San Jose Earthquakes. It was a good, and enjoyable, match. They food trucks at one end of the stadium, and several other food locations around the perimeter of the stadium. I will most likely attend more matches in the future. Definitely worth going for the entertainment factor.

Happened to be in town and caught the Loons game at San Jose. It's a very basic stadium, clearly built on a tight budget but it works well. Sightlines are excellent, seats are pretty comfortable, the concourse is ample but it could use more restrooms. The atmosphere pregame was great, with a huge, energetic tailgate going on in the lot behind the stadium. But the crowd for this game was pretty thin, felt like it was less than half full. One really nice thing about the setup, in the open end they have a bunch of food trucks inside the security perimeter, so theres lots of good, relatively affordable food options (sushi, Korean BBQ etc) throughout the game. Parking was $27 and beers were about $15, which is a scam but still less than most stadiums seem to be these days.

Google
Great stadium with great views and great food and drink selection. The sunset is always a part of the scene and the energy is tangible.

Google
The stadium is a nice layout, and the views of the field are good. Food was average stadium pricing. Service was friendly at food vendors. Being new to this stadium, not knowing how to navigate with my disability was frustrating. The staff needs to know the layout or where to go for accommodations (elevators etc.) I was directed to different places, which took me a while to get to my seat. Please think of a better place for those of us who use ride share. The walk was very far only to have roads blocked.

Nice soccer stadium in the middle of San Jose. Parking is expensive, but very well organized. The venue offers good options of food trucks.

Yelp
I've been to PayPal Park now a couple of times for Earthquakes games. The park is really nice with great food. Walking into the stadium, you'll get a good whiff of all the delicious hot dog stands that line the parking lots. Inside the stadium they have different food trucks that always have a long line. One pro tip is to get to the stadium about 30 min to an hour early before games if you want to get something from the food trucks. The first time I went, my friend ordered a chicken sandwich, and she lined up right when the game started, she didn't get her food until the second half of the game. If you get there early, you'll be fine. I've tried their sushi truck and the chicken sandwich truck, and both were great. Drinks are expensive inside the stadium which is expected. A lot of people tailgate in the parking lot which is a great idea. Next time, we'll probably do that instead. Another tip is to park in Lot #4 on the first floor near the exit. The first time I went we parked in Lot #2, and omg it took an hour to exit the lot after the game since everyone was waiting for the lights to turn green on Coleman Ave, and only a few cars could go at a time.

Yelp
Awesome fun at games. Good food vendors and multiple food trucks. Quakes Team Store has merchandise for the whole family. New merch below!

Yelp
For relative ticket prices I would say: * Mixed drinks are blah...save your money *Food trucks are a nice touch, but not top tier for sure *Snack areas around stadium are a rip-off...I bought a bottle of water with a credit card. The keypad gave me options on tipping: 15% 20% etc...I wanted to skip or try a lower amount (for water) and the keypad functionality is disabled. Likely programmed by management to ensure you have to tip generously, even for handing me a bottle of water. Finally, the ticket prices are not worth the product on the field. (just being honest) Hard to watch English Premier league on Saturday then pay over $100/seat to see a 1-0 game vs Orlando. Not going back

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend went to the Bay FC vs Houston Dash game and we loved yet we traveled so far from the city. Hoping they can build a stadium in the city in the near future. Now that we officially have a womens sports team is going to be fun because it intersects with basketball season and I have more professional teams to support. We also got to meet some of the players which was super dope and got some pictures with them as well! Thank you!

Yelp
Stadium is beautiful. We watch the earthquakes game here but now that Monterey has an USL team we support the local Team. Every seat is pretty decent, If you prefer to be on the lawn and watch the game from where the food trucks and bar area there are tvs everywhere. Like all stadium foods and drinks they can get pricey especially, if you come in really early so more eating and drinking time to pass the time away. The people and ambience of the crowd is contagious. Some of the staff do not know things so we would have to ask several staff in order to get an answer or information about the stadium. The restrooms are nice and clean. Parking is not that bad but leaving can be a nightmare hence a lot of fans leave 20-15 minutes before the game ends, which is unheard of when you attend a "football/soccer" game in Europe.

Yelp
I have always wondered why soccer has not been a bigger sport in our country despite its popularity in lower age groups. Now that Messi is here, it is clear that there is a temporary bump but the question is still open on whether it will sustain. This is a cool newish stadium for our own Earthquakes...medium medium-sized, nice layout, and has friendly staff. Note that the parking is a nightmare if there is a popular event.

Yelp
Came here for the Enchant Christmas winter wonderland event with my boyfriend and a group of friends. We had a lot of fun going on a scavenger hunt to look for all of Santa's reindeers, and taking a lot of fun and magical holiday photos together. The lights were very pretty, and we enjoyed walking around for a couple of hours and collecting stamps and taking photos until closing time. We came at a later hour, because it was cheaper and we wanted to avoid the bigger crowds with more kids at the earlier hours. They didn't allow pepper spray into the park, which I had attached to my clipper card around my neck. My boyfriend had to take my pepper spray and put it in his car in the parking lot before rejoining me. I've yet to return to visit PayPal Park for any other events, but I'm sure I'll be back.

Yelp
I love this park, it was huge and organized. We went here to visit enchant! Its perfect the middle stadium was a big maze which was really nice side area was for food and they sell some other stuff. Only long line for Ice skating. Took a while to get in. All in all I had fun here and would go recommend and go back :)

Yelp
Paypal Park, home of the San Jose Earthquakes of MLS, is a tidy, comfortable but by no means posh stadium. Sight line to the soccer field is top notch. There is no obstructed view seats in the house. The rise of the stand is steep so it is easy to see over the person in front of you. Stadium food is decent including the usual burgers, hotdogs, nachos, BBQ etc. Food is even better in the many food trucks in the Epicenter where it's like a family party area. Libation is plentiful including the LOBINA, longest outdoor bar in North America. Parking is easy in the large parking structures next to the stadium. Game tickets are easy to come by and relatively inexpensive for a major league team because sadly the team hasn't been a perennial powerhouse since the days it played at Spartan Stadium. Still PPP is a good place for serious soccer fans and families alike to take in a game.

Yelp
MLS GAME: SEEING IS BELIEVING As an American growing up I loved football but hated soccer. My dislike of soccer changed in 1998 when I saw the World Cup game on ESPN. I was astonished by the passion of the crowd and the speed of international football. I thought to myself wouldn't that be great if I went to a World Cup game. That reality happened as I attended 3 World Cups: 2002 Japan, 2006 Germany, and 2010 South Africa. I never went to an MLS game prior to this year. I've been to this stadium once when watching the live telecast of the 2018 World Cup Final between France and Croatia. I remembered how the loud the crowd inside the stadium was for this telecast game. People had commented that this stadium has an English Premier League layout. Even though I am not an MLS fan I had to watch an MLS game at this stadium. This year I came to watch the San Jose Earthquake's home opener against Vancouver Whitecap. I have preconceived notions regarding the style of play in MLS as slow and ponderous. When I watch the fast-pace of the English Premier League on TV or the free-flowing of the World Cup live I had to see what makes MLS different. I sat at one of end of the goals where most soccer fans will tell you this is the best section to watch a game. When I saw the two teams play on the pitch I felt the players were congested on the field. Are the players in the MLS that slow? I felt that the style of play had to be due to the dimension of the soccer pitch at PayPal Park was smaller than at an English Premium League stadium. After the game I found out that FIFA guidelines for a football pitch is 115 yards in length with 75 yards in width. Quite a number of MLS stadiums have field size to be 110 yards by 70 yards; PayPal Park's field size is 115 yards by 74 yards. I can't blame the field size at PayPal Park for the style of play. For my first MLS game I enjoyed my experience as the Earthquakes won against the Whitecaps. PayPal Park has a similar intimate feel of watching a game like Oracle Park in San Francisco. Two reasons why I did not give a higher rating. First at one end of the goal is open where the sound of fans isn't trapped on the field. Second is the location of the stadium is near the airport instead of near downtown where more boisterous crowd can attend the game.

Yelp
Yea It was typical tourist attraction Andy cheesy. But I would still rate it high for the experience to be enjoyed with friends and family. Specially kids! Some became kids among us and counted all the reindeers. The drinks were super expensive but we enjoyed the little lit up bulbs with alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. The chocolate was fun too. The snow run was under maintenance and we couldn't enjoy that but lot of photo ops. Loved the diamond display the most. If you walk up the view was lovely. Definitely worth the wait in the line. Hated parking fee though. Little too much.

Yelp
Exercise caution with the food truck vendors within PayPal Park, particularly the Turkish food truck that offers coffee and desserts. I attended a party hosted by my employer and was misled by one vendor about the balance on my prepaid card. He claimed there was sufficient balance, but charged $11 instead of the expected $1. I recommend using an iPhone over an Apple Watch for clarity on transaction amounts. P.S. Beware of fraudulent food trucks. Always obtain a receipt from the vendors to ensure you know the exact transaction amount.

Yelp
Review for Enchant San Jose. This is a fun place to take the family in the evening to enjoy some amazing Christmas lights. Highly recommend buying tickets online before getting here because the line is super slow despite being short. After entering you'll find the maze entrance which is the main attraction here. Kids and adults alike can get all their stamps by searching for Santa's reindeer. The dance floor is off the hook and fun for kids and adults alike. You can definitely buy snacks in the maze, but the real spot for eating are all the food carts located right outside the maze when you finish. Stores are mediocre, but you might find some interesting things there. Some people make this place a tradition, but some may feel you wont want to visit after the first time. In any case, check it out and see if its a good fit for you. Happy holidays!

Yelp
My son's been to the Stadium prepandemic for a couple of soccer games and loved it! This review has nothing to do with that. Multicultural family night: it was advertised as a family cultural night for all ages, there were at least four rows of vendors and a stage in the distance with music that was incredibly loud for little ones to listen to in strollers. My adult ears were personally hurting as I walked closer to those vendors on that side of the park near the stage. Nevertheless there were rap groups talking about hip-hop music and love for their city of San Jose while dropping F bombs and talking about women's body parts as well as drug related and gun related lingo in their music- HOW IS THAT all cultural-based?!?!? I did not appreciate. The music was very rap heavy and hard on my ears. Perhaps I'm a little jaded since I wanted to see a local particular R&B group. I personally wanted to see Kamiko & The Good Things with no set time schedule I showed up around 6 PM and stayed for about 30 minutes, until my ears could no longer listen to their harsh rap- condescending towards women lyrics any longer. Vendors were all very eclectic and I loved watching the gentleman paint!! I'm sad to see the music genre of bands wasn't as well organized as the arts and craft artisans area was. Hopefully next time they want to play more hard-core rap, they do not advertise the event as "a family fun cultural night for all ages." No masks in sight, except for us.

Yelp
*REVIEW IS FOR ENCHANT CHRISTMAS EXPERIENCE* It is honestly not worth how expensive it was. I would most definitely pay $60-80 for a family of 4 but the fact that we paid $150 for 4 tickets & parking for a one hour experience was a bit ridiculous. We visited on the 28th (last week of the event so that could be why it was so horrible.) Parking took about 45 minutes, maybe a bit more between the two open lanes and the employees not allowing cars into the first general admission lot although it was partially empty - we all had to drive to the parking structure to the end of the street. It was so overly crowded that just getting into the maze section of the arena took a good 20-25 minutes as everyone shuffled behind each-other & then once inside the maze it was so small and right that between all the wagons & strollers (which I had a stroller myself so no complaints just mentioning) between all that and all the people that were attending it was impossible to enjoy the lights.. My kids couldn't even stop to actually take a look and soak it all in. Hot chocolates were $6 (tasted pretty good) & lemonades $7 (mainly ice although very tasty.) salted pretzels were on the pricier side and not worth it (tasted stale.) Overall - would not return if they decide to keep pricing as is. Hope they decide to be more reasonable next year. They profited way too much on this event between ticket prices, parking, ice skating, and even charging for ice bar entry.
google avatar

Caroline B.

Yelp
Minus two stars because they don't even follow their own rules about having clear bags only for events. I followed their rules which was an inconvenience only to learn that many other women were let into the event with their big purses and hand bags (not clear bags). Parking is not too far from the entrance which is a plus for me so I'll give them 3 stars for that. Other than that, beautiful stadium and staff was fast and friendly!

Yelp
Enchanted 2022, $45 adults, $25 kids, $25 parking every weekend in December 2022. Stadium food & food trucks to feed the masses. Shopping in the bowels, see Santa's Landing shop.

Yelp
PayPal Park is such a good time! I love the layout of the stadium, especially the huge outdoor bar located on the far end of the field. It's easy to grab a drink before finding your seating, and the bartenders have always been friendly in my interactions with them. I've been to this park about 5 times, each time to watch the San Jose Earthquakes (soccer). The vibe and energy is good, and they even have food trucks inside the facility where you can get something to eat while watching the game. The only downside is parking, which is rough. I've done it all - parked at the stadium, parked nearby, taken a cab - and I'd recommend parking nearby and taking an Uber or Lyft to the stadium. This way, you don't spend a ton on a cab but also don't have to worry about expensive parking (or risk your car getting towed by parking in the shopping center nearby).

Yelp
Hi, I summarized at the bottom We came with our daughter's soccer team, because won our division in The Nor Cal State Cup. The girls got to parade around the field. It was well planned, stress free, and we all had so much fun! The event staff is friendly, welcoming, professional, and clearly a LOT of them know how to talk to the 3ft tall World Cup soccer players of the future. Aside from the very fan friendly staff, I immediately took note of how impeccably clean the entire place is. There are food trucks, and a spacious grassy seating area for picnicking. There's a great semi-swanky bar set up, if you're serious about your cocktails, or on a date. My kids had chicken tenders and fries purchased from the stadium, and I had 2 Estrella Jaliscos, everything was great. The crowd was very fun, extremely lively, but not rowdy. Our local FAVE, Mr Chuy Gomez was the Dj, and he was doing such a service for so many of us in the 40 and above club! I did feel personally attacked when he played a little Salt N Pepa and looked my general direction. My 16 year old said "If you do the running man, or the cabbage patch, I will NEVER forgive you." Those old school Jamz, mixed in with something familiar for all of these snapchatting teenagers flanked on my sides. The kids loved him too. I tried not to fangirl too much, but I used to rush home every day after school to watch him on TV, Soooooo, Muchas Gracias Chuy we do love you . :) And lastly, how can I not thank Our San Jose Earthquakes for an action packed game, and tying it up at within the very last few minutes. We will be back, and we appreciate what a great experience this was for the whole entire crew. In Summary: SO MUCH FUN Exceptional Staff, even the security are friendly. Live Soccer is the best soccer! Family Fun Lots of food options Plenty of room for partying or relaxing Photo opps Clean stadium Clean Bathrooms Great Music This is the part of the review where I would normally bitch about paying 30.00 for parking, but I can't. I actually like this place better than Levi Stadium. There I said what I said.

Yelp
Spacious, seats aren't that bad. Don't think there a bad view at all honestly. There's food trucks lined up on one side & a band playing by the lower bar. Such a fun experience & am thinking of being a season ticket holder

Yelp
Came for drive in movies (two of them) during Covid-19 times. Very well managed and taking care of customers very well. Not only did we get goodies (reusable bag, beer holders, pens) but Also popcorn and cool beverages to enjoy during the movie. Good view of the drive in movie. Will likely come back for drive through movie if offered again.

Yelp
This review is 100% about the Ultras. I used to be a STH but decided to drop my seats at the conclusion of this last home game because of the stain in the stands called the Ultras. While this "group" of "supporters" have a history with this time I believe it's time that the team start making some separation from them. They are obnoxious, rude, and not mindful of the other fans. They routinely use a mini megaphone by their "leader" to bellow out something unintelligible for the reason this gaggle of lemmings to response in kind. Then as the match continues and the majority of them get drunker, they start to strip, so you get a huddled mass of sweaty, out of shape (well rounded is a shape technically) bleating sheep that are more of a distraction for the fans that are trapped next to them than they are ever for the other team. Quakes front office if you are really serious about changing things around this team, limit them and move them to the epicenter.

Yelp
First time coming here was for a soccer game. Had a great time. The parking was a lot easier than I was expecting it to be, both coming and going. The seats were all good seats realistically. If you go on a hot day, just be prepared. The huge bar is a plus as well. Very friendly atmosphere and extremely kid friendly of course.
google avatar

Christine I.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite pitch! Literally every seat is a good view, the food truck choices always have something for everyone, and the crowd so much fun. The bar, yes, that bar, the longest bar in the country is a must-see! Beers are around $13 a pop and so is most food. If you get down to the entrance of the field under the seats early enough post-game, you can see the players leave. Some will take pics or sign things, a really cool treat to end the game.

Yelp
The center for live soccer in San Jose. Home if the aptly named San Jose Earthquakes, the midsized Avaya Stadium is the Capital of soccer in the South Bay. Located across from the back side of the San Jose International Airport, this stadium is easy to get to. The Santa Clara Caltrain Station is very close-by. In fact it is walking distance. Both Highway 101 and 880 are also super close. I started coming here to enjoy live broadcasts of the Women's World Cup - 2019 hosted by France. All games are broadcast free on the giant screen. You just need to sign up online to attend the games. Avaya Stadium has the same deal for the Men's World Cup. Lots if families come out and it is just a lot of fun. Bring sunscreen!

Yelp
We have been attending the watch parties for the USWNT soccer games. The stadium itself is very nice. 1st watch party was pretty low key, not too many people, quick lines. This time there were more people there, that was awesome. Not sure if they are being more effective at getting the word out or what, but a way more lively crowd. The stadium very nice as well and very clean. Now, the reason for the three star review is -- we weren't even at the half of the game yet and the concession stand was out of Pretzels, cheese cups, smart water and most sodas. Also, someone asked if they were working the midnight games and everyone working started groaning and some even saying they hope not. That's okay if that's the case, however I hope they have more than the 1 taco truck that's on the lot. The line is ridiculous. Maybe another truck and ample ordering/inventory behind the concessions stand would help? Not sure, but hoping whoever is managing can maybe get some of this stuff sorted. I ended up still purchasing a couple things, but some people were pretty annoyed and left without ordering anything after waiting in a pretty long line.

Yelp
Home of the San Jose Earthquakes! Really clean stadium with one of the cleanest picnic areas I've seen for a sports stadium. Come early prior to games to attend the food trucks and picnic in the grass area with family. Love coming to games here because it doesn't get too crazy. I like the Latin music they play here during soccer games lol Parking is also not bad if you prepay in advance. Overall nice experience everything is clean!

Yelp
I've been here before when it was called Avaya Stadium for a Light the Night Walk, but this was my first time for an Earthquakes game and actually got to see the whole place with some sun out still. This stadium or park, whatever you want to call it, is super nice! Everything is very well maintained and super clean! Getting in and out, including parking, was very organized. I love how they have food trucks off to the side so you're not forced to eat overpriced stadium food and get more variety. There's a very pleasant "family oriented" vibe during games here.

Yelp
I never Jose the MLS life. The MLS life Jose me. Not to be confused with the little earthquakes I give Barbie nightly. San Jose play in an awesome little soccer specific stadium that was opened a few years ago. It does the job really well and everybody likes it. On its day it can be one of the most intense and atmospheric stadiums in the country, and is still pretty good and can create a pretty intense atmosphere if they're playing for important stuff. It's got amazing steep seating and was financed 100% privately by the awesome Lewis Wolff. No city money went into it and he's financing it for 55 years out of his pocket, too. It houses less than 20k people but is one of the best and intense stadiums and is close to the centre of SJ. The San Jose Earthquakes are one of the classic old teams of MLS and one of the great things about this is that they get support from the entire San Francisco Bay Area because they're the only MLS team in the bay. So that makes them a very highly supported team. They got stolen away by Houston for a while but now they're back and it's a great thing believe me. I live in Houston and it's slightly hard to root for the Dynamo considering they were stolen from SJ, but I still do. I'll always remember the days of Landon Donovan with his bright bleach blonde hair single-handedly winning titles in games for them. Things have changed since then but the heart and the spirit is still here.

Yelp
Avaya Stadium is one of the best stadiums I have been to. If you are a local or visiting, I highly recommend you catch a Quakes game if they are playing. Here is our routine for the games: 1) Park in the Santa Clara Cal Train station lot or neighborhood at least 1 hour before kick off 2) Walk through the train station pedestrian trail to Avaya Stadium (about a mile) which is great exercise! If you don't want to walk, catch the free VTA bus line 10 (airport shuttle) which runs about every 15-20 minutes. It drops you off right at Avaya and is a short ride. 3) Upon arriving at Avaya, buy a $5 (cash only) bacon wrapped hot dog from the local vendors. This is 100% than the food inside stadium. Part of the fun! 4) Arrive early for the gifts! They usually have give aways. I have blankets, socks, towels, and a hat from the freebies. 5) Get a drink from the TCL bar (largest outdoor bar in North America)! 6) If you are still hungry, they always have 5-10 local food trucks parked inside Stadium which represent the diversity in San Jose. 7) If the quakes won, Dont forget your win pin on the way out! 8) Still hungry? Grab another hot dog on your walk back!

Yelp
We had Earthquakes season tickets for our family when we were young, back when they used to play at Spartan Stadium. I was excited to see the construction of the new Stadium as it was on my way to work and I drove by it everyday. I watched it grow from the ground up and have since been to 4 games and I have to say I really love the experience of going to see a live soccer game and supporting our hometown team! The Stadium is hightech all around. The lighting is amazing, the entire field has perfectly flat bright white light with no shadows from the players. They claim they are the first "cloud enabled" stadium in the league although as techie as I am, I'm not quite sure how that is utilized. They have the longest outdoor bar on Northern America (or something like that) with a giant screen above it that they use for replays of the goals and some advertising. The cost of a game varies but can be pretty cheap. If you do get the super cheap tickets, don't worry, the best spot to watch the game from could be right by the bar. They have a large standing room only area that puts you just feet away from the goal. The bleachers might be better for seeing all the action but it sure is exciting when the players are trying to score on the goal that is just feet away from you. The cheap opportunities end at the tickets though as once you are in the Stadium you can expect pretty blated priced, especially for beer and Booze. The best valie for a beer seemed to be what they called "bombers", 24oz. cans ranging from $11 to $13.50 each. Compared to premium drafts at $14 for 16oz... There are a few high-rollers VIP suites that are sponsored by different folks each year. Last year was BMW and this year it's Audi. GOOOOOAL! If you haven't been here yet, make plans to see a game and support your local team, it's a blast! I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Here for a college graduation for the School of Business and traffic control ran pretty smoothly with cops directing traffic everywhere. felt safe with scanners and security everywhere. Bathrooms were clean. Facility and ground was nice and bright. Weather was about 73 so it wasn't crazy hot or humid. Speaker system was okay... barely heard the speakers clearly. Too bad the longest bar in the world was not open

Yelp
What. A. View. My girlfriend and I had a great time at the SJSU party for the game between the San Jose Earthquakes and the Houston Dynamos. Although there are many good things to eat from the concession stands, there are also a good variety of food trucks that offer a diverse selection of foods. The beer selection at Avaya can only be appreciated by one who appreciate the fine art of craft beer. As for the atmosphere, there is literally no bad seat in the whole place. Not to mention that it has a jaw-dropping view of the San Jose International Airport, giving us a perfect view as planes land. The staff here are mostly very friendly. The security is, well, security. When we left, there is nice pick up/drop off location for Lyft and Uber. This makes it really convenient. At the end of every time I go to Avaya, I leave with great memories. Thank you for the great times.

Yelp
I went to the Earthquakes home opener '23 and the game itself was great. The Beer the food and Taco trucks was pretty amazing experience. The reason for three stars was the parking Horrible!!!! Bought a parking pass for section 2, thought okay we have a guaranteed space since we paid a good amount $$. We spent 40 minutes looking for a parking and missed the beginning of the game even though we had enough time to get a Free jersey grab a beer and some food get to our seats to see the kick off...NOT!!! After we finally made our way back to level one parking told the girl and guy who working that there wasn't NO PARKING and asked how does that happen when we bought our parking pass? They wanted to send me to section 4 parking but we insisted on speaking with a manager, supervisor anyone who could assist because I wasn't going to get ripped off on overpaying and being downgraded for the parking. Took 10 more minutes before I got a resolution which was to send us to section 1 parking. After all the stress and frustration we finally made it in PayPal stadium and still couldn't believe what we just went through!!! So spend your money on Uber walk get dropped off... parking was just a horrible experience. I still can't believe what we went through on that day ‍

Yelp
What a fun zone this is. I still have a smile on my face from yesterday's game. We went through the airport to avoid the freeway traffic. There was a Niners game at Levi's on the same day and it did impact the commute a bit. I'm kind of spoiled because a friend had parking passes and ridiculously good seats. Parking was easy and we tail-gated for what little time we had before the game was set to start. You cannot bring bags or backpacks into Avaya, so bring a small purse if you need to carry essentials. There are no in and out privileges, so once you commit you are in it for the long haul. Security was super fast and friendly. Get there early enough to see a legend, Krazy George, the man who started the wave. It was a must win situation for the Quakes. Win and head into the playoffs or lose and hang it up. Our seats were directly behind the media on the side of the field with the Jumbotron and taco trucks. We were in full sun but there is a bar area to the left, with seating and shade for the tickets that have access to it. $4.25 for a bottle of water but I've attended enough major league events to expect that. The Lawn area is family friendly, with shade structures and plenty of room for the kiddos to run around. Minnesota tied it up 2-2 in the 81st and you could feel the air in the stadium stagnate, as we all collectively held our breath. Would we have to go into extra time? The answer was yes. With just 2 minutes left in extra time, in true Goonie form, they grabbed their spot in playoff history. Goooooaaaaaaaal! Avaya erupted. Strangers high fives on another, friends hugged each other. 18,000 smiling faces happily poured back into the Silicon Valley traffic, with the soft glow of victory. I am so grateful my friend asked me to go. MLS, I am a fan.

Yelp
Cool stadium and fun place to see a soccer game. Tickets are very reasonably priced. They have food trucks with many options. The bar is the largest outdoor bar in the country. Lots of beer options. It's family friendly and fun for everyone.

Yelp
I was here for the Bacon & Beer Classic. This is a great venue! Easy access - I took Lyft and they were able to drop me right at the main gate. Bathrooms are easy to access. Love the bar that's on the grass. Looks like a fun stadium - will definitely have to come back for a Quakes game!

Yelp
The bad: PARKING!! STH with Platinum Parking passes have to park once again in a dirty dusty rocky lot with thousands of other cars. The dust gets EVERYWHERE in your car. I seriously doubt Lew Wolff parks here. Plus STH with PPP have to wait in long lines behind Non paying PPP so the parking staff can run their CC in their mobile machines. Really!!!?? We pay this money in advance so we can be thrown in and stuck behind long lines behind NO STH without Platinum parking passes!!? Please have priority lanes for STH with Platinum Passes ready and separate parking area that is closer to stadium without the dirt dust and rocks. Be ready to fork our cash the morning after for a car wash/detail because the fine dirt gets in your air vents and all over. Other than that 5 starts for team/coach 4 stars for lots of good food options 4.5 stars for bartenders - they need more!!! Lines too long 4.5 for stadium atmosphere 4 stars for security team entering stadium are thorough but not nasty to kids anymore

Yelp
I've always driven by, and never really had a reason to come here. Then I got tickets to the Bacon and Beer Fest, and I had my reason to come! This stadium is gorgeous! It is well kept, and the layout is very convenient. The bar is out on the grass, and there is several restrooms that are easy to find. I saw that there's a convenient entrance for ride shares, and there's a parking lot that's pretty close to the stadium. The event was really fun, and it could not have been at a better venue.

Yelp
A Quakes game is a fun activity with friends, family or for corporate events. Soccer fan or not, win or lose (winning is always better), it's definitely a fun Saturday night at Avaya stadium. Go Quakes! The bar here is hot! This is definitely not a dry stadium. Lots of young people (well 21+ young) livin young, and wild and free (no Oxford comma). Okay, not grammar free. The suites are AWESOME! Literally you feel like you are part of a video game or like you might happen to have a bead of sweat fly onto you. Food in the suites is okay - pretty good quality alcohol, typical stadium food, and subpar cookie (#cookiesnob). Plus with your general admission tickets for the stadium, the sponsor booths inside can score you a lot of free stuff. And they even have food trucks - Indian + Mexican + Korean fusion, grilled cheese, and more! Yes, parking is in a dusty lot. Sorries. If you leave a little early, you can beat the crowds. (As you can tell I got some special access because VIP superstar so I may or may not have had extra fun!) Don't write off Quakes games even if you aren't a soccer fan; You, family, and friends will have fun anyway!

Yelp
The stadium is really new and clean, so it's enjoyable and comfortable to watch a soccer match here. It's also family-friendly. My favorite seats are at the opposite side of the scoreboard. The area is near active supporters. We can enjoy a match with their powerful and nice performance. The problem is a terrible traffic. I heard parking lots would be badly packed and not easy to get out of it, so I used Lyft. However, it was a really time-consuming process to get home. They have Lyft Zone for drop-offs and pick-ups near the stadium. However, some Lyft drivers couldn't find it and it took 30 minutes to get into a car. Then, we weren't allowed to make a U-turn from the Zone. So we had to go to the parking lot and join a long line. We spent additional 30 minutes. It was a ridiculous experience.

Yelp
When I heard I would be getting the chance to visit the semi brand new (One year old) soccer stadium in the south bay, I jumped at the chance! I've heard some good things about it, and being a big soccer fan it definitely peaked my interest in attending this event. I will hold any comments towards the team from this review as I am a die hard FC Barcelona fan and not really sold on the MLS, but that is neither here or there. Back to the stadium, after my three hour drive from the north bay, I arrived in the general area to find some parking. Yes, I did not do my research and showed up without knowing the parking situation. Warning, do not bring a clean car here! It seems all parking ($25) is held with one large dirt parking lot. Not the end of the world, but I had washed my car only a few days before, oh well. Parking and walking to the stadium was a breeze though, and the parking staff do a great job at guiding you to the spot you are assigned too. I was fortunate to get tickets from a vendor my work does business with, so I ended up making my way to one of the Avaya suites, which boasts awesome pitch side seating. Honestly though, its not a huge football or baseball stadium, so you could be up in the "nose bleed" seats and still have great views of the field. The stadium food is your average run of the mill variety, but the real gem is the HUGE bar with ample amounts of alcoholic beverages offered (I guess the largest at any sporting facility). All and all, it was well worth it and if I lived closer, I would probably attend more games, but as it is, the 3+ hour commute does not make it too enticing for me. I would highly suggest though for anyone considering a trip to the Avaya stadium for any event, take part in as I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Notice: This review is from a blind person. I went to this stadium yesterday for a friendly soccer match between 2 Mexican League teams. I can happily say, I had a decent time. My family members mentioned that the views of the pitch were of vary high quality, wich was great for them. But as a blind spectator, my only complaint is that the inercome system at this stadium isn't that great. It sounds like some of the stadium's inercome speakers are placed too lose to each other, and when the anouncer speaks there's an echo. I could hardly make out what was being announced. Over all, I like how accessible this stadium is for someone like me because there is ADA parking, the hallways are wide enough and aren't crowded, and seeting is arranged decently. If you go there, I hope you enjoy your game or event.

Yelp
Was here to watch World Cup 7AM game. - Chill crowd. - Soccer brings people together. - Free parking - Free Admission - Free Coffee & Donuts - Only complaint was noise from SJC & early Sun angle which staff can't fix. - full bar open. - Not a fan of MLS Soccer at all, more of an EPL FAN but might return. The price was right for a short drive from the Penn.

Yelp
This stadium is absolutely beautiful! I've been here for some Quakes games and have enjoyed myself each time! This stadium fits right into the Silicon Valley vibe as it is very state of the art and cutting edge, from the giant HD screen to the huuuge bar, and much more. The stadium is situated near the airport, and you can see planes taking off and landing just beyond the giant screen. This looks really beautiful against the night sky! Also, the stadium is really clean and super easy to navigate. You can tell that everything was well thought out. There's also several souvenir shops and lots of concession stands. But the most pleasant surprise to me was the food trucks parked in the grassy area inside the stadium! So amazing! I'll definitely be back, and look forward to more Quakes games and maybe some Team USA games in the future!

Yelp
Still stand by original statement: great stadium, horrible parking lot. We will not buy season tickets till they fix this parking situation. $25 to park in some crazy lot behind the training facility, by the trash dump and old rotted sod. Takes hours to get out after a game. Ridiculous. It was easier getting out of candlestick. Love the team, love the stadium, but hate coming to games because of parking.

Yelp
The earthquakes in the stadium are an amazing experience. They boast about having the world largest bar and it is very very impressive and fun to stand there with food and drink and watch the game live. At the event they have eight different food trucks with specialty foods plus the standard hamburgers hotdogs and other foods at all the other stadiums. Parking is a little bit expensive in the premier parking is $50 in the mid range parking it's $30 and in the inexpensive park on the dirt it's $20.

Yelp
I was promised root beer floats. And celebrity ice cream scoopers like Kristie Yamaguchi. When we got there, they ran out of ice cream. WTH! I didn't come here for the soccer game. And none of the players took their shirts off, even though it was warm as heck out! Consolation prize: biggest outdoor bar this side of the coast. 4 stars.

Yelp
I really enjoyed visiting Avaya Stadium. This modern soccer stadium is right across the street from the San Jose Airport on Coleman. 2015 is the inaugural season for the venue, and they did a really good job in designing and optimizing the details. Avaya is the home of the San Jose Earthquakes and various other outdoor events. The stadium is elevated off the ground, creating an open breezeway for high-dollar suites and standing room spaces at either end of the pitch. One of the ends is completely open with a large video scoreboard that also houses a massive outdoor bar underneath. The open end also houses a large grass area for food truck and play areas. The seating was designed for maximum views, so it is a bit steep. This may require extra effort to climb into the stratosphere for some of the cheaper tickets. I was satisfied with the food and drink options at Avaya. They offer standard upscale stadium fare with very long lines for the more exotic food trucks. The large bar also allows you to get your drink on! Parking is very expensive and difficult to navigate. I really hope they can fix this, but I appreciate the large reserve of VTA buses lined up after the game to shuttle fans back downtown. On my visit, the cold winds of Autumn were blowing, so make sure to dress appropriately. Ultimately, your experience at Avaya is probably more impacted by the outcome of the game, but they have created a great venue which I hope will be copied in other cities preparing for the MLS.
