This impression is from one visit on New Years. I phoned in an order, to go. I would not recommend the combination of major holiday, phone order, and custom pizza at the Pazzo Pomodoro.
They have a good oven, pretty good ingredients from what I could tell - though I could quibble about the anchovy (very salty) and the strange brown mushroom looking things that tasted like wood char that I didn't order for my pie - and a great server staff and environment. So where's the problem? Everything about communication failed.
Over the phone I clearly said my name, my order (Margherita, add garlic, artichoke and pepperoni and some sides) and waited in the parking lot for 10 minutes before going in. At the concierge I am told they do not have an order for me - they did, just the wrong name. I found my order by the items on the bill, but... they had anchovies instead of artichoke on the pie. They were very responsive to try and get it right again (good!) but got the pie wrong again. (Plain margherita add garlic and artichoke, but they forgot the pepperoni.)
I walked out with two wrong pies, one gratis. I understand that holiday staffing could be an issue; I also understand the noise level in the restaurant was pretty high. Yeah, I understand.
Tough to rate: the staff was 4~5, the food was 3~4, the experience was 2~3. Between a 3 and 4, but certainly not a 4.
There are a few Neapolitan and New York pizza places to use for comparison to the Pazzo Pomodoro; of the three I have tried the Pazzo would not be my favorite place to phone in a pizza order.
