U.S. Farmers Embrace the Growing Domestic Spice Trade - Eater

"It’s one of a number of farms in the U.S., including Old Friends Farm in Massachusetts, Peace and Plenty Farm in California, Calabash Gardens in Vermont, Anjali’s Cup in Hawai’i, and Southern Escape Vanilla in Florida, showing that the spice trade isn’t just international." - Bridget Shirvell

Such a great place. The saffron ice cream is amazing and a must have! Bring a spoon! We met the owners and even though I could tell they were very busy with their farm work, they took their time to ask all our questions about the food they sell and regenerative farming.

This place is so cute! The farm smells amazing, all the saffron food products are so tasty, and the Airbnb is super cute. I’m the first to admit that I’m picky and the home was beautiful and the food was very tasty!

Great place to bring the whole family. Chickens to feed....bees to watch among the lavender rows, fresh produce, flower garden. Very Small but worth visiting.

Hostile and angry hosts. Rooms are filthy and need a good cleaning. Kitchen equipment old and beat up. Felt unclean. Kitchen was not really even a kitchen. A microwave that sometimes worked. Would never stay here again and cannot recommend. Extremely overpriced for quality. While an understand running a farm is hard, when you are hostile towards guests it is time to retire. Melinda is a pathological liar. She completely fabricated lies that we "trashed" her beat up unit. We heard from others in the town that she is a "troublemaker" and historically behaves in this manner. We have a have a sterling history on airbnd. We refused to be extorted to pay for damage that did not occur. We have continued to successfully rent in Lake County without problem. Given our flawless history and high recommendations Airbnb also did not find us responsible. I feel very sorry for Melinda, I hope one day she can actually find peace and plenty in her own life.

This is one of our favorite stops. We're "old fashioned " and enjoy a ride in the car or a day trip. Every time we have stopped we are never disappointed. The produce is delicious and fresh, walking around the farm is beautiful, fresh flowers, lavender, lemon saffron popcycles are delicious, there is a great variety of jams, snacks, soaps, teas, pickles, and yummy lavender butter cookies. You can spend the night. We were there yesterday and saw the owners giving a tour in a golf cart. I think we're going to try to stay, and enjoy the amenities. There is a beautiful old barn they are trying to save, and a GoFundMeset up. I hope the owner posts a link to ,if they respond to this review. Thank you for sharing your bounty and farm with us!

Stopped by randomly on our way to Clear Lake State Park and bought a couple of bags of greens that we dropped into our cooler. When we had them the next couple of days, they were extremely fresh and delicious! They were also very reasonably priced. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely stop by!

During the lavender festival, they were very welcoming. A lot of different pretty growing, besides the lavender. Had one of their home made popsicle sticks, it was good but left my hand sticky, and I couldn't figure out if there was a place to wash my hands. They were busy with other visitors, and I wasn't able to ask. Hand sanitizer really doesn't get rid of the stickiness. Many thanks to Peace and Plenty Farm for opening up during the Lavender Festival!

Stop by North America's largest organic saffron farm to see what goodies are in the farm stand –fresh veggies, eggs, lavender, saffron, all picked right there– or stay for the night in the adorable and expertly decorated Airbnb. Melinda and Simon are gracious hosts and their hard work and diligence is evident in everything they do. They even offer farm tours! Cannot recommend visiting this beautiful farm enough.

Yelp
My bestfriend brought me here to shop their cute produce stand and get a saffron cookie she's been wanting me to try for forever! I absolutely loved this stand! It's small, but set up in such an organized and cute way! They work on the honor system, so you grab what you want, write your information down, and submit your payment to the money box that they have on-site. Ended up getting a few things, including that saffron cookie my bff had raved about. Their saffron lemonade intrigued me, and wow was it so unique in flavor! Tarte, with a strong saffron flavor. I liked it! I would have grabbed some of their produce, but we had gone to the farmer's market earlier that day. Plus, because it was going on late afternoon, there wasn't much produce left to shop. Even so, this produce stand still had such nice offerings. You could get saffron itself, homemade pesto, plus a select few produce items that were still available at the time that we went. Awesome concept. Also hear that they have lodging accommodations here, which is a plus! Definitely recommend you checking out this farm!

Yelp
We came to do a tour. The tour started late. It is a cute farm but you can be done in five minutes. It's buy a little something and saffron to look at.

Yelp
This little six acre farm is the highest saffron producing farm in North America. The techniques used to harvest the saffron allows the farmers to produce high grade saffron. The farm has a cute little honor farm stand where you can purchase a variety of produce and products produced on the farm, including the farm raised saffron. Besides the retail items, the farm has two lodging opportunities, which include a cottage and an Airstream trailer. The farm hosts farm to table dinners and can be a wedding or event venue. If you have an opportunity to hear about the history of the current farmers and the saffron production process, take it! It's very interesting. Check out their website for the hours of the honor farm stand and more about the farm.
