On the Grid : Peachtree Hills Park

"Joy comes from places you least expect it. It's usually the simple things. Tucked away into Buckhead's cozy Peachtree Hills neighborhood, this unassuming City of Atlanta park serves up basic but accessible tennis, generous greenspace, and, of course, that most highly covetable Atlanta park amenity: indoor basketball courts." - Office of Brothers

Lovely park with pickelball court that were mostly shaded when I arrived. Luckily I was there in the morning before the heat of the day. The Rec Center was hopping with summer camp goers. Rest room was clean, always a plus!

Nice park! Big Open field, tennis court, covered Phillips with tables, playground, and community garden. There restrooms across the parking lot, too. Beautiful view of the little creek crossing over the bridge.

Great little neighborhood park. Lots of 🥒 and some 🎾. Courts need to be re-striped

Rich Tanksley

Google
Really nice public park with a playground, 3 tennis courts and a softball field. Well maintained. The tennis courts actually get fully shaded in the evening because of the trees on the west side of the courts. So nice .

Google
Solid park. I took my dog here on my lunch break and there were only a couple of people there. A good size field to let your dog run but it is not fenced in

Google
For tennis, decent hitting wall. 3 courts, but 1 net is damaged, so it's only good for pickleball. The other two are fine.

Mailey McLaughlin

Google
2 well-maintained free tennis courts, a tennis wall, a baseball diamond with bases and backstop, a nice playground, and a picnic shelter here. No bathrooms. People do let dogs off leash in the field occasionally--none have ever bothered anyone that I can see, but if one is scared of dogs that could be concerning. The park is maintained well, too.

This park is not exactly the most glamorous or expansive, but it is a solid park. It has little and big kid playgrounds along with tennis courts and a baseball field. Additional plus is with all the construction around there are tons of big trucks driving to and fro if your kid is into that (mine is). Beware, there are no bathrooms and the squirrels are quite aggressive if you bring snacks.

Yelp
Cool little neighborhood park at Peachtree Hills Park. It's a small enough park where you may start the walk and soon realize that you've covered the entirety of it, but size isn't everything....no really! This park is ruled by your four legged buddies. We live right behind (or in front of, depending on your perspective) the park, and on a daily basis, at all hours of the day, dogs and owners can be seen running about. In addition to pet wonderland, sports of all kinds are played here, from softball to flag football. At the edges of the park at Peachtree Hills avenue, there's a couple of tennis courts, and to the left, there's also a little rec center. This is a park that thrives on activity If you're not really into the sports options or four legged friends, there is a community garden, also along Peachtree hills ave, and if you have children, they also have benefit at this park with a children's play area, swing sets and the like. What I like about the park is the very active community behind it with the friends of Peachtree hills park. From community BBQs to goat petting, and all things in between. Parking has never been an issue with us, because we literally just walk to the park from our apartment, but there is street parking available, and a very small lot. There is a small trail that meanders over and along a small creek. While the park trail officially continues on in a loop, it unofficially branches off near the fence and goes onto the property of a nearby apartment. I like this park, get tremendous value out of it with dog watching, and come here whenever I can. Is it worth driving out of the way to visit this park? Nope, I don't think so, but if you live closeish, I think this may be a good place for you to spend a weekend.

Yelp
Peachtree Hills is a quaint little park. This is a great spot to bring a dog, have a picnic, or play some sports. This park offers tennis courts, man made track, a baseball field (with enough grass space for football and other activities), a playground, mini-library, and a covered picnic area. There is a good bit of free parking on the street, directly in front of the park. There is also a parking lot next to the community center if the street spots are taken. I'm not sure about during the week, but be sure to use the restroom BEFORE coming to this park on the weekend. I'm not sure if there's a restroom in the community center, but if there is, it's closed and there's no restroom available outside, unless you walk into the establishments across the street. We've been coming out to celebrate a friend's birthday here for three years in a row and it gets better every year.

Yelp
This is the quintessential neighborhood park, complete with wide open green spaces. Peachtree Hills Park is small but quaint, which makes it a perfect spot for nearby residents to walk to and keeps the rest of Atlanta going to some of our larger parks. The park is equipped with a decent-sized playground for the kiddies, a large pavilion for BBQing it up, a baseball diamond that can double as a kickball field, and the multipurpose big green field that I've seen flag football games take place but also is useful for throwing tennis balls to your pups. Also, a garden is available for Peachtree Hills residents, which they tend to quite often. A recreation center sits as the hub of the park, with a gym inside for pick-up basketball games and serves as the public restrooms for the area. The real star of the park is the tennis courts, which is the most used part of the park. 3 hard courts sit close to the edge of the park. The courts are reserved for team play from 9am-1pm on Saturday and 1-5pm on Sunday, but besides that it is first-come, first-serve. The people that play are friendly and don't get too upset if (when) you hit the ball into their court. There is also a fenced in concrete wall nearby for you to practice if you're alone. We've had trouble getting the lights to turn on, but maybe we shouldn't be playing past 9:30pm on a weeknight anyway! Parking is pretty easy to find around here, unless there's an organized sport that's playing. Parallel parking lines Peachtree Hills Avenue and the rec center has some parking spaces too. Some cons: park management somewhat unresponsive or apathetic. Open green areas can be overgrown. Tennis courts are popular with nice weather and you'll sometimes have to wait- but at least there are benches! I keep coming back here since it's so hidden and quiet. It help me escape from the busy city life and pretend for a little while I like in suburbia- but don't worry, I leave the park before I get totally brainwashed!

Yelp
I found this park from playing softball in the ZogSports league. You can park in a small parking lot outside or there are plenty of spots along the street as well. They have a baseball field, playground, covered eating area, and a tennis court. There are no real sidewalks outside of the one at the main entrance so watch your step. If you are there at night please bring tons of bug spray. There is also a bike rack for you to chain your bikes too. The park is pet friendly and many of my teammates bring their dogs on a leash to hang out while we play. One of the two things I loved about the park was the children's garden and the free library. There is a children's garden in which your kids ca sign up for what they would like to help out with. It is absolutely gorgeous and a great idea! The free library has to be my favorite. You can take a book but you have to replace it with another book. I think that is absolutely genius and adorable at the same time. There are always a ton of cars outside of the park but I rarely see anyone in it outside of those playing softball or tennis. Maybe its because our softball games are so late. (After 8:30PM) This is also a great spot for those who play Pokemon Go. I have caught an Electrabuzz and Magmar there so it is some good quality Pokemon in the park.

Yelp
Absolutely love Peachtree Hills Rec center. My daughter started going here for summer camp in 2011 and almost every summer after that and also was in their after school program for a few years. They are so good with my baby and she's not that easy. The counselors there are so sweet and some are still there to this day. I love the fact that you see familiar faces. They have so many activities for the kids during the summer. From tennis to golf to swimming to all kinds of field trips. They have dance/theater that my daughter has gotten pretty good at. For the city of Atlanta residents it's only $35 a week at $110 for anyone else. They have a tennis court and a football field/soccer field, basketball court, art room, computer room, and I'm sure I'm missing some other areas at the park itself. This place gets 5 stars. Love it.

Yelp
I love Atlanta parks. This one is very cute, small and quaint. It seems convenient to the people who live around here. I came here to play tennis with some friends. I really liked the veggie garden, which is something I don't see at other parks in Atlanta. A very nice and sweet touch to this park. They have a softball/baseball field. I saw people playing flag football and there was even a small game of ultimate frisbee going on. I spent some time on the kids playground lol and just chilled and sat on the swings =)

Yelp
I adore this cute little neighborhood park that is only half a mile from my apartment. It doesn't have sidewalks so you can walk around the in park area or anything like that. The only sidewalks are right beside it. It does have everything else someone could want in a park though. It has tennis courts, a playground, a baseball diamond and a few picnic tables if you want to eat there on a nice day while watching your kids play on the playground or after you play a game of tennis. It is never super crowded which is nice but the tennis courts seem to always be pretty busy. I enjoy walking my dog to the park and around the neighborhood and she loves it. There is also a community center right next to the park but I am not sure what is offered there or what all goes on. The website doesn't give much information and I haven't been brave enough to walk in and ask.

Yelp
Nice little quiet park. I did not use the facilities I just walked around for about a mile in a man made circle. Free parking is a perk. But this is just a small park to relax in.

Yelp
Played tennis here several times now. The courts are well maintained and in the evening, the courts are well lit. Be sure to bring your bug spray though because it's very lush and when it's around dusk, they come out to feed. And you know who you are... the only one who gets attacked in a group? Yep, that's me, and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I usually bring my dog out and let her run around off the leash, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone since many others do the same. *Technically* it's required to have your dog on a leash, and unless your pup is trained to stay close, I'd follow the rules. Otherwise, there's no harm in granting your precious pup the freedom to exert all the pent up energy he/she has from waiting for you to come home!

Yelp
Nice little park. It's main attribute is that it's less than a mile from my apartment, can't beat that! I discovered it when walking (carrying) my dog down Peachtree Hills. In a year of living next to the Lindbergh Marta station I had never thought to go farther than the LDAC. Glad I discovered it though! There's three tennis courts, a playground, a softball field and a little garden thing planted by children or something. My boyfriend and I come here to play tennis a lot and it's normally pretty busy. There's a practice wall-court thing that you can use too though, and if there's too much of a line we just play ghetto squash instead. It's a nice, free little park with everything from dogs to men in business casual flying drones.

Yelp
Note-This review is for tennis courts only. They are horrible. Surface is cracked and worn. Nets are torn. No one serious plays here.

Yelp
I love the parks in this section of Atlanta! Peachtree Hills Park is very cute, very friendly, and has some great features. For example, they have a beautiful Children's Garden that kids can sign up to help with. I love that it teaches the importance of nurturing, responsibility, and love and respect for the environment. They have a lovely playground, a softball field, and on the day that we visited, they even had an Art Festival going on. The only reason that I give it four and not five stars is that there is not a convenient onsite restroom.

Yelp
We LOVE this place. Having this great park is a big plus of our neighborhood. They have tennis courts, Urban veggie garden, a kids play area, a baseball/soccer field, and more. They are currently making some landscaping remodeling, which promise to be a big hit with kids. It is a GREAT place to bring the local dogs to have some running-around fun.

Yelp
I love this park, tucked right into the Peachtree Hills residential area. When I lived here, I was completely unaware of how close by and convient the park is to local hustle and bustle. I'm on an Atlanta GoKickball! Team, and we have been playing here for the past few weeks. I love the location and how easy it is to park and find your way around. I'm definitely looking forward to coming here in the future to play tennis, and hopefully more kickball. Needless to say, our team isn't the best, but we win trivia on a regular basis right around the corner, at Cheyenne Grill. Great park, surrounded by some of my favorite areas in ATL.

Yelp
Never actually been to park but rec center next to it has a great basketball league. The court is a little slick so make sure your Jordan's have some tread left on them.

Yelp
I live nearby and always think of this park as a convenient place to take my dog for some play time. I always also forget that there are hardly ever any dogs here for her to play with!
