All the Notable Portland Restaurant and Bar Openings for November 2025 | Eater Portland

"What it is: LGBTQ space Crush Bar closed in 2024 after 23 years in business, but now a new queer bar has stepped up to fill that loss. Peacock debuted on Thursday, October 2, and already has a robust events calendar with open mics, drag nights, comedy shows, and more. There’s a bar menu of mini hand pies from the Humble Dumpling, as well as vegan and non-vegan offerings, alongside house cocktails with fun names like Rum and Tell That and Pink Pony Club." - Dianne de Guzman

Mady and Mey were absolutely incredible—by far the best service we’ve had since visiting Portland. From the moment we walked in, they made us feel genuinely welcome and at home. As a lesbian group traveling together, we honestly hadn’t felt very welcomed at many of the places we ate or drank in the city—until we came here. Peacock Bar was different. The vibe was warm, inclusive, and authentic. We were treated with kindness, conversation, and were even showered with recommendations on things to do that locals actually enjoy. This bar felt safe, comfortable, and real. Huge thank you to Mady and Mey for creating such a positive experience—we’ll remember this spot long after our trip ends.

We were visiting from Texas and honestly had been pretty unimpressed with the nightlife so far… until we came to Peacock PDX. Maddy and Mey completely turned the night around for us. They were so fun, welcoming, and made sure we had an amazing time from start to finish. Great energy, great drinks, and just an overall vibe that made us actually want to stay out. If you’re from out of town and looking for a spot that actually delivers, this is it. Shoutout to Maddy and Mey for making our night — we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town

Absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is warm, inclusive, and full of life. You can feel the sense of community the moment you walk, everyone’s welcome, and everyone’s celebrated. Great drinks, great music, and an even better crowd. It’s the kind of bar where you can truly be yourself and make friends doing it. A gem for queer folks and allies alike!

Esa and Uri were such welcoming faces on a chill rainy Thursday. I was excited to see the space and safe place be open- was a JOY to chat with them while deciding drinks. Love the stage/venue space. I look forward to seeing more joy in and around the space. Don't know much about the food because we didnt eat this time around but my eyes did spy a delicious looking plate of hand pies...

This place is fantastic! Really friendly, great staff, and really great to have another strong Queer business and social space, in addition to great open-to-all-genders places like Hawks and Eagle. Peacock has a really creative/artistic feel to it, and I encourage everyone to support these folx! I've already brought friends - and got a personal tour from one of the owners. Fantastic space and events.

Pros: I want to start by saying we really loved the cook, they were polite and very understanding about the situation. We appreciated them coming to listen and she was busy in the kitchen and still tried to make a lil bit of time and let me know I could contact the manager the next day as there were no managers on site. The food was also really good (finger food mostly but the potato tacos were amazing) and the drinks were ok. But as provided below, they took a while to get our drinks and were not worth the mistreatment. Cons: We had a party of about five people and I sat down AT THE BAR on the stool first. The bartender Zoe was part of the terrible experience we had, they saw me sit at the stool and didn't greet me or smile or anything. Meanwhile, they were laughing and doing the most with their friends at the other end showed them great service and was neglecting us. They addressed one of my friends in the group (who is a bit more white passing) but not me (a brown woman) who was sitting there the entire time when ordering and I asked for a suggestion they didn't seem enthusiastic which ok whatever but still it's the fact they seemed like this didn't even wanna do that. When we finally ordered, they ran back over to their friends and took a long time to make the drinks because they were chit chatting instead. Then we ordered food and we asked if they gave us a number mind you they never gave us a number they gave us a tracker and didn't even say here's your tracker just laid it on the table and walked away and I guess none of us noticed cause we were talking amongst ourselves. So we were confused when we asked about the number here goes Zoe big attitude and pointed they gave it to us over there. When we ordered our food they got the order wrong and we had to ask them to make us the missing food and this is a pro the cook fixed the issue and was QUICK to deliver the food to us at the table. Then more of Zoe friends walked in and they cut me in line as i was about to say something their friends realized they cut me mind you ZOE SAW ME STANDING THERE for a good three minutes and again addressed someone else ahead of me and not me. i approached the bar again to ask about it the food that was missing and again she ignored me, there were other people that came in after and she greeted them first again. if it wasn't for those ladies who said i was there first she would not have helped me. The place was not even busy, and the fact that she was only attentive to her friends or people she knew was upsetting. I understand food service i've worked in it myself I know we have our days we just wish we were provided better service from them. It started to feel like this was not welcoming at all atmosphere, i asked another person for help and she walked away from me said she doesn't work there tbh before sitting down and continuing her convo as well, and we noticed they were nice to the white people and not us. We will not be going here again as the bartender did not provide an experience we enjoyed. The cook saved the day and that was the only reason we were calm. We will not be back because of the terrible service Zoe provided us and the other girl, but the cook was very kind and we appreciated them even taking time to listen to our concerns and did their best sadly we didn't catch their name but 10/10 service ty!! They were working tonight just didn't have a name to give them their flowers.
