I visited the Peak District recently and found it to be a very enjoyable place to spend time. The walking routes are well signposted, and there are paths for all levels of ability. The scenery changes from open hills to valleys and small villages, which makes each walk different. There are plenty of places to stop for food and drink, and the people I met were friendly. Public transport links make it possible to reach many areas without a car, which is useful.
The only real drawback is the toilet facilities. In some areas there are not enough, and when you do find them they are often in poor condition. Some were not very clean, and a few looked like they had not been maintained for a long time. This can be frustrating, especially on longer walks or with children.
Overall, the Peak District is a great place to visit for walking, or simply spending time outdoors. If the toilet facilities were improved, it would make the experience even better.
