Peanut Island, accessible only by ferry or private boat, is a quirky Palm Beach County favorite noted by Condé Nast Traveler and local news outlets for its crystal-clear snorkeling lagoons, picnic areas, and fascinating Cold War-era bunker built for President Kennedy. The island’s grassroots vibe, clean beaches, and friendly boaters make it a laid-back alternative to more commercialized beaches. Pack a cooler and your sense of adventure—this is about as local as a tropical getaway gets.

This place really is special. In the right spots, it feels like you've left Florida entirely and made your way to the Bahamas! We visited with a group of four (including me). Ferry ride is short and runs often. You get to catch a unique view of the port of palm beach on your ride. Ferry crew are very efficient and keep things ship-shape. Don't forget to tip! Island itself is amazing for snorkeling, saw many tropical fish, a barracuda, and an octopus! Do be wary of strong waves that can push you into the rocks. Main beach is also good for seashells! There is a hidden spot for snorkeling, too; a canal filled with rocks surrounded by mangroves. Visit at high tide for best experience!!! Water will be clearest then. Iguanas are everywhere on the island, as are coconut trees (full of coconuts! Watch your head!) I recommend catching the earliest ferry you can to have a whole day to explore the island. I'd love to return!

Visited peanut Island, the end of July 2025. There seem to be a lot of construction going on. They were dredging sand off the island and onto a barge. There’s a lot of areas that are decrepit and falling apart. I’ve heard a lot about this island over the years and this was my first visit there. There is a nice sandbar off the island where people were anchored and paddle boarding and canoeing. Half of the showers did not work on the island. There does seem to be a project underway to do some renovation and update some of the structures that are there. I had my own boat so I was able to get there on my own without having to take the water taxi.

Love this little piece of heaven. The seaweed was sooo bad on the beach ans it smells horrible so we went back to pnut Island!! You can walk, snorkel, play in the sand collect shells and get a tan!! Pack a cooler, sandwiches and snacks!! Food isn't provided nor drinks!! It's only $20 to and from the island. Get there early and leave around 4:30. Park closes at 5!!

Google
Our group of 7 had a great time. Advice: Bring unbrellas/shade, snorkel gear, paddleboards, food, etc with you. There's nothing on the island as far as concessions. Shuttles run every 15min, ending at 5pm. Pack up no later than 4pm to get on one of those. If you're there after 5pm, it's $100/person charge to bring you back. Get there early, but don't expect clear waters until high tides. There are still places to see fish in lower tides, so not bad.

This popular local & tourist destination alike it is well-loved must visit for a good reason. It offers something for everybody as fun-filled day in the sun and on the water. Once all the projects are completed will return to check out the new renovations and the upgraded facilities. Your visit will be well worth it.

Took a catamaran ride for 3 hours. Wonderful experience and informative ride. Docked for an hour in mid ocean and swam. Great family time.

Check the weather, bring some type of covering or means to get out of the sun. The JFK bunker is still under construction and you can’t get in to see it. Snorkeling gear can be rented from the shuttle service but they run out, you don’t really need fins. There are camping areas and bbq pits. There are trash cans throughout so please don’t litter as well as bathrooms. HAVE FUN!!!! Try to make your trip coincide with high tide.

Yelp
Peanut Island is a beautiful magical, and almost like out of the country day trip for anyone looking for a day filled with fun and excitement and lots of sun . Located off the shores of Boca Raton this small 80 acre island has so much to offer for adults, children and everybody in between! When you arrive the peanut Island, visitors get free on site parking. However, getting onto the island will cost you in person $20 for adults or $10 for children. If you book online to reserve a specific time for the ferry you then looking at $25 per adult and $12 for children under the age of 10. The island does not allow you to book online tickets if you are visiting Monday through Friday or on holidays, however you are able to book and buy tickets online for weekend visits which guarantees you are able to get on a ferry and go onto the island, it's important to know that once the island is at max capacity shuttle will no longer run, and the island will be closed for visitors that are already on the island. So it's basically first come first serve if you do not book ahead for your weekend visit. The ferry ride is a quick 10 minute ride over to the island, and fairies run every 20 minutes to and from the island. When you're on the island, there is no limit to how many hours you can spend. The fairies start running at 10 AM and the last ride back to the mainland is around 5 PM. One thing to remember is alcohol is not allowed onto the island. If you are bringing cooler bags, cooler, or carts/wagon's these items are subject to search. When you're on the island, guests are able to swim, snorkel, picnic or even camp overnight . Camping information is available on their website which I do not have all the details for because I have never went camping there, but I know that it is offered. At certain times of the year you are able to see manatees. I guess if you come during that time of the year that is a possibility a few manatee sighting and their babies as they come into the island to give birth. The water in peanut Island is absolutely beautiful, it's warm and clear, it's perfect water to go snorkeling in because you can see straight through to view all the different fish that inhabit the island. I typically come here when I have my niece visiting me throughout the summer. They both love it and enjoy the day, snorkeling, and being in the sun. This is not my first time on peanut island, but it is my first review being left for them. I do plan on going back within the next three weeks and I'm so excited. I highly recommend peanut Island for anyone who is looking for a day full of adventure, especially if you have family visiting you from out of state and have never experienced something like this before. This is definitely going to be the talk for a good while.

Yelp
Beautiful park in Palm Beach. Great place to come with family to swim, snorkel, or do other water sports. When in the water you can see school of fish swimming around you. Many places to picnic. The bathrooms were also clean.

Yelp
Such a gem!!!! $20 per person there and back and it's a beautiful beach with tons of fish to swim with and there's people renting jet skis so many families on boats too playing in the water it was just a great summer vibe I loved it!

Yelp
Had a pretty decent day. The water was surprisingly cold despite the fact it's the end of May and the water wasn't too clear. The dock was also closed but I can't complain that much. Still made some memories though.

Yelp
The crystal clear waters, the snorkeling paradise, all the fish and sealife, and the unobstructed view out to the Atlantic make this a top spot. The key is definitely looking at the tides for optimum snorkeling, if that is why you are there. I can't imagine coming here without a shade tent, as there is precious little shade on the sand. I don't enjoy hauling tons of stuff out, but this is the deal when you come here by ferry. It is kind of strange how there is no one in charge here, and sometimes regular boats pull up super close to people swimming, so beware. There is a reason so many people trek here, and it is not for convenience! But perhaps because it takes prep and effort and planning, it makes it all the more special.

Yelp
Great place to do a short hike and hang out on the water with friends. Peanut island is a park/ island located 5 min from the mainland of Riviera Beach in west palm. On the weekends you can take a ferry over and spend the day. The ferry stops running at 5pm... and tickets cover the round trip. The island park allows fishing, snorkeling, jetskis, and small water crafts to anchor off the sand. Be sure to bring everything you will need for the day, including food, as there is nothing to purchase on the island except for a small boat that passes that sells ny style pizza pies. Def worth the drive to check this place put and spend the day.

Yelp
We took a "spur of the moment"water shuttle to Peanut Island just to check it out. We didn't realize online reservations were needed for the shuttle but luckily there were some openings a little later in the day and we were able to get on an earlier boat. It was a hot day and everyone except us had coolers and chairs and were dressed for the beach. We thought the shuttle price was a little high at $25 per person for a short ride over to the island but at least there was no fee to enter the park. We enjoyed walking around the park's paths and exploring. There was a campground with a big fire pit and picnic areas with grills for bbq. There is also a murky lagoon and an area being renovated with a museum and the old Kennedy bunker. The island does have restrooms and outdoor showers. Most people were enjoying a beach day. Boats were anchored around the island and lots of people swimming and snorkeling. The water was very clear and shallow. Note to all, be sure to return on the correct shuttle as there is another shuttle (water taxi) going to Singer Island. Yes, we got on the wrong shuttle and had to Uber back to our car! Hahahah I am glad we saw the island and will return with cooler and chairs, dressed and ready for an entire day on the beach. And, now we know to return on the correct shuttle.

Yelp
Although Peanut Island is a good 2.5 he drive from our home we felt it was worth it! Upon arrival to Riviera Beach Marina you will find a parking area designated for visitors to Peanut Island. We then went to the marina to catch a taxi-boat which was $20 per person + $5 for our beach wagon. The boat leaves every 20 min or so and the ride was very quick (10-12 min) to the Island. We settled on a spot at the beach with our chairs and umbrellas. There were bathrooms and outdoor showers in a few spots around the walkway. The tide comes in at different times. For us it was about 2pm and boy did that allow for some awesome snorkeling! There are so many beautiful fish around the coral! The last boat leaves the island at 5pm and if you are not in it the fine can be pretty stiff: around $100! Also you have to bring drinks and food: there is little nowhere to find either. There are bathrooms at the marina so you can change back to regular clothes before the drive back. There is a way to camp overnight- you need a permit through their website. We had the BEST time and would totally come back!

Yelp
Visited Peanut Island Park with a friend from out of town. Nice shuttle ride over to the island and good place to spend some time. Very enjoyable; would like to kayak next time

Yelp
What a fun discovery while visiting West Palm beach! This island is about 15 minutes north when driving from Palm Bay. We rented kayaks from a company near the beach area, next to the Margaritaville ship. It's about a 30 minute kayak over; you can see the island, and this was my first time kayaking. There's also a shuttle. It's a very busy area with many ships, boats, and the island gets extremely busy by early afternoon. There's nothing but restrooms on this island, so pack accordingly.

Yelp
Great place to swim even with the currents. Not sure if I would stay over night like most of the people I met. I left unharmed ... I would not stay in the dark

Yelp
Peanut island is absolutely beautiful! The sand is soft and there is no seaweed. I recommend coming early because it does get full to capacity at times and the ferry stops bringing people. You have to bring your own food and drinks as there is no concession. No alcohol is permitted. You can even camp here overnight. It's a great place to come and snorkel. You can even bring your dog as they are allowed as well. The bathrooms are kept clean as well so that's always a plus. I'd just recommend coming on a weekday because how full it gets.

Yelp
What a cute little day trip from Palm beach/Boynton beach etc. there's a big free lot to park in by the ferry/boat shuttle. The ferry was $20 per person round trip and they run about every 15 minutes. The staff was all friendly and entertaining. Upon arriving on the island you walk about 5-10 minutes to the beach area if your choice. We went on a weekday in May and had a good amount of space but I'd imagine weekends could get pretty busy. We setup our chairs and towels. The water is super clear, super shallow and super calm. So you can just walk out and basically see the fish while standing. But bring a snorkel and you'll see soooo much more! There were a ton of fish all swimming in and out of the Little Rock caves in the water. Bring water and food and snacks and hang out for the day! Had such a great time, would love to go back.

Yelp
Peanut island 101 Getting there: - Parking is easy, follow signs for the marina. There's lots of parking and overflow lots close by. Lots start filling up around 9, so get there early. - GET THERE EARLY. We arrived around 10am and had to wait 45 minutes for the boat that takes you to peanut island. By the time we got on the boat, they were putting out a sign that said the wait was 1 hour 30+. They have two boats going, sometimes three. - If you're looking to snorkel, you can get equipment a 5 min walk from where the boat picks up at the Get Wet Water Sports Stand. $30 for a mask and flippers. We didn't know this at the time, but you can also buy some in line for the boat from the same people that you get your ticket for the boat. It is $20 for just the mask. I think you can also add on flippers. - You wait in line to buy a ticket for the boat. Some websites say you can buy online, but you can't. They accept cash and card. - Boat ride is 10 minutes to get to the island. - They told us that you should plan to leave the island by 3pm or the line for the boat can be hours. You must be in line for the boat by 5pm or they charge you $100. - Only 800 people allowed on the island, so on busy days, they may stop boats to the island by 11am. What to do on the island: - Snorkeling - there is an area for snorkeling which the people on the boat will point out to you. The snorkeling is really great for being in the US. We saw SO many fish, I was amazed. - Grilling - they have grills and tables. - Walk around the island - the loop around the island is just over a mile. - There are bathrooms on the island. - There is NO food on the island. We saw a pizza boat with pizzas for $20, but I wouldn't guarantee that they show up.

Yelp
We had an AMAZING TIME!!!! Yesterday the water was beautiful. Awesome location for paddleboarding! We took our boards out & the water was crystal clear!!! I've been here a few times to run & bike as well!!! It's nice to get out of the area. Some of the fire guys & police guys brought their kayak so we enjoyed kayaking up to their boats! It was a perfect day! :)) I even learned how to drive the boat!!! (Bucket list check off) A perfect location if you're in the area or even to drive up to, to relax the mind from all the BS of society & work. Beautiful & clean park. I even got to enjoy all the butterflies! :)) Thank you so much for bringing me here. Definitely a great way to continue celebrating my bday week! Felt super super special! :)))Life is too short not to enjoy! :))) we came home looking like burnt bacon! Jajajaja.....

Yelp
Gorgeous place! It's $18 per adult to get the ferry across, they charge you $5 for a cooler on wheels or a beach cart. Sounds kinda pricey but I considered it an entrance fee to the island. The 1st ferry leaves at 10am and the last at 5 pm. Great, crystal blue waters with nice clean washrooms and changing rooms available on the island. Downside- there is absolutely nothing to available to purchase on the island. You have to walk with every last thing-if you forgot it, do without it. Also NO alcohol permitted. Walk with things to stay entertained all day. Nice family day spot.

Yelp
The hidden Gem is such a gorgeous place! It is a bit crowded by locals. The snorkeling is so much fun & the water is so completely clear. The amount of marine life that you see is truly amazing. I will definitely be back and honestly I can't wait.

Yelp
Things I wish I would have know before I went: Island has a capacity of 800. Once that number is reached they will stop the shuttle from taking anymore guests. We got there on a busy labor day weekend at 12:30. We were the last shuttle before the closed it. There are pavilion areas on the island. The first people over there claim those areas. They bring table cloths and food and throw full parties. So be one of the first people on the island if you want shade. Bring an umbrella and chairs so you can have shade close to the beach On weekends they have food boats. Basically like food trucks only boats. There's an ice cream one. He charges $5 a popsicle. A Cuban boat that serves $12 Cuban sandwiches and $6 empanadas. A pizza boat $20 pizzas $2 sodas and water. Bring cash because they will charge 25% more to take cards. Check and see when the tide is lowest. It's worth it to go around low tide. You'll be able to walk in ankle deep water all along the sandbar. It's awesome and I highly recommend it. Bring your snorkel otherwise it'll cost you $20 each to rent. You'll def want to snorkel. It's epic. The last shuttle from the island leaves at 5. If you're not in line by 5 they will charge you a $100 per person fine.

Jackie J.

Yelp
It's a great day visit but not to camp. The house that's on the island is lit so bright and the people who work there start at 7am with the loud gas powered golf carts. Seriously loud and them yelling back and forth to each other. We camped Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Can't even take a nap it was so loud!! Even after 11 they were driving those things. Shower walls are also gross

Yelp
We were staying on Singer Island and took the water taxi for $15/pp round trip out of Sailfish Marina. Peanut Island is probably 50 yards from Singer Island, if you have a kayak it would be fun to kayak out there. There is not much shade along the water so bring an umbrella and lots of sunscreen. Make sure you pack plenty of water and food as well as youre subject to the Taxi's transportation times if you needed to get off the island. They had public bathrooms and outdoor showers. Thought alcohol is not allowed on the island the employees working at the gift shop where we purchased the taxi tickets said we can take alcohol on the island. Just confusing what's allowed and what's not. A nice view to see all the boats coming up to shore - I think the docks on the island are free to dock your boat if you have one. There are plenty of fish to see (we even saw some nurse sharks) so bring your snorkeling gear! We saw a tour group of snorkelers come to the island to snorkel. Hint; save yourself some money and just do it yourself, its not any type of snorkeling worth paying for, bring your own goggles.

Yelp
Used to be better place to hang out ! Not so much anymore! People blasting Miami music that is not what I care to hear ! Overcrowded!! Decided to head back to Beer Can Island where it's less people and better quality people hang out !! More family oriented and less trashy people than at Peanut Island Park!

Olivia D.

Yelp
Would leave a 0 star review if I could. The boarding staff was incredibly rude and the website and signs were extremely unclear. The lady overseeing the boarding of passengers to the boat shuttles REPRIMANDED us at one point for not understanding the unclear instructions that were given. If you are considering coming here I would recommend Key Biscayne instead. It is much cheaper and far less crowded, plus the staff is at least polite.

Yelp
I went to Peanut Island for the first time today. Overall I had a great experience. the grounds where the general parking is are not well kempt upon arrival. When my group and I were checking in around 2pm, Sunday 8/25, the two women at the boat check in were EXTREMELY rude!! More one than the other. I am happy that the boat caption and crew immediately turned my experience around as I was ready to leave after how rude the women were. We made it to the island quickly and had a great time! There is so much to do and see. We had the same Caption and crew on the way back and they made the ride so much fun. I would come back.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I visited Labor Day weekend and we truly enjoyed ourselves. It wasn't packed, the water was beautiful and not too cold very refreshing. We toured the island and walked along the beach.. it was cool to know we could have camped there as well. Will definitely go back and maybe a little more prepared

Joelle H.

Yelp
I visited Peanut Island for the first time this past weekend. Overall, I enjoyed my trip! It was a fun, easy 'getaway' and allowed me to explore a new area. Captain Mike and his First Mate made the ferry/boat shuttle experience wonderful! They were informative and interactive with customers making sure people knew where they were going and that everyone was safe before, during and after the ride. The beach was nice and the people on the beach were very friendly. One major downside was the blatant rudeness and unprofessionalism of the 'front desk' staff. When asked questions by my group and one other group of women who were waiting, they were incredibly rude! They did not want to help anyone and seemed like they would rather be anywhere else in the world. One encounter that especially took me by surprise was when my sister and I asked about a bathroom code (because all the bathrooms were locked) and we were met with such hostility by both employees. One even saying that we should know if a bathroom says vacant, but the door is locked that it's for 'staff only' despite no signage and a keypad Indicating the need for a code) on the door. When we were able to get into a bathroom, it was entirely flooded with the toilet continuously running. We alerted the same employee previously mentioned and were met with an eye roll and a "and what do you want me to do about that??" Again, overall, we had a great experience, but almost left prior to even getting to the island because of the poor welcome experience for both my group and a group in line with us.

Amazing place with so beautiful fishes and shells. I like to make picnic with my family there. And I know your can do birthday parties too.

Yelp
We spent a lovely day on Peanut Island. The parking was a bit tricky to find, but now that we know where it is, we'll be better prepared next time. The ferry ride was short and scenery was lovely. There's a ramp with adequate room to roll a wagon and it can then easily roll right onto the ferry as well. It was SO nice not to break everything down in order to ride the ferry. The island itself is kept incredibly clean, including the bathrooms. However, finding a space without debris on the beach or water was impossible thanks to the hurricane that went through a few days earlier. There was even a boathouse that washed ashore that morning and there was wood and barrels floating all through the shallow water in front of the beach. We had two choices, we either hightail it back to the mainland (like many others were) or make the best of the situation. Fortunately, we chose the latter. As a result, my husband and our friend spent the first hour or so clearing the beach and the water to make it as nice as possible for us. They were pulling large pieces of wood from the water and piling it up away from the main beach areas. After a short time, the park rangers arrived with golf carts and began hauling the debris away. On the brightside, since so many people left right away, we had the majority of the beach area to ourselves. My husband and I didn't walk the entire island, but our friends walked most of it. (there were areas closed off due to repairs and the debris from the storm). They enjoyed the scenery and suggested we all venture the island next time. (Great idea!) I love how they have covered picnic areas and lots of places with shade. We were there on a mild day, but I can imagine it can get very hot there in the summer. The picnic areas also have BBQs, which is nice for those looking for heartier picnic options. Oh - dogs are welcomed on the island as well. Our beach neighbors had 3 dogs that were thoroughly enjoy themselves on the water and on the beach. It was so cute to watch. It's a bit of a bummer that it's a dry island because the idea of relaxing on the beach of an island with a tropical cocktail is quite ideal. Oh well. And yes - they do randomly check bags.

Yelp
PROS: one of the best spots in the Jupiter/WPB area. This has a nice beach, great picnic areas, and it also can be visited by your own boat with welcoming docks. It's free admission too CONS: the parking is minimal near the shuttle boat and the island closes at 5pm which is extremely early. There's also nothing on the island that sells refreshments OVERALL: I will come here again when I'm in the area, but next time I'll come earlier

Yelp
Peanut Island is a little island that will make you feel like you're on a vacation! If you don't have a boat, kayak, or paddle board don't panic! You can pay to take the water taxi over to this slice of paradise. The only downside is that alcohol is prohibited and they check coolers just to be sure no one is trying to sneak any beers. Once you arrive on the island you will find it's actually pretty big and has plenty of room to find a nice spot. They also have grills and picnic tables if you want to cook up some burgers. Also, they do have restrooms available which is a nice addition. If you enjoy snorkeling this is an awesome place to visit during high tide. There are several reefs with tons of fish, crabs, sting rays, and other beautiful creatures. Each time you snorkel you will experience different sea life. I must warn you though- don't try snorkeling during low tide! The water gets murky and brown because of the waves and you will not be able to see anything. So download a weather app and grab your snorkels !

Yelp
Wow!! That's all I have to say. Coming from the north in Jan. This island was surprisingly beautiful. The water is crystal clear , beautiful large size , scenery was gorgeous. I love the water and desire to have boat in this life time- working on it. But the parade of boats- old, new, from Europe, Caribbean, you name it and it was there. They drop anchor and swam onto the beach. Btw, ppl can also camp on this island-Yup. I'm putting that on my vision board as soon as I get home. Very surprised how relaxing and fun my day was here!! Amazing!!!

Yelp
What a neat little park...well, not too little haha it's an 80 acre park with a 1.25 mile course walk around. It's an absolute treasure if you are looking for a place to dock your boat, bbq, get in the water, and meet new friends ! The park has restrooms on grounds for public access as well as grilling stations for use ! Please bring charcoal as it is a non propane park . The walk around course has beautiful views showing all around the island. There are park rangers available if you get lost or need assistance. Good for family outings or even day-dates with friends. 10/10 would definitely recommend

Yelp
Peanut Island is an 80 acre man made island in the Lake Worth Inlet. It was created in 1918 as part of a dredging project. There are no peanuts on the island, it got it's name from a peanut oil operation planned for the area but was given up in 1946. In the 1960's a blast shelter was created for John F. Kennedy on the island because he spent a lot of time in nearby Palm Beach. It used to be open for tours but was closed in 2017 due to damage from Hurricane Irma. You can still view the historic coast guard building from the outside if you take a walk around the island. Today people visit Peanut island to fish, camp, and snorkel. They are large rocks off the beach that offer the perfect area for snorkeling. You can stand around most of the area making it perfect for kids and beginners. Some of the sea life I saw included French Grunts, Angelfish, Parrot Fish, Blue Tang, Barracuda, rays, and skates to name just a few. You must bring your own gear because there are no concessions on the island. The lack of concessions is why I always bring food with me but this time I saw the most amazing site, a pizza boat delivering food to the island! Romano NY Pizza (561) 506-0900 has food delivery to the island. I had never seen a pizza delivery boat before and they were doing a brisk business. I definitely want to try it next time. When you get done swimming you can explore the island on a 1.25 walking path or enjoy your lunch under a shaded picnic pavilion. The only way to get to the island is by boat. If you don't have your own you can pick up the Peanut Island shuttle for $12 round trip at the Riveria Marina. Boats leave every twenty minutes. Besides food, sun screen, and snorkeling gear you may also want to bring water shoes. The coastline is rocky and I bashed my toe into a rock. Water shoes could have prevented this injury. Despite my painful toe I still love Peanut Island. There are life guards on duty and the bathroom facilities are clean. My trip was like being on vacation for a day.

Yelp
Although Peanut island is closed right now because of Covid you can still pull your boat up to the sand bar on the north end. Lots of dogs running around and good times to be had! There is pretty good snorkeling around the rocks at the south end of the island too. Might even see a manatee or 2 !!

Yelp
This is a lovely island where you can spend the day with family and friends, or camp, we have been here for once for a family meeting and make a BBQ at their Pavilions where they have BBQ ready for you to use, you need to bring all food and tools that you need, because they don't sell neither food or any other items, and now we have the camping experience, they have showers with hot water, and the customer service at island management office is very friendly, we like to Thanks Rosa for all her help during our stay!!!, and the personal that keep the island clean, you can always see people cleaning to keep the island in the best shape. Thanks

Yelp
One of the best experiences i've ever had to be honest was coming here and it was extremely cheap for what I expected. It's a mini paradise in florida, i took my jetski to the island and had even greater fun. My friends did a barbecue on the sand while i was on the jetski with my boyfriend on the water, it was pretty amazing ! I took my 2 service dogs with me and im sure they enjoyed it too, just know if you are taking your dogs take your leashes and anything you think they might need since ce there are no gas stations or pharmacies on the island. You can also reserve a spot for camping there and stay overnight for about 28$ and The price for the ferry to take you there is around 20$ per person. Definitely recommend

Yelp
Gorgeous island, like a tropical paradise. Not a lot of space at the actual beachfront for setting stuff up though. Also right after a storm a lot of debris ends up here, so I would avoid right after a storm till it gets cleaned up... which takes time since access is by boat. Great to kayak too from the bridge, awesome spot if you have a boat, and amazing snorkeling, as long as their aren't an excessive amount of jellyfish. The massive sandbar between the island and the bridge is great to walk on at low tide, when the tides have their bigger swings the sandbar becomes an island - great for kids and pets to run around. But typically at low tide you can still walk around in calf to waist deep water. It's probably one of the most popular spots for boaters that are partying and is packed on major holidays... lots of fun if other people's obnoxious music doesn't bother you, and you can tolerate the idiots still flying their MAGA flags and behaving like immature toddlers.

Yelp
Cool place. It's an island where you can dock your boat (or take water taxi) and walk to one of the small beaches. On these beaches, you can chill, grill, kayak, or even camp out for a maximum of three nights. Your scenery will be expensive high-rises, yachts, and fishing boats. Not as nice as just looking out over the water, but definitely better than staring at a parking lot or garbage dump. We just waded in the water for a while, then took off for lunch at the nearby Sailfish Marina (see other review).

Yelp
Loved this little island! My boyfriend and I enjoyed a few hours on the island. We walked around and enjoyed the views and exploring the island. We got to the island using sailfish Marina resort and they were very accommodating even after we arrived late to our shuttle.

Yelp
Awesome beach! My kids had a great time looking for sea shells and playing. The water is clear. We took the shuttle to get here for $12 adults and $6 kids. Free parking. Like other reviewers said there is nothing to buy there.

Yelp
Cute but too many boats and too full. No space in the beach. I dont thi k id come again considering i can go to a beach near my home for free and ita mor spacious.

Yelp
Truly an amazing Island! It's not crowded or overwhelming. You have to take a boat to get there and it's only $12 for adults and I believe $6 for children. We didn't get to see any but there's starfish and manatees there. You can walk around the whole island which is pretty cool. There's tables and BBQ areas. The best thing is you can snorkel and there's lots to see. Definitely going back!

Yelp
Beautiful park, beautiful beach and they offer camping !! And snorkeling, if you don't have gear to snorkel with you can rent them for $20 at the shuttle boat.

Yelp
Peanut Island is a difficult place to review because there are so many ifs, maybes and different varying venues about. First, there are the boaters and the boozers which sort of congregate just off shore but easily within wading distance because of a rule change which now prohibits the consumption of alcohol on the island. The boats nearly surround the place on weekends barbecuing, partying and whooping it up. Then there is the more historic area known as the Kennedy Bunker which was supposedly built for the protection of President Kennedy during the Cuban missile crises but is locally rumored to have been a totally secluded hole in the ground hideaway for the President and actress Marilyn Monroe. I have no idea what truth there may be to those rumors but I can say that when it is open for tours, which is always an iffy proposition, it's well worth taking a look at. There isn't all that much too actually see, but seeing it gives a lot of insight into our mindset and what the political realities and situations were like during the period of the Cold War and nuclear threats that went along with it. Another iffy thing about Peanut is that the place always seems to be under one type of construction or another and always with various and confusing rule changes about picnicking, swimming and varying problems of access to and from it. Some parts of it are good for kids, some areas of it are not but that generally depends upon the type of group that may be occupying a particular area. Sometimes it can be quite and family like, other times areas of it can turn into a hell raising adventure of sorts. At least I never seem to know or be able to predict which, which is why I can only go with a Four Star minus rating.

Yelp
I loved it! Took Captain Joe's Water Taxi over to the beautiful Peanut Island Park for a lovely anniversary dinner with my sweetheart! It was perfect: found a quiet place to eat, talk and enjoy the beautiful surroundings! Peanut Island is like your mini-getaway from the craziness of PBC. The park is well kept and a wonderful place to spend the day with your family or friends! If it's your first time, take the stroll over and check out the Palm Beach Maritime Museum and the JFK Bunker! For $12 per adult, you get a tour of the old Coast Guard headquarters and a tour of the JFK bunker. I can't wait to go back to Peanut Island and enjoy the beautiful getaway just minutes away from home!

Yelp
Great place to spend a summer afternoon. Catch is you can only get here by boat. Don't know what it is about this island, but when you are here you feel like your miles away from the mainland. But in reality your just a short boat ride or water taxi ride away. Not just a good place to have a picnic lunch or hang out on the beach and swim. But this island also has a campground with facilities a boat dock and a museum. There is a lot of history on this island and while here take the time to walk around and educate yourself. A lot of cold war stuff. The park is always kept clean and well maintained. If you plan on checking it out, weekdays are quite. Weekends on the other hand, you will need to get here early. By noon beach space can become scarce and on holiday weekends this place can become quit exciting to even crazy. Always a great time. Keep in mind that it is now illegal to drink alcohol on the island. This is easily over come with the wet foot dry foot law. If your feet are in the water your okay. So just move the party into the shallow water and Cheers.

Yelp
Very nice place for camping. No fish were caught off the fishing dock. Quiet and relax after 5pm when everyone are off the island except the campers left.

Yelp
Such a lovely and quiet place to enjoy views, its $20 per person to go to the island and you can camp there overnight for $40 and have to book in advance. Only thing is there's no store to eat it so you have to have your own food

Yelp
Phenomenal little tropical island accessible only by boat or ferry. I've been a few times this year & it's always nice and clear with lots of tropical fish to see in the guarded snorkeling area & sometimes manatees! It gets pretty busy on the weekends but not overwhelming. Nice walk around the island, camping spots, grills, bathrooms & plenty of shade if needed. I've seen a tiki bar boat here numerous times serving people & even a pizza delivery boat. Lots of little shells on the shore and a big sandbar a few feet offshore during low tide. This is my go-to spot when I have friends come visit. A+ park!
