We two arrived around 11 on Saturday and were seated right away. Dim sum was served in timely manner and really tasty. We waited the roasted duck a bit too long that we even considered canceling it. The food quality was good, and the service was fast; although the price was matching the Koi Palace, which meant a little high.

Great food. A little noisy the day I was there because of a wedding banquet on the main room and several Birthday gatherings where my party was seated

This place used to be called Asian Pearl and is changed to Pearl Bay. Inside is big and bright, suitable for any Chinese events such as weddings. Food is decent. The Turnip (Daikon) Cake (Lo Bak Go), Water Chestnut cake and the Taro cakes are all excellent. Not all the dim sum restaurants have the water chestnut cake and taro ones, this is one of the places that serve them and make them very well. Their black sesame rolls are good too. It is hard to find at other Chinese restaurants too. Their lettuce with garlic is great. Their steamed dim sum (such as Har Gow or anything with the white skins outside) isn't as good. The outside skins are thick and they are supposed to be thin. The Fung Jao (chicken feet) are also so-so, not tender enough. I have had better elsewhere. The fried chicken wings are disappointing. The bathroom is not that clean. Wish they keep it in much better shape considering the restaurant's dining area is so nice and elegant.

Great dinning environment, high end banquet style seafood restaurant, lots of parking and high class service.

We booked Pearl Bay for our wedding reception on February 8, 2025. Shortly after booking, our videographer mentioned he had previously filmed a wedding at Pearl Bay where two weddings were held simultaneously, and the noise from each event interfered with the other. Concerned, I immediately contacted Cindy, who coordinates large events at the venue. She assured me that this would not happen for our wedding and that no other event would be hosted the same night. She told us that the remaining space would be open for normal dinner service, so there was no concern over conflicting audio/noise. Fast forward to September 13, 2025, when we met with Cindy to make a major payment. At that meeting, we were surprised to learn that another wedding would, in fact, be taking place the same night as ours--despite her earlier assurances. Cindy reassured us that a partition would separate the two events and prevent any sound interference. Unfortunately, on the night of our wedding (October 11, 2025), the partition was not fully closed, and sound from the other wedding clearly carried into our reception. Our guests were unable to hear the speeches or the MC, and the audio captured by our videographer was heavily disrupted. These are moments we can never recreate, and they were significantly affected by the venue's negligence. A few days later, we texted with Cindy, who offered an apology--but only after my wife's Yelp review was posted. She blamed the situation on the other wedding party, claiming they had added extra tables and that uninvited guests showed up. She even mentioned that her own staff experienced headaches from the excessive noise. However, none of this changes the fact that the venue failed to uphold its promises and mismanaged the situation entirely. Pearl Bay chose to allow the other wedding to expand beyond its agreed capacity, prioritizing their profit over our experience. They acted as though they had no control over their own venue operations. We requested fair compensation for the disruption, but weeks later, we have received no response. Although no amount of compensation can truly make up for the moments we lost, the lack of accountability and follow-up from Pearl Bay speaks volumes. We will be sure to share our experience and strongly advise others against booking with Pearl Bay due to their poor planning and disregard for their clients.

My sister booked this venue for her wedding last month. The day we got there, we were unaware that they had double-booked TWO WEDDINGS. When my sister and brother booked this, A YEAR in advance! Everything was just messy. My sister and brother-in-law were told that it was just their wedding that we would have to space ourselves. Instead, all the tables were pushed closely to each other, with barely any space to walk. Our guests and the other wedding happening their guests were getting confused about which side to go to since it wasn't divided off. During my sister's wedding, when the MC was speaking or the wedding party was giving their speeches, the wedding guests COULD NOT hear ANYTHING being said because the other wedding party was too loud with music on blast. Giving everyone headache! We couldn't even hear our self talking. Come to find out that Pearl Bay decided to push our tables closer to each other because wedding party from the other side added last-minute guests!?! INSANE RIGHT?! WHO DOES THAT?! My sister and brother-in-law didn't get the wedding they paid for! It was their BIG DAY only for it to be ruined, messy, and unorganized! Due to Pearl Bay's poor planning and greed for money, we couldn't enjoy the wedding my sister and brother-in-law deserved. We even had wedding guests from the OTHER party come over to our side, take OUR alcohol that WE bought with our own money for our bar, and tried to take the boba that was catered for the wedding! Luckily, we had family who saw it and tried to take it back. Additionally, the staff working that night at Pearl Bay were trying to get boba BEFORE the wedding guests!!! We understand they wanted to try it; however, they should've waited until all guests had it and seen if there were any extras left. Everything was just messy and crowded! I DO NOT RECOMMEND BOOKING HERE!! YOUR SPECIAL DAY WILL BE RUINED 100%!!! Unless you're okay with sharing your wedding/special day!

Pearl Bay Restaurant is one of the better dim sum restaurants I like in the Bay area. Most dim sums are better than average, but they're pricy. I guess you get what you paid for, which is true most of the time. The service is good compared to the average Chinese restaurant. The dining room is new and comfortable, with lots of noise, as all the dim sum restaurants do. The parking lot is clean and safe. I feel very comfortable to park my car there.

Google
Good food, good service and large restaurant for seating if you come before noon for Dim-Sum lunch the wait are minimal! Everything we ordered are delicious especially the lobster pen- fried noodles are just wonderful. Lobster are fresh, noodles are crunchy and well seasoned! Other item delivered quickly to our table pipping hot and tasty! Service also top notch. The waiter refills hot water to our teapot without asking, changing our personal plates many times without asking with a bustling weekend lunch crow. We need to come back again!

Yelp
I went to Pearl Bay on for dim sum brunch and arrived around 11am. The place was already packed and I did have to circle for parking. The restaurant does wait for the entire party to be present before seating so keep that in mind. My party of seven ordered a variety of dim sum dishes including shrimp ha gow, pork siu mai, turnip cake, and rice rolls. However, the highlight of the meal for me was the seafood fried rice with brown rice. I always enjoy trying somewhat unique twists on typical comfort foods and the brown rice mixed into the fried rice definitely enhanced the dish for me. Since each person marked whatever we wanted on the menu, we ended up overordering a bit but that is okay since we all had some leftovers to take home. Considering how busy the restaurant was, out food arrived fairly quick and this was perfect since some of us were starving and didn't eat breakfast prior to coming. Surprisingly the restaurant is not as loud inside so you are still able to communicate to others across the table without any issues. The staff is able to communicate just fine in English but I also did have Cantonese speakers in my party which helped make communication a bit easier. I would definitely consider coming back even if it is out of my way. A nice plus is there are some boba and dessert places nearby, not to mention Costco, so there are ways to walk off the food if you eat too much.

Yelp
Pearl Bay Restaurant has become our favorite dim sum place in Fremont. The menu is extensive and the wait has become bearable ever since they added the Yelp reservation system. The place is huge with two big-screen televisions on each side. Our favorite items are the Crispy BBQ Pork Buns, Deep-fried Pork Dumplings, Siu Mai, and Shrimp Rice Rolls. My husband and our younger daughter would get either (or both) the Intestines with Garlic and Black Beans or the Steamed Chicken Feet with Special Sauce. The top of the pork buns makes it more special than the traditional versions. The pear-shaped dumplings have very good texture too. Both items have well-seasoned fillings. The siu mais are very juicy, moist, and flavorful. We sometimes try a different dish, but we usually stick with our favorites. This is a solid choice for Cantonese dim sum because it has now become easier to get a table. The food has been consistently above par which makes coming back worth our while.

Yelp
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR WEDDINGS! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR WEDDINGS! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR WEDDINGS! After we booked this venue, our videographer informed us that he'd previously shot a wedding there where they had booked another wedding on the other side of the restaurant which resulted in sound and music clashing. We immediately called to ask them about it and they reassured us that they would not be booking another wedding. Several months later (and a couple weeks before our wedding) we went in to pay the rest of our dues. It was until then when they informed us that they had in fact booked another wedding on our day and kept reassuring us it wouldn't be a problem because our "event was more than double the size of the other wedding and speaker will be on opposite sides". Of course, they were wrong and our music and speeches were drowned out by theirs. Couldn't hear ANYTHING on our end... it was terrible. BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK. Just plain greed on their end at the expense of our special day!

Yelp
Came here for dim sum around 11am on day before thanksgiving and glad we came when we did. The huge dining room quickly filled up. We ordered dim sum off their menu and all came out fairly quickly. The last two items took a very long time to arrive on our table - 25 min. We tried to cancel them but was fed bunch of lines by wait staff that we didn't understand. Food was good, wait staff was attentive. Our only gripe is food taking a long time coming out of the kitchen.
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
The dim sum is very good and service is fast. Many of the dishes come with only 3 items unlike other dim sum restaurants which often have 4 items in an order. There were 4 in my group so we made do with having the items cut in half. Everything was hot with good flavor. Definitely a place to return to. The deep fried pork dumpling was really cute because they shaped it like a pear. The rice noodle with shrimp had whole shrimps that were large ones.

Yelp
Pretty standard dim sum place. I love the veggie & pork wrap in soy bean skin as the sauce-drenched filling balance out well with the slightly chewy skin. The steamed fish ball Zhongshan style was light and bouncy. The sugar egg puff has an outer crisp and a sweet, fluffy core. I was slightly disappointed at the truffle scallop dumplings as it tasted like the regular steamed shrimp dumplings. There was no wait on a Sunday right when they open at 10am. The restaurant is quite big but they do fill up later in the morning. The noise level is slightly elevated but still low enough to have conversations.

Yelp
Popular modern dimsum place in Fremont AutoMall. Weekend lunch rush right around 11:30-12. Definitely make reservation for bigger groups. No carts here, check off selection from double sided bilingual menu with photos. LOTS options to choose from, probably the most I've ever seen. We ordered probably a tad much, classics such as shuimai, har gow, rice roll, crispy skin roll with shrimp, taro puff, pork sparerib, stick rice in lotus leaf, tripe, and dishes like pea sprouts in supreme broth, salted egg yolk pumpkin. Very filling. Go to Costco across the street afterwards to walk it off. Service is prompt and helpful, easily flagged someone to help get booster seat and cutting up into smaller pieces for friend's kids. Parking can be challenging in the plaza as many other restaurants next door (more spaces towards right side of plaza / HomeGoods side)

Yelp
Service 3 stars - lots of workers buts no service at all. Food - 4 stars The food is great with great favors and offers very interesting dishes. On weekdays, they offer many dinner set meals with reasonable price The Peking duck was great and juice, the skin was crispy. Love the tofu and crab meats - very interesting and fresh The lobster noodle is one of the special dish with a budget cost, but very flat with no zest. You can skip Overall not bad.

Yelp
My cousin and I took our moms out for dim sum at Pearl Bay Restaurant, it's a very modern, clean, and new restaurant with high ceilings, decorative walls, and delicious dim sum. The dim sum prices tended to be high, with a few special offerings, but prices of dishes are high everywhere in the SF Bay Area, so it wasn't surprising, however, the food quality was very high. I give the restaurant five stars out of five for both presentation and taste. The wait staff ran around but tried to be attentive, we got refills on our tea pot after we flagged down the staff. It was a very busy day for the restaurant, and nearly all of the tables were full. The restaurant is a good place to meet up with your extended family for dim sum or a place go out with your friends, or to go on a date. The outdoor mall features many nice restaurants as well. There is plenty of free parking and a short drive from the freeway. Definitely will come here again for a nice meal!

Yelp
This was my first time at Pearl Bay for a Chinese banquet-style wedding. The interior is quite elevated and easy to dress up for those who might be considering this as a wedding reception venue. Overall, I would give the banquet dishes a 3.5/5. The courses consisted of all the standard banquet dishes like the appetizer plate, a soup, lobster, duck, fried rice, fish, and a few meat/vegetable dishes. While the lobster was strangely cut and difficult to eat without anything to crack the shell, the duck and fish were both very fresh and flavorful. In terms of service, the waitstaff could have been more quick and efficient about delivering dishes to each table and ensuring that all dishes were clean. There was a bowl or two that seemed to still be dirty on the inside as the waiter started to serve soup for everyone at the table. The next day, we returned to Pearl Bay for dim sum. I had a better experience with their dim sum service and dishes - even though we had a party of 16 people, we were seated within 30 minutes. Staff were patient and accommodating by bringing additional chairs and utensils as needed. We accidentally over-ordered, but despite that, the waiters ensured that all our food arrived timely. The classic dim sum dishes like chicken feet, siu mai, shrimp dumplings, and cheung fun are all fresh and well-made. It would have been helpful to have had more chili sauce at the table. I would visit again in the future and recommend it to those who haven't tried it before.

Yelp
This place is good for large parties but I think the food is quite mid. Service is not bad though they brought out quickly and helped change plates a few times and refill tea as needed. I feel like all the food was pretty good and well plated. Surprisingly my favorite was the eggplant and fried rice! The rest of the dishes were good and similar to other dim sum places. For the fried rice, I feel like it lacked the wok hay fried texture and was more soft throughout but the flavors were still ok!

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and make reservations via Yelp to avoid waiting! Even for dim sum! The eight of us came here for dim sum and ordered way too much. They actually forgot our XO noodles and beef chow fun and we were relieved since we couldn't finish the 2-3 orders per item. Lesson learned for next time. I found most of the dim sum was on par with what you'd expect anywhere. While I found the taste to be just ok, I will take a moment to acknowledge the content of the dim sum (ie: plump shrimp in the har gow) was pretty substantial. Hard pass on the xiao long bao, which were super sad with zero soup in them and the wrapper was so thin it basically disintegrated the moment I attempted to pick it up with chopsticks making a complete mess. Didn't taste great either. The sticky rice with shrimp balls were a miss too. A solid 3 stars.

Yelp
This is a popular dim sum restaurant, but come here more for the dinner menu. Would give it 5 stars except for the service. Waiter could not be less interested to help. Okay rant over now to the food. Brisket soup was cooked to perfection. Pork had just the right amount of fat to protein ratio and the fish and spare ribs are items I always order when coming to Pearl Bay. Come here to eat good quality food in Fremont.

Yelp
I came to Pearl Bay for dim sum and they were expansive and the interiors looked nice - it even seemed like you could host private parties as they had a giant screen, lights, and a speaker system. The dim sum was self order on a sheet and brought out afterwards. The quality is pretty good and everything was delicious. I will note that the prices here are on the pricier end. Also, there wasn't any prices on the dim sum sheet. I would definitely come back though!

Angela L.

Yelp
The service was great, the waiters and managers were very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and was served hot from the kitchen. This is our family's go to restaurant on our favorite list for our family gatherings such as for birthdays, holidays and place to share with our out of town guests and family. The ambiance is stellar. The restaurant is very clean and bright .. these are two important facts for a Chinese family restaurant.

Yelp
I really enjoyed visiting here for dinner! We were still slightly full from lunch so didn't order as much as usual. The staff recommended their special for the night - a fish a vegetable soup, which was pretty flavorful. The crispy chicken was good though the shrimp chips were sadly quite soggy. The satay stir fried noodles were one of my favorites. The dining room is spacious and well lit with full wall size TVs. They also offer a number of weekday specials I'm excited to come back to try!

Yelp
First time coming to Pearl Bay. And I have to say.. this place is HUGE! I feel like this is one of the bigger dim sum spots I've been to in the Bay. There are 2 huge tv's on both ends of the restaurant. It's looks nice and clean. The food... was meh. I'd say it's just okay. Some of the dishes have cute design like the swan durian puff. But there wasn't much durian in there mostly pastry and fluff. The sui mai didn't have much shrimp in it either. But thing that gets me is that the food was only room temperature. That was really disappointing. I didn't see any steam from any of the dim sum dishes nor did I have to wait for it to cool down to eat. For that reason I dropped a star :( Other than that nice spot. Insanely busy on the weekends. Go before opening if you can

Yelp
I will never return to this restaurant again. We've had dinner here before during weddings, and while it was noisy, it was still manageable. This time, we went on a Sunday night during a large event, and it was unbearable. We couldn't even hear each other talk at a table of six. Out of nowhere, a lion dance performance started with multiple drummers, followed by someone singing karaoke throughout the entire dinner. It was chaotic. But the main reason I won't return is that they are falsely advertising their food. We ordered the crab meat and fish maw soup, and they used imitation crab instead of real crab meat. That's unacceptable. To make matters worse, all the doors were open, and cigarette smoke filled the restaurant. People were smoking less than 25 feet from the front entrance, and even the chefs were smoking by the back doors.

Yelp
Happy Birthday to our Grammy!!!! Shout out to my family for hosting a birthday dim sum brunch to celebrate. Reservations were easily made and although it wasn't needed upon arrival, it is highly recommended since the restaurant filled up fairly quickly on a Saturday. The establishment was good in size and can easily accommodate a party of many sizes. Pearl Bay Restaurant houses plenty of tanks filled with live seafood. Dim sum service is executed via paper menu and I did not see any rolling carts moving about throughout the restaurant. While this isn't the manner I would prefer, I'm not going to complain because the dim sum dishes arrived piping hot, well cooked, & absolutely delicious. 5/5 stars. I'd highly recommend PB for any dumpling & authentic Cantonese cuisine cravings. I'd come back in a heartbeat!!!! FYI: parking is pretty terrible due to the high foot traffic here and the popular neighboring businesses. Come here willing to walk and with patience.
google avatar

Yelp
My go-to dim sum place in the Bay Area! I came early at 10:30AM on a Saturday and there was no wait. There was also lots of parking at that time. The Siu Mai and Sponge Cake are a must-order item for me when I get dim sum! They were delicious and warm! The food also came fairly quick after we ordered. Everything was delicious! The total came out to $60 before tips! It's a little expensive but the dim sum was worth it!
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
The juiciest shui mai I've ever had! My family wanted to try this place since every time we pass by it's packed. The service to be seated actually goes by pretty quick with how big the place is. I would honestly come here over koi palace. The food tastes fresher and tastier. Only thing I would not order again is the porridge, wasn't to my liking, but everything else was great!
google avatar

Abbie L.

Yelp
I went to Pearl bay have dim sum for lunch. I ordered the shumai for $3.88, I pointed it on the half price special menu to the waiter when I order. I got the bill and I saw the shumai is $8.5, I ask the waitress why. She said today is holiday no special price. I didn't know today is holiday when I order. Because Tue is my normal off day. Why the waiter didn't tell me no special price when i order? I won't order the shumai for $8.5 if I know no special.

Yelp
This spot is seriously the best when that dim sum craving hits! My whole family is obsessed with it. Every time we go, it just hits the spot perfectly. It's our go-to for a delicious dim sum fix. You really can't beat it! Service is fast and the atmosphere is nice.

Yelp
I read somewhere that the best Chinese restaurants have 3-3.5 stars and Pearl Bay is a great example of this. Normally for dimsum we'll get it takeout from Taipan or New Hwong Kwok but those have been really crazy around lunch with people getting roast duck and roast pig. Koi Palace takes reservations but it's a little too far and every time we go I'm worried I'm going to get a door ding. We've been coming for a while when we want "good" dimsum and it delivers every time. They are very popular and even if you come at 11:30 it may already be hectic so we like coming before 11 for a more peaceful meal. Interior is huge and spacious with large TVs on both sides. They also have live seafood tanks you can take the kids to but there are tables there that get full of people if you come too late. They don't have carts and you order on their print-out menu. Food comes quickly and they've never missed an order but if you want ice water, boxes, or the check be prepared to be a little aggressive or you'll be sitting and waiting for a long time. All of the dimsum is fantastic and more "bite sized" which I like. I would rather have better quality than huge pieces of something that is OK. It is more expensive than other places though. Special shoutout to the crispy roasted pork, it's a must order and super impressive. The fat is rendered almost completely gone and the skin has a crunchy potato chip like quality that is so rare to find.

Yelp
Gotta love Dim Sum! This was a great find when we were looking for a celebration of life lunch after a funeral. Mom loved Dim Sum and so that's what we went for. The food was awesome! You pretty much order from a menu and they bring it out. Only a few items came out on a cart. I really like the cart method more but it seems more and more restaurants are doing it like this. Can't go wrong with the service. Chinese restaurants are on point with getting you your food quick and always refilling that water. This place took care of our large party with no reservations for 20 people. The place is huge with lots of room and accommodations. My girls loved the aquarium tanks with the fish and crab. Food came out quick and I forgot to take pics.

Yelp
It is always satisfying to eat here... everything we order, ever since, has always been delicious. Although today, I found myself hoping for more for their shanghai dimsum... a staff told me it is their version of xiao long bao... it is soupy but not as soupy as I would want it to be... the meat mix is very delicious though. I loved their crispy pork too, but today, I found them just a tad salty. The restaurant is loud, but I would say it is because it is a huge place and is always packed, and people were talking and telling stories to their family/friends.

Yelp
I would give it 3.5 but since I couldn't so I rounded it up to 4 Food 3.75 stars Ambience 2.5 stars - very noisy Service 3.75 We had known this restaurant for many years, but every time we drove by, there's always a big crowd outside so we've never considered going in, until our neighbor told us that he liked this place very much. So we decided to give you a try . There was indeed a big crowd outside of the restaurant. it was very hard to find parking but it was expected as it was Saturday. We waited about 20 to 25 minutes to get our table and we were wedged between two other tables and both sides were talking very loud. My husband and I could hardly hear each other. It was not the type of thing someplace where they push the food out for you to pick. You will have to order off the menu. We ordered six items as we read dinner once you bring too much home. The food came out pretty quickly, and they were pretty decent, but not the best dim sum I have ever tasted. My favorite was the store fried long grain sticky rice 生炒糯米飯。 Least favorite was the turnip cake 蘿蔔糕 as it was almost cold. The rest were pretty standard nothing to write home about. Personally, I do not think it was worth the wait, specially when I have to drive one hour to get there. There are other choices around. I've heard that they are opening and other restaurant in Dublin so I'm looking forward to that one. For this particular location in Fremont, I do not see myself returning anytime soon, but if you live nearby and don't mind the wait, it is a decent place.

Yelp
Wanted to up the rating and provide an update here. My previous review and rating was based on strictly their dim-sum and the few dishes ordered. That said if you go for their regular dinner, they do have excellent soup and dishes here. It's our favorite place for dinner for sure - something I didn't clarify in my last review. We went there again for dim-sum recently and this time ordered different dishes. Have to say the fried pumpkin ball, seaweed jellyfish cold dish, wasabi sticky rice, and several others were really good. Glad I gave the dim-sum a second try.

Yelp
Decent dim sum place. Nothing special. A bit strange how the food is just average, but the service was quite good and restaurant was nice and clean. Should be the opposite lol. Prices are pretty normal, most dim sum plates were $7.25 or $8.25. Portions are typical or slightly bigger. I would put the quality at a slight step above takeout dim sum places. Restaurant is huge so the wait is not too bad. There's better options...

Yelp
The space is modern and large and open and very elegant for dim sum. I would say the dim sum is on the average side in terms of taste and a bit on the pricey side in terms of cost. However, the space is impressive for family gatherings or a date or when you have friends in town that you want to impress. Plenty of parking. Average service. Please come and create your own experience.

Yelp
Food is your Cantonese seafood banquet style food. They have some dishes I haven't seen at other spots. The food was really good minus the lobster e-fu noodle special. It was like $28 but the lobster and noodles weren't very fresh. The other dishes were really fresh and good quality. My favorites are the egg tofu seafood, pea sprouts with crab, Beijing duck, and claypot fried rice. Overall def recommend and would def come back

We came for my cousin's baby's Red Egg & Ginger banquet. It was my first time here and I was quite overwhelmed with the size of the restaurant and how busy it was. There was a baby shower, a wedding, and (I believe) regular patrons there, besides our banquet. It was nice to have a private area, separate from the rest of the parties. All the food was delicious. I particularly liked the fish and the 北京烤鴨 (Pekking duck). The fried rice was mid, but then I added the sauce from the fish, and it was a huge upgrade! I'm not a huge lobster fan, but my sister really enjoyed that. My partner is severely allergic to fish, and they were able to accommodate by bringing a couple dishes of vegetarian noodles. I would love to come back and try their dimsum!

Yelp
Uniqueness: Typical Chinese Wedding Food when it comes to Wedding food and they also have dim sum too. Service was EXCELLENT though Wait Time: [x][x][x][x][x] Food Quality: [x][x][x][x][x] Service: [x][x][x][x][x] Setting: [x][x][x][x][x] Cost: [x][x][x][x][ ] Recommendation? Great place to host wedding venues and dim sum get togethers as the place is very spacious. Been here for a family party with plenty of family members and the place was gigantic for a venue. Service is very well done here and you'll definitely be comfortable here enjoying what they have to offer. We were served the typical 7-10 course meal that we typically would see at Chinese weddings and all the food they offered was great and no issues at all. I'll definitely be back here when it comes to planning an event with many family here.

Yelp
I was surprised of their service tonight! It was above average, which was not what I expected. I happened to drop my chopsticks on the ground, and I bend over to pick them up. By the time I picked up my dirty chopsticks and put them on the table, our sever handed me a new pair. Now, that is what I called it service, just didn't expect it... as for food, it was decent, I would say above average. The lobster was good, but a little too salty for me. It was good price I would have to say. $23.99/lb in the restaurant? That's a bargain! Everything else was just expected, I would give it 3.5 stars for food and 4 stars service!

Yelp
This is our go to dim sum restaurant whenever I am in the East Bay. Very convenient. Tons of dim sum choices. They try to get people to a table as fast as they can. Huge inside. People are friendly. Large parking lot. Costco is right across if you want to go shopping afterwards and tons of shops around.

Yelp
I don't usually write bad reviews, but I really feel like this needs to be said. My family hosted my brother's wedding here last month, and the experience was honestly very disappointing. We had booked most of the restaurant for the event and were told there would be a small separate group of about 10 tables behind a divider. On the day of the wedding, that plan completely fell apart. The restaurant let the other party add a bunch of extra tables, which meant they couldn't even close the divider all the way. The noise from the other side was so loud that we couldn't hear any of the speeches or announcements. Between the music and the general chatter, it completely took away from what should've been a really special moment for our family. This wasn't just a casual dinner, it was something we'd all been planning for over a year. The lack of consideration and poor management on the restaurant's part really ruined the atmosphere. The food was okay, but nothing stood out. I wouldn't recommend this place for hosting any kind of special event.

Yelp
We came here for dim sum with the family. The wait was not long since this place is huge. We got a variety of typical dim sum food. The overall quality and rate of the food was above average for dim sum places around the bay area. They have large screens on the wall that can show videos. A great banquet venue that can fit a lot of people. What impressed me the most was the friendliness and attentiveness of the wait staff. My daughter left a disposable cup that had a ladybug in it. She left it on the table when we left, and didn't remember until we were outside. When we went back in, they had already cleared that table. The staff took us to the dirty dish tray, and found the cup, but the ladybug was gone. My daughter was really disappointed, but the staff continued looking through the dish tray and found the ladybug. Wow, I was impressed. The ladybug is now safe in our strawberry patch.

Yelp
This beautiful banquet hall hosts giant walls of screens and light fixtures illuminating the dining experience with a vibrant pristine glow to accentuate the food you're about to sink in your mouth. When not occupied by wedding, birthday, or other ceremonious events, Pearl Bay is serving your classic Chinese seafood and dim sum. Their large space can accommodate parties of any size but be warned that during the peak time for dim sum, it can get quite packed and may require a bit of a wait. For dinner service, you could consider calling ahead to make a reservation but it's probably not guaranteed unless you're a regular. The food is exquisite and prepared well. The dim sum is as delicious as they look and their large plates of food are piping hot and freshly prepared for consumption. They have set course meals if you're not too sure of what to order for your table but they also have an extensive menu for a variety of protein (beef, chicken, pork, fish, and other seafood), vegetables, soups, and carbs (noodles and rice) for you to choose from. The price definitely reflects the quality but it is still not the highest price point for this type of cuisine. Given the complexity of the dishes and care put into their presentation, it is very much worth coming out for a meal. The staff are decent. Not a whole lot of interactions as they're moving quick to fulfill orders and accommodate the high churn. The managers do a good job of making sure you're taken care of but nothing out of the ordinary I wouldn't have expected elsewhere. The location is also extremely convenient for those running errands since there's a Costco and some other stores nearby as well as the highway entrance for those visiting from afar. Parking is pretty accessible - they have a huge lot rarely used by the other shops in the area. Overall, Pear Bay satisfies the need for a classic Chinese banquet hall and party space in addition to filling you up on delicious dim sum for brunch. There aren't a whole lot of places still open that can compare with Pearl Bay in the area as many have closed, moved further south or have dropped in quality to no longer be considered as viable options. If you've never been, check it out and if you've been before ages ago like I had, give them another try and see the improvements they've made under new management!

Yelp
First thing I will say is be aware that it can get busy here! We were lucky and were able to get a table within 10 minutes of arrival but parking took a bit and by the time we left, the line was super long. I can see why so many people like it here. The food is pretty good. And portions are huge. We had food for almost a week after coming here it was insane. The only reason I did not give a full 5 stars is that I have had better dim sum at other places. The service was good and the atmosphere was great. Fancy looking restaurant. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
Parking is horrible on the weekends. The wait time was about 45 min for a group of 8. The food is excellent though. Everything we ate was good. You order the dim sum on a menu and they bring it to you while it's hot and fresh. Service is good too. You just have to ask for everything such as soy sauce and chili sauce. The restaurant is huge. I've been to many weddings here when it was called Asian Pearl. I had to knock off 1 star for the horrible parking and long wait times

Yelp
Pearl Bay is quite the popular dimsum restaurant, as even coming at 1pm, we had to wait for over 30mins. The restaurant is large and spaceous. I usually dont have expectations for dim sum in the Bay area, but Pearl Bay was actually pretty decent. Everything tastes like it was made in house and portions are fine. We order around 12 dishes for 5 people and paid around 30$ pp. Overall, i think this restaurant is worth a visit for anyone who wants dimsum

Yelp
This is my first time trying this place and I have to say the food quality was better than what I had expected. Looking at photos online, of course it looks like your typical dim sum restaurant, but it was actually better during the dinner time. Had called so many dishes. It's more family style. You can reserve a table anywhere from 4 to 15 people. The layout and decoration was extremely high catching. Chandeliers were on the ceiling. The bright layout of the restaurant made it super comfortable. Lots of parking. I would definitely recommend this place for friends and family gathering. The price was very well affordable. Would definitely come here more often.

Yelp
We had our wedding here on 5/10/2025. We've been planning it for less than a year & Cindy and her entire staff made it a really smooth and easy process. We rented out the entire restaurant for our wedding for about 450 guests. We made some changes to our menu throughout the wedding planning and Cindy was very attentive and responsive to all of our needs. She gave us some tasty recommendations on DimSum appetizers for our guests during cocktail hour and everyone loved it. The food was amazing, from the appetizers to the fried rice. Our guests told us plenty of times "this was the best wedding food I've had." Our favorite was the walnut prawns, Peking duck & smoked sea bass. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better experience for our wedding. The decorations inside are also very beautiful. We didn't need to drape the entire restaurant like I initially intended to do because the initial decor of the restaurant is nice & subtle. Thank you so much Cindy and the staff. You guys were all amazing!

Yelp
Came for a large family dinner (party of 15) and ordered the $488 pre-fixe and added some additional dishes. Wow-- it was amazing. I'm sad I didn't take a photo of the menu but it included lobster, sea bass; we added beef stew, fried oysters, Peking ducks. The portions were generous. We probably didn't need the extra dishes. The prix fixe is $200 more on weekends.
