Pearl Catering

Pearl Catering was our wedding caterer and they truly carried a large majority of the wedding details on their shoulders, and did an excellent job. From the tasting process, to coordination, to day of service, everything went off without a hitch and all of my guests were raving about how good the food was! They even set us up with a little appetizer and drink for when we signed the marriage license. They also helped us coordinate linen and dish rentals and sent us home with boxes at the end of the night. I could not recommend them enough!

We hired Pearl Catering for our college end-of-year gala, and we could not be more satisfied with our experience! Working with Natalia leading up to the event was a breeze. She helped us think through all of the event details and asked us questions about the venue we never would've thought to ask. The food was incredible, and our guests are still raving about how great it was. The staff at the event were kind and on top of it the entire night. We would recommend Pearl Catering without hesitation.

We used Pearl Catering for our ~100 person wedding in June, and if we could give them 6 stars out of 5, we would. We worked with Tiffani, who just continually blew us away at every stage of planning with her warmth, expertise, and poise. She gave us excellent advice and was also very accommodating of our requests to substitute chicken thighs in place of chicken breasts and to subtract our non-drinking guests from the head count for the bar. Partly out of cost considerations, we opted for the "Taking the Plunge" buffet menu and chose the Vegetable Wellington, Champagne Chicken, and Grilled Chinook Salmon as our mains. With it being a buffet, we expected there to be some compromise in quality, but were amazed that this wasn't the case. We loved everything we tasted, and all of the guests we've heard from have raved about how good it was. Having done a fair amount of research on catering options, and been to a few other weddings in the Portland area, we were familiar with other caterers and their offerings. Pearl Catering provided *by far* the greatest value and the best service. We can't recommend them enough.

Pearl Catering was fantastic, they were very organized and communicative. They provide all the plates, napkins and utensils and such, so we just got our own tablecloths and didn’t have to get any rentals which saved us quite a bit. They set up and cleared tables so fast after people finished their meals nothing ever felt messy, and we barely noticed them doing it. And the food was great, everything seemed fresh and felt more like food you would get at a restaurant than your typical wedding food.

Pearl catered our 130 person wedding this past July and they absolutely knocked it out of the park. They were by far the most reasonably priced (we were given a list of ~10 caterers to choose from by our venue) for the quality and type of foods available. I remember tasting some of the other caterers’ sample menu and being underwhelmed despite being exorbitantly more expensive. We also had several guests come up to us raving that the food was delicious or that it was the best wedding food they’d ever had. My brother said that it was some of the best steak he’d ever eaten. We also had an open bar. Pearl includes signature drinks at no extra cost. Our coordinator said she was blown away by Pearl and that it was some of the hardest working bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff she’s worked with. So hats off to you, Pearl, you absolutely killed it. Thank you so much!

We used Pearl Catering for our 65-guest wedding last month and couldn't be more pleased. Tiffani made all the difference with her professionalism and experience during the planning phase. She then followed through on everything and made sure our special day went smoothly with her team the day-of. We received many compliments from our guests on the plated dinners - they were delicious. Tiffani was awesome! She catered our wedding and she not only made sure to meet our needs but she very much did everything she could to ease our stress. She gave great advice to things beyond just the catering which was very helpful. The guests loved the food and service. A shout out to our bartender who made sure that not only the guests were happy but he personally checked in with my husband and I multiple times throughout our wedding to make sure we had everything we needed.

We hired this catering company for our wedding and were really looking forward to the meal--it was one of the most important parts of our day. Communication before the event was smooth, and their team was professional and kind in follow-up. Unfortunately, the food fell short. We paid extra for steak, expecting a premium experience, but many of the steaks were served very rare--too undercooked for most guests to enjoy. We were never asked how we wanted them cooked, and no doneness preference was discussed with us at any point. A lot of the food ended up going to waste, which was disappointing considering the cost. We reached out afterward and appreciated their polite response, but they declined to offer any kind of refund, saying doneness isn't covered--even though they never asked for our preference. Grateful for their professionalism, but we expected better execution and more accountability on such an important day.

I got married on April 11th and hired Tiffani in January. First of all, the food, was the BEST. We were so happy with the tastings and it translated into our wedding night the same way. Everyone loved the food. From start to finish, working with Tiffani and her team was the best. She always answered my questions in a timely manner and helped with ease from start to finish. Day of, our bartender was great. The staff was so nice. Tiffani made sure everything went to plan. I cannot recommend her and Pearl Catering enough. We thank you sooo much for making our day perfect!

Aug 30, 2024 was the day of our son's wedding. Pearl Catering catered the event and they exceeded my expectations! The food was fantastic. The steak was tender, the roasted vegetables were excellent. Both sauces, smoked tomato aioli and the chimichurri, were beyond delicious.  Truly the best sauces I've ever tasted! Everything was delicious, even the warm bread was unbelievably good.  The pear walnut salad was a great accompaniment to round out the dinner. The crew brought by Pearl Catering were amazing also. I don't have anyone's name, but everyone worked well together and were on top of everything, the mother of the bride didn't have to do a thing. I do have a special shout out for Tiffani. She is amazing and stepped up to the plate when she saw a need. I didn't' get a chance to thank her at the event. She was a key team player to make sure the day was fabulous. Thank you Tiffani. Ashley with Pearl catering was amazing to work with. She was prompt with communication. Our wedding tasting was fantastic. Our wedding food was phenomenal and guests are still raving about the food. The champagne chicken and the potatoes au gratin were tasty. The staff and bartender were friendly and helpful. We would recommend Pearl to anyone, and highly recommend working with Ashley!

We hired Pearl Catering for our wedding at the Baker Building. My husband sampled a lot of food from many different caterers and determined that pearl was the best food. And it really was. My guests loved the food!! However, working with Tricia at Pearl Catering was a nightmare mostly due to many small mess-ups, annoyances, and unprofessional conduct encountered along the way. 1. My first impression of Tricia was on a video call to go over the details of the day. During this call, I noticed that I would ask for certain small things and she would try to convince me not to have them. For example, the Baker Building has beautiful mid century modern bars where most brides have their bar and buffet. She insisted on having table clothes put over the bars even though I didn't want an ugly table cloth over such a beautiful piece of furniture. I had seen pictures from other weddings where they hadn't had any table clothes on the bars. Eventually I conceded for the sake of the rest of the people on the call. This is just one of many things I wanted but she insisted on doing something else. This theme of not listening to me and not trying to do what I want for my own wedding was consistently stressing me and everyone else out. 2. A month or so before the wedding I realized we didn't have cake plates and forks. I tried several times to reach Nicole at Arden (who works with Pearl and provides the rentals) and finally got the cake plates and forks added to the contract. On the day-of they did not send the cake plates and forks and then Tricia again tried to convince me to use salad plates instead. This time, I stood my ground and insisted upon the cake plates since they were already in the contract. 3. As part of making our wedding look unique, I sourced mismatched vintage dinner plates for each person. Because of this, I only asked for salad plates from Arden. Tricia saw that I only asked for salad plates and again tried to convince me to get additional dinner plates even though I said no. She even inserted them into the contract after I explicitly said no dinner plates. 4. I wanted to have a self serve water station instead of carafes because it is easier to maintain for guests. The day before the wedding, we set up the rentals - carafes were sent - and only ten of them (one was broken so only nine) for a 60 person wedding. I still haven't checked to see if I paid extra for the carafes I did not request. 5. When she sent over the finally contract it was riddled with mistakes including 62 vegan plates when we only needed three. After I finished redlining it to have only what I asked for, I had reduced it down by around $2k. 6. Just a few days before the wedding and without explanation, she added an extra server to total four servers and then a "lead server". Our final head count was only 59 guests. She said that there needed to be one server per 25 guests. Even though I asked her several times to remove the server she never did and even brought that person to the wedding. 7. She was at our wedding herself and instead of wearing a uniform like the other servers she wore a bright coral dress. Our dress code was neutrals only so that we didn't have people in bright colors standing out in the background of our photos. Well now I will have the worst part about my wedding standing out in the background of photos. SMH. 8. I knew this caterer was going to be a problem so my mother in law made some additional charcuterie boards as centerpieces. Thank goodness we anticipated their incompetence because they stopped passing appetizers during cocktail hour claiming that "no one wanted any". Yet, my husband had to go seek them out and ask for some. Twice. 9. When I came into the kitchen to get a drink after the ceremony there was no bar tender so I ended up having to pour my own drink. 10. Lastly, right before my husband was going to walk down the aisle for our ceremony, she interrupted him to insist that he pay the contract amount with the unnecessary server (she never corrected it). This is possibly the most unprofessional act I have seen in my life.

Pearl was hands down one of the best choices we made for our wedding! Tiffani did an amazing job helping us prepare leading up to the wedding day. She helped to coordinate all the rentals, hosted us for a tasting, came out for a site visit at our private residence venue, and answered all of our questions quickly and thoroughly. We felt so confident going into our wedding day and everything went so smoothly! Pearl arrived on time, set up the rentals exactly how we had discussed, and the staff, drinks, and food was phenomenal! We've had people raving about the food for the last few weeks. I would highly recommend Pearl and Tiffani for any catering needs!

For those of you looking for a caterer for your special event, I highly recommend Ms Lindsay Steele from Pear Catering. As we all know, planning any event can be pretty exhausting so it would be to your advantage to find the best business partner to do your events with. I was very lucky to have met Lindsay for a wedding that I just coordinated very recently. Not only was she very professional from the very first day I contacted her, but her crew are just as amazing On the day of the event, they we're all very prompt, very professional and very courteous. The presentation of the food and beverages and their services exceeded my expectations. I could not have asked for a better caterer for this wedding. Thank you all so very much. Pearl Catering did our daughter's wedding last weekend. The staff was easy to work with before hand and very professional and courteous on the day of. On top of the outstanding help during the reception, the food was amazing! Everyone commented on how good it was. Highly recommend Pearl Catering!

We used Pearl for our wedding this summer. They were recommended to us by our venue and they certainly did not disappoint! The food was phenomenal, guests loved it, and the staff was very friendly. Not only did they provide our catering, they also worked directly with our rental company and helped set up the whole night, we couldn't have asked for more, truly. We worked with Meagan very closely leading up to our wedding, she was so responsive, so kind, so positive, just an absolute ANGEL! She reassured us left and right and helped in ways we didn't knew we needed!! If you're in the PNW, go check them out!! Great staff, delicious food, and outstanding service!

I had a hard time deciding what to rate this. The way we were treated by a supervisor and the company owner was manipulative, dishonest and unprofessional. My main contact Ashley was amazing, and provided amazing day of service. But when I think back to our wedding this terribly stressful last minute extortion is one my most prevalent memories. I tried to hold off on writing a review thinking maybe my feelings would fade but they haven't and when people ask about our wedding the story always ends with frustration. We had a number of changes from our initial menu due some financial changes at the time. We made our final menu decisions of heavy hors d'oeuvres and adjusted our final guest count to reflect a lower number of guests. We got our final bill and contract, signed it and paid it. Less than a week before our wedding we received an email saying there was an honest accounting error and we owed another $1673. Had we known at the time of the final contract and payment we could have paid it, as we were so close to the wedding we didn't have that left in the budget. As this was a mistake I asked if they could meet me half way since it was no fault of ours. They replied that they could not offer a discount. This was not a discount as we already had an executed contract. I asked to talk with a supervisor about the situation and this is where things went off the rails. The supervisor, Annette, called me the next day and essentially told me it was my responsibility to catch their error and that I was a smart businessman (I'm not a businessman in any way) so I should have known that the price was too low. She accused me of trying to pull a fast one and cheat the company. She insulted me saying if I didn't have that money 3 days before my wedding I couldn't have afforded them in the first place. She ended the conversation with the plan of her checking with the owner and getting back to me. She then emailed me and said I am held to the original quote and that she would be charging my card for the $1673. I told her she was not authorized to charge my card. She then called me and wanted to establish a loan agreement so they could get their money after the wedding. At this point I pushed back and said that I was asking her to hold to the executed contract and would like to talk to her boss who ended up being the owner. She stated that she had been calling him all throughout our phone calls and emails but when I asked for contact he all of a sudden was unavailable. Eventually the owner called me and followed the same script. He insulted me and accused me of trying to trick the company to get a lower price. He said I should have known how much food costs. When I told him that I have never catered a wedding he responded with, "Well you have gone out to eat before, right?" I responded with "Never for 200 of my closest friends!" He said well I should still know how much food costs. I pointed out to him that I had never seen the food I was getting and was never even offered a time to try the food. He wouldn't back down and stated that I still should have known. At this point I am basically in tears thinking that I have no food for my wedding in two days. He says he they will still be there but that I should set up a loan agreement or put the money on a credit card. The Owner tries to big league me and tell me how he owns all these restaurants and he has done this for a long time and that legally it was the initial estimate that is a binding contract and the final contract with the correct menu items and updated guest count doesn't matter. Finally, hours before the rehearsal dinner, the owner backs down a bit and offers to do me the huge favor of meeting me halfway. The very first thing I asked for in the first place. While I recognize this is no favor I offered to pay it so I can stop worrying whether or now I would have food for my wedding. It was the most stressful week and I wanted to actually enjoy my rehearsal dinner and my wedding. The only solace I had was that I knew Ashley would be great. The wedding went really smoothly, their service and food was amazing. My family and guests loved the food, and commented how great the staff was. No one could quite understand why the supervisor and the owner were so rude and unhelpful. Even the venue, who lists Pearl as one of their preferred caterers that you must use, were confused about why they were behaving this way. The venue said if they ever make a similar mistake they just honor what they said and don't push that on the customer. The venue tried to speak with Annette about the issue and she told them she was not interested in discussing it with them. The venue even offered to try to comp some things to offset the experience. TL;DR They won't honor final executed contract but day of staff is amazing and food is good. But who knows if they will hit you up for money days before your wedding.

My bad for not choosing one of the higher rated caterers on here, but my dog's name is Pearl so I went with it. I can't speak to the food as I've never tasted anything they've made. My $$$$ deposit isn't being returned because I had to cancel due to COVID-19. Doesn't seem reasonable in light of the pandemic which would not allow me to hold a 150 person event even if I wanted to. Bad form and irresponsible business practice during a public health crisis.

We had the unique opportunity of working with Pearl Catering and Noelle for over 2 years. In that time, Noelle provided impeccable customer service, communication and ongoing support as we navigated multiple postponements and date changes. She was absolutely exceptional and a joy to work with. Additionally, the food and service day-of at our wedding was nothing less than perfection. We received many compliments from our guests about the quality of the food and everything ran incredibly smoothly. Noelle was a fantastic partner and can not say enough wonderful things about her or our experience with Pearl Catering. Hire them, you won't be dissapointed.

We used Pearl Catering for our wedding in August 2021, and they were AMAZING! We had a brunch buffet with lots of vegetarian options, and it was absolutely perfect - creamy scrambled eggs with tomatoes, basil, and cream cheese, perfectly crispy bacon and sausage links, delicious French Toast with a champagne sauce and strawberries. Everything was to die for, and we got so many compliments. Everyone working the event could not have been nicer, and they were absolutely on time and had zero issues during the day. Our day-of coordinator even said how great Annette was to work with, and how helpful everyone from Pearl was! I really can't thank them enough for making our special day even more memorable.

I've had the opportunity to have both Pearls buffet lunch events and their boxed lunches. Both were fantastic. Highly recommend.

Noelle was our point of contact and she was amazing-- super responsive, helpful, and flexible, especially when we changed our venue last minute! Every guest that walked up to us at our wedding said how much they loved the food... especially the steak! Nicole was a delight to work with and checked in with us multiple times during our special day... she made sure I always had a drink in my hands:) Pearl catering's staff assisted with setting up and taking down everything, so we could could focus on enjoying the night. We were very happy with Pearl catering and would hire them again in a second! We're still enjoying our left overs:)

Delicious food! I love good food so it was important to me that my 190 guests enjoyed great food at the wedding. I know it can be hard to mass produce food for a large group but Pearl did. Many people raved to me about how good the food was both during and after the wedding. Meagan was very helpful to work with. The tastings were most useful and flexible. Highly recommend!
