Pearl Street Bagels - Review - Jackson - Jackson Hole - The Infatuation

"Say you’re trying to get to Grand Teton National Park before parking fills up, need something fast before you go whitewater rafting, or are just running late to work. Pearl Street Bagels is your morning solution for a quick coffee and bagel fix. They refuse to toast their bagels as they argue that fresh bread doesn’t need any modification. Most people (including us) agree, but we have on one occasion actually seen somebody bring their own toaster. Our go-to order is a bagel with a schmear of mountain berry cream cheese loaded with huckleberry flavor and the Wild Tribe, a frozen mocha-like supercharged with a shot of espresso. Pearl Street also happens to be one of the last spots to get breakfast or lunch in town for less than $10, so expect a line." - Lanie Brice

Google
There are several kinds of bagel. You can make it a sandwich or just with some butter or jam. It’s a great sandwich, the tomato and baby Spanish are so fresh. Strongly recommend to enjoy breakfast here once visiting Jackson hole.

Google
Cute little bagel shop in Jackson! Popped in here for a coffee and a bagel breakfast sandwich. Espresso was great and the bagel sandwiches were freshly made. Great for a quick easy breakfast and reasonably priced.

Google
Made a quick pit stop at Pearls for one of their pre-made breakfast bagels before heading out on a hike this morning. Even though sitting in a warmer, it tasted very fresh. Little pricey ($10) but very tasty! Was glad we went. It did seem maybe difficult to find seating if you were dining in. Not a lot of tables inside and just a few outside. This is the everything bagel with sausage, egg, cheese.

Google
just because bagels are fresh, does not mean you cannot and should not toast them. This “no toasting” policy is promoted as some sort of flex. Whoever came up with it has clearly never lived somewhere that actually has bagels.

Google
Was really excited to try this place out based on previos reviews but I went around 7:40 am and my bagel was super stale. I couldn’t even bite into it. The breakfast bagels are kept under a heated light and are premade which means service is fast but again, I could not even bite into my bagel from how stale it was.

Google
These really are the best bagels I’ve ever had. I am so glad we ended up getting a half dozen as well. Highly recommend! Yummy smoothies! Don’t skip the cream cheese either. And I would recommend ordering ahead 💕

Google
So, I grew up in NJ. I know a good bagel. I will not have a bagel that is not boiled before baked. Pearl Street Bagels was reasonable. However, I don’t like a place that tells me “we know better than you.” I like my bagel toasted. They don’t have a toaster. When asked about toasting my bagel I was told that the bagels are fresh baked every day. Well, what good bagel place doesn’t do that? So, Pearl Street Bagels, instead of telling your customers how they should have their bagel prepared, listen to your customers.

Google
We stopped & grabbed bagels, (I customized my bagel sandwich) before our hike. A long line of locals, & definitely worth the wait! When we visit Jackson again, we will be stopping by to grab bagels before our hike!

Yelp
Stopped in for a plain bagel with butter. Nice and fresh. Excellent. Only negative is that they don't offer getting your bagel toasted. Definitely check out when in Jackson.

Yelp
Pearl Street Bagels was located the block from our hotel, so it made for a convenient choice to pick up a couple of bagels as our snack/light lunch. I dropped by the bagel shop around 11am. There were several people in front of me, but the queue to order moved quickly. I was even more surprised that I got my order 2 minutes after I sat down to wait for it, especially considering there was only 1 person making the sandwiches. Employee at the register was very friendly, and it was nice that he knew his regulars. I got a 7 grain bagel with spicy turkey, mixed greens, red onions, and Dijon mustard. Totally fine bagel. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yelp
Edit: Omg my husband and I remember I was disappointed by a bagel place in Jackson years ago but we swore it was not this place. Apparently it was. Still sucks after 8 years, don't visit. Do not go here for breakfast! They only offer pre-made bagel sandwiches, which are dry and uninspiring. I like to customize bagel sandwiches with the shop's specialty cream cheese and add fresh veggies, but this was not an option. Coffee was pretty good and maybe if they make fresh lunch bagel sandwiches it could be okay for lunch.

Yelp
What are these food items? I think they might best be described as simply "matter". Even a pre-wrapped bagel you might find at a gas station exceeds the bland, cold hockey pucks being served here. They don't even have a toaster to help inject some life into the pucks. The lady said "we don't have a toaster but they are warm and fresh." Oh really?

Yelp
Pearl Street bagels right off of the town Square is a cute historic building full of western charm and delicious bagels. The café is bustling on weekends, full of locals and tourists alike. Their menu ranges from premade hot egg sandwiches bagels, smoothies, and various coffees, teas and lattes. (be aware that bagels are not toasted) Service is extremely fast and a friendly enough for being such a busy location but the bagels are delicious.

Yelp
Got an onion bagel with cream cheese this morning and the bagel was so stale, it tasted like they made it 3 days ago. I had my husband try it and he literally spit it out of his mouth.
google avatar

Tabitha R.

Yelp
Bagel sandwiches were a bit hard and chewy. Coffee however was delicious and latte was the right amount of flavor without being bitter.

Yelp
Quick breakfast spot downtown Jackson. I went at 10 am on a Saturday and was disappointed to find out they stopped breakfast sandwich offerings already. The staff were busy but could h e been friendlier and more helpful - almost as though they were annoyed by any tourist or first time guest. I got an everything bagel with turkey and cheese - it was decent but would have been better warmed up and the bagel was slightly chewy.. I got a latte which was delicious and they offer several milk and syrup options to compliment it.

Gin M.

Yelp
The amount of cream cheese is so inconsistent. Today it was so dry (I did not order a schmear) and other times it's slopped up. For almost $6 per bagel via chow now (with 20% auto grat) this is sooo annoying. If the bagel is hard (half the time it is) it irritates my jaw to eat a rock hard bagel with no lubrication lol

Kara R.

Yelp
We went for lunch and grabbed a couple of sandwiches. Spinach and feta bagel with turkey, herb cream cheese, sprouts and cucumbers was fantastic. Fresh ingredients and the herb cream cheese was the best part. Great option for grab and go or just something lighter area the downtown area.

Yelp
Solid bagel spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the everything bagel and asked for it toasted but was told that they bake the bagels fresh daily and do NOT toast them so keep that in mind. Still didn't understand why they can't offer toasted for that reason but was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the bagels. I also wished they offered lactose-free cream cheeses as I brought my own avocado to top my bagel with. Overall, great quick breakfast option but they could definitely make some other options available to make the experience even better!

Yelp
Mornings are busy here. The employees prepared the food with a sense of urgency and worked to get the orders out quickly. Bagel sandwiches are customizable. For a vegan option, I ordered a sesame bagel with hummus, olive tapenade, spring mix, and cucumber. They are generous with their spreads, which made for a filling sandwich. Indoor and outside seating options. Street parking since this is located in downtown Jackson.

Yelp
Cute little shop right in town. It has a nice vibe - seems like mostly locals. Service is basic, not really friendly. My one problem with it is that they don't TOAST their bagels. I ordered a bagel with lox and my bagel was not toasted. I thought it was my mistake, so I went up and ordered again, this time requesting a toasted bagel. She said they don't toast the bagels, but they are made fresh there daily. Hold up - wha?!! You are a bagel shop and you don't toast your bagels?! I have been to many bagel shops and have never encountered this ever. I was completely floored. I ate the bagel to see if it was just as good not toasted. It wasn't. I got a sesame bagel and there weren't that many sesame seeds on it - like maybe 10 total instead of the usual dozens. Also, the coffee was not good - I got a vanilla latte and it tasted like watered down hazelnut - strange. I was looking forward to a nice bagel breakfast, but this was disappointing. The bagels were fine and the lox was good, so if you are ok with untoasted bagels, you may like this place. I won't be back.

Yelp
Wow! Fresh and flavorful bagels. I absolutely loved my breakfast so much here that I had to come back a second time during my stay in Jackson. They freshly make them- don't ask for them toasted. :)
google avatar

Ronald D.

Yelp
Simple menu made your choice in beverage or bagel a quick decision. Wait time is reasonable when ordering at peak demand. Outdoor eating enhances experience.

Yelp
Got in here around 10 am before the airport. Glad I did. We tried going at 7am the day before but there was a line out the door before they even opened!! Got the jalapeño cheddar special. Was told they don't toast bagels because they're made fresh. I didn't really understand that - it def would've been good toasted? But whatever. It was very good. We live in philly/nyc and have the best bread in the world here, so we're harsh harsh critics. Only a philly nyc native could begin understand that. But I liked it. I think if it was toasted I would've liked it more. I also wish they were bigger. But even in nyc stores are stingey with the size now a days. Used to get massive ones for like $2-$3. Those days are gone I guess. I put regular cream cheese on mine. Yummy! I got a matcha latte with oat milk (if you use any other kind of milk you're doing everything wrong lol) I was pleased they had oat milk. I didn't see it on the menu but thank god they did. It was AMAZING. One of the best matcha lattes I've ever had. They put so much matcha in it... they dont skimp. I order these wherever I go and it's so hit or miss. It was the perfect amount of sweet and nutty and matcha. Ugh. Want it again. Delicious is an understatement. And again I was so impressed with the amount of matcha provided. Definitely come here and try the matcha latte please - that was my favorite part.
google avatar

Chelsea W.

Yelp
Not the best I've had, but they're good. They don't toast them when requested, said they bake them here - I still would have liked mine toasted as I like the crunch. I ordered an everything bagel with light cream cheese- and a small coffee. Bagel was good despite not being toasted, coffee was great. Staff aware some and very busy!

Yelp
Cute shop, i guess i Was expecting more. They do not toast your bagel's . I was told no because the bagels were fresh. What does that have to do with anything's? My bagels were very good. I will Be back just toast my own.
google avatar

michelle y.

Yelp
Cute little bagel shop in Jackson hole. I was surprised to find out they will not cook or toast your bagel in anyway. I still ordered it obviously and the bagel had nice flavor and was pretty chewy which was nice. I do still think it's weird that they won't toast it but it was fine for a try

Paz L.

Yelp
The coffee is always cold! The service is not very friendly and besides paying a lot, the cafe is never full.

Thomas H.

Yelp
I have been coming to Pearl st since the 90s and it's always been a go to. In the past few years it seems to have gone down hill. Todays coffee and bagel were the reason for the review. Today's latte was so flat and tasteless with no foamed milk and always not full. The bagel had such a small amount of cream cheese and tasted like a day old bagel. so disappointin only ate 1 quarter of the bagel and pitched it.
google avatar

Chirelle P.

Yelp
Bagels are a staple for easy road-trip breakfasts. I wish they had more sweet bagels, most of the options were savory. I love me a good blueberry bagel but there wasn't much option here. I grabbed a honey sunflower bagel with walnut honey cream cheese. It was simple, but good. They don't go easy on the cream cheese, so enjoy! My friend loved the Lox filet & cream cheese bagel & it looked beautiful! The Mexican cream cheese is definitely one you need to try! It's so unique with a dash of jalapeño spice to it. The Chai Tea is probably the best one I had in Jackson! Cute place, great vibes.
google avatar

Eoin H.

Yelp
Solid bagel sandwiches and nice seating area. The breakfast sandwiches were pre-made and there were none left at 9am so I picked out a bagel sandwich. The menu doesn't offer any pre-made options and there's a wide variety of ingredients to select from. I got an everything bagel with spicy turkey, Swiss cheese, mixed greens, banana peppers, and mustard. The bagel was pretty good with a nice crunch on the outside and the sandwich tasted fresh and wasn't too pricey. I also got a black coffee to drink there which came with a free refill and tasted great. Not sure what beans they use but the coffee was way better than expected.

Yelp
It's a perfect grab and go or dine in breakfast place. We always try to stop here at least once while visiting Jackson. They dont toast the bagel because they make it fresh every morning. I usually get smoked salmon bagel and it is the best. I love their spreads' variety and freshness. My husband is a vegetarian so he usually relies on a good bagel spread and this place has it. We also love their coffee. The only downside the the long line to place the order, but I wouldn't expect any less for such amazing place.

Weili F.

Yelp
Friendly staff serving up delicious sandwiches. Best coffee around!! Can't wait for my next trip back to Wyoming.
google avatar

Luke R.

Yelp
Pricey but delicious and fresh bagels. They don't skimp on the cream cheese or loks, imo. Very friendly staff and environment too

Erin W.

Yelp
Quaint little bagel shop that is very busy. Bagels were great, but unless you love a ton of cream cheese, just order a schmear!

Sophie M.

Yelp
Delicious hazelnut latte, pretty good bagel sandwiches. All the bagels are freshly made every day!

Jenny S.

Yelp
Slightly disappointed with the amount of cream cheese. Just because I added more veggies I was hoping I'd still get a big slab of cream cheese! Also the bagel is so small! Not sure if it's worth the money

Matthew K.

Yelp
Great bagels and awesome selection of breakfast options. Fast and convenient service.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch on the way out of town as we headed up to Bozeman, MT. We had two bagel sandwiches and sat out by the river. The sandwiches and the view were great. Awesome way to spend a last few minutes in Jackson before heading home.

Kimberly M.

Yelp
I usually love pearl street bagels but today I was very disappointed. I ordered a chicken salad salad and a turkey bagel sandwich and the salad didn't have chicken salad on it and the bagel didn't have turkey on it. I didn't notice until I got home and opened everything. Very disappointing.
google avatar

Kevin K.

Yelp
Great bagels! Staff was great- long lines but it moves quick. Very authentic . Highly recommended.
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
Bagel sandwich grab and go. I can't say too much about the experience - or post any pictures - since I sent my husband to pick up some sandies before starting our day in Yellowstone. But, they were damn tasty bagel sandwiches. What else can you want? Check it out! I know I will again when I'm in town next time.
google avatar

Esther V.

Yelp
Delicious bagels and matcha latte! Although, they give you a tub of cream cheese with you bagel, so you can share if you'd like
google avatar

Betsy E.

Yelp
Really great coffee and bagels. Super friendly staff. Quick although both times we were they were very busy! Had two days in Jackson and wanted a quick breakfast to get on the road delivered both times. Only thing is the huckleberry cream cheese could have used more flavor for me. It was very light tasting.
google avatar

Travis B.

Yelp
Yummy food and great service! The only issue is the price. 2 drip coffees and 4 bagels for 52 dollars.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
Always open, even during the slow season! Delicious bagels. Breakfast sandwiches are only premade, which I was slightly disappointed about. Bagels are baked fresh everyday. Loved my matcha as well! Quick service, friendly staff!

Monique F.

Yelp
Just okay.. ordered a roasted turkey sandwich and the bagel is so thick it's a little too much bread for me.
google avatar

Shelby A.

Yelp
Haven't had the bagels yet but stopped by for some good lattes! Love that they have the oak milk option. One perk is that you can order ahead online and pick up in store!
google avatar

Cindy M.

Yelp
Today I had the egg and cheese bagel. These are premade and left in a warming case. I love the bagel but not a fan of the sandwich. There was too much cheese and the egg was too small. I suggest an omelet so half my bagel is not egg free. I won't get it again. $5 a sandwich (no meat)
google avatar

Rachael M.

Yelp
Based on reading other's reviews I may just be speaking into the wind, but my bagel would've been so much better had it been freshly toasted. You can't claim you don't toast them because they're "fresh out of the oven" and then serve it cold. Disappointing because the flavor of the bagel was good. The cream cheese was also very delicious. They have fresh ingredients in the different flavors and give a generous amount for the price.

Brian H.

Yelp
Would not recommend. Poor quality bagels with little to no flavor. Having founded a bagel store in Columbus, OH, this store was well below average.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Solid breakfast spot in Jackson. We went here 2 out of our 4 mornings. It was great fuel before a day of adventuring and hiking! It may seem odd, but they don't toast bagels here. Everything is super fresh so it's delicious without the crunch. Pro tip: ask what's warm out of the oven! I absolutely loved my Everything bagel with herb cream cheese. Their everything seasoning has a touch of lemon zest!
google avatar

Stanley W.

Yelp
Did you think jackson hole would have even remotely good bagels? yeah me neither yet here we are, stanman's writing a 5 star review for a bagel place, in what his small town mind remembers as the middle of nowhere... oh boy...... These bagels come out fresh out of the oven and apparently they time the batches so everyone gets a very warm bagel. The best items here in my honest opinion are the everything bagel along with a few slices tomatoes and their homemade Mexican cream cheese. My only pointer is perhaps they could've baked the bagels a little harder. I like my bagels burnt man, slightly burned and hella crunchy. Sorry bay area accent slipping. But ey, I love you Jackson. Definitely check this place out
google avatar

Sarah V.

Yelp
Such a great bagel place in Jackson. Prices were pretty good too - went two days in a row. Got the premade breakfast sandwich and an everything bagel with Mexican cream cheese and tomatoes 2 loved it! They were not stingy with their bacon or cream cheese, so good!

Lexi S.

Yelp
Cheap and yummy. Fun options. I got spinach feta bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese and it was fuego

Justin S.

Yelp
Did not say the bagels are whole grain, also didn't ask how much cream cheese i wanted and just put extra and charged me for it. Dont get me wrong i love bagels, but this was not a good experience. Especially when you pay almost 5 bucks for a begal.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
get here early! there's always a line. they don't toast their bagels & they only have a certain amount of egg & cheese, BEC, and SEC sandwiches every day so if you get here too late.. they might not have what you're looking for. a few different cookie flavors and the strawberry lemon poppyseed muffin was devine. small space with about 6 tables and some counter seating along the window. honey sunflower bagel with butter & honey will have my coming back every time i'm in town!
