The Best Big Outdoor Spaces For Eating And Drinking

"Nothing says summer like hanging out with all your friends in a car park, right? We’re not talking about a couple of cans leaning on a Vauxhall Corsa though, we’re talking about Peckham Levels. The food and drink floor of this old car hotel is perfect when you’ve got a serious amount of people with seriously different tastes." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak

Bando Belly - Review - Peckham - London - The Infatuation

"A stall on the sixth floor of Peckham Levels, this soul food-influenced spot’s menu has a mix of everything. Think things like a banh mi cheesesteak sub which should come with a “Will Stain Your T-Shirt” warning, and some pulled lamb bara tacos that are equal parts meaty, herby, and messy. The food here is pretty decent, and though we wouldn’t necessarily hop on a train to eat here, it’s a solid option if you’re already in the area. Plus, they’ve got deep-fried oreos on the menu, which means you’re pretty much sorted for dessert." - Rianne Shlebak

Peckham Levels Review - Peckham - London - The Infatuation

"We remember when you’d go to car parks to park your car. Novel, isn’t it? To be fair to Peckham Levels, enormous-behemoth-mega-club aside, this creative space is the best use of a big derelict space. Anything but luxury flats. Anything. Levels is ideal if you’re with a big group who all want different things. There are a load of different food stalls, from fried chicken to vegan-only, and a couple of different bars and spaces depending on how rowdy you want to get." - Jake Missing

This place is awesome. Its so quirky and has a rooftop bar and cafe which is open during the week. The views over central London are amazing. We went because they put in arts performances at the weekends. Been to 2 so far, the first being a double piano recital which was awesome. It's actually a disused multi storey carpark that's been turned into an arts centre. It's a surreal experience sitting on chairs arranged on a concrete floor but it works. Worth checking out. It is funded by private doners so not commercial. Going to 2 more performances later in the year. London symphony orchestra and Rachmaninoff.

I will say that this is a very interesting building with small businesses inside like shops, bars, and takeaways and has a big rootop bar with an amazing view of London. The facilities inside are very run down, and there are hardly any directions with multiple entrances and no parking.

I love it. Its not your average place to eat. It has flavour, it has a local charm. Check it our. And after, go to Frank's on top of the car park right beside the cinema: take the pink staircase all the way up

Really great staff, very quiet and chill vibes. Has some arcade games. The lovely bartender told me that it’s normally quiet here unless there is an event on.

Loved the food from The Grub Club. Definitely a highlight of the place. A place to gather and chill and hang out with pretty much most of what you'd need if you have good company. Music, a bar, a few places to eat, karaoke. The karaoke room is very small but still a decent place to enjoy when in the company of friends.

Fun spot lots of murals and things to do inside

A derelict, dull, dump of a venue with a very rude staff member yelling at us, vape in hand, that we had to leave due to a private party. This was despite being let in but told they were about to close for the night, and the venue being almost empty. It has a couple of redeeming features, the view and simple arcade games, but nothing you can’t get elsewhere in London. Very quiet place with a weird vibe, the staff and the venue seem confused about what it is actually trying to be. Overall a very strange experience.

This was a really cool hidden gem to find in a recent London visit. A little hard to find if you don't know it's there. The area it's in feels a little "dodgier" than other parts of London, but no complaints overall. It wasn't busy at all when we were there, but imagine it could get quite vibey when having set events.
