Peckish - Review - Kirkwood - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Did Atlanta need another brunch restaurant? No. But was it missing aCaribbean,tapas-style brunch? Yes. That's why we're excited for Peckish—the newest restaurant in the carousel of ever-changing food offerings inside Pullman Yard. Open Thursday-Sunday, you can expect dishes like a rasta pasta basket, oxtail empanadas, seafood hush puppies, and shrimp and grits." - Juli Horsford

This place was great. Very awesome vibe and a unique cuisine. Came for the brunch and the menu was full of variety and easy to try out different options with the small-plate style. Not sure about the special sauce, I feel like it could be enhanced a bit. Overall would recommend to anyone and will be back to try out dinner. Parking is comped!

A hidden gem at Pullman Yards. This spot would be perfect for a date, friends gathering, or a family meal. Seating is limited inside but the ambiance gives such a great, intimate feel. The covered patio is spacious and offers a variety of seating. Peckish offers a unique cocktail menu, including some infused specialty cocktails. The food! If you are looking for elevated comfort food with an island twist, you will love it. Every dish tastes as good as it looks. Every dish was fresh, hot, and flavorful. Even picky eaters will enjoy the jerk wings appetizer and the chicken entree. Save room for dessert! Chef Tamara is a pastry genius. The desserts look too good to be edible, but every bite is just as delicious as it is beautiful. You will want to try them all. Try the fruity pebble double doozie and introduce your adult palette to your childhood Saturday morning.

Everything was phenomenal from pulling in and getting greeted by the parking assistant, to the phenomenal food. On top of that, the service was impeccable. The chef herself came to our table to check on everything. The bartender made the most amazing rum punch I ever had. The desserts were so realistic. I thought they were just decorations in the case lol. The vibe was really nice as well, it was giving rooftop without being on a rooftop. The whole aesthetic of Pullman is beautiful and super creative. Peckish fits right in. I was so amazed with everything and I literally have been there since she opened. I Highly recommend it!!

We a had a fun cute time. The experience was perfect for Saturday brunch. It’s a small establishment so getting there at opening gave us more options for seating. My only complaint is parking. You pay for parking and then get a credit back after you eat. A parking ticket was mailed to my house even though I paid to park. The ticket was dismissed after I sent proof of my parking. I’m just happy I didn’t delete the parking text notification. Otherwise I would have had to pay $85 parking violation. You should definitely get the tower. Tasting several things with tea was so fun.

We went to Peckish to try their High Tea service. What we experienced was remarkable! Before we started, the desserts on display were works of arts. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious beyond expectations. We could not pick a favorite. The Potted Plant dessert highlighted in the photos - everything was edible! The combination of flavors - hmmm you have to experience for yourself. Four overly satisfied customers. We will be back. Wish I could find the words to describe it to you!

Such a great and unique spot! Nothing like it in Atlanta. The concept of being a high tea Jamaican brunch is unmatched! The food came out in a timely manner and was hot and fresh! I went on a Sunday around 12noon. I do recommend getting a reservation because it does get very busy. I sat at the bar which was fine for me and my guest. My bartender Sabrina was fantastic and nice, she'll get you right everytime. Food : I ordered the shrimp and grits, the peaches n cream stuffed waffles, the seafood hushpuppies and the lox sandwich. The portion sizes are great because you can taste everything without being super stuffed. I do also recommend getting the high tower , well worth the price and you get multiple options plus dessert ! The desserts are insane! They look to good to eat but trust me they got devoured lol.

This was my first time dining at this restaurant. Please be warned that the portion sizes are very small. Almost reminds me of appetizer servings. Nevertheless, the quality of the food was good. The smoked jerk wings tasted good, but I didn’t taste any hints of jerk seasoning on the chicken or in the sauce that was provided for the chicken. Our server wasn’t all that great but she wasn’t bad either. One thing I found strange is that the manager, or who I assumed was the manager, went around to each table to check on the customers, but she bypassed our table. Literally bypassed our table. Lol. I’m not sure what that was about. It would have been nice to be acknowledged just like the other customers in the building. Overall, the food was good, service was decent, but I don’t think I would visit here again.

I’ve been here twice now for brunch, and I love it. It’s tapas style so the proportions are small. Favorites are the hot honey chicken biscuits and empanadas. The sky juice cocktail was a hit also. They have a selection of unique desserts that are amazing as well. Parking is in front of the restaurant, and they validate for up to 2 hours.

Yelp
Service is a bit slow, but food is ALWAYS good Things we've loved: Seafood hushpuppies Oxtail empanadas Hibiscus Spritz cocktail Passionfruit lemonade Avocado Panna Cotta is SO GOOD. I usually prefer my avocado things chunky High Tea Tower was so cute! The amount of snacks on it can probably feed 2-3, depending on how hungry you are. Curry Goat had a creamy coleslaw on top. Im more accustomed to pickled veggies with curry and not creamy coleslaw so that was off-putting. I'd order it again and just ask for the coleslaw to be removed.

Yelp
Everyone should try this place. It is a great spot for brunch or dinner. The owner and staff are extremely sweet and want you to enjoy yourself. This venue is in the Pullman area. It is off on a side street and the entrance faces the parking lot. You will only know this place exist if someone else tells you about it. Oh, you have to pay for parking but the establishment will give 2 hours of validated parking if you ask. I ordered the Oxtail empanadas, Shrimp and Grits, and Lox. They were served to me like tapas. The Oxtail empanadas tasted great and were filled with meat. I love the meat to bread ratio. The Shrimp and Grits had a deep fried grit cake. It tasted good. The Lox were my favorite. It tasted the best to me and so fresh. I also love the colors. The venue itself has and outdoor patio and two bars. I would stop by here all the time if I lived closer. I will come by again and try their dinner next.

Yelp
Perfect small dishes that allow trying a several different items. Flavor profiles are deliciously balanced. Presentation is spot on. Service was excellent. Our wait person was helpful, informative, and friendly. A+! We sat outside on the patio; decor is industrial with a feminine pastry shop touch.

Yelp
I came here to have brunch with friends. We sat out on the patio. The menu is small and their menu items are more like Tapas, hence, the name Peckish. Also, they have really cute desserts, and there's some of them are smaller than others for the price point. Nonetheless, it's definitely a nice place. Food is tasty. I would go to again but I would not go hungry. I would go if I was feeling peckish, lol.

Yelp
I went to PECKISH September 13th, 2025 with my female family members. We meet once a month to hang out and catch up. PECKISH is an urban like restaurant with a trendy cool vibe. Theres also an out side area that's great to hang out as well. The waitress was on point. She explained everything we asked. The food is more à la cart. It wasn't a huge amount of food yet it was filling. The food was very good. They put a twist on more commonly known foods. Bathroom was very clean. I'd recommend going there.

Yelp
A friend and I visited Peckish for a late Sunday brunch. We had a reservation for 1:30pm but it wasn't busy. We were sat promptly and our server came over shortly after. We started with drinks and a few items from the menu. My friend got the Bay Breeze and I got the Starboard Light, which was strong. To eat, we got the Jerk Wings, Oxtail Empanadas, and Seafood Hush puppies. All were very delicious. We ended up with a second order of the seafood hush puppies then added the Tostones, and Ackee and Saltfish Fishbone. I did not have high hopes for the Ackee and Saltfish based off the postings on IG, as well as the salted cod cream that was listed. It was not to my liking and it was very small. I love traditional Ackee and saltfish. We both decided to try the Sky Juice and were not a fan. However, I got the Hibiscus Spritz as a replacement and it was good but tasted light on the tequila, which I thought was my error because I forgot to say I wanted it with tequila. My server said it was added but was kind enough to bring me an extra shot anyway. The music was very nice. It was mostly reggae and dancehall with a mix of a few American songs in between. What I enjoyed most were the pastries. I got a few to go - Full Moon, Red Velvet Flower, and Double Doozie (flavor of the day was peaches and cream). All were delicious. I want to note that parking is paid at $8.20 an hour and they will reimburse you for up to 2 hours. We extended ours by one hour so the reimbursement only went through for one hour. They advised they would fix it. It's the end of the week and I'm still waiting for the full reimbursement.

Yelp
The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, date brunch.. Honestly whatever day you trying to go. Gorgeous atmosphere, you have to try that tower.. everything edible & usually I go to eat something after tapas... that's not the case at all.. Very filling, I was shocked. I can't wait to go back. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. It's a cool vibe and the food is delicious. A must go.

Yelp
Stopped in for an afternoon tea and left with some beautiful desserts. My friend opted to get the tea, which was big enough to share for 2-4 people - a great deal if you ask me. The mimosas were so good but I didn't go bottomless because I was too curious about trying the cocktails instead. Our server was very friendly and walked us through the menu. The brunch portions were tapas style, so small plates. The desserts were so beautifully made and delicious. I loved the tie back to the Jamaican roots and American palate. They make great gifts too. We enjoyed the patio layout and great location next to Pullman Yards. They are only serving breakfast/brunch for now but I will be back when dinner service starts.

Yelp
Peckish was a pleasure! They valet parking for up to two hours, which is a plus, being located in Pullman Yards. I love the location because Pullman Yards is a great stop after dining at Peckish. Tamara Hewitt; the executive chef and owner, began as a pastry chef. It is truly apparent as every dish is intentional, with selective tapas that range from seafood hush puppies to roasted jerk wings and oxtail empanadas, even classics like shrimp and grits. Tamara's culture and representation of who she is is truly felt and found in every dish. Every single dish on their menu, I have tried, each one is delicious and bursting with flavor. And just the cutest desserts, you have to get a dessert. The hospitable, friendly and welcoming customer service also lend to the amazing food experience I have when visiting. Truly a pleasure to dine here and I always look forward to coming again.

Yelp
Food was very good!. But $17 for 4 wings is crazy. Will save room for more deserts next time

Yelp
Let's start with why we were there in the first place the food and desserts! 10 out of 10 would recommend they are small but mighty, tapas style but full of flavor! The service was top tier! Who we thought was part of the waitstaff and was so sweet as she dropped off our food ended up being the owner. She shared her journey to entrepreneurship with us and it is a testament to faith and hard work ! Do yourself a favor and go support this amazing business you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Went for a girl's brunch this past Saturday and what a treat! The food is tapas-style so order at least 2 items if you're even slightly hungry. The real stars of the restaurant are the desserts -- so creative and well done and that's just how they present before you eat them! I really enjoyed my meal as did everyone else in the group. Give this restaurant a try. They also validate parking for 2 hours.

Yelp
I have never been to such a poorly managed establishment anywhere in the world, not even other places in Atlanta. We waited for more than 30 minutes before we even got glasses of water. Eventually, we got some tea. At the hour mark, I finally got a single mimosa that the order had not previously been placed for as the server simply forgot. Dirty glasses. My three-person party was seated at two tables pushed together. The tables were different heights and one had an uneven leg where water kept spilling as the lopsided table kept shifting whenever someone put items on it. Nearly an hour and a half in, we finally got food. I wanted to leave. The only reason we didn't is because we were there to celebrate my mother's birthday and she insisted on staying. I simply don't understand the lack of professional restaurant management here. Even with a broken printer, why would it ever take these kinds of times to serve food? We were stuck there for something like two and a half hours, because in the end, our contingent staff server left and no one else knew to take her place! The manager offered a discount which didn't appear on the bill until the third time our new server brought it over! I asked for the last part of our food that we hadn't gotten to go. The server forgot and plated it. Then we had to wait even longer as she went to put the items in to go boxes. I would never come back here! I simply don't have this level of patience for poor, mismanaged service, including break downs in front of house and back of house service coordination.
