I was very disappointed in Pecorino's tonight. I've had the food before, so this is not a commentary on their food - which is delicious and includes my old Perricone's favorites. Rather it is a commentary regarding their service. I ordered Pecorino's tonight for delivery. They charged a $7 delivery fee which is high, but I was willing to pay because this was a special occasion and my home is not particularly close to the store - although it is within their delivery range. About 40 minutes after I ordered, they called to say the food was ready but it would take another 40 minutes to get to me based on a storm - again, I was willing to wait for the food. Then they told me they would double the delivery fee to $15 despite the original bill stating the fee would be $7. Allegedly they can't control the fee when you order via Toast (which is how you order via the Pecorino's website). They lost an $80 order tonight and my future business. If a business states it is charging a fee, it is highly inappropriate to change that fee. If it was a mistake due to Toast's limitation, as the employee claimed, the business should have either (1) called right away, not almost 40 minutes after I ordered or (2) absorbed the difference in the fee. Pecorinos did allow me to cancel the order, but my evening was ruined and the handling of the situation as a whole left a really bad taste in my mouth. I will never order from Pecorino's again after this situation.
