I went to a vocal peer's recital on this side of town and realized that Pedal & Pour was just a 10-minute drive down the road. I've had my eye on them for a long time but never got the chance to visit them because they're just too far away from where I live. After the recital, I made my way down here.
Pedal & Pour, on Maule Avenue just off Fort Apache, is more than just a coffee shop - this is also a bicycle shop where you can buy/rent a bicycle or bring it in to have it repaired. While waiting for my coffee to come out, I saw one guy come in and drop off his bike to have it serviced. One side of this establishment has a coffee counter and the other side has bicycles and other related merchandise. I took a minute to look over their menu before asking the barista what their black and white mocha was. He explained to me that they use dark chocolate and vanilla flavors in it. So, I ended up ordering this drink.
Wow, this was a really good mocha! At first I was expecting its' color to be black and white (hence the name of the drink), but the color was just your average coffee/mocha color with dark chocolate syrup hidden on the bottom. Though I don't own a bicycle but have a huge passion for coffee, if I lived closer to Pedal & Pour, I would definitely be coming back here more frequently. I also like how it's located next to a street that has little to no traffic, making this a quiet environment all around.
I'm not gonna lie here, but the barista was cute, even though I already have a boyfriend. I wish I remembered names at this point.
