Asheville Chef Katie Button Heads Up Florence Wine & Food Festival Finale | Eater Carolinas

"An annual wine-and-food weekend in Florence, South Carolina (March 30–April 1) that brings together local chefs, regional producers, and visiting culinary talent. The weekend kicks off Thursday with a Meat & Meander event focused on grilled and smoked foods, includes tastings of restaurants, produce, and specialty foods from the Pee Dee region, and culminates on Saturday, April 1 with a 300-person, Spanish-inspired finale dinner led by James Beard Award–winning chef Katie Button; the evening will also feature wines from an Oregon winery and be emceed by food and travel journalists Matt and Ted Lee. The event has been reshaped in recent years with input from the Lee Brothers, who have long ties to Florence and a background in cookbooks, television, and high-end catering. Tickets are available online." - Erin Perkins

My husband and I stop here every time we drive by to visit family. It’s a great place to grab delicious fruits and vegetables to share on our travels. This family friendly market is awesome! McLeod has the best peaches! We also stocked up on tomatoes, corn, and local honey. They are kind enough to help us to our car. Grabbing an ice cream at McLeod’s and a bag of Kettle Corn from a vendor at the end of the building made us happy!

Love this place! My boyfriend and I come here every week for something—whether it’s veggies, fruit, or a new plant. They also host festivals throughout the year, and on August 20th we caught a car show with FREE mini golf and E-car racing inside the drive area. The humane society came with puppies and some Vendors do sales during these festivals, so I always try to come to them! There were snacks like popcorn and fresh coffee, plus the smell of homemade honey and candles from the vendors next door. I’ll never stop buying plants here. the prices, quality, and friendly people just can’t be beat! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5.

Stopped for gas & spotted this place. This was quite the experience. A drive thru/park inside market. The folks were super nice & welcoming...true Southern hospitality. Bought field peas, peaches, plums, sweet tea AND boiled peanuts. 😋 Oh and there are plants & what-nots.

This is the must go to market. They have everything you vould want. Anything from kettle corn to icecream to plants, fruits and vegetables. Last year we got our Christmas tree from there and it was still alive until April. I like to get my raw peanuts to boil from there. It's the best place to buy the small Spanish peanuts and they are awesome.

Our family absolutely loved our visit to the Pee Dee Farmer’s Market! From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place had something special. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with the scent of fresh produce and flowers, made it a joy to explore. My wife, son, and I had a wonderful time browsing the various stalls, tasting local treats, and picking out unique, handmade items. It was more than just a shopping trip—it was an experience that brought us together and left us with cherished memories. The friendly vendors and relaxed environment made it easy to enjoy every moment. We can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely a great visit, and I managed to get tons of pictures. If you love plants & such this is a must visit. For my first visit here I picked a Tuesday around noon, and I was very slow giving me time to snap all these photos for your viewing pleasures. I will be back & encourage others to check this place out!

We stopped-by on a day when most of the Vendor's Booths were Closed. However, we did nab some Fresh Fruits & Veggies. The Market is actually a Completely Covered Drive-thru, making it Extremely Convenient for Shopping-!

Google
This is a unique place being a drive through farmers market. They need to enforce the stop your engine while shopping rule though. Good selection of fresh produce and plants. Some of the best kettle corn u have ever eaten. All the vendors are friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Nice place to come and get locally grown vegetables and fruits! There are other shops to get jam , seafood , plants and more ! Everyone is friendly and welcoming. It's very spacious for under the tent parking and outside parking. Decorated for the fall season and it's beautiful .

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this farmers market. I come here often because it's close to my office. It's incredibly convenient because the market is under a roof and you can drive in, find the stall you want, park next to it while you are under the roof, and pick up what you need. Lamb's Farm is my go to stall but I've been to all of them. There is also a seafood stall, several vegetable stalls, and numerous craft stalls. Being that all are local farms and vendors, you can expect outstanding service. One time at the Lamb's stall, I had a cantaloupe along with some vegetables I was buying and the lady at the register noticed a blemish on the cantaloupe. She had someone get me another cantaloupe and didn't charge me for the one with the blemish. There is plenty of parking both inside and outside along with EV charging stations. Clean bathrooms are available also.

Yelp
Large variety of farmer's market foods. We only drove through so not able to experience customer services however someone in the the coffee shop kiosk last on the left was friendly and waved. The setup of the drive through or parking was convenient. Looking forward to returning when I can actually get out and enjoy!

Yelp
Lots of options for such a cheap price. I am very happy it's open M-Sat because most markets aren't. I'll be coming a lot.

Yelp
Everything you could ask for in a farmer's market!! Also pretty interesting is the fact that you can drive your car through the market. And they will bring what you pick to your car.

Yelp
This Farmer's market is close to our home and my wife likes plants/produce. There is 1 main metal roofed structure that houses everything. Patrons can park close or drive thru main building. There's little bit of everything you'd expect plants, honey, jellies, ice cream, produce, local vendors, eatery, antiques. We purchased 2 mums, 4 pumpkins diff color & size. This locale is easy to get in don't have to walk far. Is open weekends and weekdays till 6, come down check it out.

Yelp
This was a cool farmer's market in an open air barn on the property. There were restrooms on site that accommodated two people at a time. There was ample parking underneath the barn and additional parking outside. There was a decent selection of home crafted items, plants, jellies, jams, miscellaneous pickled food products, kettle corn, and laser cut cups/drink ware and wall art. Most of the vendors seemed to only appear on weekends, but had items in their booths throughout the week. We really liked some of the laser cut wall art items and were able to call the owner, Venmo our payment over the phone, and still make a purchase. In his case, there were cameras monitoring the booth so don't think you'll be getting away with anything. Overall, it's a cool market with some decent vendors. The overall vibe was somewhere between a nursery, farmers market, and crafting show.

Yelp
We came down for a nascar race in darlington and saw this market and had to come back. They had a good size car show out on the grounds but then it was the best farmers market to be seen! It was a huge metal building which is great all year I bet! People could drive in, park snd venders were front to back on both sides. I saw beautiful produces, home made spices, a local winery, jewelry booths, flags for patio, kettle corn.. and the big big bag was only $7! Anything you could have wanted was in there. In middle there was a room with sliding glass doors to buy jams, jellies, homemade canned and pickled produce, home made breads! It was a great place to shop. We picked up some spices, wine, and kettle corn. We had great visit there and everyone was very friendly

Yelp
The market was nice and good vendors. We went in March and it wasn't full and not a whole lot of vendors. I think visiting late spring and summer will provide the visitors with more selections. Worth a visit and to support locals.

Yelp
Wow!!! I have never seen such a big farmers market in my life. You drive up under this metal car port, park your car and get out and shop all of the stands set up along the sides of the pavement. They had cheese and wine tasting, homegrown fruits and vegetables, boiled peanuts, fresh flowers and plants, jarred jellies, jams and marinates. Great place to shop for organic produce!

Yelp
Excellent variety, lots of vendors, friendly southern service. Vendors selling: Flags, wine, jams, produce, flowers, plants, Julia Belles restaurant, lobster, statues, and a whole other inside facility with lots of interesting items

Yelp
Great market! The owners are incredibly nice and they have everything from fruits and veggies to cheese and flowers.

Yelp
Went late October. Fall flowers were available and looked nice. We picked up sweet potatoes and local honey. Both very sweet and delicious. If we ever drive down 95 again, will make a stop. Well worth the time and a slight detour from RT 95.
