I was in the area and stopped here for coffee. Glad I did because it was delicious. I nice spot to relax or do work!

I was never really crazy about this place. More recently, I have come here out of convenience, being I have had several appointments next door. Today was the icing on the cake for me. The person at the register took my order in which I asked for whipped cream in my light roast coffee. Tattoo guy handed me my coffee without any whipped cream which I then, Again asked for. He said, "Oh... Well...we usually charge extra for that, but it's Friday so I guess it's okay". And I thought, "are you kidding me'??? He wouldn't even let me respond and walked off. Meanwhile, I went back up to him, pointed at the cash register person and said, "Hey, I asked for whipped cream when he rung me up". And, just like before, he basically ignored me, mumbled something, and walked off. So here's a thought... Hey Peets, maybe try hiring someone WITH A PERSONALITY, that doesn't HATE DEALING WITH THE PUBLIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely my last trip to Peets. Convenient or not, I'll walk across the train tracks to Starbucks where they at least treat people like PAYING CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I usually love coming here for coffee and to study, it’s been a go-to spot for me. Unfortunately, my experience has me considering never coming back to this location again. I had an interaction with a staff member (didn’t catch his name, but he’s bald with tattoos) who seemed to be having a very difficult day and made sure everyone else knew it too. All I ordered was a regular latte, nothing complicated, but he was rolling his eyes at me like I asked for something outrageous, it was a very theatrical performance for a coffee shop worker taking an order (which I assume is just a standard part of his job.) From the way he was speaking to me as well as the man who ordered before me you’d think we did something terrible to offend him, however the terrible thing we did to him was come in while he was working I guess! When it was time for me to pay, I didn’t hear what he said—I thought he was just giving me the total so I started pulling out my money. Instead of repeating himself or clarifying, he just stared at me and then loudly said, “Guess not! Your total is $7,” in the most unnecessary tone. It was honestly so embarrassing and people were staring. I said I didn’t hear him, and he just rolled his eyes again and slowly repeated “your. total. is. seven. dollars,” like I was a child. It honestly ruined the whole thing for me so much that I just left after grabbing my drink and didn’t even stay to do my work like I’d planned. Being an adult (especially a grown man) usually comes with some baseline social skills. If working in customer service is too emotionally draining, perhaps it’s time to explore other options that bring you more joy—or at least don’t involve interacting with the public! We all have bad days, but as adults it’s expected that we are mature enough to leave that at home, especially when you are at work. Seems like this is unfortunately his every day personality as there are multiple bad reviews about him. 40-something year old man with the personality of a pms-ing teenage girl— how unfortunate.

Google
Overall a good experience. Lots of room to spread out and get some work done with lots of seating. Espresso was great with a hint of sweetness behind it. Paid a little over $3 which is reasonable. Bakery looked enticing to try out. Staff is nice and service is quick. Not a bad coffee shop if you're in downtown Downers Grove!

Google
Pretty disappointed to see they were out of the vegan sandwich and about half of the others too. Organize and outside need a very thorough cleaning. Service was nice and pleasant though.

Google
The baristas do great job. ! And actually fixing coffee drinks for customers not like the competition ....price $$$wise is very similar to the competition. But it is worth to stop by if you like real coffee

Google
Great place to grab a coffee. Have picked up espresso beans a few times here as well and the man was very nice and helpful about it. Quick service, good vibes, great coffee.

Google
I only went there because I had a gift card. It's kind of far from where I live. But I got some things I needed, they were nice. A bit too expensive for me to go back though but I'm sure the coffee is great!

Yelp
My first time coming to Peet's Coffee. I came here for the Downer's Grove Christmas Tree Light Ceremony. The line was out the door to get inside this coffee shop. Luckily the line was moving quickly and I didn't have to wait outside in the cold. This location is spacious and have plenty of table areas for you to seat. I placed my order and didn't have to wait a long time for my order. They also have a bakery that is filled with some good looking desserts. But I opt out of ordering dessert. Instead I ordered a hot chocolate to keep myself warm. This seems like a nice neighborhood coffee shop to come and grab a cup of coffee with friends.

Yelp
A pretty large Peets location with plenty of tables. The interior was clean and looked relatively new. Pleasant experience with staff as well. The coffee is solid and usually go with the Iced Latte. This time I tried the Horchata Cold Brew Oat Latte and it wasn't bad, a little too sweet for me.

Yelp
im a big fan of peets. 99/100 times they are very consistent with their coffee. a very solid latte and wide variety of drinks to choose from. the savory bakery items ive tried have always been great,, i like the crispy ham&swiss a lot. vegetarian options not bad 2. and i believe they stopped upcharging for non-dairy milks...yay peets!!!

Yelp
FIRST TIME HERE Peet's Coffee Naperville IL Location My first time here and I ordered a pumpkin spice latte with a waffle and chicken sandwich. The employee didn't ask if I wanted to sit in or order for to-go but I would've appreciate if they did. They had to remake my order because everything was wrong. I wanted the pumpkin spice latte was for there and tasted like a Regular latte without the Pumpkin Spice. The chicken and waffles had a mixture of a stale hard exterior and a soggy side. Hopefully the Second visit would be better. - Serious Yelp Reviewer, Sophia Nguyen

Yelp
Mike and his team are always welcoming and kind, they always greet me by name and share friendly stories from their week. Mike must be great at hiring because literally everyone who works here is speedy, kind and genuinely seems to like their job. I love being a regular at this Peet's!

Debora W.

Yelp
Stopped in to take a poopsie, had to order a food so I got the buttered croissant. It appears someone had one too many espresso shots and obliterated the toilet leaving skidies everywhere. Buttered croissant 7.6/10

Yelp
The owner, whom I presume he is, is an a-hole. For some reason this place seems to be more popular than the Starbucks across the street, despite the name recognition. They do have more seating, which could be a factor. The Starbucks is not as friendly as they used to be either, particularly after changing their "open door" policy, but still better. I also wrote a review for that coffee shop, which you can read.

Adam A.

Yelp
I was over there about 2 weeks and the lady told me that I need to be lowering my kindness to others. Who does she think she is like telling me what to say and what not to say to others. I'm never coming here again. Some of the staff was nice. This one girl needs to realize that you don't tell anybody how to be nice to others.

Yelp
Had a tea from here was very nice and enjoyable. Service was quick and nice. Ambiance is great chill area vibe next to the train station.

Yelp
While I haven't eaten here I have had delivery from them many times. My order has always been correct and well packaged. This morning I had the Blueberry lemon muffin and a cafe latte. The coffee latte is steamed milk, two shots of espresso, and a layer of foam. They have a variety of syrups, and toppings as well as a choice of sweeteners to add to your drink, as well as several milk options. I went with non fat milk, sugar free vanilla syrup, Sucralose sweetener, and cinnamon for a topping. The coffee was warm, somewhat sweet but not overly, and had an overall enjoyable flavor. A really good cup of coffee. With the muffin, they can warm it up for you which is always nice. The muffin had a crunchy and sweet top, and a soft and fluffy inside and bottom. The blueberries were large and plentiful. It was a really good muffin, and a great special treat. The prices for the quality are very reasonable. I recommend them.

Yelp
Pleasant enough service but SLOW. Took almost 25 minutes for a lukewarm coffee. At these prices you're better off hitting the Starbucks across the street or a nearby Dunkin.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid coffee. Came here on a Saturday around noon. Needed a quick jolt. Service was somewhat slow because the employees were preoccupied; however, once I ordered, I was promptly served. The coffee was piping hot and tasty.

Yelp
GREAT drinks and pastries . Love the Black Tie and waffle sandwiches. And of course. Fantastic study spot.

Yelp
I'm so incredibly happy that Peet's has jumped in the plant based train!! I now drive 6.5 miles out of my way, at least 3 times a week to get my coffee and plant based breakfast sandwich from here. The sandwich IS AMAZING!!!!! Job well done, it's not easy getting plant based alternatives right, but you did it! I've had several of my non-plant based co-workers try it, and they all agreed it tastes like the real deal. Also, since oat milk has become "trendy".. I find that competitors run out of it more often than not. Not Pete's, it at-least this location. They have my order every time, they never have made a mistake and they're so friendly. Thanks for being open minded to different consumption preferences.

Yelp
Dirty cup and bad really bad matcha Tastes like oats And super foamy , I ordered with oat milk and I understand it's gonna taste like oats but not the whole drink !!! Seems like steamed oat milk with lots of foam , since I work in coffee shop as well I know how real matcha should taste , I've tried so many matchas this is the worst one ! -10 out of 10

Yelp
Peet's does it again! Fabulous staff & customer service I appreciate the warm greeting when walking in. Peet's brings me joy!! Keep it coming!

Yelp
I'll begin by stating that I go to Peet's quite often whenever I see it and the line is short. I have always gotten the Black Tie, because it is truly unique and delicious as a drink. So when I walked into the shop, I saw that they had a coconut option so I ordered the Coconut Black Tie, it added an extra sweetness to the drink that usually would not be there. (Plus when you check in via Yelp! you get $1.00 off of your drink order if it is one of their drinks that include coconut). The staff was friendly and service was fast despite the line that was behind me and in front of me beforehand. I got my coffee within 2 minutes after ordering which was nice, quicker than Starbucks that's for sure. The ambiance of Peet's is pretty laid back, you can see people in there with their laptops doing school work or seeing old friends catching up with one another over some coffee. I intend to go back to this location for their fast service.

Yelp
It's worth visiting quick excellent service and the aromatic smells of coffees (amazing) I've had the iced matcha latte so creamy just perfection. Also had a breakfast sandwich with beyond breakfast sausage wonderful and tasty. The only negative is it gets really crowded my idea to beat the crowds go really early for breakfast. Great Place!

Yelp
Real good. It's essentially a Starbucks but they have some nice variety. Workers were attentive and welcoming. All drinks were well made and a perfect temperature.

Yelp
This place is a fantastic study spot, not only because they have coffee and tea, but the staff and the patrons make it friendly and comfortable. The location is fantastic; right on the corner of Downers Grove Main Street. I appreciate how it contributes to making our downtown a nice place! The people here welcome you. Tonight they have a live pianist here playing some original tunes. The songs are interesting, relaxing, and inviting. It's loud enough to hear from across the room, but not so loud that it's annoying and you can't hear yourself think. A small crowd is gathered around him listening, and in between songs he will give a short explanation of the music he is about to play: how he composed the rhythms and the fluctuations in keys. Another good thing I noticed Pete's doing is collecting school supplies for families in the Downers Grove district 58. One of the employees set it up in conjunction with citywave.org. They've got a neat 5 foot tall sign (designed by someone with marketing skills I could only hope for), and a box with colored pencils, binders, a lunch box, etc. that people have donated. It's set up right next to the coffee bean bins. Obviously, Pete's wouldn't have a successful chain if it did not have great coffee and tea. I'm getting a fancy, spicy, black tea - the Masala Chai. If you're looking for a chill place in the west Burbs, now you know where to go.

Yelp
Coffee and snacks are sub-par, but management is awful. I was in the middle of ordering my drink when I was interrupted by the manager asking if I had a mask. I responded with no, and I was told to get one at the front. I asked if I could finish paying for my order and was told 'no'. At this point I should've walked out. I asked if they knew that I would be removing the mask once I get the drink 30 seconds later. Funny enough, during this very conversation, all the customers who already ordered did not have a mask on. It's a confusing concept. I guess covid can't get ya if you have a coffee in hand? I'd recommend going to a local coffee shop that has common sense rather than Peets.

Yelp
My fiancé and I went in to Peet's Coffee to use the restroom. They had a keypad on their restroom doors so he went to ask the girl at the counter for the code. The first thing out of her mouth was "Are you guys going to order something after?" Implying only paying customers are allowed to use their restrooms. He said yes so she gave him the code. I noticed the bathroom signs indicate they are unisex now and there was also a large rainbow flag painted on the window. Both of these things indicate the company cares about human rights and treating people equally. Ironic. Ps. The bathroom code is 0310*

Yelp
I love Pete's! Amazing coffee and setting. I enjoy coming to this place to get homework done. There's plenty of space to set up my laptop and books. It's surrounded by window so you can get that nice natural light. Very cozy. The staff is great! They had a bit of a rush and they were very efficient. The barista making the coffee asked what I would be ordering before I even got to the register to order! That blew my mind! Bathrooms where nice and clean always stocked. It's great for homework, great for meeting up with friends. I've had a couple of study groups meet there too. They have a big table in the back that's good for groups. There's also little trinkets like coffee mugs and what nots that make a nice gift for my coffee lover friends. Thank you Pete's Coffee!

Yelp
I stopped in for a tea in the evening and appreciated the customer service provided by the very friendly and welcoming barista Ashley. My drink was prepared correctly and quickly. I was greeted warmly upon arrival as well as wished a happy evening when I departed. The space is really large and nicely spread out so there is plenty of room to sit & chat or maybe get a bit of work done. It was about half full but surprisingly wasn't noisy so there must be good acoustics. I got my tea to go but it seems like a nice, quiet, tidy place to chill on a Monday night.

Yelp
So they were really friendly I am from the Bay Area and I accidentally order my coffee over there and they gladly did my order there for no charge

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place because La Fortuna was closed even though their hours differed, but luckily things happen for a reason. This place is located right across from the train station in a beautiful town. The decor - lovely, reminds me of a train station. The people were nice and answered any questions I had. Not to mention if you check in on Yelp you get $1 off any coconut drinks. We ordered an iced coconut black tie and a hot vanilla latte. The coconut black tie is oh my goodness so good!! I usually do not like coconut (or maybe I'm starting to like it) but this drink has a nice, subtle, bright coconut flavor and sweetened just right. The vanilla latte was good as well. Recommend trying those coconut drinks, and probably will be back later this week for a quick pick me up!

Yelp
The ambiance is nice for what it is. Ample spots to sit and plug in, or red. The staff is friendly and helpful and the menu selection is perfect.

Yelp
I am usually loyal to Starbucks but this Peets location is amazing! Very friendly staff. Delicious coffee. I always love to go there and work or meet a friend for coffrr.
google avatar

Jeff G.

Yelp
The best coffee shop in the area. I recommend for both excellent quality coffee beans to take home and the excellent selection of the in house prepared beverages. Friendly staff knows their craft from pour overs to French Press or a well made Havana Cappuccino I wish I was there now.

Yelp
New, clean, spacious coffee shop on the corner near the DG train station. One corner down is Starbucks so you have your choice of study spots/coffee shop to hit up. Peet's has a lot of tables and chairs for you to sit and study. The baristas are very knowledgable in the drinks. I ordered a medium matcha tea latte and opted for vanilla instead of simple syrup and it was delicious. The barista recommended to try peppermint next time if I want to try something dangerous haha. I will definitely come back here to study or have a casual first date! Easy parking around the neighborhood. Two hour free street parking and parking garage not too far away. Lots of outside lighting but at night, they have brightly lit lights, too. One small complaint is the music is a tad loud.
google avatar

Julia N.

Yelp
Coffee is incredible! My boyfriend's sister brought me here, we both got iced vanilla lattes. 10/10. I'm visiting from Seattle, where we apparently have this coffee joint too. Now that I know how great it is, i'm going to ge it whenever I can back home!
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
Two thumbs up for Peet's maple latte! Their cinnamon hazelnut latte and chocolate dipped macaroons make it to the top of the list too. There are plenty of tables (outlets included) for you to either get loads of work done, or converse with your pals from Midwestern, which is minutes away. The baristas are incredibly friendly and know how to make just about any drink, even if it may not be on the menu. My only concern is that I always seem to have a problem with the wifi connection there. Could just be my computer. Nonetheless, my coffee buzz keeps me sane. Go there!
google avatar

May M.

Yelp
What can I say? Delicious coffee. Cute and quaint place. Creative and unique on the inside. Plenty of seating. Friendly staff that likes their job and has fun. If I could go everyday I would. I'm in loooovvveee with their coffee. Mmmmm sooooo good! I get the White Chocolate Caramel with Hazelnut latte and it never disappoints. I recommend this place to everyone!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
The staff here is amazing. The drinks here are delicious. The WIFI here is lacking. 5 star review just waiting to happen if they can fix the Internet situation!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice people, nice place. My son lives the brownie they have, I hope they will bring the parfait back.
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
One of the best places in Downers Grove to grab coffee. The vibe is great and the coffee is delicious. There is plenty of seating even for small groups. The location is right next to the tracks so you can grab a cup of coffee right before boarding the train. I've been here over a dozen times and the service is always spectacular. The barista's really know their coffee and are always nice.
google avatar

Meghan W.

Yelp
I love our local coffee shop! They are always so friendly and the mocha is delicious. I'm the town coordinator for a local kids race and so excited to have them sponsoring our races. They are more than a coffee shop they are part of the community and I'm so thankful for Mike and his willingness to support our non profit.
google avatar

Jay S.

Yelp
This is a follow up to a previous review. The staff has always been great, but they've gotten even better. They have improved their Internet speed, which was my biggest complaint. All in all, one of the best coffee spots around.
google avatar

Zubair K.

Yelp
Good coffee shop in the heart of downers grove. The sitting area is quite nice with tons of places to plug in and do your work. I like their coffee and also the abundance of products they sell at the store. There is a quick parking spot by the store for in and out service.
google avatar

Mr. W.

Yelp
You must try the huge chocolate chip cookie. You must enjoy a breakfast sandwich. You must enjoy the coffee. This place makes mornings nicer! My favorite coffee joint in the area. The "black tie" is expensive (Kohls) but the drink with coconut was smooth if expensive. *looks at you with a poker face *

Yelp
I've been wanting to try out Peet's Coffee for a few months now. I have to admit, I loved Caribou and was a little upset when they started closing up shop. But I don't head to coffee shops very often, so it's not a huge blow. This Peet's is very clean and modern on the inside. There is plenty of seating with small, intimate tables as well as large tables that will fit 6-8 people. There are some healthy pre-packaged snacks like a cheese plate and hummus with carrot sticks ready to go in the fridge unit near the cashier. There is also an array of baked goods like cookies and croissants that were calling myname. The drink menu isn't HUGE but it has everything a coffee shop is supposed to have. And they have regular names for drinks, not the made up names that Startbucks has. I've been here twice in two days and I'm a fan. Yesterday I hopped in quickly to warm up from the cold while walking around doing some shopping at Anderson's Bookstore. I decided to get my standing favorite, a Cafe Au Lait. This usually isn't on the menu - and it wasn't - but the barista knew what it was and it was ready within a minute for me. Delicious, hot and exactly what I ordered. Today I headed back in specifically because yesterday I had earned a check-in offer that I didn't redeem. It was for $1 off a Maple flavored drink. So I ordered a Maple Latte and got a chocolate croissant. The latte was made with care and it was presented beautifully with a swirl design on top. I had my infant daughter with me in the stroller so I only had one hand to handle the coffee, since they give you the cup steaming and with no lid, you have to walk about 15 feet away to the cream/lid station. Needless to say my coffee spilled prior to making it over to where the lids were. I wish the baristas would offer people with their hands full to put the lid on for them. I didn't sit to drink/eat as I had the little one with me, so I headed home. I will remind you NOT to eat a flaky croissant in the car lest you get flakes and crumbs everywhere - looks like I'll be vacuuming the car tonight! I would highly recommend the Maple Latte as well; it's not too sweet and has a smooth finish. For the stroller tolling parents, this location is perfect for a stroller inside as long as it's not crowded. I was able to maneuver the full-sized stroller no problem in here. I will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
I'd been meaning to try it and finally did. Peet's coffee is good! The espresso for sure tastes more fresh than Starbucks although the latte menu options don't seem to have the amount of variety Starbucks has. I visited this location on Thanksgiving Day around midday. I had a bogo e-coupon and I ordered myself a large hot soy salted caramel latte with extra whip. My drink was delicious and I was impressed by the flavors - although the salty savory part was too much for me by the time I reached the bottom of the cup. If I ordered this again I would say no to the sea salt sprinkled on top. I'm used to Starbucks mega sugar loaded drinks so the sea salt part wasn't my favorite here but the caramel and espresso were so smooth. If I had the choice between Starbucks (same street/north the Metra Main Street tracks) and Peet's...I would probably head to Lemon Tree closer to the DG Post Office assuming this was a to go drink. Although I liked Peet's I'd rather visit this location when I could take a seat and enjoy my drink on site. I wasn't a fan of the coffee accessories table location from drink pick up area. To get a lid and cardboard sleeve for my to the brim extra whip drink, I had to carry the drink to another station and stir. I'd prefer if the baristas had lided the drink themselves - maybe the extra whip was why they didn't? I was impressed with the drink creation process as Peet's poured the espresso and then the steamed milk right in front of face. It gave off a handcrafted impression and the baristas were friendly. Overall, this location seems to cater to dine in drinkers. This used to be a Caribou Coffee location and seemed to retain the cozy relax with a hot drink environment. I would love to come back when I can stay a while!

Yelp
Not the place to go if you have a train to catch. My hubs and I got to Petes with plenty of time to order coffee and make our 8 AM train. But that was not in the cards this morning. This barista is literally the slowest person I've ever encounted. She slowly poured the milk in the customer before me's cup as MY TRAIN WAS PULLING IN THE STATION. Then looked up to figure out the next drink. Maybe the coffee is wonderful and aritsinal but I wouldn't know because I raced out the door before the lady even started making my drink and ran for my train so that I could get to my adult job on time. Give me a break. I will never go back.

Yelp
You should definitely go here! Not only is the coffee superb, but the atmosphere takes the cake. Comfortable seating and huge windows invite you to take the time to relax and enjoy a moment of peace. The staff is always welcoming and friendly, ready to make your day that much brighter. It's hard to choose just one drink to stick with, you'll be wanting to try all of them in no time!

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee shops in Downer Grove. Decent price and a cozy environment. My friend and I we got the Maple Latte and the Matcha Green Tea Latte. The Green Tea was aight, however, I strongly recommend the Maple Latte.

Yelp
Peet's Coffee is out of this world!!! I've been drinking Starbucks previous to this and let's be honest it's alright.. however I feel like ppl drink that stuff to feel like they are in a cult lol. The rich taste of coffee, tea, even the baked goods!
google avatar

Kim M.

Yelp
Just had my first amazing Peets experience!! So satisfied. Not sure if it's the location or the staff that day but sooooo great. I will return. Mentioned I was a first time visitor and got $1 off for next drink too. Very nice! The register is in another area from where drinks are made. It just feels so much cleaner that way. Also a nice location right outside of DT Downers train station so you can wait there for your train while you sip on a mean latte with a cute heart. Ahhhh man I will be back sooooon.
google avatar

Maggie W.

Yelp
I really like coming here. If I have a meeting, I always get there early as tables can be tricky to snag sometimes. I've only ever had their teas and they are all good. My kids love their bakery selections. Right across from the train station also!

Yelp
A must visit... This is a must for coffee lovers, many options, great taste, nice ambiance.. I had a Caramel macchiato iced latte and it was really gud..
