Coffee was decent, overpriced, alot of foam on my latte, almost 25% of my cup was foam, considering the latte costs almost $7, I though it was a bit too much, but I guess you can fault me for not telling them no foam. I feel like foam should be something you request instead of the default, but thats the American in me.
The real problem are the self expression of the employees. I understand being a barista/cashier is not a very technical job, but in the years that I've popped in here, I noticed that that aspect doesn't seem to have any limit. A sweaty grown man with facial hair wearing a button indicating that he prefers to be identified as a female is off putting. I'm there to have coffee, not be updated on the nuances of your perceived gender.
Businesses that maintain standards are the ones that thrive these days. Take a walk down the same street this cafe is on and go to any of the fabulous restaurants. None of them use their job as a platform to share their personal beliefs and opinions. The best thing any business can do today would be to focus on the customer experience, instead of allowing employees to hijack that experience to make it about themselves.
I'm sure there will be a response to this review from someone at the store or a DM, thats fine, I'll probably be told to take my business elsewhere, as I will, Peets is a part of my community and thats who I am doing this for.
My opinion: find other cafe's where the coffee is better, more reasonably priced, and the employees are not rushing to shove their personal sex lives in your face.
