"Fairfax’s Coffee Coffee is switching things up, bringing on the one-woman breakfast sandwich Calabama team to overhaul the day-to-day food menu and add a full brunch service. Expect some tweaks and nip and tucks inside, and a whole lot more eggs in the weeks to come." - Farley Elliott

It’s really nice to have a Peet’s Coffee nearby, particularly when there’s a ton of Starbucks in the area. This location is a nice addition to the plaza, a cozy, quaint spot with plenty of parking nearby. I’d gotten so used to settling for Starbucks that I’d forgotten the great tasting flavor of Peet’s coffee brews. The vibe and atmosphere of the coffee shop is similar to any Peet’s location but this has the added benefit of matching the rest of the exterior of the plaza. Overall, we’re really glad to have this Peet’s nearby.

Google
This was one of the rudest coffee shops I’ve ever been to. Save your money and have a better day by visiting the one in Chantilly, or go anywhere else. The girls working there have no place in service or hospitality. Ordered a drink and it was wrong, was scolded on their policies and then she slammed it down saying they would remake it. They then go on to make fun of customers including me later on when I was sitting right there. Of course I’m sure they are not nice people and have tough things going on in their life but this isn’t the job for greeting people in the morning at a coffee shop. Peet’s is such a great place it’s sad that this exists here. Hope they find jobs that fit their mood elsewhere someday.

Peet’s are almost everywhere. It’s almost like Starbucks in that I feel like I see them all the time. Obviously they aren’t quite to the bux level but hopefully you get what I’m saying. So albeit, we saw a Peet’s nearby again, and wanted a coffee and snack to take to the pool with us, and since neither of us had tried it we thought to have a go. I liked the atmosphere, but the product wasn’t quite as successful. My chai latte was decent- warm (but not hot) and did the job. I’ve definitely had better at other places- this one was just kind of plain and almost a little watered down. My cinnamon scone was about the same. It tasted nice but just again was pretty average and nothing to excite over.

I used to love going to this cafe a couple of years ago, but now I can't go back and definitely don't recommend it because of the rudeness of the cashier. I walked in today around 10:30 and was shocked by her attitude. She seemed angry even before I got my turn to order, and was extremely disrespectful in front of me and my kids. She was banging on the machines, and when I finally tried to order, she yelled at me wanting me to say my name. She then fiddled with my order, and gave the last cinnamon roll to someone else right in front of me. I felt like she was waiting for me to react so she could get some of the anger out, but I held back because my kids were there. She continued to be rude and even threw my orders to another table!!!. I didn't want to respond to her to avoid upsetting my kids even more. I asked some of the other employees about her attitude, but they didn't want to say anything and seemed afraid of her. I wanted to talk to the manager to resolve the issue, but they told me he wasn't there either. It was frustrating to see them all so stressed out! I'm really upset with the way I was treated today, and I will never be going back to this place again!!!!

Google
Great coffee--way better than Starbucks. This place was very busy, and the line moved a bit slowly. But the place was clean, and the baristas were friendly. Also, there is a great, dedicated outdoor seating area for good weather. It would be great if Pete's allowed people who want simple drip coffee to help themselves.

Google
Wonderful coffee shop. In addition to the myriad of beverages offered here you can purchase hardware (pots, grinders, scoops). The selection of retail on offer is substantial. Atmosphere is a typical coffee shop. Dark and neutral tones with rustic decor. The shop has a mellow and warm feel.

I visited this Peet's location on a Saturday evening around 7 PM. It is nestled within one of the nooks of Fairfax Corner Mall. (Full disclosure, I prefer the Peet"s roast over Starbucks and the general, overall feel of their cafés.) I like coffee, often get it black, and don't much enjoy lattes. I will get mochas or Capps or just coffee with a packet of sugar. I got a Havana Cappachino, which h is a Capp made with a mix of espresso and condensed milk and I brought home a Harvest Honey Latte for my queen. They were both delicious and my drinks were upgraded to large, most likely because they were out of medium cups. The best part about this location is the overall feel which, at this time of year, is like a wintery inn...just needs a fireplace. Right now, you'll find holiday lights in the trees along the sidewalk so there is a warm, romantic, holiday feel.

Every time when I walked in to Peet's Coffee, makes me feel like home. Smells of coffee and my favorite Caramel Macchiato is the one always make me happy and smile.🥰😊🌞❤❤❤❤❤❤

Yelp
I'd give it zero stars if I could because we were treated so rudely when we came here. It was a super cold night and I was waiting on my son. We arrived 15 minutes before closing time and they were basically already closed. We just wanted two simple hot drinks- a black coffee and a hot tea. The person who waited on us was horrible... grunted at us and acted like we were a huge problem. Barely would speak to us and was so nasty. However as she was pouring our coffee she delightfully asked the other employee that was mopping if she wanted to take all the leftover pastries home. Truly might have been the worst customer experience I have ever had in my entire life! It was disgusting the way we were treated. Work on treating your customers like you want us there to help pay your paycheck.

Yelp
What a wonderful spot this is. Fairfax Corner isn't the most exciting place, but my caffeine addiction is happy this is here. Very high quality coffee, and if not mistaken, slightly less than Starbucks. Just had the Christmas blend which was tasty, as was their croissant. The mocha frap is the best though, but todays cold changed that. Very friendly staff. They also are quite efficient. They'll have your order to you in no time. I like relaxing here in one of the comfortable chairs. These are better than the tables. Parking usually is a cinch, and I've enjoyed several books here kicking back. Escaping the insanity this area can be, can be therapeutic and a recharge.

Yelp
Absolutely love their coffee!!! It's superior to Starbucks The employees at the Fairfax Corner one are absolutely the best!! Always so delightful and kind. Definitely recommend. Especially their Lattes but just even their drip coffee is delicious

Yelp
Parking: there's a lot of parking bc it's a shopping center! There's parallel parking right in front, or tons of parking in the back area. Fairfax corner is a great location to meet people bc it's in the middle of the nova area. Seating: there are seats inside and outside. However there aren't a ton of seats. A lot of people like to study here w their coffee, so it may be a little difficult to find a seat during their peak hours. Fairfax corner has a lot of seats in the middle of the area in front of the movie theater, so you can always go there w your coffee! Food: the Peet's at this location is good. I like their coffee + it's a good location! Bathroom: they have two individual bathrooms. Price: it may seem a little pricey for a cup of coffee, but their coffee is pretty good. Service: the cashier was kind and friendly. They call your order out when it's ready :)

Yelp
Great people, great coffee and teas. I like the atmosphere and allow my baristas to choose what they think I should have for the day. You say, "What if you don't like it, you dummy!" I'm willing to take that chance and the onus is on me. The understanding is 'give me what you think I'll like, but incorporate what you like' and I've had 1 cup that wasn't to my liking in the past 8 years. Great place to meet people and I've developed a couple friendships and acquaintances. Whether you come in for a quick cup of coffee or tea, or you want to take your time, I think you'll enjoy this place and the people who serve you. Just remember to be clear, kind, and courteous. Because they deserve it as well as you and I. Cheers

Yelp
First stop on the way to work with my friend and coworker! This shop is open and airy, not so loud, meaning music in the background not blasting. Very relaxing atmosphere. I got the brown sugar latte; they were featuring oat milk which I like too, but today I wanted milk. It was hot and delicious! We tried the Morning Glory muffin, which when broken open, had carrot, raisins and a little coconut on top. I asked for it warmed and it was very good. This stop was well worth it and was a nice beginning for a beautiful start to the weekend. Thank you, Peet's. I prefer this coffee to the other one -- starbucks...

Z A.

Yelp
I do love the coffee? Ambience and the outdoors. I just hate that they close soooo early!

John J.

Yelp
The coffee was good, I'll give them that, but I worry about the cleanliness of this location. The counter where you get sugar and cream was in bad shape and their restrooms were totally trashed. One of the restroom's toilets would not flush and when I reported it to an employee, he said that "that happens sometimes." Ah, that could be a health issue, maybe? Where would employees go? At least close that one down? Ah, probably won't be back.

Yelp
Peet's Coffee and Tea is a fantastic place to go and work your magic. Founded in 1966 in Berkeley, CA, Peet's is focused on a high quality of coffee. They then spread out to included tea and some food stuffs. Peet's is also responsible for the establishment of Starbucks in Seattle, WA. Peet's is focused on finding the best coffee available and have been slower to grow than Starbucks, but If you go out West, they are definitely there. They are in the DC, Virginia and Maryland area, including the shop closest to the White House.

Krystal L.

Yelp
I visited Peet's today to buy whole bean coffee. They advertise a complimentary small drip coffee or cup of tea with the purchase of a half/full pound of beans, a box of K-Cups, a box of espresso capsules, or a box of packaged tea for in-store purchases, as stated on their website. However, this morning, the staff member didn't mention the free beverage. Since it's the first time this has happened, and it wasn't a busy day, I'm wondering if he might be a new employee. I hope they are aware of this promotion and, moving forward, remember to offer it with qualifying purchases, making customers feel comfortable without having to ask.

AJ A.

Yelp
The selection of coffee and teas is great at this place. They have been around since 1966 in the west cost. Here in NOVA they are no more than 15 years old. The coffee is much better than Starbucks in my opinion. It is smooth and since they use the manual LA marzuca for espresso it makes it taste much better. The Pastry options are very good as well. UPDATE 7/14/2020 Oh my gosh, I have been a regular customer visiting this location 4 times a week. Today I had the worse experience in my life in a coffee shop with the extremely rude assistant manager Becka. I was hoping to have a nice start to a long day of work as I am a first responder, I ordered 2 drinks and noticed I was charged close to $14, for 1 large hot tea and 1 medium latte and had my mask on of course. Since I go regularly this price didn't make sense, so I told the cashier price seems a lil high can you please repeat my drinks and he thought I ordered 3. As I proceeded to explain myself I thought maybe my voice was coming muffled so I moved the mask between a plexy glass just a little so the cashier could hear and understand my order. All of a sudden, half way across the room, Becka screamed, PUT on YOUR MASK, practically screaming at me. She sees I'm in scrubs for work, I'm a first responder, I'm a loyal customer and I have never witnessed rude behavior and tone of voice in an establishment. After she screamed twice at me, I walked out of there. If you want to have great start of your day, do yourself a favor and steer clear from this place.

Yelp
Good stuff. The first time I ever tried Peet's Coffee was in the San Francisco International Airport. I enjoyed it then and I had the same experience here. Indoor seating is available and their restrooms are clean. Employees are friendly and quick. The cashier was really sweet and the barista prepared my iced vanilla latte perfectly. It was bold, yet smooth, and had a wonderful finish. Tasted great. I also tried their lemon bread, which was had lovely flavor but the consistency was off. It wasn't as soft as I would have liked.

Nina R.

Yelp
Sort of sad to see the Caribou Coffee go, however Peet's is right up there, possibly 1 step up from Caribou. Polite customer service. Sleek look, clean and well organized layout. Plenty of space to break out the laptop and get work done, or read a book. Cozy environment. I have only ordered coffee to go from here. Thus, I haven't had the chance to try out the food items on the menu. I will return.

Nomin D.

Yelp
Service was good and my drink came out quickly. It was not as sweet as it should be for a caramel macchiato at all. But it'll do. Staff was friendly.

Rutika K.

Yelp
Been going to this Peet's for years and the coffee is great but they seriously need to clean the bathroom! I walked in to the br the other day and not only was it dirty but the flush didn't even work :( otherwise good coffee and pleasant vibes

Ingrid K.

Yelp
Their Holiday Spice latte is delicious! All the tables were filled with patrons and work groups. Located across from REI.

Michael C.

Yelp
I just found this place today. I had heard of them, but I didn't know where one was. I popped in for a coffee only (medium roast drip). I saw the apple Danishes, and I thought why not? Amazing! Possibly the best I have ever had. It's located at Fairfax Corner near the Cinemark theater. So if you arrive early for your movie and need a great cup of coffee, stop in you won't be disappointed

Haj R.

Yelp
First time at this Peet's. Came in for an early morning coffee. Conveniently locared on Grand Common. Parking in front (1 hour) with lots of general parking around the shopping area. The place is clean with lots of seating inside and outside. Had an Americano which was excellent (strong as i like it). There is a wide variety of eats (muffins, coffe cake, danishes). The morning staff was very friendly and were very personable (thank you Mr. Haj...have a great morning Mr. Haj). With this type of service and fresh coffee/eats, I'll be sure to be back if in the area.

Cheryl A.

Yelp
Our go to place-have generally had a pleasant experience here and we go all the time (likely too much). I always feel like they let us take their time and I like bringing family here too. Employees seem considerate and attentive. I think it's better than Starbucks and the coffee tastes pretty good. I wish there drinks were a bit bigger for the price, but all is well!

Maddy L.

Yelp
Normally I go here and just get their iced black coffee, which is splendid by the way. It's much better than Peet's. However, this time I decided to try the Matcha tea here and little did I know that they add it with milk. Ugh, not a fan of it at all. I give them 4 stars because normally they're good and quick. Oh well, next time I know not to get matcha tea here.

Ang K.

Yelp
First time coming here and my vanilla latte was good. Not too sweet. Also got a breakfast flatbread with chicken and chorizo. Tasted better than the Starbucks breakfast sandwiches. The staff was nice.

Michele D.

Yelp
This morning it's about 30° with 20 mph winds. I walked two blocks with my dog to get Pete's coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Noting the no pets allowed sign next to the door I politely called outside the front window and asked Jonas if I could please place my order over the phone. He said no sorry I can't take it without your card and I cannot take your card over the phone. OK can you just start making it and you see me I'll come in and pay for it. No ma'am I can't start your order without a card. He then added I can order through the mobile app. Again he's looking at me through the window as I freeze my tits off. Screw you Jonas with no soul and Pete's coffee. You will never have my business.

Khan S.

Yelp
Nothing ever disappoints with Peet's but felt though the staff could smile more and little more Friendlier in this particular location.

Van T.

Yelp
Always a good place to go for a matcha latte with the option of sipping it from a cup.

Alex S.

Yelp
They make traditional Cappuccinos ! The 6oz ones Peet's knows how to roast coffee. Their beans are bold and robust. Peet's is by far my favorite coffee chain.

Matthew S.

Yelp
Pretty sure this has become my favorite chain coffee store in the region. Consistant batistas and flavors lend to a great ability to not think about my order. I struggle with a lot of variability in the quality of repeated orders at other coffee houses and this is a big plus for any shop I find. My family can find something unique or seasonal to fit everyone's tastes. The holiday season dark chocolate orange mocha was a real winner for the candy lovers.

Neda M.

Yelp
I update my review because I found their customer service after my bad experience wonderful, the manager, she kept in touch with and I received complimentary drinks coupons and a handwritten card which which shows how much they care.

Tabitha F.

Yelp
What can be said about a chain store? A lot! Good coffee with knowledgeable baristas, a good variety of coffees and teas, and a convenient location from a comfy cinema and a several great dining spots.

Lynn D.

Yelp
This is not very friendly and welcoming Peets. The lady cashier needs to be more pleasant. I sense an attitude with the cashiers. Most times the baristas are nice. It is more $$ than the Reston Peet's. And they only give you a small water glass vs a big one at other Peers. coffee is better than Starbucks sometimes you can't find a seat inside.

Shannon P.

Yelp
I was so happy to see Pete's replace the old coffee shop! I love coming here on my way home from school, I always get an iced latte to get me through the day! The staff is always super friendly and even the manager Cristine can be seen helping everyone out! I have noticed the staff knows a lot of the patrons by name, which I personally love! The latte art is a nice touch! Love this little cafe!

Seth W.

Yelp
Awesome service. Great coffee and great location. Super nice. I got the matcha latte with their new coconut milk! It was great! The chai latte with almond milk is an excellent choice. Peet's delivers what other coffee chains fail to do.

Hannah R.

Yelp
This is such a conveniently placed Peet's considering I live in fairfax corner! It's a great morning walk to Peet's to get coffee. It's a cozy environment, pretty small inside though. A lot of people go here to do work and hang out. There is outdoor seating on the side of the building. The coffee is always so fresh and haven't had a bad cup of coffee from here. I do wish there was more seating and a bigger area to hang out though. The only reason for 4 stars! Service is good and always nice when ordering too. Helpful when needed!

Michelle N.

Yelp
I used to visit Caribou Coffee here in Fairfax Corner occasionally, as it was a good place to get some work done and wasn't as crowded as Starbucks. I noticed recently that they were building Peet's Coffee in it's place, so I was delighted to finally check it out once it opened. This location is much more cleaner and brighter, making it look a lot more open than its predecessor. I could have imagined this, but it felt like there was a lot more seating area inside and out. This is always a perk since Fairfax Corner can get really busy, so it's good to know you can have a spot to meet a friend or get some work done. The staff was really friendly and the drinks were turned around quickly. I was pleased to have such good service considering they had just opened up. And major perk - they have almond milk! Perfect for those with dairy and soy allergies.

Verona S.

Yelp
I walked into Havana Cappuccino heaven when I met Derek at Peet's at Fairfax Corner. I didn't think walking in that there would be party in my mouth 5 minutes later. Best barista at Peet's, yet. My gorgeously statuesque friend had an iced white chocolate mocha that she immediately savored and stated, "It's never tasted this good before!" We both proclaimed, Derek was en pointe this evening. D, forgive me if I misspelled your name. You're not just a barista, but an artiste!

Lahasa t.

Yelp
Love, the mocha over ice, nice place cool staff.. We hung out there and used the wifi that's a big plus. The snacks are pretty good also.

C C.

Yelp
I got a chai tea. I didn't tip, mostly because I used a card. I usually like to tip a little. Anyway the tea was nothing but over foamed milk. The job isn't that complicated. If one time I don't put $.50 on the bill don't give me foam. I threw it full in the trash. So I suppose whomever dumps the trash gets to deal with all that foam. I told them I threw it out because it was all foam. I wasn't confrontational... They weren't sweating it.

Sandi F.

Yelp
So happy to move back to DC from CA and find a Peet's around the corner. The staff are amazing and very friendly. If you have not tried Peet's before, it is a must! Their espresso is great. Their dark roasts tend to be a little on the darker side but they do not taste burnt. Their Arabian Mocha Java is one of my favorites, full bodied and rich in flavor. If you are a tea person, their loose leaf teas are premium and they have a great selection. This location is definitely worth stopping into. Lots of seating too if you need to get away and work for a while. Love, love, love!

Anna Marie P.

Yelp
Great coffee; I have always enjoyed Peet's since I first met them in Sacramento. I had to switch totally to tea for a while, so I had a Green Tea Latte, Unsweetened, but my guy had a Fresh Press, which he said was excellent. I got a Berkeley Peet's Coffee Mug, here in DC, which made me smile because it brings back good memories! Always a solid choice!

Angie K.

Yelp
This is one of my fav places to come to study or find a quiet place. I can't say the coffee is great. It has a oily taste to it. But the tea and service here are amazing. Plus it's waaaay quieter than at Starbucks.

Sophia S.

Yelp
This is the best peet's location! They make the best drinks and every time I come by they are the nicest to customers! Totally recommend stopping by

Sam C.

Yelp
Wish I could give no stars. Worst coffee and staff is terrible. I've had coffee here over 10 times never had a good cup. Every late is terrible no matter what syrup is in it. If there was another coffee shop in Fairfax Corner they would do great because this place sucks!

AL K.

Yelp
First time here since they took over caribou's spot. Always a line, slow turn over on the tables since people stay to chat or surf the net. Best if you get it to go and enjoy your java somewhere else without people staring you down for a seat. I love the macha latte. The blended drinks are a must as well. They ran out of whipped cream when I had my blended drink. I should had asked for a discount!

Lisa Y.

Yelp
I used to LOVE Peets at this location. But recently I noticed the most of the employees have changed. And my favorite drink which is their cappuccino became worse than Starbucks. The manager who was friendly with my sister told us that all the experienced employees were sent to DC location. So the Fairfax Corner one ended up with all new employees. I can understand that it takes a few weeks to train new people. So I came back a month later, hoping that they finally got drinks right. Both sadly, the cappuccino was worse. I ordered extra dry one thinking given a room for an error, at worst I'll get regular cappuccino. What I got was a coffee that was heavier than latte because of so much milk. And during the process of making cappuccino, the employee (I refuse to call her the batista) somehow got rid of that nutty, caramel like flavor that only Peets' cappuccino has. And my sister's fruity iced tea was so sweet that she had to ask for a bigger cup and add more water. I hope Peets district manager or supervisor reads this review so he or she can quickly improve the skills of their employees here at this location. My family used to come here all the time but not anymore. I will probably try again sometime in the future, but not anytime soon. Let me know if the cappuccino finally tastes right. ;-)

Hawi B.

Yelp
This is was a nice location with friendly staff. PLENTY of seating but it was a bit chilly inside. They also have outdoor seating which I'm sure will be great in the summer :)

David F.

Yelp
The pastries are awesome, and so is the rest of the food. The hot chocolate as well is great. Overall, this place is better than Starbucks, 100%.

Annabella B.

Yelp
This is the best chain coffee shop I have ever been to! It beats Starbucks by a landslide. The interior is beautiful, and reminds me of an independent coffee shop. The barista recommended the black Thai iced coffee to me, and it literally changed my life. The Black Thai is the best coffee I have ever had, no exaggeration. I will definitely keep coming back here just to get it!

Eliza B.

Yelp
I don't usually review chains but this place was a really good Peet's location. I went there for 3 days in a row at 8 am each day while I was consulting for a client. Each day there was a line of about 6-8 people but it went really fast. I got a latte and scone each day (switch it up between regular latte and chai tea latte) and everything was good and consistent. They also heated up the scone properly, I have had other locations just nuke it and it gets hard after like 5 minutes when they do that. The bathrooms were also clean and there was enough empty space to stand out of the way while waiting.

Silvia V.

Yelp
The worst service there, they don't know about customer service! For sure I am not coming back and I will not recommended this location! My friends also agree, it was the worst experience there!
