"Vibrant red coffee truck Petite Rouge has transitioned to a brick-and-mortar establishment, now located at the former First Cup Cafe on Calhoun Street. The venue serves espresso, cold brew, chai, and iced teas, complemented by doughnuts from Blue Dot. Future plans include expanding the menu to incorporate sandwiches and salads. Petite Rouge also operates a smaller blue coffee truck on the road." - Tim Forster

Nice space but dirty as hell! Floors are always filthy, front door / back door always full of greasy finger prints, staff acts totally indifferent to customer presence. Also, the staff often look like they rolled right out of bed and came to work. What happened to showering or grooming before going to work, especially in the service food industry! This place could be so insanely great but instead it’s really mediocre. Coffee is really weak too. It used to be a lot better. People seemed to care in the past.

Google
Peets are the CLOSEST cafe's to HOW IT USED TO BE before the covd circus🤣 It's great that they let you choose how much oat milk or regular fat milk you want in your coffee. And what more could I ask for,... they actually still have HONEY! And just an added plus... their coffee is NOT THE NEW SOUR LIGHT ROASTS that they are trying to convince us are actually drinkable! Espresso coffee beans need to be roasted pretty much like what they do in Italy. If you roast them too light then they will remain sour....yuk! So Pete will always be my go to Cafe... Just like 20 years ago 💪

While I was waiting for a large order of 8 items a woman was at the counter. She was very rude to the staff while ordering and picking up (because of misunderstanding how the menu and substitutions work) and I was sad to see that. Staff was efficient, kind, and knowledgeable.

Google
Very good service Coffee and help. But today the latte temperature too low, also they charge "Surcharge Healthy SF" with 4% when a lot of restaurants or coffee shops don't charge anymore. I am Unsatisfied with this interaction. Within previous transactions I was never charged for such payment. ☕🍵🥐

their bathroom is worse than a gas station bathroom.urine all over the floor in front of the toilet. I turned around and walked out didn’t even use it

I do seasonal work around the neighborhood, and I always get a poorly made drink. I love Peet's Coffee elsewhere. I usually get a chocolate & caramel javiva swirl. It's basically a frappe. The issue is that there's usually something wrong with it at this establishment. My last and final time it was not properly blended. Right off the back I could tell it was off. I will attach some pictures so you can see it's more of an ice coffee with with crushed ice over a frappe. I would request a new one but I'm just over it. Previously when I have complained they get rude and loud. In my opinion, it's a way of making sure it seems like I'm just some poor brown person complaining (clientele is mainly affluent White people). I love Peet's Coffee, but I will never return to this particular establishment. It's just hopeless.

Google
Great customer service all the time!! Good quality drinks and pastry - Thank you!

L. So

Google
Rude staff, very young and unprofessional group seemed to not want to be there. I see why Starbucks is packed and Peet's has 2 people inside. The Peet's at West Portal is much better than this one

Joanna T.

Yelp
Tea time! Always nice to get matcha tea at Peets. They have non-dairy options! Relaxing at the end of the day!

Geordie E.

Yelp
I prefer local cafes, Peet's if there are no independent cafes. This location is good but service is under par and fulfillment takes longer than usual.

David G.

Yelp
When I lived in the neighborhood this was my go to expresso place. Still great coffee albeit in a somewhat depressing environment. Free parking in the back. Close to all kinds of shops.

Luke L.

Yelp
At least two or three times a week my fiancé, and I walk to this location from our house and it's the best part of our mornings... Even while writing this review she asked me if I wanted to do that. Always fast and friendly service and I must say the drink consistency is spot on. The staff here are well trained and knowledgeable baristas. You usually only get this sort of knowledge and experience from small mom and pop shops, but this Peet's is excellent. I wish a review could get them all a raise, because, they definitely deserve it!!

Jerry W.

Yelp
Fast service. Love the black tie cold brew. Sweet with a kick... great dessert drink. I drink the coffee my wife drinks the sweet condensed milk. Place is clean, but not many staff and no customers were wearing masks when I was in there.

Melinda H.

Yelp
Went to pick up an order from Susie cakes next door and wanted to grab a coffee before. I ordered the lavender cold brew oat milk latte from their seasonal menu and it was delicious! Cashier was friendly too. $7 for the large latte but that's pretty standard for lattes nowadays.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying that I go to the Fell street Peets every other day and I absolutely love the staff there. We know each other by name and they have the BEST customer service out of every Peets in the city . I decided to go to another PEETS today in laurel village because I was getting my tires changed around the corner . I sat down while my husband ordered drinks. I told him to use my phone number to check in and use my points. He came over to tell me that Adrienne couldn't use my points with my phone number and I needed to provide the barcode . After my husband checked in with my number I went up to the front to scan the barcode like she asked for and then paid. I asked my husband why she didn't he use my points for the order . I went up to Adrienne to ask about the order and why wasn't the points used. I'm not a mean or angry person. I didn't yell or gave an attitude ( yet). Adrienne told me she couldn't use my number for points. I told her I understood and that is why I came up to scan like she asked for. She quickly got a nasty attitude and told Brenden to deal with because she couldn't. ( As she flicked her hand toward me) Brenden was extremely patient and calm as he talked with me. He explained to me why my barcode couldn't be used for my points. I understood him but asked why then did Adrienne have me scan my barcode on my phone to use my points. A lot of back and forth respectful conversations between Brenden and I. After a minute or two I let it go. Anyway to make a long story short, If Adrienne cannot have good customer service and not get an attitude when talking to customers then she should not be in customer service . 4 star for Brenden and 0 stars for Adrienne.

Yelp
Big fan of Peet's. Caffeine for days, gets me going. I recommend the Iced Havana cappuccino if you're looking for something strong and sweet. Rich espresso with condensed milk in cold milk poured over ice, yum. I was here on a Saturday and the staff was super friendly, however I did see an employee pocket what was a $20 bill from a customer before she went to the bar to make the drinks. I managed to catch her name before leaving as it was printed on her name tag- "Tia". She was a younger staff member and I've been in this location a few times before heading to work on Saturday mornings and usually see this staff member at the bar. She makes great drinks, btw, so you can imagine how disappointing it was to see this behavior at my local Peet's. Despite this incident, I do recommend this location because I've had a wonderful experience with my orders each time!

Juan V.

Yelp
Great place to grab a drink and dessert. I enjoyed the outdoor space. Consistent for the Peets brand. A good neighborhood feel.

I M.

Yelp
I have never ready liked this Peet's location as it's very dark inside and after reading the health reviews like it even less. Lately I've tried not to frequent any Peet's because unlike their major competitor, Peet's as far as I have read is still doing business in Russia.

Karan L.

Yelp
Excellent service great folks and nice vibe. I didn't know what to order but the servers were really nice and even offered samples. Great place

C L.

Yelp
I've been to this Peet's at least 6 times in the last year and each time the coffee drinks are so bland. I normally get flat whites but because of the blandness I switched to a latte and again bland...but this time the drink was barely warm. It was so bad that I asked the barista to reheat it and she said she would just remake it. So one stars for not giving me attitude and one star for location.

Helen J.

Yelp
I wish I could give a higher rating. However, every time I order off the app, something is always wrong with my coffee and I have to ask for milk or a different size which defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. I get a large coffee with milk and somehow they misread the order and give me a medium coffee black every time. There's one friendly person who's works there, but when I have to go to the bar to ask them to fix my drink, it's always met with rudeness. Coffees good though.

Jennifer O.

Yelp
Echoing the majority of Yelpers, this Peet's does have a great staff. On a warm, sunny Sunday morning the barista was cranking out a lot of iced espressos and lattes and while less speedy than some other chain shops, the proof is in the taste: You can't rush a great cup of coffee. Metered parking out front of the Laurel Village shops and the large private lot in the rear.

Michelle S.

Yelp
This store has the best friendly service compared to the sloat location. Quick turn around with orders and parking is easy. Love looking at all the antique coffee items on the wall.

Paweena W.

Yelp
Rude employee, fist time here and will never return. As English is my second language but the lady should not be rude to me. Her expression face and voice kinda look down on me. Very disappointed.

John G.

Yelp
Located in Presidio Heights on California Street, this Peet's is conveniently situated near UCSF Medical Center. In the past, whenever I've decided to walk after work from downtown to my wife's work in this particular neighborhood, this Peet's would be one of my pit stops along the way. Walking is a great way of exercising; especially if you have a busy schedule. I'd start from Kearny and Market St. and take Geary until I arrive at Japantown and go up Fillmore to cross over to California from there. It takes me between 1 hour & 15 minutes average (give or take a few minutes) to reach her work depending on my pace. Reaching Peet's is like a landmark since I know I am close by, and I usually get a boost of energy....in a form of either a Javiva Coffee or a Cold Brew. What I also like about this location is they have a front entrance and a back entrance. They have a parking lot in the back, and most of the stores here have back entrances so it makes it convenient to go in and out of this place. If you happen to see someone you don't want to run into, you can get a quick getaway using the back entrance. Just like any Peet's location, they're consistent and that's good enough for me.

John U.

Yelp
Stale pastery, tea and lemonade drink was 90% ice, dirty, loud. Yuck! Last timr for me st Petes.

Lauren R.

Yelp
Did I buy Pete's out of their mighty leaf tea stock? No but I wanted to! I needed to leave some for the other customers. For those who are into tea, you know the mighty leaf satchets are great! They have loose leaf tea bundled into satchets with amazing flavors like chamomile citrus or jasmine. I picked up a couple boxes for home and a couple boxes for work. Loose leaf tea is better but tea bags are easier. Might leaf satchets are the beat of both worlds. Since J bought several boxes of tea they gavr me a free cup of tea or coffee of my choice as well. As far as the customized drinks and pete's I think they are on par with starbucks they are good but not exceptional. I don't really go for those style of drinks. But I am enamoring with the mighty leaf brand.

Manuchaher F.

Yelp
The staff are very rude and disrespectful especially the lady named Beel ? Who says she is in charge

Venus S.

Yelp
I always have a great experience at this location. The staff are friendly and know how to make all the drinks properly. Pro tip, go to Costco and buy $100 in Peets Giftcards for $79.99. Then enter them into the Peets app and order pickup or delivery and get $20 in free drinks! Plus every 15 drinks you buy, you get 1 free. Just a warning about the delivery, the drinks seem to be made when you order, but the delivery person does not pick them up for 20-40 minutes. Both times I ordered an iced drink, it came with 99% of the ice melted. So I stick to going there in person now.

Kathy B.

Yelp
Rude employee behind the counter-- suggest better training by manager in customer relations. You are not supposed to be surly to customers! That is a no-brainer.

Kate L.

Yelp
Generally I think Peet's is a solid 4 star second-wave coffee chain but the service I received here elevated this visit at this location to a 5. The two cashiers and barista were extremely polite, helpful, efficient, and patient as I figured out redeeming a reward on the app. My order was delicious, fast, and accurate. I left feeling warm and happy in my heart as well as my belly.

C S.

Yelp
Horrible, one the workers yelled at me because I was in the wrong line instead of redirecting me to the correct line politely! What kind of business is this that mistreat costumers!!!! Will never come back!!

Lefkos A.

Yelp
Coffee is good, it's Peet's coffee. But good luck trying to get any service. Staff running around, no eye contact ignoring the customer who has been standing at the bean counter for 10 minutes. When I asked to buy some beans person behind the counter said the bean line is "over there". There was no one at the bean line. It's called customer service. You make eye contact and say "can I help you" when you see a customer standing and staring straight at you!

Erik H.

Yelp
This is where I get my beans on a Sunday morning in the rainstorm after my gal who made the coffee the PREVIOUS morning and had me run a buttload of shopping errands for her said nothing about us being out of coffee!! Ok rant over!! So I jogged over to my Peet's in Laurel Village on a wet Sunday morning still half asleep. I love that the ATM for Wells Fargo is right there (especially when you weren't expecting to have to go out in the rain and had no money in your wallet). There was no line this morning because of the weather but when there is, the have a separate line for just beans where you have it ground to order. When you buy whole beans you also get a complimentary cup of coffee or tea. Not interested? Get a rain check card for the future. Of course I got a cup as my gal can get up and make her own coffee after making me schlep in the rain. Now let me address some other comments made here. Before there was Starbucks with fancy names like Baristas and their half-caf mochachinos, there was Peet's. Legend has it that the two founders were even partners but everyone tells a different story and I don't want to debate it here. Read about it on Wikipedia. Peet's is San Francisco when it comes to coffee like Double Rainbow and its-it is to ice cream and Boudin is to bread. True San Franciscans are snobs about those three things and will prefer them over the latest trends (Blue Bottle, Bi-Rite and Humphrey Slocumb) and commercial stores (Starbucks, Coldstone, and Haagen-dazs). Peet's and its employees do have an attitude. It is laid back but more polite in some ways and rude in others. As an old employee there once told me. Some people aren't awake yet, and the last thing they want is for me to be in their face with sunshine and smiles! Also if you want to sit down for 3 hours and have a cup of mediocre coffee and do your homework and rudely occupy the seating area, you can go to the other end of Laurel Village to the 24 hour Starbucks which resembles more of a University Student Union in traffic and noise. The two stores are a dichotomy and I'm told they are the two busiest for each chain in San Francisco (in fact some say this is the oldest store in the chain). They serve each clientele appropriately. Today was definitely a Peet's morning. I said less than 10 words, got my pound if coffee and free cup as well and was out in a few minutes and back reading my soggy Sunday paper in front of the fireplace. My girl of course comes down and wonders why I didn't make her coffee already and upon seeing that I'm wet and already have a Peet's cup in my hand then asks if I got her a scone or ordered her a latte! Grrrrrr.

Rach S.

Yelp
Friendly staff and nice location. It was about a 5 minute walk from our hotel. We ordered online and picked up our order. When we got there our chocolate croissant was out so they were able to switch to something else we liked or get a refund.

David S.

Yelp
Overpriced. 2.70 for a "medium" regular coffee which is actually still pretty small in size. I don't think it's affordable to drink this all the time. The coffee tastes like regular coffee, not bad but not really premium either, but they charge a premium price. Why?

Kae D.

Yelp
My old neighborhood haunt- free parking - consistently good staff and the best Coffee...I order a medium - dark roast - room for cream - divine. Peet's is the best!

Mike L.

Yelp
Not a bad spot to take in a book or to do some light studying here. The workers are generally friendly, and the baristas make the drinks decently well. Quaint location in Laurel Heights though it can seem to get a bit too yuppy, but that comes with the territory so it's not to be unexpected. Not an overwhelming amount of seats/tables since it's pretty narrow, but I haven't had a problem during the handful of times I've been here. Certainly a lot less crowded than the Starbucks on the other side of the complex, but they have the advantage of being open late. Plenty of parking in the back lot, as well as the street parking on California Plus a half star for 2 hours of free wi-fi with a purchase, which is different than seemingly most local coffee shops where you still have to pay for it separately.

Mia C.

Yelp
We dropped in here to grab a quick breakfast beverage/snack before an errand. My mocha blended javiva was good, but they didn't have a good selection of savory items. The staff members were very friendly which was the best thing about this place. Wait time was decent for SF standards. Main reason for 2 stars is their horrible shared men/women bathroom which was in bad shape and unapproachable.

AlexÁndrea M.

Yelp
Quick, delicious, and courteous baristas... can't ask for anything more ... well actually more seating ... but truly it's a quaint little spot not setup for a long stay but still welcoming...

Jess C.

Yelp
I come here all the time to work, there are several tables but the design of this Peet's is so narrow you have to side shuffle to place your order, pick it up, get milk etc etc. Overall, I like the amount of tables, the free (2 hour limit, pretty strictly enforced) parking in back, and the conveniently located Noah's Bagel's nearby. It's a decent place to get some work done on your laptop and ofcourse, far superior to Starbucks even with their fancy shmancy Clover machine.

Shirley N.

Yelp
Located in Laurel Village. Convenient parking lot in the back with a back door entrance too. Great coffee. Great location.

Matt V.

Yelp
great crew here! Quick friendly service Thanks!

Liz N.

Yelp
I'm a Peet's fan what can I say? Great strong coffee Lattes are also strong not too milky Line can be long in the morning but moves moderately quick. Pro tip: use their free lot in the back! Why do ppl pay for parking in front when it's free in the back?

Sebastian F.

Yelp
The standard patrons here ... I mean, Peet's patrons. A little on the older side - and there's nothing wrong with it - I'm getting there myself! I can see already that in 50 years from now I'll be rolling my wheelchair at 6 in the morning into the neighborhood Peets, will take my usual corner spot near the window, slurp my coffee through my remaining teeth (it'll produce a weird, smacking noise) and stick my big nose into the last remaining newspaper on Earth, the New York Times, which the counter sells for $4.50.

Kudrat K.

Yelp
The short female in the front after repeating myself two times, still messed up my order. She seems like arrogant. I am sorry I always have good experience with other Peet's locations. I hope she understands

Bree B.

Yelp
Peet's Coffee is a great neighborhood coffee shop. The service here is usually top-notch. Staff is friendly, will be sure you get your drink exactly as you want it. The environment is warm and welcoming. Love the bar stools and counters set up at the window and the two benches out front. People many times bring their dogs and sit out front. Neighbors meet one another. Coffee is consistently excellent. One Tip. You'll automatically get dark roast unless you ask for medium roast. Often I ask if they have medium roast brewing and usually they have to make it. That works for me since I get the first fresh cup from the batch which takes only 80 seconds to make. Free parking in the back with a back door entrance.

Rey M.

Yelp
I really appreciated a reminder today what great customer service looks like after departing in disappointment experiencing so much difficulty I was having to be comfortable while taking a seat for a moment to enjoy my coffee from the Starbucks on the other end of the Laurel Village shopping block. Each member of the staff who assisted me gave me a very personable response (from how I was greeted when I first entered, to their suggestions of what they offer, to how the person who made my drink made eye contact and said thank you sincerely, to a friendly reminder by who seemed was the manager who said to me how much longer the store was going to stay open today on a holiday). I could not be more appreciative of enjoying my beverage at this store. The difference in ambience could not be more vast. Recommending patronizing this store instead of Starbucks next time you're looking for coffee in Laurel Village. You won't be disappointed.

Julio B.

Yelp
I used to frequent this place from 2013-2015, when I was walking dogs twice a night. The (female)baristas are really nice, and the place was great for hanging out after work. Unfortunately, I'd always pay for what I ordered and left. Sometimes in life you have to keep on moving until satisfied.

Kevin T.

Yelp
The service is amazing . There was a problem in the back so the cashier had to leave for a couple minutes, ended up giving me a free drink for the wait . I love the rich accent of wood in their building. The ambiance is active and social without being loud. Most customers are active runners or going to work , which adds to the energy of the store.

Al L.

Yelp
After a concert at Sharon Meadow in GG Park, we were looking for a place to get some coffee. We decided to head over to the Peet's in Laurel Village. Parking was easy in the large free parking lot in back of the shopping center. This Peet's is deep and narrow with entrances on California St and from the parking lot. We were able to get our coffees and park ourselves in the one of the tables in the front. Fast and friendly baristas and $1 for refills when enjoying your dark, bold coffee on premises. Great Peet's location for your coffee needs.

Evita Z.

Yelp
This Peet's is the most welcoming coffee shop I have been to in a while! The cashiers were extremely friendly and the barista went out of her way to make sure my drink was how I wanted it! I've never posted a review on yelp before but want to make sure they get the credit they deserve!

Foo B.

Yelp
Coffee was good. Came here Tuesday night (09.19) while.they were closing. Lost my green and black zipper wallet here. Checked un Wednesday but they said nothing turned in. Mgr was very nice. I will.give a reward, just want my stuff back. Will check is there is video capture, maybe someone found it. If you find it, please.send back to me. Reward.

David D.

Yelp
We dropped in at Peet's in Laurel Village on Saturday. The line was long, but it moved fast. We sat in the window ... Margaret commented on a beautiful baby in a stroller on the sidewalk outside the window, and it woke up long enough to look at her. Are humans telepathic? I tried the gingerbread nonfat latte. Sweet!

Lauren S.

Yelp
There's more space now! There's a barista here who makes me feel awkward and our exchanges are always awkward. Burned my mouth from the coffee. Pure love.

Jason R.

Yelp
I have a lot of love for this Peet's. I probably go there 4 mornings a week and most of the folks working there know not only my drink, but the two or three different ways I order. At first I was like, "are these people judging me?" but then I realized they just have a cool efficiency about them, which I really admire. A nice staff all the way around, and believe me, the local clientle is a handful, I'm sure. No way could the staff at that Petuluma Peet's (http://www.yelp.com/biz/IAS8bJ_IDezC7idHaheCzA#hrid:xGapTAlLbHDf4HMEbMMcfg) serve this location. Katherine, Loan, Joel, Susan and the rest of you: You guys rock!

Ted R.

Yelp
Doctors, nurses, social X-rays, stroller pushers, wired seniors, baby boomers, baby deliverers, and me, all here to get our coffee fix on. And sometimes i'm not even the only black person here...or should I say coffee-colored?
