Google
Really cool little coffee shop right next to the capital. Very clean and friendly staff. They’ve also got a nice selection of treats so if you’re looking to hang out and do some work or just swing by and grab a quick bite, this is your place. The cold brew is quite delicious too.

If you want to try something different and you like your coffee sweet and creamy, you should try Horchata Cold Brew Oat Latte. The Cashier (didn't have name tag; dark brown hair in pony tail) provided great service. Was my first time trying Peet Coffee and she was patiently explaining the different drinks they had to offer and gave some recommendations based on my taste. She also recommended the Black Tie Cold Brew drinks.

I was so excited to try Peet’s since they do not have shops in FL. I mainly wanted to try the Vegan breakfast sandwich, it was PERFECTION! The vegan scone was also the best I’ve ever had. Very impressed with their vegan options. The horchata cold brew was not a fave. Iced matcha was made perfectly. Employees were very nice. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
No Friendly No Kindly, Even you need to wash the hands “Bathroom is for customers only”, staff said. One of the staffs asked me about the receipt to use the bathroom even I just need to wash my hands. So, I recommend you guys should cross the street to Starbucks or go to McDonalds where near by. They are very welcome everyone. From now on, No more “Peet’s Coffee”. It’s bed experience for me. If she see this review, please come to my workplace as the restaurant. I will offer you all bathroom and learn how to treat the customers

Google
Great coffee shop and food items. Only complaint is every time I go there in the morning, they are already sold out of the vegan breakfast sandwiches. Hopefully they realize how popular the vegan breakfast sandwich is and start to add more each day. It really is the best coffee shop around the WH.

Google
We got a medium Havana Cappuccino. Coffee taste really good! Really nice place and cozy atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Google
The worst customer service. You won't feel welcome. After ordering +$50 the cashier will still look at you and make an upset face when you ask for the restroom code. Come here if you want an average café and be served by a rude cashier. Monday December 30 14:15 pm 2024

Yelp
Washington DC A New Yorker is rating this location. If you're visiting the White House, this cafe is the best location to stop by. It's one min away. There are plenty of seats outside and inside. You won't miss the seats at all. Before you buy, I'd suggest you to get an app. You don't have to be on line at all. 3 kinds of milks were set up already at the counter (across from the bathroom) napkins and falls and knives if you need. Waters are eat the barista area. Store friendly, and some historical pictures are hanging up on the wall. Great place to rest. They have vegan options. I've attached some pictures I hope it'll help.

Sanchit K.

Yelp
Very cool coffee shop located close to The White House! The interiors are really amazing giving you a chill vibe and it's a pretty happening place with lots of people walking in to have a coffee. I ended up here charging my phone and the staff was really friendly enough to let me know where the charging port is! While waiting for it, I ordered mocha frappe. Well.. this was the first time I've had a mocha frappe outside Starbucks and must say it simply blew up my mind. The coffee seemed to be layered with the dark chocolate milk at the bottom, latte in the middle and whipped cream at the top. Overall, it was 5/5. I better hope the POTUS is aware of this place and gets his coffee well.. atleast frappe from these people!

Yelp
Nothing hits the spot like a nice, hot cup of coffee on a cold morning after a scenic stroll. Food: We ordered a large cup of the Ethiopian blend which was the dark roast option. There were only three options (dark, medium, and decaf) and I wished there were more. The coffee was definitely bold and was a good jumpstart to the rest of our day after we were tiring from our long, cold walk. Service: We were quickly served and accommodated by the barista. Ambiance: Lots of natural light and nicely decorated. Some people were quietly studying. Others were socializing and catching up but it was overall a quiet location on a Sunday morning.

Yelp
I stopped by this Peet's for a break before a museum when I was in DC a few weeks ago. A pretty nice Peet's, and I enjoyed their outside seating since the weather was nice. Not a bad place for a quick snack, coffee, break near a lot of touristy things in DC. Good, fast service, too.

Sean G.

Yelp
Peet's! If your a fan your a fan! Place was good have the typical stuff good location near some historical stuff but what's not historical in DC had some good areas to sit and to enjoy your cup of joe

Holly O.

Yelp
Simply the best coffee around, whether consumed in store or shipped home. The coffee will be fresh and perfectly roasted. Many interesting varieties to try. Food and service in store have always been excellent, too. The ambience is upbeat and pleasant.

John C.

Yelp
Always good coffee and this location has a great barista when I visited. Fast service and nice options. The sandwich shop next door does not have coffee but they say "you can go to Peet's next door"

Alain Serge Y.

Yelp
Great environment for coffee and meetings, I go there to get away from the office. Customer service is still in the work but be assured they will make you feel special. This is the only place where condensed milk is offered as condiments for your red-eye coffee. Give it a shot, you might love it as I do

Leah S.

Yelp
Great location, friendly staff, fun environment, and one amazing pumpkin cold brew oat latte

Alexandra K.

Yelp
I haven't been to too many Peet's locations, but this was a good one, clean, roomy, outdoor seating, good service. My partner was a fan of the iced cold brew, he said it was smoother than the ones from Starbucks. I definitely don't recommend the iced matcha oat milk latte with brown sugar jelly though. Just too, too much. I wanted an indulgence and got more than I was ready for. I was thinking the jelly would be similar to boba in bubble tea, but it was more like soaked raisins. Oh well, curiosity satisfied, now I know better.

Mike V.

Yelp
It was jam packed in Pete's coffee in D.C. but we managed to find a place to sit and rest our feet from all the walking we did in the city. And really enjoyed our treats here

Karla C.

Yelp
Needed a bathroom break so we stopped by and ordered a drink in the meantime. Coffee was pretty standard, nothing out of this world but staff was super nice, the place was clean and pretty with a super chill vibe right in the center of it All.

Christopher K.

Yelp
Super friendly and great place to get some work done. Parking on street is most time available.

Kate M.

Yelp
I love the almond milk hot lattes with three shots of expresso. It was exactly what I needed on cold days hiking to see the cherry blossoms. The morning glory muffins are vegan and they now have a vegan breakfast sandwich, both are good. Having a delicious hot latte to dink as I hiked to the cherry blossoms in a very cold wind made all the difference. it got me through. The one usual thing that happened here was someone apparently walked up and took my latte, walking away with it. I had to have another made.

Big Apple B.

Yelp
Great place, very clean and nice people. The was just the way I wanted and the price is also very reasonable. They have many options for the hot and cold foods, just give them a try and I'm sure you'll not regret it

Rick R.

Yelp
Coffee's usually decent, but I've been to this location twice now and the only thing worse than their drip coffee is the female cashier's demeanor toward everyone in line

John C.

Yelp
We were on our way to see the White House and ran into Peet's Coffee. We decided to grab a snack and some coffee to continue on our adventure. We got some coffees that were very good and we also got a very tasty croissant. We sat near the window and were able to see the street and the security posted near the White House which was pretty cool. The Barista was really nice and extremely helpful with out order.

Renata P.

Yelp
Moving out from California I was SSSSSOOOO happy to discover Peets had extended out to the DC area in advance of me. The coffee is wonderful. Highly recommend order ahead in the Peets app and picking up the gift cards from Costco online. Thanks for coming out here Peets. Happy this time back on the east coast isn't like the last where my only option is Dunkin.

Sepideh Z.

Yelp
Great location. Great service. Clean restrooms. Good coffee and pastries. Honestly, I can't really complain. It was a good experience, overall. We stopped by on the way to Lafayette Square on a Saturday morning so it was pretty crowded, which was expected.

Bob R.

Yelp
Excellent service and terrific people. Go there all the time in Sonoma. I would like Peet's Rewards to be easier like they were.

Camden B.

Yelp
The lady was super rude. She had a line of about 5 people and got overwhelmed and shoved everybody out and locked the door. Don't recommend. Do not spend your money here. I don't even leave reviews but I had to leave this one. I can't believe I just witnessed that. She was so rude and hateful to everyone.. It is very rare to get me upset because I'm a very chill person but wow, I just can't believe she was hired there.

Rudy X.

Yelp
I'm thankful for an alternative to Starbucks, which I hate. Peet's is GOOD coffee, meaning full-bodied, flavorful, and a great nose. I like a latte, not too sweet, but bracing. This place fills the bill. I hope Peet's replaces Starbucks as a national chain, it's so much better. Good, smooth coffee.

Chris A.

Yelp
My daughter and I dropped in for a bubble tea, stood in front of a register and looked at the menu, there was no one else in line, the staff member walks to the other register and says ' xcuss me, down here' in quite a condescending tone. She could have easily said ' Over here please' or something like that, especially since we were 4 feet away. We should have left, but it was hot after a long day of walking. The tea was mediocre at best, but the service left a bad taste. I let my daughter know that if the staff is rude, you can always let them know nicely and leave.

Yelp
Usually very friendly. Morning crew is excellent. Today, March 3 at 2:45pm I was double charged for a cup of coffee. That's fine. Mistakes are made. What I don't understand is, why can't you admit your fault. Give me a refund and move on? Instead the "manager" comes out, doesn't believe me. So I'm forced to produce "proof". So I do (with my app history). It's clear. Double charged. No words are exchanged as she tries to transfer the refund back to my app. She can't figure it out. So she gives me bills and change. So annoying. No parting apologies for making me wait. No apologies for handing me all that change. No apologies for making the mistake in the first place. So I asked for an apology and they looked at me like I was crazy. The original worker who made the the mistake finally apologized. That's the honorable thing to do. Manager still looking at me like I'm crazy. She has zero sense of honor or accountability.

Nicholas S.

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee shops! The staff is all super friendly and fun. Service is prompt, even when it gets very busy. They do a great job communicating with tourists who may not speak English very well and try to make sure everyone gets exactly what they want. If you want to modify a drink they are ready to accomodate. Drink quality is superb. Good indoor and outdoor seating and great location right next to the white house!

Baeriswyl J.

Yelp
Excellent almond and chocolate croissants. Very good bacon & cheese sandwiches. Nice and gentle personal.

Aubriana G.

Yelp
Pretty good even if you dont like coffee. I recommend Berry Hibiscus tea! It honestly tasteslike Starbucks.

Loro I.

Yelp
Tall African American guy very rude, coffee was cold and when asked to make it again the short guy rolled his eyes. Bad bad experience

Amanda L.

Yelp
This Peet's is very nice and conveniently located near the White House if you're walking around looking for some "go go juice". They work fast and you won't have too long of the wait. Plus we love their chocolate croissants and they have a large amount of outdoor and indoor seating. It makes for a quick coffee break with a nice view of the hustle of DC. If you're in the area and need a quick fix, this is definitely a great place to keep up the Peet's brand.

Iman T.

Yelp
if i ever want coffee this is the first place i think of! not only are the aesthetics of the shop itself beautiful, but the coffee is amazing. i'm convinced you can't find anything bad on the menu! if you like a sweeter but strong coffee i recommend the black tie (it is my absolute favorite coffee). i've been to a couple locations and everytime i go the baristas and location is great!

Norry H.

Yelp
I made my first visit today at 6am and became one of the first 25 customers to receive 1. A Special edition tumbler 2. Peet's $25 gift card. I welcome Peet's to this side of the U.S. It's very refreshing. From my experience today, I could sense a classier customer service than their biggest competitor. The coffee I had first was the dark roast and I actually liked it more than Starbucks. The almond croissant was pretty good too!

Haj R.

Yelp
The service is great in the mornings. Good selection of muffins and breakfast treats. I come here for an Americano. Very clean sitting area. Only a few steps away from the White House. If you need to get your coffee on and you are near Pennsylvania and 17th Street NW, Washington, DC, this is your place.

Alexander T.

Yelp
I was afraid to come here. I was afraid that the neverending onslaught of tourists and commuters constantly swarming around this location just steps from the White House and Renwick would make the lines long and arduous, the waits painful and lengthy, and my coffee orders inconsistent and sloppy. I was wrong. Props to the rock star staff here who every day brightened my mornings with friendly and prompt service, as well as delicious coconut creme lattes. Keep it up! Fun fact: stop by here enough and you'll run into your share of secret service agents, executive branch staff, and even some dignitaries. But just like for them, they'll remember your regular order just the same.

Matthew H.

Yelp
Peet's has awesome pumpkin latte, though everything on the menu is overpriced I'd say. Or, maybe that is just the world we live in where a drink costs over $4 (for a small, nonetheless). The staff here is very friendly and willing to help you choose from their extensive drink menu. Located conveniently near the Mall, White House, and Georgetown, I bet this place gets jam packed. I'd come back here.

Jessica G.

Yelp
Peet's coffee is my favorite coffee ever. We don't have them in Buffalo but whenever I travel I ensure i go to one. This location had awesome baristas and they made a killer latte! My son ate a scrumptious muffin and we were both happy as little clams.

Mario E.

Yelp
Horrible employees have attitude towards their customers. I had my daughter come in because she needed the restroom for an emergency and they denied her and force me to buy something in order to get code to use the restroom. What kind of people force u to buy just to use a restroom. Have some decency and help when someone has an emergency! Bad Business. Code is 1258 tho if u need the restroom. Tho they might change it later.

Sonia R.

Yelp
Love this place friendly people delish food. Never a disappointment! Thank you Peet's team!

Jeanna P.

Yelp
The coffee at Peet's is very smooth! It does not have a bitter after taste. I wish we had PEETS coffee back home.

Chhaya N.

Yelp
If you're cold and need coffee after visiting Renwick, come here for a cup and a good atmosphere. Perfect for working and meeting friends. Plenty of seating. Also if you check in you get a discount :)

Maria M.

Yelp
Peet's Coffee recently took over 1701 Penn - Caribou Coffee's old store. It's a great location, steps away from my work, and I am happy to say that I will return after my first experience during today's opening. The service was quick, friendly, and seamless this morning as their crowd of newcomers lined up for a morning cup o' Joe. The store setup is very similar to Caribou's, with a communal table in the center of the room and smaller tables surrounding it. The decor is more modern and simple - no more comfy sofas, but rather wooden chairs and tables. The coffee selection is somewhat limited, but it rotates on a daily basis. They have different coffees for each type of roast (light, medium, dark) as well as their house blend. Good options for teas, non-coffee drinks, and iced/hot drinks. I was very pleased with the service - they were very chipper and organized, which is refreshing when I think about the numerous crazy Starbuck's experiences I've had. They are also doing a $1 off deal when you buy a drink - the deal is valid from 1pm to close. Good way to build a custoemr base!

Tawana G.

Yelp
Great coffee and awesome service! Chicken Chorizo Flatbread is delicious! They have mobile order ahead so I don't have to wait in a long line. With the app after your first purchase you get a free drink of your choice. Countless rewards. Love them

Neal E.

Yelp
Visited for an afternoon double shot espresso machiatto with Half & Half - Dry. Drink was perfectly made and hit the spot! And got the brain cells firing!

Depeka S.

Yelp
My favorite coffee spot by far! Even the simple iced coffee with a splash of milk is soooo good :)

Abigail K.

Yelp
Not my favorite iced coffee, but it gets the job done. Little more expensive than Starbucks. $3.91 for a medium iced coffee with coco milk. Non-dairy options are soy milk, almond milk, and coconut milk. Lots of outlets and it's a good vibe for getting work done, not too loud and they play relaxing music. Lots of natural light.

C K.

Yelp
PSA: I was professionally pickpocketed at this location in mid-July 2017. Someone reached in my large and closed purse, pulled out my wallet, removed the credit cards, left my metrocard and ID and put the wallet back. Skillz. There is a security camera facing where I was sitting. At first the manager seemed very responsive in regards to getting footage. Yet, three weeks later, I've gotten the following excuses: 1) that she doesn't know how to replay back the tape 2) that her IT person is "afraid" to roll back the tape in fear of deleting the footage and 3) that the district level was able to access the tape but that "the light from the windows made the image blurry" Doesn't this seem like a lot of BS? The conspiracy side of me thinks those cameras don't work, or hell, that they are working with this professional ring and getting a cut. Aren't they concerned that their customers are being targeted? The pickpockets used all of my cards at a Target in Maryland, and luckily all were caught by my banks immediately. Lessons learned: 1- keep a card at home 2- keep your purse tight 3- don't trust corporate America to be on your side. I mean what are these excuses?! Enjoy your trip to DC but be careful around the White House!

Valencia W.

Yelp
I love Peet's coffee and cappuccino. Based off of all the Peet's I've been to this is a good standard and my experience was great.

William K.

Yelp
I've heard of Peet's Coffee before and I'm glad that my first experience was in the Washington DC location. The employees were very friendly and the location had a great atmosphere to study or have a nice conversation in. Whenever I go to a coffeeshop, I always order a cold brew and the Baridi Blend Iced Cold Brew was very good with a strong taste! Just how I like my coffee!

Jim W.

Yelp
I had to come to downtown DC for a short visit and spotted this little coifed shop. I hadn't had breakfast and needed coffee so I stopped by around 10 am. It was crowded. The staff was friendly and the clientele were business types. It's located close to the White House. I got a medium cafe mocha with a egg, ham, n cheese half sandwich. Very tasty! The service was excellent n quick. The coffee was made perfect and so was the sandwich. The total bill was $9.96.

AmanS G.

Yelp
Got to try Peet's Coffee finally today and really liked it.Went with family and tried the cappuccino and tea latte.Tea latte was especially very nice with just the right amount of sugar/syrup,so that you can actually savor the taste of tea.Staff was friendly, quick service and not too crowded either being a thur evening. Will definitely visit again to try something new.
