Peet's Coffee is taking over the DC market with yet another store opening, this one in SE DC in Navy Yard. It's literally right next store to the Navy Yard Metro (the non-stadium entrance). Here's what to love:
1) Space: A coffee shop by the metro is always convenient. What's also nice is ample space to sit, enjoy a cup, and get some work done. This location has six smallish tables outside, a long table that seats eight inside as well as five small tables with outlets, three window seats, and three bar seats inside.
2) Wifi: It's free. It's strong. It's perfect. With most of the tables inside coming with outlets, it's a great spot to crank out work for the day.
3) Coffee and food: The coffee is closer to Starbucks so it's sweeter than coffee at independent coffee shops. It's still good and I recommend the white chocolate mocha with whipped cream on top. The food is mass produced, but still decent, especially the warm chocolate chip and pecan muffin.
If you live in SE DC and need a place to work, Peet's is a great option!
