"Peking Restaurant, a North Park Cantonese restaurant managed by the Fong family, reached a milestone of nearly 90 years before closing in 2019. Despite initial interest in the property, it remains vacant. The facade, featuring a neon-lit sign displaying its original name, Pekin Cafe, and famous for its chop suey, cannot be removed due to its historic status. The family hopes it continues as a restaurant, possibly a large-scale Chinese spot or Asian food hall, but is open to other business types." - Candice Woo

This was a great find! The service was outstanding very friendly and super fast!! I ordered the peking dinner and got sooo much food! Enough for three meals. I recommend getting this! The egg drop soup was sweet and tasty, the egg roll was smaller and a little greasy but still good. Their wontons are not real wontons they're chips. The pork chow mein was delicious and came also with fried rice and egg fu young. My boy friend likes their crispy beef says its the best in town, the sauce was really good!

I come to SD every year and always love trying new restaurants. This has definitely been a top 5 for me. The service here is absolutely great. The women greet you and seat you fairly quick. The food was aaaammmmmaaazzzing! I got the beef and broccoli entree and it was heavenly. Definitely a 5 star from me.

This is my favorite Cantonese restaurant, I love it! The food is made to order and served piping hot. It has a homemade quality that's the best. Mom, the proprietor, is the best server. She treats you, as though she really is your own mother. If you're about good home cooking, you can't go wrong here. This place is the best.....

So sad to see this San Diego staple close its doors! Thank you for all the take out meals and birthday celebrations! Our family has been coming to you for years and there will never be a good substitution. The almond chicken chow mein will live on in my heart!

great authentic Chinese food and atmosphere. I really like the orange chicken and the house special chicken chow main with crispy noodles. Maria is the best server! There are not many Chinese restaurants like this left anymore. The parking is hard to find because of the theater and the trendy North Park area. Enjoy your meal there or take out!

My family has been going here since e it opened. It's my favorite restaurant in the world. Me and my sister flew out to SD from Illinois just to come eat at it one last time before it closes. I'm going to miss it so much. Best egg drop/flower soup ever, their vegetable fried rice is my favorite rice ever.
