Mom and pop place with some good comfort foods Hot N sour soup - Very good flavor. Dumplings - good Wasabi cold noodles- great flavor Eggplants- yummy but greasy Tan tan noodles - very good Service is slow. Maybe because of CNY eve. Our food took awhile to come out. The lady at the counter did apologize and said they are busy with too many to go orders. We also ordered beers but it never came. We asked the waiter and the lady at the counter multiple times. They acknowledged but forgot as soon as they walked away from our table. It took about 5 friendly reminders before we got to enjoy our beers. The complimentary sesame dumplings desserts were surprisingly good.

Google
TLDR: solid food at slightly higher prices, decor needs a bit fixing up We got our sweet and sour pork rice plate to go and the total came out to $15.40 which is a bit expensive. They included a sweet and sour soup which was nice. The pork was crispy and the sauce a bit sweet but good. Weirdly I wanted more rice as there was sufficient meat and veg. The interior needs some work with very dirty carpets but there were a bunch of flowers around which brightened it up a bit

Authentic Chinese food. Southeastern style although its name is Peking Restaurant. Service is super good! Worth every penny you paid.

Read about this restaurant in a SF gate article. I am a very recent customer and have been 4 times now. The service is great! The food is delicious! We live nearly 50 miles away but the meal is always worth the drive. Love the mushu and the crab & asparagus soup. Yes the restaurant hasn't changed its decor since it opened some 50 years ago. My favorite Chinese restaurant period.

Went here for lunch. The place is quaint, unassuming, and if it weren't for the awning and sign above it, it'd be easy to miss. The menu is huge with a big selection of quite interesting dishes based on different meats: beef, lamb, pork, fish and other seafood, as well as vegetarian options. Service was good with complimentary hot tea. Had the mango beef as well as some dumplings and pot stickers; the appetizers were good, and the mango beef was excellent. I went here around noon, but the place was nearly empty with only one other table being occupied. Good variety of condiments at the table as well: salt, garlic powder, vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil; however, the jars were all quite sticky to the touch and this sticks to your fingers.

We were there last night (Saturday July 13) for dinner. Arrived at about 6:45 pm. We had been there a few times before and knew that the food is just okay. During the course of our being there only one other party arrived, so the place had only two occupied tables—ours and the other party’s (a couple). Our complaint is that our food took inexcusably loooong to arrive, and the other party had some of their dishes served to them (we had been seated BEFORE them) before ours were brought to us. No explanation or apology for the long wait. Plus, during our visit before last night’s, as I was walking to the restroom, I saw the cook smoking a cigarette, which was dangling over the wok he was stir frying food in: his ash was poised to fall in! Probably won’t be back.

Google
Just Fantastic. I loved the rice and noodles.

Google
I was satisfied with the sweet n sour chicken and chicken fried rice.

Yelp
called in and ordered delivery for a large group. everything was delicious, good portions, and reasonable. our go to chinese option going forward. delivery was fast and friendly.

Yelp
Walk through these doors into 1975. Furniture and menu intact. Skip the sesame bread, but other things are fine. Family place. A good place to sit for long chat with friends or family, drinking tea and ordering another dish.

Yelp
This is our go-to take out place. They make dishes that most other restaurants do not and today's order is not a reflection of that. Quality/Quantity - Today we got the following for the Lunar New Year potluck we were attending: Walnut Prawns $18.95 - Always a hit, and first item to be eaten at our potlucks. Beef Simmered in Five Chinese Spices $14.95 - I actually liked this, but no one else ate it... Marinated Jellyfish $15.95 - Good, always consistent. Beef Chow fun $15.95 - Just okay. Surprised that so few people ate this dish, including my daughter as that is her go to item. We also picked up a whole fish, but another guest at the potluck ordered and paid. We offered to pick up since we were going there anyway. Atmosphere - Small local restaurant. Metered street parking, good luck. Easy for us as we do pick up. One person waits in the car and the other runs in and picks up. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 8pm. Service - Good. It helps that we are regular customers. Price - $72. Also a 25¢ charge for each to-go container and bag, see picture. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success for 40+ years! We have been customers for a long time.

Yelp
I used to come here a lot as it's close to my house and the lady here is super nice. One night I ordered Mongolian beef to go. When I got home I saw that was half onion (both yellow and green) and the meat had that weird mouthfeel when left in a baking soda bath for too long. The kicker is, when I home and dumped it onto a plate so I could get rid of half the onions I noticed about 1 cm of the bottom was filled with what looked like old, chopped up noodles...as if to fool me with some sort of filler! Seriously cheesy move there... Won't be going back.

Yelp
+ Authentic Shanghainese and Szechuan cuisines, even though the name of the temple restaurant is Peking. If you like Shanghainese or Szechuan food, you won't be disappointed. + Attentive service + Free Chinese dessert after dinner + They have been in business for 40+ years. It's a San Francisco legacy. + No wait on a Sunday night. We got seated right away. Lots of tables for seating. + No frill. But nice and clean. Great for family dinner.

Yelp
I only came here for the hot and sour soup. Ordered a size M container to go, which was enough for 3 people. This soup was perfect for a cold evening with lots of stuff inside including tofu, bamboo shoots, and wood ear mushrooms. To my surprise, there was shrimp inside too. I highly recommend the hot and sour soup.

Yelp
Just tried this place for the first time. Really great quality and taste . They still do old school deliveries. I appreciate this . The fees door dash and Uber charge are not worth the service. I definitely want to continue to support this place

Yelp
This is a secret gem on Noriega. Their lunch specials are perfect portions for 2 people. I always get beef chow fun, sweet and sour pork, and Mongolian beef. It also comes with rice and soup. Workers are so nice here and tables have fresh roses on them every time I come.

Charlie M.

Yelp
Service was good. Friendly, informed staff. Clean tables with tablecloths. Food was very good. Started with hot and sour soup one of my favorites. Had shrimp in it! Kung pao chicken and amazing eggplant Sichuan style!! 5 start!! They have brown rice too!

Yelp
I completely forgot about this place until a friend suggested meeting up for lunch here. I used to frequent this place when I worked nearby and even brought my kids when they were toddlers. Just like back then, this pace has solid Shanghai and Szechwan dishes. While I love their noodles, stir fried rice cakes and sautéed fish dishes, surprisingly, my favorite is their sweet and sour pork. No seriously, hear me out! The pork is nice lean and juicy pieces in a light batter, with the sauce not too sweet nor too heavy. It comes with a good amount of pineapple chunks and multi color cubed peppers. I don't know how it comes out so crisp whit the sauce on it, but now I crave it. Service is good and very friendly, and while the inside doesn't seem busy, they seem to have continually take out orders. If you need a good place for meeting a group, this is a good last minute option. Enjoy!

Yadira Z.

Yelp
Love this place! Hot and sour soup is a must, the best I've ever had. The customer service here is great. They do delivery but we prefer to dine in. Some of my go tos are chicken chow mein and garlic green beans. The Mongolian chicken is also fire!

Sijie C.

Yelp
Really love the 红烧划水。Food and service are good. Will come back Tables and chairs are a bit old but clean.

Yelp
My 86 yr old friend introduced me to Peking Restaurant & it's been my favourite ever since. As a native San Franciscan I have been so disappointed by the closing of so many of my favourite restaurants, but ,finally, I have found a Chinese gem!! And it is in my neighbourhood !! My favourite dish is their Fried Rice-any kind and my other favourite is their soups. One night, all we ordered was soup and appetizers. Hot & Sour Soup

Trevor S.

Yelp
STAY AWAy, There food used to be good but something changed. We have had three horrible experiences in a row . Time to find a new place!

Rene G.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. We try new items every time we order and so far we have liked everything. Thye are super nice wehn ordering on the phone and the delivery guy is always friendly.

Stuart K.

Yelp
One of the best Chinese restaurants in SF, a hidden gem. Incredible spicy wontons with a properly numbing mala. The Mongolian beef and spicy chicken are also solid.
google avatar

Jane W.

Yelp
Seems like people are very split about their opinions about this place, but I've definitely had excellent experiences (all delivery). I've tried a number of their dishes, and admittedly not all of them are stellar. However, what I keep going back for is their Mapo Tofu (really strong on the mala pepper and is truly excellent) and their Szechuan beef noodle soup. Prices are standard for this area, delivery is fast, and quality/quantity is consistent. Will continue to be a regular.

Yelp
Very disappointing order...this is during "stay in place". Ordered walnut prawns, Lemon chicken, tomato beef chow mein, Fried Wonton, Eggplant & rice. Normally, I love this resturaunt. Usually known by locals for thier fresh & tasty food. Today..something was off in dodge. Food not even close to the normal yummy. Very disappointed with the order...with the exception of the eggplant...the food was painfully horrible. The chicken was hard slivers...shouldn't have been served. The prawns were off...tasted stale. The chow mein was salty. Overall..just a miss for our dinner.

Yelp
I went for lunch with a friend and I absolutely loved the whole experience. It was like going to a family member's house because everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing! It was my first time trying Szechuan Spicy Sliced Fish and Black Mushrooms and Spinach and I loved every bite of both!! I wish I lived closer because I'd definitely be a frequent customer but I was just in San Francisco for the weekend before I headed back home to Los Angeles. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Yelp
I am not sure why this restaurant doesn't have more patrons. The food is consistently good and flavorful. They have one of the best Shanghai rice cakes. Their Shanghai spareribs and lion's head are some of our favorites. The waitress is always pleasant. If you haven't try this restaurant, it is definitely worth a try.

Yelp
The reason why I constantly come back here is mainly because of three things: (1) They accept credit cards. (2) Customer service is amazing! (3) THEY TAKE CREDIT CARDS!!! Seriously, how hard is it to start accepting credit cards. Even having a minimum charge (like this establishment does) is so much better than having to carry cash around just to be able to eat at a Chinese restaurant pretty much anywhere in the Outer Sunset. Get with the times, people! Now, onto the food. The food is good! I always get something that is off-menu and she always remembers what I want to get and it's great! Pretty much anything I order here is reliable and fresh. I never get bad customer service here so that's another big part of why I love getting food here. With that said, I've never dined-in or ordered delivery here. I've always just picked up my food. However, judging from the reviews, it seems that the weak link at this establishment are their delivery drivers. So maybe that's one thing they can work on.

Yelp
Average food. Bait and switch. We received two -$50 gift certificates for this restaurant and decided to try it out. We looked on line and jotted down the orders and it came below $50. So I drove there with both of our certificates expecting to use only one. Behold, the prices on site do not match the on line menu. In fact it was about 50% higher. Luckily, I had both certificates with me. The food was very typical Chinese restaurant - nothing really outstanding - but what riles me is that the prices are much higher than shown on line. Since they do mainly to go orders, it would behoove them to update their prices so that customers don't feel like they got rooked.

Yelp
Great food and great service! Relaxed environment and wonderful spot.

Yelp
Excellent thanksgiving dinner delivery! We ordered so much food as usual, but each one tasted incredibly delicious! We ordered: 1. off- menu steamed live fish, 2. vegetarian chicken, 3. smoked fish as appetizers, 4.shanghai salted pork with tofu ribbon and bamboo shoots soup, 5.general chicken, 6.green onion beef, 7.zucchini with dry shrimps, 8. Shanghai ribs 9 . Beef with crispy noodles And a free pork and egg fried With these dishes to taste their menu, they wo a 5- star from my household! And they delivered on time!

Yelp
Still coming here and the food is just as great as my previous reviews. Mainly updating to share thanks to the lovely owner for always being super sweet and nice . Big thanks to the chef for always making delicious food and putting a smile on my face and tummy. Best Chinese donuts in town for sure(weekend lunch hours only) and many other great dishes! Thanks for staying open !

Yelp
This is our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood.  Have been going there forever.  Very friendly staff and Szechuan beef or prawns to die for.  Besides those dishes, our favorites are walnut prawns, mandarin beef, different soups and many other dishes.  Love this place.

Cathi R.

Yelp
This restaurant has always been cool! I've patronized it for 7+ years. I'm glad they've stayed open through covid. The food's great! I took a date there and he loved it. Friends from out of town say it's the best!

Yelp
Went here for Father's Day lunch. I was surprised how not busy it was. The food took a long time to come out, but it seems like they cook the dishes fresh (I kind of peaked into the kitchen on the way to the bathroom hehe). The service was pretty good. For a party of 4 (3 guys) with no left overs, it was about $100 for 6 dishes: 1. Twice Cooked Pork - my fav dish out of the 6 2. Szechuan Spices Spare Ribs - second fav dish 3. Sauteed Eel strips - least favorite, no flavor, not to crazy about the slimey texture either 4. Shanghai Style Shrimp - ehh.. not much flavor 5. Shredded Tofu dish - pretty good 6. Fish and mushroom dish - just alright.. kind of bland. It's an average food place, and the serving sizes are pretty small. I probably would not come back here again or ever crave their food.

Yelp
Peking is a good Chinese restaurant near 19th Ave. on Noriega. I found this place on accident, once the Korean place I like across the street seems to be closed down. The hot and sour soup is awesome, not too hot or too sour with a very deep rich broth that makes it one of the best hot and sour soup I've ever tasted! Both times I've been here I ordered the spicy house chicken, and it is very good with black mushrooms. The lunch specials cost about six dollars and range up to nine dollars at most. The service is typical to Chinese restaurants, spotty at times, but that's OK. Come here for the hot and sour soup alone, and you end up ordering several things off the menu. Will be back soon to explore the menu, and provide an update.

Yelp
This restaurant is the best. I didn't know where to go for lunch while working in San Francisco so I picked this place. Holy crap... this food is some of the best Chinese food I've had in a very long time! I got the General Chicken, a go too staple for me. It knocked my socks off! Food was hot, crispy, and had great flavor. This was a DoorDash order so I didn't get into the atmosphere of the place, but I can definitely vouch for their food!
google avatar

Johnson L.

Yelp
Great family style restaurant that serves Chinese food. The place is spacious and welcoming. Large enough for a bouquet.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
My wife and I decided to try this place since we were in the neighborhood. The food was EXCELLENT ! And the service was also terrific considering it was just one person. We had the 3 delight sizzling rice soup, pot stickers, triple mushroom with chicken and fried rice. Everything was outstanding, flavorful ! Worth the price, whatever I spent on the dinner ! We'll be back the next time we roam the neighborhood ! Highly recommended! Go there NOW !!

Andrey P.

Yelp
Reliable good restaurant for Northern Chinese cousin using by us for menu years with no change quality! If you need spicy just ask! Thank you

Yelp
I typically only have Chinese food (other than dim sum) when I have dinner with the family or when I order delivery. Wanting to try a new place, the roommate and I ordered delivery through delivery dot com. December 2013 *Hot spiced house chicken ($7.95) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/peking-restaurant-san-francisco#ZhRKalCL3RqP_bXKq-s-nA *Mixed fried rice ($6.95) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/peking-restaurant-san-francisco#8KNqiZGs51QRZbUGzvn-Cg *Sauteed dry string beans with pork ($7.95) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/peking-restaurant-san-francisco#E4h6JAsQwoLOGs0T9ybILA *Marinated jelly fish ($8.95) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/peking-restaurant-san-francisco#EjqO_tbEH7rk2XJkRl1kTQ *Beef chow fun ($6.95) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/peking-restaurant-san-francisco#7vHJ8TVPidrRv2t75a2tGg *Wonton soup (small $4.95) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/peking-restaurant-san-francisco#28fPG-1fJxagRRejOJs0HA I'd been through a string of getting tasteless beef chow fun so I was pleasantly surprised when Peking restaurant's version was full of flavor. I didn't have to add anything to give it taste! The green beans were good too. Still retained a nice crunch. The roommate ordered the chicken since he wanted to try something new. It wasn't very good and not really that spicy. It did have black mushrooms which I love eating. The rest of the dishes were pretty average. Decent chinese food and pretty good prices for delivery.
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
This is some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. We ordered $70 worth of items, and the only edible ones are the potstickers and egg roles. The Sesame Chicken was essentially all breading and no chicken, and had a very bad taste, but the Cashew Chicken was totally inedible. I took a bite and had to spit it out. My husband didn't believe it could be that bad but took a whiff and nearly refused to try it after just that. He ended up taking a bite to double check and spit his out as well.
google avatar

Tina K.

Yelp
We do order from here and actually found it via Yelp. The food is good and the service is very friendly. We usually order the chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken , potstickers. I'm always pleased with our food and of course have plenty of left overs :)
google avatar

Mia C.

Yelp
This place knows how to make some great Chinese food! Support your local, family-owned business for some easy, casual Chinese food. They have have some nice big tables for big families and some for small parties as well. Great service, just remember to be patient, as food should never be rushed and everyone is human and makes mistakes!
google avatar

Mary R.

Yelp
My family loves this neighborhood gem! The owner is so incredibly kind. The veggie potstickers are great. We order from the Chinese menu and love the weekend savory soy milk special and Shanghai stir fried rice cakes.
google avatar

Don H.

Yelp
Pretty good delivery chinese restaurant. I'm a huge fan of that "American-Chinese" delivery food aka General Tso's, beef with brocoli, etc. So this review is based on that food. Delivery was quick, the g tso's was tasty. Will definitely order (and have already ordered multiple times) again!

Maureen K.

Yelp
We just paid $70 plus tip for four items. Everything everything was bad. The oil tastes bad some items undercooked most overcooked. Usually this place is good. Maybe a different cook mondays but it's v questionable if this is safe to eat but too unpleasant anyways to look on bright side.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Great food for decent price! Their mapo tofu was DELICIOUS and their Hong Kong style pan fried noodle was so tasty and way cheaper than most other Chinese restaurants! The staff is very nice too, was so courteous to me when I went to pick up food this past weekend. Highly recommend and will go again!
google avatar

Donkalo R.

Yelp
First time here or to this area. Service was very good food was tasty and plentiful, atmosphere was very nice. Next time I'll be back again,

Jessica G.

Yelp
This is our neighborhood Chinese restaurant, and it does not disappoint! The food is consistently delicious and the prices are great. I'm especially impressed by their beef dishes, which are incredibly tender. Definitely recommend if you want tasty food or want to sink into a wonderful food coma--I have done so many, many times.
google avatar

Annie P.

Yelp
We just order delivery and the food was very bad. We ordered $80 dollars worth. The wonton was burnt! The the lemon chicken, I think they forgot to put the lemon on lemon chicken. Whoever was the cook on this night forgot that you are suppose to season the food. The chow mien had no flavor. Do not order to take out because the food is way better eating in!!! Way disappointed.
google avatar

Steve A.

Yelp
Inexpensive but the food was pretty standard so it doesn't really stand-out from any other Chinese restaurant. Owner was pretty friendly.
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
After being virtually ignored at two other Noriega restaurants [I had my 2 1/2 year old grand son with me], I stepped into Peking and had a completely different experience. We came after the lunch rush so the place was empty. We were seated immediately and brought a high chair. The service was amazing and, considering we had a toddler, efficient. We ordered pot stickers, onion pancake, spring rolls and hot/sour soup. Delicious! My grandson inhaled everything with exuberance! Even the tea. A great place to take a small child [although I always recommend going anywhere to eat in SF with a child during the off hours].
google avatar

Monica D.

Yelp
Unfortunately I'm giving this review a one star due to the fact that the driver who delivered my was RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL just because I would not give him a tip which in the US is OPTIONAL. He point blank told me to never order from this restaurant again. So I called the restaurant and told them, but it sounded like to me that they were not taking me seriously!
google avatar

Mona C.

Yelp
[M]ona: 4 Stars [W]ayne: 4 Stars Average: 4 Stars + Good chicken salad + Lunch menu is cheap + Affordable for the entire family + Children friendly and nice staff + Takeout Coupons [W] This is a good spot on Noriega for all those people who aren't willing to go into Chinatown for the real stuff. The dishes that I really enjoy is the chicken salad and their Hong Kong style crispy noodles. I ordered take-out the other day and tried their Mandarin Chicken which was really good as well! If you eat in, it's always the usual same two people. The nice lady and the server which looks like a big old bear that you can't understand. All I ever understand from him is when he says "you want rice?" other than that, it sounds like jibberish but its ok. When ordering take-out, normally you would expect to get rice for free (It is an Chinese place isn't it?), but no, they actually charge for rice! As being Chinese myself I think that is ridiculous. I think that was the only down side. Other than that, I recommend just eating at the restaurant itself. Don't forget, if you order out and order $15 bucks or more, I believe they give you a free chicken salad with their coupons on the take-out menu. They're not going to tell you about that so remember to look at the take-out menu first. Another thing weird about this place is that they have two separate menus. One for the Chinese people with their "special" stuff and a separate one for tourist. I don't understand why they need to do that but I find it annoying when they automatically stereotype me and give me the Chinese menu which I find very confusing. You'll understand what I mean when you see it yourself. The other menu is definitely much easier to order from because they split all the entrees into categories such as poultry, seafood, pork, beef, vegetables, etc.

Yelp
I find myself coming back everytime I crave for shanghai dumplings and noodles. The lady who owns the place is super friendly as well as the rest of the staff. We ordered 2 orders of the shanghai dumplings, one order of the shanghai noodles, green onion pancakes and potstickers- total was $28.00. What a hidden gem!
