Decent food. Gyro platter was processed meat. Other dishes looked homemade. Definitely very dated atmosphere. But food was good

We had a great time. Table of 5 that they accommodated even though I didn’t make reservations, which I recommend because they were pretty busy for a midweek sitting. Great staff. Very friendly. Most of us had appetizers, a glass of wine, a meal and dessert (yummy baklava) . Very reasonable, “off-5th ave” pricing.

So my hubby and I saw this place on Sat. night driving by. We still had a few errands to run but we were hungry and we have been longing to find a gyro place like one back home so we decided to come here afterwards. We walk in and instantly we were met with some tension we were asked if we had a reservation we said no we didnt know we need one the girl curtly said its suggested...btw the place was dead!!! This was around 6pm. So our waitress comes as we're looking at menu and we had questions about the grilled artichokes and we asked her how fresh are they and this was her answer "it depends on your definition of fresh" and then we ask further after our jaws are picked up off of the floor are they jarred or canned artichokes and she say "I can certainly guarantee you they are not from a jar!" These are verbatim comments, guess what they were from a can! So a girl comes by to ask us how we are and how is everything and we ask about artichokes because we know that these are jarred or canned artichokes she goes and finds out for us and sure enough they are canned, you would think that because we weren't eating them we told her they tasted horrible they would've taken them off especially after our waitress Cindi lied to us. But no they didnt even offer! Well our food comes out and my gyro meat looked like it came from a spam can or frozen I have never seen gyro meat look like this(I ordered the gyro platter) I know gyro meat. My husband ordered the seafood pasta plate...we decided to do halfsies...ya know buy two entrees and split them in half so both parties can try each dish. So I was NOT impressed with my dish that much and I asked if they had hot sauce...THIS WAS THE ONLY AMAZING THING at this place it reminded us of home and it helped maked the gyro meat taste better...my hubby liked his foodhe only ate about 1/3 of his plate I ate maybe a very small child handful and I wasnt that impressed with his either...so we pay we leave...we werent home for about an hour and all of a sudden my hubby starts feeling a horrible headache and tension come on...THIS ONLY HAPPENS IF THERE IS MSG IN FOOD...and I too started not feeling well because I too in last yr have started having a sensitivity to MSG as well but not like my hubby does we know it is from something from this place when you look at photos and you see the artichokes are canned this is their words and you see the shape of meat you will be able to see that these two dishes weren't fresh as far as the seafood I am not sure if it was fresh or frozen...the mussels may have been fresh but unsure about the rest...so in short the food was sub par the service was terrible...they made us feel bad for not having a reservation yet the place only gained 2 tables while we were there and was dead when we came in...we only found out about/saw this place because we were going to another place in fact I didnt even see it my hubby saw the itty bitty sign way up in the air...so it's not like this place is that high end of a place where you know about it everyone is trying to get in so I dont even know why they wanted to act like they were creme de la creme!! I SAY EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE!! P.S. I forgot to mention my hubby ordered their egg chicken soup he specifically asked if it was hot or cold Cindi said hot she brought it out cold...when we asked her to please bring us some hot soup and some S&P my goodness she acted like we were asking her to walk 10 miles uphill in the snow!!

The food here was Phenomenal. Authentic Greek/Mediterranean cuisine served beautifully with a calm family atmosphere. This place is absolutely wonderful. I had the classic Gyro and my wife the falafel and the hummus was probably one of the best I've had.

Google
Definitely the best Mediterranean I've had since living in Naples. I had the Kima (Ground Lamb) Kebab. Excellent flavor, great char and nice portion. Really fresh ingredients. Definitely recommend starting with a Greek salad before your meal. Was delicious. You wont leave here hungry. Staff is very nice too! Will be back soon.

Google
Yummmm!! One of the best Greek restaurants I have ever been to! I suggest making a reservation for lunch or dinner during the “snowbirds” time :)

Google
One of the best Greek lunches I’ve had in Naples. The staff was incredibly accommodating to our large group of over 20 people. The lunch special menu was a great deal and allowed me to try both the Greek salad and Shawarma sandwich. I highly recommend this spot and plan to go back soon.

Google
During our recent vacation in Naples, we had the pleasure of dining at Pelagos, a delightful home-cooked Greek restaurant that truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. We started with the grilled octopus, which was perfectly charred and tender, bursting with flavor. The house salad was a refreshing complement, featuring fresh vegetables and a zesty dressing that elevated the dish. For our main courses, we savored the lamb chops, which were succulent and seasoned to perfection, and the chicken kabobs, juicy and grilled just right. Each bite was a testament to the chef's dedication to authentic Greek cuisine. The portions were generous, leaving us satisfied but still wanting more. The overall experience at Pelagos was fantastic, with a perfect blend of delicious food and exceptional service. If you're in Naples and craving Greek fare, I highly recommend visiting Pelagos for a memorable dining experience!

Yelp
Pelagos Café is family run Greek- Mediterranean Restaurant in a nondescriptive shopping mall called "Liberty Plaza" off at US 41 just South of Pine Ridge Road. I love their paintings on the wall. We started off with a small portion of tzatziki and fresh warm pita bread wrapped with a blue napkin. Wife ordered a Pastitsio or a Greek lasagna. It is flavorful! The portion is huge, she took half portion home! I have a "low tide", scallops, shrimps, mussels over pasta. It was so good I slurped in less than 5 minutes! The Greek salads were superb. Two tables over, they have the lamb chops, chicken liver and Soupa Avgolemono or egg-lemon soup. Very nice and authentic Greek food served here! We were so full and skipped our favorite Baklava, chopped walnuts and pistachios with filo dough and serve with honey. With the heavy rain late in the afternoon, only a few tables were occupied. In season, this place is packed. The service is impeccable and the price is reasonable. A great place for Greek food!

Yelp
Literally a whole in a wall and a lucky find. I will say I'm not a fan of carpeted restaurants, the aesthetics of the restaurant did seem outdated but overall the staff and the food make up for everything else. We came on a random weekday for lunch and it was busy. We ordered a gyro and a veggie pita, I thought they were both delish. I loved that it came with feta. As a side I ordered some falafels, they were perfect. It's the first time I'd seen them in this shape but I didn't mind. The flavors of our meals wee great and tasted fresh. The service was fantastic. Would come back.

Yelp
a taste of home! the gyros are great quality always fresh! Meat grape leaves are lemony and delicious. everything in the menu, yum yum

Yelp
Exceptional fresh Mediterranean food! Nice atmosphere & good service. The salmon en croute special was amazing, wrapped in phyllo dough with spinach & feta. We shared a flan for dessert. It was perfect.

Susan G.

Yelp
The ambience and service was good. The grilled octopus was terrific and the lamb kabob was good. However, the gyro plate was not very good. The gyro looks like the rectangle stuff one gets frozen and did not taste very good. I'd go back but would never order the gyros again.

Yelp
Just had a veggie pasta delivered to an event and it was the best. Clean fresh ingredients and it came with a fresh greek salad. Love this restaurant . Short on time get take out. They also cater. Love this restaurant

Manny D.

Yelp
Place from the outside is unassuming, but literally everything on the inside is amazing. We had the Greek salad, the chicken souvlaki, Kafta kebab and hummus. All ridiculous good. It's relatively healthy so you can't go wrong. The fries not healthy but still delicious. The owner and one waitress were more than helpful and zero complaints with the service. 5/5 stars.

Yelp
New favorite place in Naples. Our neighbor recommended this restaurant and it was as good as they said. We loved the saganaki, the lamb kabobs, the salads were amazing, and the pastichio. The prices were good, as was the wine. And the service was top knotch good. Our waitress was very prompt and friendly and knew her stuff. Hard worker. The paintings in the dining room are museum quality. Easy parking in a lot. We plan to go back many times! Cristo!

Yelp
We had an amazing experience here at Pelagos. Food was delicious and healthy. Establishment was pristine and clean and nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly and service was amazing. I would 100% recommend this if you are looking for a great night!

Yelp
A cute Greek cafe/restaurant tucked into the ubiquitous shopping plazas of Naples , Pelago offers decent food at ok prices. The tzatziki is however excellent but the shrimp saganaki was not memorable- thrown on top of pasta it list the flavor this dish usually has. My salmon with light breadcrumbs was baked perfectly. The Santorini salad- a country style salad made without lettuce needed better, sweeter tomatoes.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
If you go here for one thing go for the octopus. Call first. Make sure they have it. Cause if you go and they don't have it you're gonna be angry. I mean the rest of the food is great too but I love to just get the Greek salad and then the octopus and combine it into a dinner salad.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
This is my favorite, go to, meet for lunch or dinner, anytime spot. The food is fresh and always delicious. My favorites are the Greek chicken salad and the grape leaves. Fantastic.
google avatar

L S.

Yelp
Food tasted decent..but I received no forewarning that the olives in my Salad still had pits. Took a bite and broke a crown. I mean would it really cost them all that much extra to buy pitted olives? So lunch now costs $15.19 plus $300 for a crown.

Yelp
Big disappointmen!! Friend made reservations for us 10 days ago. even called back to confirm. We all got there and were told there was NO reservation. After standing there for 15 minute, we all walked across the courtyard to Don Tequila, where we were seat immediately, had fabulous friendly service, and wonderful dinners! Good luck to you Pelagos in the off season. You've lost long time year round patrons. We certainly won't be back, and will pass the word about our experience with your restaurant.

Yelp
it's Greek for sure, but, we where not thrilled this time out with the food as it seemed to be precooked in advance as we where told to order your Lamb shank special or you may not get it at 6 PM seating time. How does one sellout of a special in an hours time? when making reservations I was advised the restaurant does a big takeout business I didn't witness such at the time we sat till we left the restaurant. wether they do or don't do a big takeout not an excuse for an over salty Lamb Shank dinner, 5 of them preordered to be exact with appetizers dessert and drinks. we have dined here numerous times this by far not a good experience after advising friends with us the Saturday night special is delicious, big disappointment. Greek salad here is always best bet, but why the use of olives with pits still in them no clue for few dollars more buying in bulk as restaurants do, less teeth crowns being broken by biting into an unexpected olive with a pit in it. would I go back? that's debatable as stated the large Greek salad usually with the octopus is great but lately we been told the restaurant can't get octopus, WHY? every other restaurant in town that advertises octopus on their menus has it. Don't get me wrong there are other great Greek dishes on menu this was just not one of them that evening. hopefully these few easily corrected suggestions can be dealt with and I'm sure we are not the only ones that had this bad experience at Pelagos Greek restaurant.
google avatar

Dennis D.

Yelp
I've been to Pelagos Cafe a few times. Today was not the best. To start they did not have any salad today. It was soup or salad with entree. Did not have salad. There were three soup choices. They did not have vegetable soup. Guess no soup or salad for me. The salmon was good and served over rice. It came with vegetables in tomato sauce. I can't eat tomatoes. The other entree was ribs over rice. They were meaty but not very tasty. I'll try it another Here again. Dinner was very good. Three people at our table had Salmon and enjoyed it. I had a pork roast with rice and beans. Much better than last time. The avalemano soup was good. Upgraded to 4 stars. Off to beddy bye. Good night

Frank K.

Yelp
My favourite Greek restaurant in Naples they have the best lamb shank in town. I think everything on the menu is great.
google avatar

Tamberly S.

Yelp
What a fantastic lunch! I could eat here everyday. The food is so good and the prices are reasonable. I had the traditional Greek salad with grilled chicken and it was better than expected. Very flavorful marinated chicken breast, the dressing was perfect. We also had a traditional gyro and a side of bean soup. Everything was fabulous. Looking forward to experimenting with some of the other menu options. Lots of fish choices and specials. Definitely a hidden gem.
google avatar

Alexandra D.

Yelp
The hummus is authentic and delicious, it is served with warm pita bread that is very good too! Ordered the spanakopita and a Mediterranean wrap - ALL SO YUMMY! Highly recommend if you're looking for great Greek food and very kind servers.

Yelp
I love this place great quality food at a Reasonable price , also the customer service is very assertive and caring which I like great gyrossssss

Yelp
Great, authentic Greek food. Nice, cozy atmosphere. Greek salad was huge and fresh with all the usual ingredients. Flaming cheese was extremely tasty, but was not flamed at the table. Falafel we're good, freshly made with mint, not greasy and perfect. Lots of meat and seafood on menu, not too many vegetarian options, but a couple which is good. Pita was complimentary at each table, hot and soft. Great service. Cute place. Real authentic Greek food. My date had the octopus special which was incredible according to her. Haven't been here in years and glad I went back.

Stu B.

Yelp
Really good Greek food. Family owned and operated and it feels that way in a good sense
google avatar

Huma M.

Yelp
Great food! It seemed like a family owned business and everyone was caring and hospitable. The food was amazing. We ordered an appetizer (lamb dolmades), salmon entree and lamb kima kabaob, and everything was explicit and cooked to perfection. Suggestion: it took me forever to find the menu online before heading to the restaurant. Also, according to yelp it closes at 8, which isn't the case. I hope someone here takes the time give a good online presence to this restaurant. It's amazing and I hope more people get to know about it!

Rebecca P.

Yelp
we went to dinner about 8 Monday night, my husband and I have dined there many times over the years. The meat in my husband meal was tough I always get Mediterranean salad , there used to be quartered beets, fresh sautéed peppers etc. now the beets look like they came out of a jar and not many, the red peppers were maybe 3 and out of a jar. The price has continued to rise, now over $18. We really want to support local but will pass on this restaurant in the future
google avatar

Robert W.

Yelp
Eaten there for years. Just great food , reasonable prices, great service. What else could you want

Gail M.

Yelp
We love Pelagos! The special salmon wrapped in filo is great, when they have it. Some of our favorites are butter beans, calamari, meatballs and spinach pie. Consistently excellent food and great service!

P H.

Yelp
Friends had recommended this Greek restaurant, but very disappointed, starting with the extremely small wine pour. Maybe 5oz. for a $13 glass of cab I ordered. Don't restaurants realize that a "good pour" always puts a smile on a customer's face. I love lamb chops and order them frequently. Always want them pink in the middle, but for $37, these four thin 1/4" chops were cooked charred, medium and chewy. Too many good restaurants in Naples. I wouldn't recommend or go back.

Yelp
I walked in to this place unintentionally with a work group after a long meeting. I can tell you this place soooo good for the soul that day. Now, being a cultural snob at times when I know that my home city probably has the best Greek food by far, my tastebuds were extremely impressed. As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I was welcomed by so many familiar hearty scents of the fare I was about to have. I kept it simple with your traditional greek staples for lunch. I ordered a gyro, and also shared a tzaziki plate and dolmas. They were accompanied by a basket of warm pitas. I would have loved to opt for their fried octopus special, but I didn't want to scare people away from my table. I probably would have scared the traditionalists off if I ordered saganaki. Service was warm and inviting. They were attentive to our wait, and even welcomed us with another basket of warm pitas. My gyro was more than plenty, and the tzaziki had a nice substantial texture with the right tang. A colleague ordered their ribs, and I couldn't understand why until they brought it out and I had a bite. The meat fell right off the bone, and the greek spices were jampacked with so much diverse flavor. I'm not sure about the background of Pelagos Cafe, whether or not it is owned by a family, but that's the feeling I got when I walked in. I was ready to throw down the plates. Definitely a must-go place. I'll have to check it out for dinner.
google avatar

Donald C.

Yelp
I showed up here hoping to get a falafel sandwich at 1:45 one day and they said they were closed. Not another word. Didn't even mention that they open back up at 5. I'll try again someday but I'm never gonna remember that you guys close in the middle of the work day for 3 hours. That's such an absurd concept I don't even want to bother. I can get a falafel anywhere. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I felt like you guys coulda whipped something up for me and worked 5 minutes later than 2:00...
google avatar

Ling S.

Yelp
Great service and great food! I LOVE Pleagos Cafe! My family probably eats here once a month. It's part of our regular restaurant rotations for dining out. I can't get enough of that tzatziki sauce! You can see the fresh cucumbers sliced into it. Paired with warm pita bread, YUM! Try the zucchini flowers, chicken livers, and the calamari appetizers. I also always get the lemon egg soup. There's just some simple and comforting homestyle quality about it. For the main dinner, I would recommend the lamb chops for anyone enjoys lamb. My father always raves that its perfectly grilled and cries a little when he finishes his plate. I like the gyro platter or the low tide pasta dish.

Manny O.

Yelp
I was chatting with my neighbor and he noted today is GREEK Day for Lunch . So I thought why not So off to PELAGOS CAFE. I must make a note here the menu is not posted on Yelp ( yes I know) So onto GOOGLE to find the menu. There were TWO LUNCH Items that stood out a little boring here on my first choice true standard ( CLASSIC GYRO) Lamb meat , on pita tomatoes , onions and very tasty Tzatziki. It is classic Home cooking for Greek Lovers. The side Salad , I am not a salad fan but this was very good great taste and there was so much Feta I could have made a brick of Feta out of it. The other selection CHICKEN SOUVLA - Marinated Chicken with the GREEK works , was also a winner winner chicken Pita. The value was spot on and the flavors were there as well. Will I go back YES , AS THEY SAY "OPA" MY TWO CENTS

Brittany A.

Yelp
I got a vegetarian platter the night before Thanksgiving. It was delicious. I didn't waste a bit of it and I will definitely be going back to try more. Excited to see what their hummus tastes like! Also the employees were friendly and welcoming. They have cool plants outside the front door too. Thanks!

Debbie K.

Yelp
Just tried Pelagos Cafe after reading all the reviews. It was excellent! Nothing fancy but the service was good and so was the food. Had the lamb chops-so good! My husband had the chicken kebobs- liked them a lot. The salad was yummy also

Bill Z.

Yelp
First, I should say that we, Greeks, are very spoiled when it comes to food. (If you have been to Greece you know what I am talking about). This place ranks way above average even when compared with similar places in Athens, Greece (and, believe me, the comparison group is LARGE! ;)) And it ranks far above anything else I tried in Naples without even considering the fact that it's prices are way below average. If you are in Naples, go there! Try the spanakopita, the chicken souvlaki, the keftes (Greek meatballs), the mahi mahi salad (I suspect everything else will be as good but those I know are!)

Zeke D.

Yelp
Went for quick lunch and had delicious gyros sandwich specials. Also very fresh salad with great dressing. Good service too. Economical as well. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Tamar G.

Yelp
I just moved it here. The service is good fast and very nice . The food was good not fancy simple and good like home cooked. Nice atmosphere. I will be back
google avatar

Roger E.

Yelp
A good way to judge a Greek place is if their dolmadakia is home made, it takes some extra effort to make those and I always start with asking if they are home made. It's also a very good starter, if you have only tried dolmadakias from a tin, it's not the same product if they are homemade. Grilled octopus was also on our menu, also very good prepared. Saganaki was another good thing we ate :-) As you can see me and my wife did not go away hungry, as we also had plenty of fresh pita bread with tzatziki, and of course a Greek salad. Yassou !!

Julia L.

Yelp
Great Mediterranean restaurant! Loved the shish kebab, rice was so tasty and so were the veggies
google avatar

Angelo G.

Yelp
Went there today for lunch. I didn't realize they close at 2:30 but I got there at 2:00. I had the lunch special gyro and a Greek salad for $10.50. The salad and gyro were very good. I liked the gyro had thick slices of meat. The staff was friendly.
google avatar

Larry R.

Yelp
Not terrible, not great, merely passable greek-type cuisine. Friendly staff, but somewhat tired decor.
google avatar

Tanya K.

Yelp
Amazing lamb chops. We all enjoyed them Very much. We started with roasted artichoke stuffed with crabmeat. It was delicious. Then we all went head first into the complimentary hot pita bread and freshly made tzatziki sauce. Then our freshly made greek salads came out and everyone loves it. Then the lamb chops. Even our daughter loved it! She ate right along with us. Everything was so fresh. The menu is pricey and strict. They say absolutely no substitutions and no sharing. I love to share and I love substitutions my 2 favorite things lol

Yelp
This is great restaurant run by a family. Food is always good and service is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I hate posting reviews like this but businesses should be punished if they do not follow business hours. I came in at 8:20PM on a Tuesday evening and was turned away by an employee because the kitchen had already closed. Mind you, the hours posted on Yelp are not wrong as the hours posted in their door mentioned they should be open til 9. But they were already closed a full 40 minutes before their mentioned hours. Who cares is the food is any good? Bad business practices should not be encouraged. Dine at your own risk. They might be closed already when you arrive seeing as their hours are random.
google avatar

Jamie R.

Yelp
You have to try the meatballs, made of roasted lamb wrapped around ground beef and pine nuts. Fabulous.
google avatar

Frank L.

Yelp
My favorite go-to place for great & consistent food. I've eaten lunch here maybe 30 times (probably more) the last couple of years & we always have a great meal. Gyro is great (could use more lamb flavor) & the beans & rice with their housemade hot-sauce rules! Service is wonderful! They have stuffed zucchini flowers done a bunch of different ways on special... so good! Love this place! Haven't eaten dinner here yet, don't know why, always think of it for lunch... maybe because they don't have a bar to knuckle up to. Pelagos is great in my book!
google avatar

Alexandra S.

Yelp
Best Greek place in Naples , big portions, friendly staff, great selection. Got two gyros, grilled cheese. The main dishes come with a free greek salad ! Everything was so good! Big fan of Greek food and this place is the best! Definitely coming back to Pelagos
google avatar

Yelp
MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT! Love the appreciation from the family owned atmosphere MUST try everything! I can't get enough of the taziki! Best place in town! Only real Greek food you'll find in Naples I'm getting hungry writing this review!

Yelp
Pelagos is always a must when we're visiting my parents in Naples. My husband dreams (and talks) about this place all year long. Nothing has come closer to bringing us back to the food we ate in Greece for our honeymoon than Pelagos. Plus, if you're hungry, you won't be when you leave. First, instead of chips and salsa, your table is greeted by the waitress with a basket of warm pita and tzaziki. The pita is freshly made and is absolutely wonderful. Next, with most meals (maybe even all?) you get a Greek salad. The salad is HUGE! Topped with cucumbers, onions, tomatoes and beautiful olives and feta, the salad is delicious. On a side note, we ordered Saganaki, Greek cheese fried served with a slice of lemon. This was our favorite dish in Greece. Although Pelagos' is slightly oily, it still is delicious and the closest thing to what we had in Greece. Every visit I get the same meal. Grilled Mahi Mahi covered with a salad made of roasted artichokes, asparagus, olives and overall goodness. Need I say more? I was also impressed with the Moussaka this time which was a first time order by my mother. The flavor was delicious and each layer complimented the next beautifully. I also can't say enough for the waitstaff. They are so quick to fill your glass, get you more pita and provide you whatever you need. I have never left disappointed!

Yelp
I'm sorry to have to write this review because the owners were truly very friendly. Unfortunately that was the only highlight of the night! Let me note that I am Greek American raised in greece and I know my Greek food so I think my opinion counts. First of all, for those who say that the restaurant is owned by Greeks, I MUST correct you and say that the owners are Albanian. They are using a Greek name and menu However the spices and flavors are far from Greek or even middle eastern. We ordered several appetizers to get a taste of everything. Let's start with the grilled octopus. It was way too hard and rubbery. Basically inedible. We left it all in the plate. Second, was the saganaki(fried cheese). To make good saganaki you have to use a salty yet sweet cheese. Then you flambé it in ouzo or brandy. This saganaki was extremely hard and salty. Was simply fried and served with lemon in a hot plate. The Greek salad was bland and boring. Consisted of lettuce, two slices of tomatoes, a couple of olives and crumbled feta on top. The dressing was flavorless... Real Greek salad is not made with lettuce and has all the above plus green peppers, kalamata olives, oregano, extra virgin olive oil with wine vinegar and sea salt. The calamari which the waitress recommended was crunchy but again so bland. It's like the food had no punch to it. No flavor... Served with a marinara sauce from a jar.. The falafel! Ok this is not a Greek dish but was I disappointed! Again so bland and flavorless. Made in the shape of Cuban croquettes. Not that the shape counts but when I tried to pick it up with my fork it fell apart. Served with tzatziki and not with tahini which is the right way to serve falafel. Of course we did not opt for desert after all this. We took the food with us because we did not want to insult the owners by leaving so much food untouched on the table. We pretended we were so full and took it for "later" the food went straight into the garbage. Sorry Pelagos cafe... I would recommend you revisit your recipes and rethink your menu. Cheers
