Located in one of Penang’s very old and charming buildings — the India House. There’s no visible signage for the restaurant, but it’s easy enough to find by taking the stairs inside this historical building. The interior has a modern Muji-style design — clean, comfortable, and spacious. It’s suitable for all kinds of groups. We went as a family of eight, and I really appreciated that there’s no minimum spending requirement, even for larger groups like ours. Sharing is allowed, which let us try a good variety of dishes from the menu. The food was excellent — even the older uncles and aunties in our group enjoyed it! 😄 The waitress was very attentive and helpful, patiently explaining the menu to us. The vegetables are freshly grown in-house from their own incubator, which makes every dish taste fresh and wholesome. Corkage for own wine is around RM90 per bottle Parking is available around the building or at the nearby Ali Nasi Lemak food court (about RM3 per hour). It’s just a short walk from there. Overall, a wonderful dining experience in a beautifully restored old building — definitely worth a visit!

Cool place in an old building. I didn't see the restaurant sign down at the building therefore was a bit confused to locate the place. Either I missed it or they have to do a better job in proudly putting up signs. I like the very high ceilings and the space inside though the furniture and fittings can be of better quality despite trying to look young with the muji language. Chairs and table just feel too light in their materials. I am commenting on this as the restaurant is supposedly on the slightly upscale side. There are plenty of interesting modern food on the menu, fusion to some extent. We ordered the recommended Peruvian roast chicken and aged black Cod. Call me old fashioned, I was disappointed by the nicely decorated chicken with interesting and pretty nice sauce not overly rich, just genderly refreshing and comfortable, the Brussel sprouts in it is a nice company better than the pear which I don't find it a best match. The real disappointment is the chicken though not tough at all even for the breast, which has hardly any taste of chicken if the obvious absence of the char or roast aroma is not the worse part. I need my roast chicken to be like chicken and roast chicken to get the passing mark first before we talk about the dressing and look that come as a bonus. The Cod is not too bad that at least it tastes like a good and fresh Cod I its simple broth that doesn't kill the original taste of the fish. I finished the broth though it may look a bit rude. For me, some basics to be improved. Get the basics right first before the fancy part to be able to stand out sustainably. Including the furniture and fittings if you are charging the price level you are charging, eg MYR 40+ for the cheapest glass of house wine. Hope it helps.

I celebrated my birthday at Peninsula House and was pleasantly surprised at the great quality of dishes. The decor was the first thing that wow-ed me. I was chic, called upon its heritage and raw. We somehow over-ordered but it was very worth it. 🍸Cocktails We got both the chrysanthemum and Hojicha cocktail, which had very complex and well defined flavour notes. It was also prepared fairly quickly. 🍢Starters We got the focaccia, which came with a kale dip and kombu spread. Bread was fresh and the spreads were very tasty. We also got a tomato dish which looked too good to eat! It was made with their home grown tomatoes, edible flowers and a green base which tasted abit like custard. The textures and fresh notes really made this dish stand out. 🍲 Main Course We got a chicken dish, which had brocolini, roasted pears and a very well made chicken. My fiancé particularly enjoyed the dish! I got the seafood rissoto, which came with snow crab, caviar, bathed in a rich stock. Despite being very tasty, i felt that it lacked abit of depth, which was more commonly represented in things like prawn mee and hokkien mee. 🍧 Dessert We didnt get dessert as we were stuffed. Portions could easily fit 2 pax. Because i am celebrating my birthday, the staff prepared a fruit dessert made with passionfruit and mascarpone cream? Topped with some crunchy bits. Overall, dinner at Peninsula House was amazing and i would certainly return. The best part is that the restaurant is very photogenic and its toilets have aesop soap!

Exceptional meal. Enjoy it very much. Special mention our waiter, Amadeus, who gave us excellent recommendations for our food as well as wine pairing. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. He came over to explain to us on each dish when it is served. We enjoyed all the food from starter to main and desserts. I was amazed by the desserts, nothing that I have ever tried before (BTW, I am a dessert lover!). Please try the Cauliflower dessert, yes it is made from cauliflower and is is simply amazing! 😋😋😋😋😋😋 Will definitely come back again. P/S: The entrance to the restaurant is at the side of India house, no signage at all. Just follow the stairs and the music.

I enjoyed my dining experience here immensely! To be fair, I popped by 3 times and at different times of the day to get a better picture of this restaurant. I sampled items from their lunch and dinner menu as well as their crafted distilled cocktails. The food was delicious and the cocktails even more so. The place is located upstairs, and the entire restaurant was spacious, airy, and with good natural light during the daytime. There is a relaxing vibe here. The team does a great job of making me feel welcome, explaining their menu, and recommending their choice of wine. Alas, I had my sights set firmly on their cocktail list and will definitely come back next time for the wine and also tasting other items on their menu! Although dinner time is almost always full on weekends (they have 2 seatings), I have observed that everything seems to run smoothly and the higj service level remained unperturbed.

Grateful for the wonderful dining experience! Loved the ambience, and the food was excellent. Highly recommended, will definitely be back again soon. Daytime and dinner menu are different, good to reserve to avoid dissapointment

The overall experience was definitely more than a 10/10. Went there for dinner, and the entire atmosphere is super really romantic. Every single spot was definitely insta worthy, but despite the aesthetic, food was so good. Thought maybe it’s slightly pricey at first, but each and every single bite does justice for the price. Not to mentioned that they grow their own fresh produce too? Honestly so cool to see the farm to table concept coming to live. Love love about everything, and would definitely come back again and again <3

Very fortunate to have dined here. The homegrown vegetables are out of this world. Service was excellent thanks mainly to Amadeus who kept us informed and amused all evening. The dessert menu, however, could be developed further as I normally end my dinners with something sweet and delightful!
