"When we walk into Peninsula, our heart rate slows down by a few bpms. That’s because this Spanish spot is the perfect place to linger among flickering tea lights and slices of tortilla. The plates are small, but deliver big in flavor and texture. The menu is a document of few words—it’ll read “beet” or “endive” with a couple of other ingredients. What the menu doesn’t come with, though it should, is a disclaimer: “WARNING: DISHES MAY CAUSE SQUEALS OF GLEE OR EVEN A FEW HAPPY TEARS.” There are unique cucumber preparations and an impressive sherry list on the wines by the glass page. And, yes, there is Iberico pork, though here the spotlight is on the Iberico presa, a cut from the animal’s shoulder, rather than the ham." - jackie gutierrez jones 2, ann walczak, adam sloan

My husband and I came here for our 5 year anniversary and had a wonderful time! Our server Austin was great and the manager Tim could not have been nicer. It was a great place to spend our anniversary and rare night out just the 2 of us. We’ll be back again!

The people and the ambience were lovely. The food was a little lackluster. The potatoes literally could’ve been instant potatoes not so much as salt or pepper added. A really gave the impression of upscale cafeteria food. The steak was seasoned well But was severely undercooked. My wife got the Parmesan crusted chicken. There was no crust and there was a strange texture to the chicken. I didn’t mind the taste, but she wasn’t pleased about the definitely the drinks and the dessert. They have a parking lot this place is kid friendly And also accessible.

Google
Food was fantastic and the new Cauliflower appetizer was crazy good. Can’t go wrong with their Ribeye, always cooked and seasoned perfectly and the steak fries are best around. Ethan was out server and he was very attentive, always checking on us. Not to mention the bartender always serves the best bourbon cocktails with the 2XO. Definitely recommend.

Google
Amazing food, and the best service! I'm not the person who dines out very often, but after hearing great things about Peninsula Prime, I had to give them a try. I ordered a full rack of ribs with steak fries and coleslaw and it was amazing. The overall atmosphere and setting was very inviting. Julia was my server and she, along with others, provided amazing service. The full rack of ribs was more than I could finish there, and not only was I offered a to-go box, she even offered to pack my food for me. It was a very welcoming experience overall. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Highly recommend you give them a try.

Ethan was an amazing server. Not only was he knowledgeable about the menu but he was attentive and fast even on Valentine’s Day. Also, the food was the best we have had in awhile. We will definitely be back!

Google
A-MA-ZING experience!! My bestie made a reservation for my birthday and EVERYTHING was perfect. We got a seat in the bar area with Madison as our server. She was perfect... checked in, not too much not to little. The food was soooo good (we shared the scallops AND the ribeye, along with some oysters). The smoked old fashioned was good enough that we decided to cork our wine, and take it home, so we could have the cocktail. Madison is attentive, friendly, and (best of all) down to earth. We will DEF be making a trip back. Thank you Madison, and best of luck with school and all your endeavors.

We dined here as a last minute planned dinner this past weekend & really enjoyed our time! The oysters on the half shell were some of the best I’ve ever had. Amazing blue cheese olive martinis.. Our server, Ethan, was awesome. Really cool vibe at this restaurant!

Carson was fantastic, very entertaining and professional. Kind and courteous. He was very attentive. An excellent server! Had a great sense of humor and played along without hesitation. Carson is an awesome server. None better!

Yelp
Food is great. Everything taste so good and well seasoned. There is a lot of variety and options for everyone to select and of everything. Place doesn't look for big from the outside but there is a lot of seating. Even with it being spacious it doesn't lose its intimate feel. All servers and wait staff are super attentive and friendly. The portions are really large and great for the price point. The sourdough bread is good. I'd wish it was complimentary instead of having to pay 8 dollars. The truffle butter that comes with it is a little overpowering. We all had a variety of items. The oysters were great, prime salad with Champagne vinaigrette delicious, salmon was tasty, prime ribeye was good i heard. I had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast Whipped Potatoes, Green Beans, Beurre Blanc, the beurre sauce was good but a little too much was poured. I would have preferred it drizzle and it also was warm. They don't do larger parties so well, while our appetizers came out warm and on time, our main dish came out cold. We had a pretty late reservation, maybe it was an off night. I will be back though looking forward to it.

Yelp
Stopped for drinks with many friends at the bar. TJ and Ethan handled our large, spontaneous group drop in expertly. No hint of 'omigosh, the hockey event tour bus mob is here!' Just a smooth professional delivery of well made refreshments and appies. Well done, gents!

Yelp
I had my first visit to Peninsula Prime during restaurant week the other week and had a great experience. The location is tucked in the back of a shopping plaza and has plenty of parking. It is elegant inside with bar, booth, and table seating. For my meal I started with the Prime house salad which included euro cucumber, heirloom tomato, red onion, and a vinaigrette dressing. Next, I had the braised short rib entree with goat cheese fregola and baby carrots. Lastly, my favorite part was the red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. It was overall a delicious meal and great service.

Yelp
Last night I had the pleasure of attending a California Wine event here last evening, the food and service were outstanding. I had the most amazing duck, I have ever had in my life. The wine pair done by Heather were unique and paired amazingly well with each dish. We also had American waygu which I didn't even know was a thing until last night. It was a bit chewy but the flavor was amazing. If you have a chance to go to this gem, please do.

Will S.

Yelp
Good but not great. Service was the best part. Steaks were average at best and sides were very disappointing compared to other steakhouses. We were seated upstairs the ambiance was horrible with empty tables and chairs staked in the corner. Definitely ask to seat on the first floor.

Jan M.

Yelp
A beautiful interior space! The three of us could not have been mote pleased with our first visit to Peninsula Prime. Our server Angela was a welcoming start to the evening and provided us with insight to the menu options and recommendations when we asked. We each ordered a different glass of Chardonnay and all were to our liking. My husband started with the very good (cold and crisp) Prime Wedge. Our three entrées were Prosciutto Wrapped Cod, Steak & Shrimp Au Poivre and Maple Brown Sugar Salmon. Portions were generous and everything was delicious. For dessert, I ordered Salted Caramel Gelato - Yum! My husband and brother-in-law shared a large split portion of Carrot Cake. We would love to return on our next visit to see family in North Carolina.

Yelp
Went for an early Valentine's dinner and am so happy we did. Service was excellent and very prompt. Menu options are so good I had difficulty choosing. Wound up getting short rib with pasta and it was delicious. My husband had the biggest prime rib I've ever seen and it included a side. We will absolutely be back.

Yelp
Queens Fest restaurant week which always falls on my mom's and brother's birthday and we wanted to celebrate them. Heard about Peninsula and wanted to give them a try. The place is really nice and clean. Immediately great by a host/hostess. We were actually like 15 mins early but they still sat us down which I truly appreciated. We ordered so much but it was 6 people at the table. We ordered off the Queens Fest menu and also on the regular menu. We started with salads (caesar and wedge), calamari and lobster tacos and Sloppy joes. Everyone raved about how good everything was. My sister truly enjoyed her wedge salad. Entrees came out and at first my mom's food was cold (braised rib and mushroom risotto) however they fixed it immediately and the chef brought it out personally and apologized. My salmon was cooked great and the glaze that came on it was really good. My sweet potatoes were really flavorful. My brothers and sister enjoyed their food (steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes and broccoli and one brother got the duck which was a pasta dish). He doesn't eat pork and forgot to mention no bacon. However it was ok. He truly ate around it bc you could tell where the pork was. The desserts were good and my mom enjoyed the lava cake the most haha. The real kicker was we brought in 2 separate cupcake cakes for my mom and brother who were shocked and the restaurant guests helped sang happy birthday to them!! It was truly amazing. All the staff came by and told them Happy Birthday as well. It was truly amazing and Kaitlyn (sorry if I spelled her name wrong) did an amazing job as our waitress all by herself. I can't wait to return. Oh yeah, the setup is amazing and my brothers were able to also be not too close and not too far to see the football games that were on. Def recommend visiting. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We ordered a Tomahawk and were served steak nuggets with a dry bone beside it. To their credit they didn't charge us for the Tomahawk (steak nuggets) or this well-done (pink) steak below

Christine B.

Yelp
Had Christmas Eve dinner here. Staff was amazing. We ordered Caesar Salads - fresh and one of the best we've ever had Beet Salad- fresh and flavorful We ordered the Scallops over grits Steak & Shrimp- enjoyable we rated it 4 out of 5. One of them was given a 3 out of 5 (they asked for medium well steak tips and they were rare). Filet mignon - 3 out of 5. The filet was not very tender and it was served on a bed of whipped potatoes. For me, I do not like my meat on top of my potatoes. Had I known it was served like that, I would have asked for them on a separate plate. So I didn't get to enjoy much of the potatoes, only the outer portion that was not covered with the juices from the meat. Atlantic Fluke - 5 out of 5 It was decorated lovely for the Holidays and had a very nice ambiance. We will definitely try it again.

Yelp
Always amazing food and service! My family and I have enjoyed many dinners at Peninsula Prime. Celebrated Birthdays Company Christmas Parties and Mother's Day here! Definitely a Family Favorite!

Pam B.

Yelp
The food was great and our waitress was friendly and new. What was good on the menu. We will definitely be back in one of our favorite places to go now.!

Yelp
Me and hubby stopped by without a reservation for Valentine's Day, after our old faithful restaurant had a special menu with none of our favorites and not suitable for someone with seafood allergies. We hit google maps and found a place still open as it was getting pretty late. They were able to seat us immediately and the place was beautiful inside. We didn't particularly care for where they sat us as there were booths open and available but we were sat in the middle of the floor at a table made for 4. We were hungry so we accepted it. My husband ordered a top shelf Long Island which he didn't like too much but couldn't describe why. I ordered a calamari appetizer which arrived quickly and was superb. We ordered our food at the same time and it quickly followed behind. That calamari was so good I am ready to go back just for that. They did have a special Valentine menu so items were limited. But hubby ordered a warm spinach and mushroom salad topped with a over east egg. He thoroughly enjoyed it and still talks about it. For entree he got steak fried rice and it was delicious. I ordered a medium well steak and creamed spinach. Steak was cooked perfect and tasted well seasoned. Didn't care too much for the spinach flavor was kind of blah. We will return soon, service was great and attentive.

Yelp
What an amazing night . The place is beautifully decorated .. service was prompt ... prices were a bit high for NC.. but the food was delicious . Was a great first experience ...

Gaile D.

Yelp
As usual I give Peninsula Prime an overall review of excellent. The food, drinks, service and ambiance added to our awesome time to celebrate my sister's birthday. If you have a need to host a large group without booking issues at a perfect location Peninsula Prime is your place. You will not be disappointed.

Ponce C.

Yelp
The service here is great as usual hence the reason for the 4 stars but the food needs some improvement. The prime ribeye was great, it was tender, juicy and flavorful but the tomahawk steak was very chewy and bland. The sides were just mediocre, I can't recall anything that was that good that made me want to go back. The only thing we would go back for is the prime ribeye.

Erika F.

Yelp
I've gone to this restaurant 3 times within the last 4 months and I can accurately assess that this restaurant is about 4.6 stars but I'll go ahead and round up to 5. This place is great for large parties. They custom make the background of the menu to fit the theme of the party. However, I've been to 2 bday and 1 graduation dinner here, and they always forget about the custom menu and re-distribute once everyone is done ordering lol - it always makes for an awkward moment. Anyway, they do change up their menu quite often. My fav is the mussels! I've had their old bay oysters (didn't like), beef pasta (decent), fish and risotto (good), salmon bbq (good), and calamari. They served this lemon cake one time and it was phenomenal. I hate they didn't make it a staple on their menu. I think the only thing their menu is missing is a ribeye steak. Other than that, their service is on point, always.

Jen M.

Yelp
Went here with a group of five. It was Restaurant Week, and they seemed ill prepared. Very slow service, although our server was trying her best and deserves kudos. Bar was incredibly backed up so drinks took forever. Food was served cold, particularly the lobster bisque. The food itself was just meh and didn't wow any of us at the table. They were also out of several menu options. Not a great first experience.

Lori U.

Yelp
Visited for Restaurant Week. The lobster bisque had an amazing flavor and as promised, there were no lobster pieces. Oh well. The steak and shrimp was good. There were two shrimp that were meaty and good. The steak was served over the whipped potatoes with a nice gravy. It was in chunks, like a pot roast. Don't expect a filet. With green beans. The dessert options did not match the Restaurant Week menu. I was looking forward to the Lemoncello Torte, but it wasn't offered. I ordered the apple puff pastry. I kid you not, it was the exact apple pastry that I order from Omaha Steaks. The server told us that all the desserts were made in house. Sigh.

Yelp
My husband and I tried Peninsula Prime shortly after they opened in the former Alton's space. The food and service were amazing, and we'll definitely be back! We tried a couple of cocktails to start. I had the cucumber martini, and my husband had the dewer's collins. Neither was very sweet (yay!), and both were delicious. For our meal, we tried the shrimp and fried avocado appetizer. The portion was generous, and the shrimp, avocados, and sauce went so well together. For our entrees, I had the verlasso salmon, and my husband had the pan-roasted chicken. Both were low-carb entrees that had incredible flavor. My salmon was cooked a delicious medium-rare, and the cauliflower was roasted perfectly. The chimichurri and lemon sauce complemented this dish quite well. My husband almost got the Nashville hot fried chicken, but said the pan-roasted chicken was an excellent (and healthier!) substitute. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the roasted broccoli, corn, and avocado crema were perfect complements. (I even tried some of the avocado crema with my salmon, and might ask for a side of that to go along with my salmon the next time.) Our server was friendly, helpful, and yet also unobtrusive. The wait between dishes was perfectly timed. If I had one negative, it would be related to the interior space. If you liked the interior of Alton's, you'll appreciate Peninsula Prime's. The interior appeared almost unchanged from Alton's, although we didn't go there very often, so I could be wrong. We were seated in a booth upstairs, overlooking the downstairs dining room. The ceilings were painted black (as I believe they were before), and unfortunately, there was a bright light shining in my face. There was no artwork on the upstairs walls, and I hope they tone down the lighting and spruce it up a bit to make the upstairs dining experience a bit more inviting. The music, however, was hip lounge music that we really enjoyed. Peninsula Prime knocked it out of the park with a varied menu for all types of diners. Thank you for offering several low-carb choices! We loved our food and the service, and will definitely return!

Yelp
We tried out this restaurant as part of January 2024 Queen's Feast (restaurant week in Charlotte and the surrounding area). We were hopeful as it was a steakhouse and my boyfriend and I both enjoy a good steak. Our waitress and the staff were all extremely nice and friendly. Unfortunately the food did not live up to what we had hoped. We ate from the restaurant week menu, which consisted of an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. The only photo I have is of the appetizer which was sloppy joes made with Wagyu. It was good and my favorite part of the meal. For the entree we both ordered steak. It was okay but not amazing. It came with a side of spinach and mushrooms, which I didn't care for but my boyfriend liked, and steak fries that we both found to be okay but a bit soggy. Dessert was different than what was featured on the restaurant week menu online. The options online were miles better than what we were offered upon being seated. I ordered the chocolate lava cake. When it arrived there was no lava in it. I assume the chocolate on my plate was the "lava" that had flowed out and cooled down since my boyfriend ordered this cake too and his plate arrived clean other than the actual cake in the center. The cocktails were okay but we order simple drinks. Overall we will not be returning. I hope that their normal food is better than their restaurant week, however we used restaurant week as a way to try it out and are now not interested in returning.

Nailah B.

Yelp
I went here with my boyfriend for Charlotte restaurant week. I was pleasantly surprised at the experience. We ordered the shrimp and grit cake (delicious) and meatball as an appetizer. My boyfriend had the braised short rib that he enjoyed and I had the 6oz filet and shrimp. The filet was extremely moist even a few days later for leftover at home. I had the chocolate heath bar cake for dessert and if you like heath bars, you'd love it. It was a very chocolatey delicious dessert! My boyfriend had the red velvet cake, which could have been better honestly. The cake itself was a bit dry. I took off a star because of that, and the mixed drinks were really watered down. Overall the restaurant is really nice and had live music playing during dinner. Our server provided everything we needed, no complaints there. Overall a great date night spot by the lake.

Katie M.

Yelp
1000 times, yes to this restaurant!!!! It has quickly become our new favorite place for dinner and drinks. We bring family and friends here from out of town and they are always consistent and deliver a great experience. The food is so fresh and the menu changes regularly. They partner with local farms for the freshest ingredients and fly in the seafood daily. You can taste the difference in the quality of food they serve. Drinks are fantastic, there is a good wine selection and they have happy hour deals too. Check this spot out- you won't regret it!

Jian Y.

Yelp
Great music and excellent service people! Ordered Halibut and a glass of white Sonoma wine. Wine went with music well. However the big chunk of halibut is so dry, the mash so salty, I literally finished entire glass of ice water! One dry dish + a glass of wine $91 with tip. Not worth the money.

Lisa K.

Yelp
Went to Peninsula Prime for dinner. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. Loved the lovely young lady that took care of us for the evening. We never had to ask for our glasses to be filled. This restaurant doesn't allow any changes to their menu or substitutions. They charge a $10.00 sharing plate fee and a $25.00 corking fee if you bring your own wine. I ordered the mushroom stuff pork chop which came with whipped potatoes and green beans. The dish was delicious. This is a great place for a date or special occasion.

Tanya C.

Yelp
This newly renovated seafood & steakhouse came to please our every need from the cocktails to the pleasant staff! Everything was AMAZING! My friend Stacy and I started off with the wine flight and jumbo crab cake appetizer which was delicious. Then our Sommelier came to pair our wine with our entree which was a dessert Moscato which taste like running through a field of honeysuckles. I ordered the steak and scallops that were fresh and flown in daily with grilled asparagus. She ordered the filet with grilled shrimp. We both gave our meals 10/10! I was also given a private tour of the 2nd floor. It was redesigned this week to welcome larger parties to celebrate, birthdays, anniversaries, special events and holiday parties. Make sure to visit and share your experience!

Laura T.

Yelp
Not great. The space is nice. We had a group of about 12 or so and had the private dinning room. It was the weirdest table set up ever. It was like a horseshoe and everyone was so far apart. We moved the tables ourself which still ended up being kinda awkward. The service was okay. She was very nice and maybe our size of group was too much for one person to handle. She did drop a fork down my back at one point, luckily there was no food on it. The food wasn't great. I had a filet and it was just okay. The sides were okay as well. Nothing was bad but for the price, it also wasn't great. People at the table had the mushroom risotto and also felt it was just okay and somewhat underwhelming. Appetizers were also nothing special. Everything just felt a little unprofessional and slightly sloppy for an upscale restaurant. It was like someone didn't have much experience and decided to open an upscale restaurant.

Dennis S.

Yelp
I took my wife and kids to Peninsula Prime for Queens Fest July 2024. My kids are in grad school so they are old enough to appreciate fine dinning. The staff and waitress were extremely friendly and pleasant. The big disappointment came with the bartender. I ordered a Negroni and it came in a martini glass. A Negroni is typically served on the rocks in a highball glass. The drink was good, just served incorrectly and too little of it. My daughter ordered an Aperol Spritz which is made of Aperol, Prosecco, and a splash of soda. This was Aperol and a lot of club soda and that is all. If there was Prosecco in this drink it was waved over the top of the glass. We all ordered salads for starters so no biggie there, its a salad. For Entree's we had the Braised Short Rib, Stuffed Chicken Breast and 2- Filet and & Shrimp. The Short Rib was wonderful. It was served with goat cheese fregola and baby carrots. Very tasty and tender. The Stuffed Chicken Breast was over cooked and dry. The stuffing was home-made chicken sausage which was not bad. It just did not seem to marry well with the overcooked chicken breast. The filet and shrimp were OK. You could fix this at home and do as well. The shrimp were not attractive on the plate. Just 2 white shrimp laying there. If they would have been placed on the grill for a short time to add some color to make them more attractive and to add flavor it would have helped. The filets were good, not great or memorable, but for Queens Fest it is about what is expected. The deserts were a big hit. We had Better Than Sex Cake, Mini Red Velvet Cake and raspberry sorbet. All were fantastic. I appreciate Peninsula Prime for participating in Queens Fest. I wish restaurants would put a better foot forward when doing so because being reasonably new to the area this gives is a chance to try new restaurants without spending a ton of money. When we find restaurants that we enjoy and they put a good product out we will support them and return and tells others about it. However, when they seem to just go through the paces just to participate and put an average product out it gives me the message that if you aren't paying full price you really do not matter. We ordered a bottle of wine and drinks from the bar and tipped over 20% because I waitresses deserved it. So we do not just order the Queens Fest menu. We will likely return, but Peninsula Prime will not be top of the list waiting to go again. If we return it will be because of the staff excluding the bartender.

Peggy D.

Yelp
If I could rate this place zero stars I would. My husband and I went with two other couples. The place was half empty on a Saturday night so that should have been the first hint. Let me say they were fully staffed but we still Waited 45 mins for our an appetizers. Caesar salad dressing was flavorless. Wagyu sloppy Joe tasty but cold. Waited another 45 min for entrees and all six meals were barely warm. Room temp seafood is never a good thing. Flavors were lacking on the steaks. Whipped potatoes were too salty. I could have looked past a lot of this if my food was hot. Chocolate lava cake had did not have a gooey center(disappointing). We were there for 2 hours with all the waiting: Party of 6 over $500 with tip: We will not be back. I was so disappointed with the food. It's such a nice place, very upscale but the food is subpar to say the least. 0/10

Brittany D.

Yelp
Excellent service! Nice on the inside, cute, chic. Food and drink were really good but I think very over priced. This would only be a place I would go for a special occasion.

Meredith D.

Yelp
Peninsula Prime is a must in the Lake Norman area. Our server Kaelyn gave us the best experience for an amazing holiday brunch with the girls. I had the lobster tacos and knuckle sandwich which were DELICIOUS. Espresso martinis were also out of this world. The ambience is perfect for a group or a date and I even loved the soundtrack. The syrup from the buttermilk griddle cakes was also presented in the most artistic way as it is smoked! This is definitely a restaurant I want to keep going back to for the food, service, and vibes.

Erin S.

Yelp
I can't lie... i was a skeptic!! Management is SO nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I loved the cocktails here. The bacon wrapped figs are to die for and the filet was so tender!!

Ashley U.

Yelp
Finally checked this place out tonight and it was aesthetically exactly the same as Alton's kitchen was--which is a good thing--it's a beautiful building! We were greeted at the door which was great service. Our server was wonderful with Drink recommendations. Our first drinks were ok--we didn't like the Havana nights cocktail but second round was great! The lavender lemonade was a little sweet but good and the old fashioned was on point. I had the beet salad with salmon and it was perfection!! Big portion which is rare to find these days! My husbands filet was cooked medium rare and he asked for medium well. They took it back which was nice but I was done eating by the time he got his food. It took a while to find a server to help us with this. The asparagus was horrible and I dont even know how you mess up asparagus lol. The mashed potatoes were great! I also won a gift card on social media but forgot the physical gift card. Our server could take the social media confirmation unfortunately so we didn't get to use it. We live pretty far away so not sure if we'll be back but if we lived closer we would definitely would come back! Overall recommend going especially if you live in the area!! Such a great bar spot!

Yelp
Had the most amazing anniversary dinner at Peninsula Prime. I have had great dinning experiences before, but this was probably one of the most flawless experiences from reservation help from Jackson until the end of the evening. We were promptly seated into a cozy booth in the back of the restaurant. Peninsula Prime had set the table with flowers and a sign to commemorate our anniversary. Then we opened the menu to see a personalized menu congratulating us on the occasion ( nice touch). Kaelyn greeted us and asked us for our drink preferences. My wife is pregnant and asked if there were any special mocktails. Kaelyn asked if their drink specialist could make her something special. He came over to ask what she liked and made a delicious ginger beer type drink (fabulous). There were some great wine choices and bourbon choices. I went with a delicious merlot. We decided for the salmon and wagyu steak for our entrees. The salmon had a delicious brown sugar glaze with a side of butter squash (amazing!). The wagyu was easy to cut, tender, full of flavor and perfectly cooked with a side of mashed potatoes and asparagus. Loving the meal so much we couldn't pass on dessert. We opted for a raspberry pie with ice cream and crème brûlée. Both again fabulous, but I would opt for the raspberry the next time. Overall, this was a memorable and amazing experience. Kaelyn checked in with us frequently and was helpful with questions and recommendations. The atmosphere did not translate well in pictures I saw on Yelp. The atmosphere is cozy and a lot more upscale then what I had seen. This really is a place to dine if you haven't had the chance yet. 5 stars!

Greg J.

Yelp
Used to be the old Alton's Kitchen. Wife took me here for my birthday dinner, and it was nice, but not as good as a lot of the other options around the area for a nice steak house. I had gotten the ribeye, and it was cooked perfectly, but the seasoning just was kind of meh. Cocktails were decent, but not really anything to write home about. We had ordered some appetizers as well, and the calamari was great, the Cambridge oysters were basically oysters rockafeller but with a weird cold potato salad in the middle smothered in dill.

Amy G.

Yelp
Food was good, not great. Way over priced for portion given. Service was good. Ambience was good. Enjoy the new patio area. If you have dietary restrictions or wish to change any dish in any way, forget it. They allow no substitutions. If you make reservations, make sure you, your kids, and your guests will all still make it. They hold $25 / head to reserve a table. Plenty of other great restaurants in the area who cater more to their customers.

Yelp
Great potential for upscale go-to place. But why the loud, pounding club music? Unfortunate.

Yelp
Wife and I are in for dinner and a test of the new ownership and staff replacing an old favorite - Altons. In summary....they have work to do.. First, and very importantly, I must say that the quality of the food was first rate. My filet was very good, served right off the grill, and perfectly cooked to med/rare. Wife's fried chicken was excellent, tho a bit of the spicy side for her taste. What is missing is the place's "readiness" for a top spot experience. They are working on their 3rd chef since opening in April. Our server started last week. A new chef starts this weekend and so the menu is in flux and some options on the menu are no longer available. A couple specifics. - $5 for a small basket of table bread sends the wrong message. Don't be chincey in a $50 per plate place. - top flight steak houses offer a variety of sauces and topping options. Very few options here tonite. - wine options are light with most bottles in the $30s, altho the red Zin we selected matched my steak well and was very drinkable. - desert options were limited to 3 flavors of cheesecake. We don't like cheesecake therefore no desert to comment on. - I appreciate they are short staffed right now, but i ended up having to refresh my own glasses of wine, wait way too long to have someone clear the table after the main meal, and was never asked if we'd like coffee or an after dinner drink...both of which we would have ordered. :( So...all in al, not the best impressions tonight, but overall good enough to give them another try in a month or two.

Yelp
We have given this place a few chances since the renovation and tonight was our last visit. Food Food presentation and quality is far below the prices being charged. Grossly overpriced for sub-par food. Cocktails I ordered a caipirinha cocktail, which is one of my favorite cocktails. It was not sweet and there was no mint, which is usually a standard part of the recipe. When I told the server, she told me she'd bring simple syrup and I could mix it myself to get it right. So I'm paying $15 for a cocktail and I need to mix it myself.....NOT. Service Server passed the plates to us to pass around when serving. She also set the incorrect orders down in front of my husband and I. A good server always knows who ordered what. And, the restuarant wasnt even busy on a Friday night. Ambiance Not sure what they are trying to be, casual bar with dining or just an indoor space, but doesnt feel great. Such a shame as it is a great location, but wont spend $500 again on dinner for four again there.

Yelp
Our group of ladies enjoyed PP's Queen's Feast dinner tonight. The food was very good, the service was excellent, and the ambience made the experience quite enjoyable. Also, thanks to this restaurant's management for allowing separate checks. We'll definitely visit this restaurant again!

Yelp
There's something missing in what should otherwise be a slam dunk restaurant experience in an eatery that has great décor, ambiance and location. What's missing is common sense. I usually meet friends here when I'm in the area, and usually am the one to recommend the location. But things have just been spiraling every visit. The last visit, I was grossly overcharged. I'm not prone to exaggeration and don't use the term "grossly" lightly. Brought it to the attention to of the server, who looked like a deer in the headlights but eventually just shrugged like there was nothing that could be done about it. Pay very, very close attention to your tab, be sure you are getting what you ordered, and charged accordingly. And don't expect any follow up from management.

Yelp
We wanted to give this new restaurant a try. My wife and another couple went for dinner last Friday night. I ordered the filet and the other three ordered the highly recommended halibut dish. We were having a nice time visiting while we waited for our dishes. The wait was getting long when our server came out to apologize for the delay. He stated there was a problem in the kitchen and the food was coming out shortly. When the food did come out it was not very hot. The halibut was so over cooked, it was like a crunchy hash brown. My filet was not cooled like I requested but my baked potato was good. Our server did not make too many appearances after that and when he finally came by we informed him that the food was not acceptable. He said he would let them know in the back. The general manager did come over and comped our meals and apologized. We even were given desert on the house. We appreciated the general manager coming by and taking care of the meal. I hope it is growing pains. Service was a 2 star and food was a 1 star. I don't think we will be back.

Yelp
They ran out of the following Beer...Miller Lite, Coors Lite, Modelo, and Stella. They also ran out of Ketchup!!! Told the manager and was given excuses. We were told that the manager had already given his notice to quit. I do not recommend PP.

Yelp
Really amazing food. This is a hidden gem!!! Service was fabulous and ambiance is upscale and sophisticated. Been here a few times and always enjoy my meal. Fabulous dirty martinis (blue cheese olives!). Desserts are great!

Yelp
Highly disappointing is being kind. Ambiance definitely needs a refresh. Online menu did not resemble actual menu given with limited options. No specials. Oysters came out without cocktail forks and lemons. Calamari came out cool and without lemons. Four out of five dinners came out cool. They re-heated plates which dried out medium rare steaks and toughened the shrimp. Steak knives came out AFTER dinner served, no condiments offered for steak and fries. The steak was tough and flavorless. Pride in presentation and preparation were NOT apparent. This was a totally unremarkable experience for a $500.00 + dinner.

Yelp
Food had to be sent back. Overpriced crab cakes considering the quality of the food was subpar. Too much breading. Ordered a $50 dish that lacked all season so this was also sent back. Cocktails on the other hand were decent. Atmosphere is very nice and elegant. Had some guest come prior to our searing and as they sat at the bar, for 40 mins, they didn't receive any service. The ma trade did accommodate us with an apology and served our table a nice bottle of champagne, however, still didn't make up for the quality of food and service prior to seating and thereafter. The waitress was subpar as well, so overall, not an experience that would bring me back to try them again. Prices of the food should match the service quality and ambiance, however, this was a huge miss for a table of 5.

Yelp
I have been there twice in the last couple weeks and lets say it is is hit or miss. Once for an event my company held, and last night. The company event was and evening of appetizers etc. Most of them just so so, and lacked flavor. There was nothing to make me say, "I must have again if this on the menu". The menu is eclectic and offers many options. Sadly for me the food just fell short. My app was the confit duck spring rolls, nothing to see here IMO. I ordered clams with pork belly, while the broth was the star of the dish, the potatoes in the dish do nothing for the dish at all and the clams were overcooked. The broth would be great in a lentil soup, the pork belly was underwhelming and lacked flavor. While our group is great for tasting each others dish I can mention the Caesar salad missed the mark. It lacked acid. The risotto was good and the portion was HUGE. The steak was ordered med rare part of it was rare. The wedge salad was good-basic, and again a generous size. The truffle fries were fantastic and would be the only thing I would order again. The presentation of the food is beautiful, our server was very good, she gets 5 stars. I have always loved the atmosphere of this place even when it was Alton's. It is still a beautiful place. For the price of the food I expect better. Before you get bitter about my review I will mention I went to culinary school myself, so I do have a working knowledge of the food industry. Personally, I would never Beat Bobby Flay, but I can hold my own.

Yelp
Delicious & home made fresh. Halibut & Gnocchi were both great, the limoncello sponge was light & Kaitlyn was a wonderful server. Thanks Chef Bryan!
