I had quite a delightful lunch here. The sushi was very good and I also got a swordfish sandwich which was very good. There's a water station which is very convenient. The sushi chefs are very friendly. I will definitely be coming here again!

I give Pittsburgh a hard time for its (let’s be honest) underwhelming food scene, especially coming from someone who’s lived in a big city like Chicago her whole life and spent plenty of time eating my way through NYC, LA, and Vegas. My two years living here were rough in the culinary department… but leave it to me to move out of Pittsburgh before discovering its hidden gem: Penn Ave Fish Co. I was back in town for an appointment and to catch up with a close friend and finally tried this place and WOW. Easily the best meal I’ve had in Pittsburgh by far. The sushi, oysters, and seafood overall were the freshest I’ve found in the area (and most affordable on top of that). They don’t serve alcohol, but the staff went out of their way to let me know it was BYOB (I had no idea) and even helped direct us to the nearest liquor store so we could grab a bottle of wine to enjoy on the patio. Huge bonus: they brought out smoked salmon for our pups, totally on the house 🐾💛 We might’ve overstayed our welcome (they closed at 4 and we didn’t head out till about 4:30), but the staff was beyond kind. They never rushed us, just let us enjoy the food and the moment. Next time I’m in Pittsburgh, Penn Ave Fish Co is without a doubt where I’ll be spending my time. A true standout in a city that really needs one.

Google
super casual experience- you order at the window, self serve your drink and soup choices. They bring your order to your table and you pay after. I did ask if the blue crab soup was a bisque.... it wasn't, it was pasta e fagole, so i went for clam chowder instead (I'm not a soup person unless it's a cream base cause I'm weird.) The clam chowder was good. Big chunks of celery that i could easily pick out, thankfully. The sushi "lollipops" were delicious. I could eat a dozen of those things... but it was a perfect light lunch. this place had so much charm, and tons of options. thanks!!

Google
Best sushi I had in Pittsburgh. Not too pricey for the quality you are getting!!! I had the salmon belly, tuna roll, and oysters. All out of this world. I love the atmosphere of this place. I ordered, found a table and was able to watch them scratch make my sushi within minutes. Amazing service. I also love the semi self serve aspect they do, you can order anything, however many times you want at a counter, grab your own soup and drinks and then pay at the counter after you’re finished. I highly recommend for seafood lovers. Will most definitely be back.

Google
Pleasant surprise in the strip. Easy going atmosphere a wide selection of fish based meals. The sandwich selection features new looks at time honored fish sandwiches. I had the teriyaki glazed tuna sandwich served with slaw. Seared to perfection and moist yet firm. Tremendous flavour and texture. There were three choices for bowls: chili, gumbo and shrimp/scallop bisque. The bisque was very good. Prices were very reasonable and service is fast. Highly recommend.

This restaurant has really fresh fish & seafood, great service, beautiful plating and we love the concept of the fishshop next to the restaurant. The self serve soups that you can try out were very nice too. We wanted to give this restaurant a 5 but there were a couple of dishes that were a bit of a letdown even though the produce was fresh. The dishes we loved were the benny roll, the seared ahi tuna, the grilled octopus & the fresh raw oysters. The unagi nigiri was subpar, and the spicy yellow tail roll was good but not great. The biggest letdown unfortunately was the main, which was the blackened snapper. Snapper portions were quite small for the price, underseasoned and could be better spiced, and dried out. Luckily the fish was fresh and so it was still edible. The asparagus & seaweed salad that came with were tasty, but the sauces we didn’t enjoy. We would definitely want to return to this spot if ever in Pittsburgh again to try out other things!

A foodie’s very satisfactory, Bona Fide exclusively fish/shellfish eatery in Pittsburgh 😎. NO MAMMALIAN NOR AVIAN foods here… None of those highly processed plant-based foods either 👍👍👍👍👍. +++ A draw to this place is also a market of a SELECT variety of fish and shellfish, which are cleaned/cut according to instructions of the customer👏👏👏… YES fish is fresh.. the very transparent fish eyes👀 prove it. The eatery itself is SELF-SERVICE, food ordered at the counter by the entrance. The ambience is quite pleasant 😎. The menu, printed on chalk boards, is mainly sandwich and “raw fish”, with a few cooked fish/shellfish.—- They are on pricey side! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 The fish soup counter is quite surprising. The MOST NOVEL is the Chili with a pescatarian twist. 🤩 The “sashimi” plate is very good… —— EXCEPT for that fake crab that should NEVER EVER be served calling it sashimi😡😡😡😡😡. —- This, quite frankly, is a culinary slur whether it’s American or Japanese raw fish eatery. 🫤😡🫤😡🫤 Seeing the “sushi rolls” served to the adjoining table, I can say, it’s not what I would order here: Too thick layers of rice and they are drowned in sauces. — Real sushi is simple, clean and fresh! None of those sauces that hide the flavor of fish. … I for one want my palate distinguish between tuna, salmon, eel or whatever! — BTW there is no such thing as vegan or vegetable sushi. It is ALWAYS fish. 😊 The Salad Bowl is very good, fresh cuts of vegetables, not from bag like so many other places. - The option of adding cooked fish or shellfish is a good touch BUT the sizes of it, is NOT worth $15 extra. Because it is a self-serve eatery, the wait staff simply bring the food and take away emptied plates.

AMAZING Resturant for seafood with plenty of options. Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Our favorite was the grilled salmon and seared tuna. Salmon 🍣 sushi was good So was the California roll Oysters were fresh 👍🏼 Will definitely be back.

Yelp
It's really busy on the weekends with open seating. You order at the counter. Drinks and soups are self serve. The restaurant is also BYOB. The restaurant is clean and the staff is efficient. This is a good casual place to bring friends and family. For food, I love their oysters. The virginia oysters are super briney, which is a preference of mine. I also recommend their crab cake sandwich and the scallop pizza, which is extremely shareable. Overall, great experience and I will return again!

Yelp
We used to come more consistently a little over a year ago. It used to be really satisfying. We were craving sushi for my partner's birthday meal. Im really sad that we regretted our choice. Am I missing something? It seemed like the serving size and presentation went downhill especially for the price. This time, I don't know, it was so underwhelming. The service was not great (even that busy). The staff seemed very uninterested. I had to go and ask for soy sauce and wasabi and bring it back to our table. We are actually a little sad because we used to leave this place feeling satisfied and this experience was the opposite. Looking at some of the other reviews, it looks like this is pretty consistent. Generally, we are very easygoing customers, we are easy to accommodate normally. I try to give local restaurants the benefit of the doubt, too. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Went there recently with a friend for lunch and really enjoyed it. We both got fish tacos - me: soft corn; her - hard corn. The fish mix was salmon, tuna, & swordfish, and HALLELUJAH, it wasn't breaded & deep fried! The flavors were quite good, including the crema and slaw. The woman at the register where you order (near the front door) warned us the salsa on the tacos was "a bit spicy," but I didn't get that at all. My friend really enjoyed her soup - a strange-sounding crab pumpkin soup. ‍ Great, energetic atmosphere but not loud - order, find your table, they bring you your food, THEN you pay. Odd, but fine. Sounds like they get a lot of large parties. The seafood can be purchased like a regular fish market, though it is eye-popping expensive. The lunch food seemed pretty reasonably priced, though. Definitely want to return and try the sushi.

Yelp
I'm already wanting to come back here!!! The quality and the freshness of the fish here is unreal. I got a spicy salmon roll, and the pieces of salmon they put in there were HUGE! Such a generous piece of fish!! I also got the crazy tuna roll and sexy senortia (I loved the cilantro in here, definitely a unique touch and gave it a very refreshing flavor). The shrimp cocktail was so so so fresh and delicious. The rolls also came out super fast which was very nice! Penn Ave fish Company also has a fish market where you can buy sushi grade fish to bring home and make yourself!

Yelp
Great ambiance and loved my meal--the Miso Glazed Sea Bass. But what stood out the most was the friendly and accommodating staff. Shout out to the manager Sue and everyone we met. I'd highly recommend for a great meal and a wonderful experience.

Yelp
I came to this place because I had good reviews and everyone said I had good sushi which I was hesitant. So I went with fish of the day which was recommended and then as I walked around, I saw the soups that looked delicious and then all the fresh fish. I circled back and ordered sushi as well. The staff was very friendly very nice. When you come in you order and then you pay at the end which is crazy because coming from California, they don't do that. They check on you and then they come clean up after you and then you pay at the end. I definitely would come back. Food was good. Service was good fish was fresh. There was so many things I wanted to try. I was writing a bike around town so I didn't know where to park it because it was a city bike and they let me bring it in and watched it for me. I understand why it's rated so high.

Yelp
Came on a Tuesday over holiday break for the advertised "endless taco Tuesday" (all you can eat for $16). Counter service was a bit awkward for the concept as you wait in line each time you re-order. My table got cleaned when I got up to reorder and extra sauces saved were gone. But the food... Great value. Fish was fresh and nice heat. Slaw was creamy and soft shells charred nicely. Lacked a little salt and hard shells simply out of box. Some lime juice would really brighten it up. Overall good experience. Staff super friendly
google avatar

Rachael R.

Yelp
A great spot to get sushi and sashimi grade fish. I have been buying our tuna and salmon here to make homemade sushi for years. The staff are always very nice and helpful, and are willing to remove the skin for you if needed. The fish is always fresh and delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Part fish market, part seafood restaurant. It's a little confusing but you go in and order at the front, then grab a seat if you're staying to eat. The left side of the building is restaurant seating and the right hand is their fish market. Their menu is pretty extensive, but I opted for sushi the last time I was there. Both the shrimp tempura and spicy tuna rolls were good. Looking forward to trying some of their hot dishes next time.

Yelp
Open late now a few days during the week with a good selection of fresh fish and sushi for carryout. I place an order and by the time I walk from the homewood suites -- the food is ready. I live in Florida and their freshness is great for the Midwest. Crab cakes are my favorite although they do offer to add cheese which is a little different. I order without the cheese.

Yelp
Hell Ya this place is amazing... You want fresh fish this is the place. Taco Tuesday is awesome...

Yelp
We loved Penn Ave Fish Company, we're just visiting from Wisconsin and originally came to the strip area to check out S&D Polish Deli which was awesome. We decided to check out the fish company too, best decision ever!! The service was so friendly the woman at the front (forgot to grab her name) was incredible! She even gave our dog some pieces of salmon :) got the tuna melt and seafood gumbo both were good! Tried the kombucha on tap and it was great. Loved the efficient self service and open environment! We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Most people walk past this gem in the strip district. Casual spot for Sushi and take home fresh fish. Wife and I stopped Saturday for $1 oysters that starts at 3pm. Freshest we've had in Pittsburgh. The sushi handrolls are my favorite anywhere. Did I mention it's also BYOB. ($5 cork fee which is reasonable ) We stop at the wine and spirits store in Terminal have them chill the bottle quick walk over to Penn Ave to enjoy late lunch.

Yelp
I wanted to love it here. I've heard so many phenomenal things. The biggest thing for me is that I was treated pretty rudely. I walked in and walked over to the seating side. I hear an almost screaming "you need to order at the counter and it will be brought to you." Could have said it nicely. But then a couple walked in a few minutes after I did, were directed to a table, handed menus and there order was taken at the table, not the counter. So apparently they choose who is worthy of table service? A friend raved about their soups, specifically a watermelon gazpacho so I asked what today's soups were. The girl at the counter rudely said "I don't know, you can just look for yourself right over there." Which, again, could have been said kindly. Once seated, I saw her bring water to all the other tables when they sat. I asked if I could have water and she said "there is bottled water in the cooler". I said could I just get the cup of water like the others and she said "ugh I guess so." I ordered a poke bowl and served myself to a gazpacho. The poke bowl arrived quickly and was a nice size. I just wish there was more rice and fish (it was mostly lettuce). That being said the fish tasted fresh and the sauce that they use is full of flavor. If it wasn't for the rudeness of the staff (towards me but seemingly no one else) I would have given it four stars. There is zero excuse to treat one patron completely differently then the others.

Yelp
It's a wee bit chaotic when you come here, especially during lunch time. You have to order at the counter and then move over to the right to pay when your food is ready. There is ample seating but I was confused if it was self service and you ordered and picked up your food and sat wherever or they bring your food to you. There's indoor and outdoor seating which was nice. I really love the soups here. It's the kind of soups you don't normally find in restaurants and the soups are sooo good! They are definitely made from scratch. I had the mushroom bisque and haddock and it was chefs kiss. Definitely will be back for soup!! I only had a salmon roll so I didn't try a lot of the sushi, but it was fresh albeit a little small. Overall, this is a great spot for lunch! Definitely recommend coming here and hanging out around the strip. This place is also a market too and you can buy fresh fish.

Yelp
First time calling in a pick up order, and the young woman who answered the phone was so pleasant and helpful. The ambiance is unique and appropriate for the menu selection. The seafood is some of the best I've had in the city.
google avatar

Philip V.

Yelp
I kind of want to give this a mixed review, we had sushi when we were there. The sushi for the area of Pittsburgh is 4 stars, but the service was only 3 stars. Not a very comfortable place for dining, kind of loud, hard seats and it's not very warm or inviting on the other hand it has lots of nice seafood for sale if you want to take stuff home They seem to have a lot of rules about what you can eat, where you can eat and where you can sit... also the day we were there on a Saturday, their fryer was broken. I might go back to buy seafood but not to go dining. As it was not a great experience .
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
I've tried this place twice now, and I've been disappointed each time. During my last visit, I ordered the Sashimi Platter E. I was supposed to get 3 of each fish, but I only received 2 of the octopus. In addition to that, the fish didn't have a ton of flavor and one piece of the tuna tasted partially frozen. They use fake wasabi as well, which was a bummer. The service is also non existent. You order at the register, grab your own drink if you want one, seat yourself, pay at the register, etc. Yet you're still put in the awkward position and asked for a tip at the end. If you want fresh and high quality fish (often imported from Japan), spectacular service, and a clean and sleek interior, check out Mola in East Liberty. That place never fails to disappoint.

Yelp
Loyal consistent customer VERY DISAPPOINTED. Third time in1 year my seafood was spoiled. Today bought 12 little neck and 12 cherry stone clams. Not one clam opened. Half of the mussels did not open.
google avatar

Neli R.

Yelp
Love this little place! Sushi is fresh and it's BYOB!!!! Service us good and customers are nice. This is the 3rd time I come here and it never disappoints. I had the gumbo the other day and it was also good.
google avatar

Grace K.

Yelp
This has got to be the freshest fish in all of Pittsburgh! Loved the cool atmosphere of the fish market right there! Everything was reasonably priced I'd say. Loved the variety of sea food options. Raw oysters are only served until 5 apparently! The one negative thing I'll say is that the staff was less than friendly and were almost intimidating and irritated.

Yelp
Should a review be solely on the food or the overall experience... My wife and I were in the Strip district recently and needed a dinner spot before a concert across the river, and Penn ave. Fish caught our eye on our trusty Yelp App. We got there for an early dinner, around 5:30, and must have beat the dinner crowd since there were only 2 other tables occupied at this time. At Penn ave. you order from the front receptionist area adjacent to the fish market side and then the receptionist\waitress brings you your order. I was a little miffed when I found out the soup kettles were all scraping the bottom close to empty before the dinner service, so that kinda tarnished my review in my head right away. We sat inside in front of the sushi bar where the two sushi chefs seemed to control all the restaurant operations from. We did order a few things from the sushi bar and those came out quickly and were delivered to our table very promptly. I ordered a Unagi bowl and what I got was basically a deconstructed eel roll in a bowl. All the sushi items were very tasty and fresh including my wife's rolls. I also ordered the miso sea bass dinner which tasted absolutely fantastic. The fish was perfectly cooked, so bouncy and moist with just the right amount of sweet miso glaze sitting next to a scoop of steamed rice and a portion of steamed vegetables and they too were also cooked perfectly (don't tell my wife but I loved the vegetable medley) . Overall at this point our experience was mostly positive, sure I wasn't happy about the lack of soup available at dinner service, and I thought the prices were just a bit high for what you got portion sized. My biggest issue came at the end of dinner when my wife and I were reflecting on our meal when I saw a mouse run across the dining room and under the sushi bar area. I immediately pointed it out to my unbelieving wife and just then it came back out and proceeded to run out to the front of the dining area under another table of customers. My wife and I had to do a double take to make sure we saw what we saw, and after a few awkward moments the other table confirmed our sighting as well. We tried to get a hold of the sushi chef in front of us (the other was in back somewhere) but we could not get his attention since he was on his cell phone the whole time there. I did mention it to our waitress as soon as i saw her again and she just laughed it off and she also joked about it a bit (apparently this happens all the time). My wife then went to the ladies room and found it in dire need of a proper cleaning. and as we left for the night my eyes were dialed in to the dining room deficiencies upon seeing a couple holes in the walls at floor level. With all this it was something that I could not forget or forgive, no matter what excuse you want to use, vermin infestation is no joking matter and though our meals were good I could not help but wonder what condition the kitchen is in, Aloha

Yelp
Penn Ave Fish Co has some of the freshest fish in the city! This spot doubles as a fish market and restaurant. You can order at the counter for dining in/to go and then find a table & pay when you're finished back at the counter. We split the Philly roll which was one of the best I've had! They don't skimp on the filling at all. I had the fish tacos & they were really good but messy lol. My partner had the cod sandwich and really enjoyed it, the fish was lightly breaded and the ciabatta bun was awesome. It came with chips and coleslaw. The service was really fast considering it was a busy Monday during lunch time. Love this spot & definitely will be back!

Yelp
AMAZING Resturant for seafood with plenty of options. Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Our favorite was the grilled salmon and seared tuna. Salmon sushi was good So was the California roll Oysters were fresh Will definitely be back.

Yelp
These men & women know exactly how to provide you with what you want . I can't say enough about the selection of fish , being a Chef this is my go to place ! Keep kickin ass !! See ya soon

Jay F.

Yelp
One of my all time favorites. The salad with your choice of fish is always a treat. And the sushi is quite wonderful. The people who own the place and the ones who work there are always so nice. I love going to PAFCO. Pittsburghers make such a big deal about Wholey's. This place, ehhh, it makes think, "Wholey's WHO?"
google avatar

Trish L.

Yelp
Nice spot for a quick lunch! I was hoping for lobster bisque, but they were out by the time we showed up at 2pm on a Saturday. I opted for a cup of the clam chowder and was not disappointed! Great flavor, huge chunks of clam and potato, perfect temperature. I also had 2 of the fish tacos. I thought they were just ok! The presentation and portion size were great, but the tacos were lacking flavor. I wish there was some kind of spicy sauce or salsa or anything really. My dad loved the captain's sandwich and said the seasonings used in the lobster salad were 3/10 spicy, but had great flavor. My brother asked for battered cod with chips (he didn't want a sandwich) and said he thought the cod was crispy, but also bland. They have hot sauce and ketchup on the table, but no malt vinegar, which was what he was looking for. The staff was friendly and quick to take our order and clean up our plates when we were finished. The bathroom was small, a little dark, a little warm, but clean.

Yelp
I don't know how I've never been here before but now I definitely know I'll be back ASAP. Everything was just excellent. We went to get fresh scallops for dinner the next day and the service was SO friendly. Fast forward to cooking them the next day -they were incredible!! As good as they were at the beach a month or so ago. Okay back to the store: while we were there we decided to get some lunch and sit outside on the beautiful and sunny day. The food came out so fast and the people at that side of the store were so friendly too! They didn't know this but we were there picking up for Fathers Day and just lost my Grandfather so the kindness was quite welcome. Again, we will be back!

Yelp
Delicious seafood! I had oysters on the half shell. So fresh! I also had a lobster roll. So good! Great service. Nice ambiance.

Nick C.

Yelp
Wow! Sushi apps and main course were awesome. Main course was sea bass and crab cake sandwich. One Side salad with ginger dressing was enough for two. BYOB ! Do you want awesome fresh seafood in a casual atmosphere ? This is your place. Apps and dinner for two and BYOB was 98$ not including tip.
google avatar

Dante M.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I joined two of our friends here for lunch because they had spent the semester working on process improvement projects for them! It was my first time here, and I was in awe of the freshness of the seafood! I had the seafood gumbo, which is a self serve station towards the front, and ordered three fish tacos that were served with a delicious sauce! The food quality here was really good, and it came out super quickly! Definitely recommend this place if you're in the strip district and need a quick lunch, or you're looking to buy some seafood to bring home and cook!

Yelp
I stopped in to Penn Ave on my first visit to Pittsburgh. It was a solid casual spot for lunch. We ordered some sushi and drinks and ate in the table area which was juxtaposed to the sales floor of the seafood market. It's a cool concept and everything looked fresh. You order from the counter but the food is delivered to the table of your choosing. They had a lot of options on the menu including soups. I could see myself having lunch a few times a week there. They also seemed pet friendly. My only issue was that the tables didn't seem to get cleared, cleaned and sanitized quickly enough. I'm not sure if that was a staffing issue or an operational issue. The place is still worth a visit though.

Michael W.

Yelp
Henry and Angela have saved Pittsburgh from the loss of Bankovitz Saefood other than the flawless fish sandwich the fish market at Penn Avenue is the best in town The food is also very good in fact as good as any seafood in Pittsburgh the atmosphere is spartan however the quality makes up for its limited hours pretty much a lunch deal

C B.

Yelp
The premise of fresh seafood was appealing. Made to order sushi was a nice surprise. But two orders of the same thing were presented very differently - likely from two different sushi chefs. The Sneaky Pete sandwich premise was intriguing, but the delivery fell short. Although I must admit the bread was outstanding. When ordering, the staff seemed bored and didn't offer any helpful tips for first timers like stating that water was available in next room, which left us with impression that we had to purchase drinks. A bit annoying. Glad we tried it, but we won't be back.
google avatar

Lindsay S.

Yelp
So much GOOD food for your money! Visiting Pittsburgh and this was our first meal here. We could decide on just one thing so we decided to split our meals. We tried the crab melt and the tuna melt. I thought that the crab milt would be the obvious winner between the two, but I still can't make up my mind. The tuna melt, which came open faced, was so flavorful! It was just as good as the crab. Both had very generous portions. It's going to be hard to top this meal while we are here
google avatar

Taylor B.

Yelp
Service was great. Talya was such an angel.... Sushi was alright. Not the best, not the worst. It satiated my craving. However, the oysters were great and this was a solid little spot to pop in, no wait
google avatar

Paul B.

Yelp
Freshest fish in Pittsburgh. Bought 2 lbs of King Ora Salmon which had beautiful marbling and were absolutely delicious grilled for 3 minutes a side and hit with teriyaki sauce.

Daniel F.

Yelp
Simply the best There is no comparison to the service and quality of the product I have purchased seafood professionally and privately for over 45 years there is no peer to what Penn Avenue Fish Company offers
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Chirashi. That's all. Just kidding -- Penn Ave offers dozens of seafood dishes, but their sushi definitely takes first place. The chirashi bowl had some of the freshest sashimi I've ever eaten, and the rice was cooked to perfection. Quick and friendly service with a unique ordering system: you place an order when you walk in, find a seat, eat when the food's delivered to you, and pay as you walk out. Half of the building is a dining area, and the other half is a small marketplace. Definitely plan on coming back to explore both the market and the menu!

Yelp
Stopped in for a break after a walking the strip with friends who were visiting. Timing was great, as they had $1 oysters for happy hour. Staff was great and it was a nice snack with a cold beverage. Also had some sushi rolls. The AC was out which was a bit of a bummer, but I like the chill environment. Plenty of seating for our party of four.
google avatar

Tuyet H.

Yelp
We had sushi for lunch and it was great. I can't wait to come back and check out this oyster happy hour.

Yelp
If you're looking for sushi grade fish, look no more! I'm so excited to find high quality fishes at a reasonable price. I'll let the picture speak for itself. For my sushi night, I made salmon sashimi and tuna tataki. Bonus: Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Kelley T.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the freshly made sushi and soups. Visiting from out of town and will return when visiting again. Be patient with the service, not long, but it well work the wait. Enjoyed poking for spices etc. while we waited for our meal.

Yelp
I was a little confused on arrival as this is a market and a restaurant. It seemed like sometimes you order at the counter but we were able to be seated and ordered at our table. To get drinks besides water or BYOB you can get up and go to their cooler. I wish it was just a little clearer about the ordering/sitting process when you come in. The food was delicious & freshest seafood! Our waitress recommended the benny roll and it was very good. Also had the california tuna sandwich and the tuna was amazing.

Yelp
Penn Ave Fish Company is a great casual restaurant with extremely fresh seafood. We popped in for a quick lunch and we're definitely impressed with the size of the menu. We tried a daily special and the Cali tuna sandwich plus a cup of soup. Everything tasted fantastic! In addition to the restaurant is there is an area to buy fresh fish, a few deli type side salads, and select grocery items.

Yelp
Ordered Red Snapper for Pick up on 12/23. We arrived and the order was not ready. 45 minutes later the order was 'finished'. But wait, there's more... the slip for the fish said 'leave scales on'. When questioned Henry was rudely adamant it was ordered with scales on and he was too busy to take the scales off , we should do it ourselves. I suggested that may not be the best approach with a 93 year old and he stormed off with the fish. When he came back he castigated us for exploiting a mother's age. When we started to prep the fish this morning, guess what we did??? We DESCALED it. Thanks Henry for a lousy job. We are going to find a new fish company.

Yelp
Situated in the heart of the strip district the Penn Ave Fish Company is the perfect spot to grab fresh sushi and seafood daily. Whether I'm the mood for a quick bite or taking the time for dinner this is one spot that doesn't disappoint. The sushi is super fresh and tasty and they have soups and seafood gumbo specials as well. Be sure to get there at a decent hour as they do close at 8pm, and enjoy all the different variations of sushi! You'll thank me later it does not disappoint!!

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick snack. The sushi rolls were fresh with a good fish-to-rice ratio. It was pretty busy for a Monday afternoon but our order came out quickly. If sushi isn't your thing, there's also sandwiches & other options available. I'd probably try out one of the sandwiches next time but would still order sushi anyway. After the fact, I read about an Oyster Happy Hour - say what? Wish I didn't miss out on that. It's a pretty casual set up where you order at the counter, find a seat & your food is brought to your table. Whenever you're done you return to the counter to pay. You aren't given a ticket or anything so you just tell the cashier what you ate. TIPS: - If you don't care for the "aroma" of fresh fish you're better off sitting in the adjacent room where there's tons more tables available anyway. - Parking: There's a lot next door or parallel parking along Penn Avenue - Location: Near the intersection of 22nd St & Penn Avenue (next door to S&D Polish Deli)

Yelp
This is really a three and half star rating, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't go - just know what you are in for. Perfect place for lunch, or, I imagine, a BYOB happy hour with oysters. We did the former, and it was a pretty good lunch. You order from the counter from the somewhat surly server, but the food is delivered quickly, and depending on who is serving, sometimes with a smile. Sushi was meh - gluey rice, chewy eel, not the freshest fish. Calamari was delish, and the lobster bisque was good, too.
