Hands down, one of the best experiences we've ever had! Dave was an absolute rockstar—he made everything feel personal and special. He knew everyone’s name and took the time to answer all my nerdy, science-filled questions with so much detail and enthusiasm. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better guide. The customer service? Next level. Keshia, Jim, and Travis were all super friendly, approachable, and made sure every part of our trip went smoothly. Their suggestions for the next steps of our journey were spot-on and helped make the entire experience unforgettable. It’s been 3 years since we visited, and we still can’t stop talking about it. If you’re looking for a place that goes above and beyond, this is it. Don’t hesitate to book—we highly recommend it!

Google
Awesome experience with Jim! My husband and I did the single barrel deep dive. He explained everything thoroughly, as well as kept us laughing the entire time! It was absolutely amazing learning all about Whiskey! So many new facts I cannot wait to tell my friends about. You can tell Jim is very passionate about what he does and it shows through the way he treated us during our tour! I cannot wait to book again! Well worth it!

Lynne H.

Google
We had such a great time trying and blending bourbons and Ryes. The staff is super friendly and informative. Highly recommend! We did the small group blending class and tour. Was a two hour session and learned so much. The bottle is also etched with your name, super cool!

Joan M.

Google
We had an amazing experience at Pennington Distillery, thanks to our guide Jim. He was incredibly knowledgeable and made the entire tour educational and enjoyable. Jim took the time to explain the distillation process in great detail, answering all of our questions with patience and enthusiasm. His passion for the craft really showed, and we left with a much deeper appreciation for the art of distilling and whiskey. If you’re looking to learn and have a great time, I highly recommend taking a tour with Jim!

Google
Got the 11:00 tour right when they opened, and we were the only ones, so it was a nice private tour. Beautiful space, great people and delicious product. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.

Google
Jim took us through the distillery and dropped continuous gems throughout our entire tour! We could have easily spent another hour talking about blends and aging processes. Well worth your time!! (Even worth a flight !)

Dale J.

Google
The Blend your own experience was Amazing! Worth every penny. Chris was very knowledgeable, he knows his stuff. I can tell he was very passionate about his craft. Would definitely come back again. 10/10

While in Nashville with my husband for a conference, I got to head over to Paddington distillery for a private whiskey, blending session! Our host and guide, Kris, was excellent. He helped walk us through all the different facets to choosing three great bourbons to blend together into our own custom mix. From helping us identify which bourbons were good bases, finishes, etc. to teaching us about the history of bourbon in the Nashville area, he taught us so much about the spirit we were working with that I cans away more knowledgeable than I was expecting. They brought in fantastic lunch from Hattie B’s, and then took us on a great tour to explain. The process of how bourbon is actually distilled, how the barrel affects the color and flavor of the bourbon and how Nashville’s climate effects the aging process as the spirit sits in the barrel. If you have a chance to participate in this experience, jump on it! You might even get to come home with a bottle of your custom blend with your name laser etched on the side. What a treat and a fantastic souvenir!

Yelp
I've been here twice and loved it! One time I brought my family to do the tour and tastings. So informational and the tastings were all awesome. They have so many different beverages to choose from and a really informed staff. I went to Sip in your zip with a friend and got to explore the distillery again in a different light. This is a great venue for small markets - I hope they do more like this!
google avatar

Lee S.

Yelp
My biggest concern was the parking, but it could've been my unfamiliarity with the area as much as anything. I enjoyed the spacious area as well as the opportunity to indulge reasoning for visit whether a tour or just to sip indigenous spirits. Service was excellent from the tour guides to the bar. They sell merchandise and have samples aplenty. I greatly appreciated the detail in describing the difference in flavors. I'm definitely going back and you should too!

Yelp
I don't just give Five Stars, a place has to really earn it. Whiskey is personal and although we really enjoyed their flavors who knows other people's thoughts. I will say if you are looking for a fun experience, then you need to stop by for a couple of hours and do the "Blend Your Own Bottle" experience. It is awesome. Jim our host and the team are great, entertaining and super informative. We learned a little about their whiskey and the overall experience was fabulous. Plus you get a bottle with your name on it, your friends will be super jealous when you show them that bottle. We really recommend this for a nice date as well as you learn a little about each other. We will do this again on my next Nashville trip.

Yelp
We went here on a spit of the moment. Even after going through the JD tour, we still learned additional facts about the distilling process. The history of the company is cool. Our guide, Amanda, was very personable and made us feel welcome. Great variety of whiskey, vodka, and creams. They are also getting into gin.

Yelp
Spoiler alert! If you are in the area and enjoy a good rye or mash whiskey then schedule a tour and tasting you will not be disappointed. We showed up for our Thursday tour on Tuesday because someone had a senior moment (me). Once we realized we were a "tad" early Chris accommodated us with a private tour and tasting. Chris was a great subject matter expert who took us through the entire distilling process. This is an active manufacturing site so you get to see the bottling process up close, step over hoses, and are smacked in the face with all the wonderful smells of a working distillery. Out tasting session was off the charts. Their Davidson Reserve straight bourbon whiskey was my favorite. This single barrel whiskey drinks wonderfully straight up or add a single drop of water to change its complexity. Like surprises, then ask for a tasting of their Walton's vodka. There is a cool story regarding the how and why they are producing this vodka. This vodka is as smooth as could be and would make a wonderful dry martini. Surprise number two, Tennessee Sipping Cream is their version of Bailey's Irish Cream. It is made with 100% aged Tennessee Whiskey & real dairy cream. If you like Bailey's you will love this Irish Creme. Here's the bad news their offerings are not available in Texas yet. Great folks with a wonderful 5 star lineup.

Yelp
Ross gave an awesome and informative tour. The tastings were pretty good too...especially the Walton's vodka!

Yelp
Small. Stinky. Awesome. I really love smaller distilleries like Pennington, you really get a feel for how much work goes into each bottle. During our tour, we got see how everything is being made and mixed. No huge corporate funding, just good old fashioned hard work. You can just come in and have a drink or a few samples, but I highly recommend taking the tour. You get up close and personal with vats of boiling rye, a history lesson on the distillery and, if you're lucky, get to taste some of their product right from the source. Pennington makes one of my fave local vodka, Pickers, and I got to sample some right out of the still. Yowza, my face was on fire! After the tour, you head to the bar and get sample what ever you want. Whiskey, bourbon, vodka, seltzers, anything they produce in house. They also have "you create it" tour where you get to blend your own bottle and bring it home. It's a little pricey, but I definitely want to try it!
google avatar

Christie B.

Yelp
This is a very interesting and special place in Nashville! I recently had the privilege of touring the facility and trying some of their products. I had so much fun and learned some interesting facts about the production process. Thank you so much for a fun evening!
google avatar

Yelp
David gave me & my family an awesome tour the day before Thanksgiving. He was very informative, generous, and knowledgeable. We tasted the majority of the whiskies, and they're awesome! Anticipating cracking open our bottle for the holidays! Until next time...cheers!
google avatar

Yelp
Great tour, great owners, great tour to a small (but mighty) batch operation of a distillery. They carry all their Picker's line stuff in addtion to their vodka with their bourbon selection. Did this during the heat of summer with some great people for my birthday and they treated us well and stayed punctual as their schedule loads up fairly quick during the day so make yourself a reservation. There's fat bottom brewery next door which is great to change up the venue afterwards as well so there's plenty to do while you're in this area and not too far from food halls and restaurants off of Charlotte and 51st so make it a thing to come out to this distillery.

Yelp
Went to a "Blend your Own Bottle" experience tonight and had a great time. We smelled, tasted, rated, drank and blended to our hearts content. Loved it. They provided lite bites and training, the whole staff was present and happily participating. We felt warmly welcomed and even appreciated as participants. The master distiller, Carter, was with us every step of the way. Made our favorite blends of either whiskey, bourbon or Rye and got to take home a bottle. What a fun time! We really enjoyed it. If whiskey or Bourbon is your thing, try it it is well worth the price! . Really highly recommended

Stephen H.

Yelp
This place is fantastic- a highlight of our Nashville trip. Take the time for this and do it right - do the tour and do the blending. I learned more about bourbon and whisky in an hour than I ever have before, and now taste whisky with a far better appreciation. Shoutout to Jim- thank you. He mixed the best old fashioned I've ever had. Great guides here with a real love of the process and how distilling fits into Tennessee history. And the setting is super - seems to be an old hanger. It's just down the street from Fat Bottom brewery.

Yelp
Whiskey? Vodka? Science? If any or all of those things sound fun this is a great Nashville find. 1. Tasting is great. Your choice and nice portions. 2. Tour is better. Short and interesting, not overwhelming or so long you wish you hadn't done it. 3. People. Excellent folks in this family owned business - men AND women doing the heavy lifting, mixing, and serving here. Great place for women to see other women in this business! Girl power! We had a great time and will be back, especially on nice afternoons when company is in town and your tired of the same old same. Great Nashville hang!

Yelp
We went home with a fabulous bottle of single barrel rye! Words cannot express how good it is - was, because it's all gone now. My husband and I came in for a tasting (not a tour). When Jim saw the way our taste was leaning he offered us a taste from the barrel of rye being used in the next day's event. We had to wait and see if there was any left, but then we were able to go back and pick up our bottle of rye with our name engraved on it. Nice touch! Thanks, Jim! I'm considering going back to Nashville just to visit Pennington.

Yelp
The tour was great and informative and Jamie our guide was very knowledgeable and fun. The tasting was awesome and they have a really good selection to try from.

Yelp
The tour was great and enjoyed the sampling! everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable! will definitely recommend and be back!

Yelp
I have never toured a distillery. Haven't really thought about it until now, but it's . . . F'n AWESOME! Small joint. It's suggested that if you want to take a tasting tour you should book it on their website. Easy breezy. Reasonably priced. $14 tasting/tour. Parking might be an issue if more people were to visit, especially since it's located in a residential area. The attendant was knowledgeable and very friendly, fielding any and all questions from my son and I. Masks and social distancing are requested. We tasted and frankly enjoyed everything. We both walked out with WAY too much alcohol in our arms. My return flight to Hawaii might prove to be challenging.

Yelp
Wow, talk about a cool spot. I had the absolute pleasure of checking out Pennington distillery for a Yelp elite event, and can honestly say that I cannot wait to return. Every thing I sampled was incredible, but I especially recommend their canned cocktails- soooo yummy and refreshing. Their distillery tour was incredible, I learned so much about whiskey (and why TN is the Napa valley of whiskey!) and gained a new appreciation for distilleries in TN. Can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to go back!

Pat B.

Yelp
Stopped in on Sunday afternoon (although Yelp shows they are closed on Sunday). Asia hosted our tastings and was awesome!! She was knowledgeable, super friendly and really made our experience totally enjoyable. The Davidson whiskey and rye was excellent. Will definitely return and highly recommend!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great tour guide, great whiskey! Came here for part of a bachelor weekend and all the guys loved it! The space was open and comfortable and the staff really were great! I'd recommend to anyone!
google avatar

Yelp
When two ladies run the sample station you know you're in for a good tour. Family run distillery with a solid product. I enjoy a product when there's though that goes into the packaging. For instance their Pickers vodka bottle has a fret board on the bottle and the label resembles a ticket to the Ryman theater.... a homage to Nashville. Make sure you get to hear the Mrs. Butterworth's story.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
Came here as we are in town to visit our son. Did the tour with Chris and he was informative about their process and saw the entire facility. At the end my wife and I tasted some of the whiskey and decided to buy some along with some of their Pickers brand vodka drinks. They were polite and informative.

Brandon U.

Yelp
This is my first review ever on here and this place deserves all my praise. Our tour was amazing and probably one of the most informative tours i went on during my trip. The tour itself gave me a lot more respect and appreciation for whiskey. The tasting was great as well, if youre looking for whiskey that everyone can enjoy this is the place to get it. I personally got the Bottled in Bond Tennessee Whiskey and the Rye.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this place! We stopped in here for a tasting. We didn't have time for a tour but heard good things about this place in general. The ladies who work here were SO nice and helpful! They made the tasting so fun and enjoyable. The products sold themselves. Very smooth and so many great varieties to choose from. From Vodka, to Whiskey, to Bourbon, to mixed drinks. I loved that the flavored drinks were all made with real fruit. They tasted so fresh! I'm sad that they do not sell them in Indiana! I loved the Whisper Creek Peanut Butter Chocolate Sipping Cream--SO good in coffee! PLEASE check this place out if you are in Nashville! You will thank me for this one!

Yelp
Great place! Jeff was our guide and he was amazing! The rest of staff was helpful and so knowledgeable. Not to mention their products are excellent! 100% recommend
google avatar

Joy D.

Yelp
Fantastic tour! Learned a lot about whiskey & got an up-close experience with the small batch brewing process. The guide & staff were funny, entertaining & made the tour informative & we really felt we walked away with a world of knowledge! Walton's Vodka that we brought home is the BEST Vodka for the money! We also really enjoyed the Blueberry Vodka (great with Lemonade). We bought a variety of other sundries & liquors, too ( the peanut butter cream liquor is another fav)! A great place to come & learn, drink, have fun, and bring home some wonderful drinks & memories!
google avatar

Paulo D.

Yelp
Chris and their team were great. We enjoyed the tour and the samplings. They even gave us some vodka seltzers. Thanks for making our trip great.
google avatar

Yelp
Pennington Distilling Co. was a great place to get to tour at. Bonita did an awesome job, with the help of Shannon as well. This is a small place that only has a few employees, so don't show up expecting a Jack Daniel's caliber experience. Bonita explained everything we wanted to know about their process and took us through step-by-step. We appreciate small businesses like this with a great background and southern hospitality. If your in the Nashville area, make this your top distillery stop! Great folks.
google avatar

Joseph R.

Yelp
Had a great time with Jeff, he showed us the ins and outs of small business distilling. He was very knowledgeable and professional!
google avatar

S J.

Yelp
Went for a tasting and got to here about how they came about and tasted amazing whiskey! All of the staff was so kind and helpful

Pam K.

Yelp
What a way to kick off a Saturday!! Informative interesting and fun!! Guy from Louisiana who fishes in Topsail Island was a delight!! Will be looking for Walton's Vodka and Davidson Reserve when we get home!!!

Alice Ann N.

Yelp
We went to the BYOB event last night and had a fabulous time. Everyone there is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the whiskey business. All of them were so helpful to us and very patient. We are planning another trip. If you are a whiskey lover, or just getting started with whiskey, highly recommend, the information they share with you is extremely helpful.

Yelp
We live in Michigan and I picked up a bottle of Davidson Reserve Whiskey two years ago while we were vacationing in the Smokies. I'm a Brit and a single malt fan and rarely drink any American whiskeys, but I fell in love with the Davidson. Today, on vacation in Nashville, we realized we were near to the distillery, and decided we had to go and visit. We were the only couple on the tour and so it was really personal for us. Garret, our guide, was knowledgeable about the history of the company and an expert on the products and processes involved, and he made it all really interesting, even for my Mrs who is not a whiskey drinker. The tasting was relaxed and informative and we ended up leaving with three bottles of the amber nectar plus some other good stuff. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience here. The staff are all very friendly. Tuesday PM appointment made online. Was wearing my AFC Bournemouth hat and the fellow made me feel right at home! The tour is perfect in length and info. Very welcoming when you arrive and the finish is very nice with tastings. They make sure everyone gets what they wish immediately. Almost impossible not to leave without a bottle or two (Davidson Reserve Straight and Whisper coffee liquor). Could not recommend this more (went 8/24/21).

Kay B.

Yelp
Had a very interesting tour through the distillery yesterday. I chose Pennington because I love their Tennessee Sipping Whiskey. And the new flavors, Mocha & Pumpkin were delicious. Had a great time!
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
This distillery is small but worth the visit. We took a tour around the distillery and our tour guide was very nice and very informative. They are still waiting on the whiskey to be ready to come out of the barrel, their first batch will be ready in October, but their other products are really good and worth the trip.

Jamie S.

Yelp
My wife and I did the single barrel flight sampling and it was a great experience. Our host has a wealth of knowledge from early prohibition to the ins-and-outs of distilling whiskey. Highly recommended.

Mike A.

Yelp
We were on our way for a plantation tour and called Pennington Distilling to see if they could squeeze us in for a tasting. Chris got right back to us and was able to accommodate us. Very cool family owned place and the service was great. The bourbon, whiskey and creams were all fabulous. Bought a nice bottle of bourbon to take home and share with friends. Definitely worth a visit
google avatar

Marta K.

Yelp
This place is a real treat. Fantastic history meets bio-chemistry lesson from our brilliant guide Carter and delicious samples afterwards! The whisper creek whiskey cream is AMAZE-BALLS and the vodka was pretty tasty too. Highly recommend.

Jamie S.

Yelp
The tour was informative and entertaining. I learned a lot about the whole process and enjoyed the tasting immensely!

Yelp
We have been on the search for bourbon, whiskey, and scotch lately, and we were in the Nashville area and chose this distillery in particular. Why? It was away from downtown, and they had a good variety of spirits. We did a flight of all their offerings. We both liked the 100% rye, and we took home a bottle of the vodka, as it was the best tasting vodka we have found. Period. We did not do the tour, as we have done others, so we just wanted to try the goods. The staff were all great and answered all our questions.
google avatar

Guy G.

Yelp
This was an amazing tour. I have been on other distillery tours, but learned things on this one that I have never learned from the others. The guide was very personable and knowledgeable. The alcohols were were flavorful and reasonably priced. A great experience.

Jacqui G.

Yelp
Visited this distillery July 2021. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the tour, whiskey and service made it one of our favorite stops in town! The only distillery giving a full tour of the production, plus tasting at the end of tour. Nick our guide was great! Informative, entertaining, and generous with the tastings and service. The whiskey is a favorite of ours now! Glad we got an opportunity to taste and discover this distillery. I highly recommend!
google avatar

Mac N.

Yelp
Totally amazing and you walk in and you are in the whole place and right in the heart of their operation. The tour is not that long but also not super expensive which is good and get to try all you would like afterwards which is very generous. It is good and the people are super nice as well and the prices are not to bad in their gift shop depending on what you get.

Nick M.

Yelp
This place knows how to run the full distilling operation start to finish. The tour, sampling, atmosphere, and most of all products were all amazing. We even stopped by again the following day to get more to share with friends when we go home.

Constance B.

Yelp
We have been to many whiskey tastings, including in Scotland. this was the most personable, informative and great whiskey tasting we have had. Jeff and Chris were great! we did the single barrel tasting and it was incredible! only problem was we wanted to buy some! we will definitely be back with family. thank you for an incredible time!!!
google avatar

Emily N.

Yelp
This tour was one of the highlights of the trip! The ladies there made us feel right at home. They knew who we were when we came in and offered us beverages right away while we waited for the rest of the party. The tour was so informative and wonderful, yet laid back and fun. You got really up close with the process, the barrels, and the mash. The lovely guide answered all our questions eloquently and cheerfully. After the tour, we got more samples and they were not shy about letting us try everything. They were so hospitable and everything we tried was delicious! I cannot recommend this place enough! We went to another tour while in Nashville that was so disappointing compared to this one. Pennington was the best!!

Yelp
Enjoyed our visit. Left with a few items. Nothing more needs to be said. Go visit these folks.
