Google
The atmosphere is great. Very cozy. Coffee and chia were tasty. The food is somewhat pricey for what you get compared to other coffee shops but its a cute spot for a meet up with friends or dates.

Google
Good spot to get some work done. The space is airy with high ceilings, exposed brick, faux-botanical decor—a clear effort was made to create a welcoming spot to work. Espresso drinks are fine though not standout, and while the pastries don’t exactly tempt, the atmosphere makes up for it. Not necessarily a destination for coffee purists, but a dependable workspace with a good hum to it.

Ryann O.

Google
Got a vanilla latte with oatmilk and a chocolate croissant. Was good! I get a pretty basic order so nothing crazy. Super cute atmosphere. I will say that the girls behind the counter did seem like they didn’t want be at the counter or serving people. Otherwise they were quick and got to the point!

Google
Great coffee house with a hint of a Georgian influence. (They have some Georgian wines!) Great staff . Friendly atmosphere. Comfort seating, bright and clean. I had a breakfast sandwich on a delicious bagel. I think it could use a bit more egg and cheese, but tasty.

Google
This adorable coffee shop has great drinks, food, and pastries. My favorite drink is the Jade Sunset which is an iced matcha latte with mango syrup. My partner loves the bonfire latte (mocha latte with toasted marshmallow) 10/10 great place!

Shontayah R.

Google
Amazing hidden gem, I’m so glad we found this coffee shop. We ordered chicken shawarmas and they came with kettle cooked chips, a matcha latte. 😌 The wrap was so good, perfectly seasoned and cooked with fresh lettuce and tomato. 10/10 recommend

Google
I am a coffee/espresso fiend! I love the atmosphere of this place. I could hang out here all day. I just stopped by an hour ago, it was my third visit, and my last visit. Outside of the beautiful interior, everything else has been a disappointment. My first time there, I ordered a double espresso - I waited more than 10 minutes for it, and tossed it out after a few sips. The taste was exceptionally sour, and bitter. I figured it may have just been the beans that day. I stopped by again weeks later, took photos of the interior and ordered a coffee. Again, I waited, and waited - after 12 minutes (I checked the time), I got my coffee - took a few sips, and couldn't finish it. Now months later, I decided to go for a walk and find somewhere for breakfast - Google said Penny's was the only place open - so I thought I'd give it another try. I'm an optimist, and really want to enjoy this place so I could be a regular patron, since it's practically around the corner from where I live. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, and coffee. This time the coffee was not as bad as before, but still not good. The sandwich was the big disappointment this time. I got a bacon egg and cheese on sesame bagel - it was flavorless, down to the bland bacon. I really wanted to love this place - what a shame.

Google
To be honest it’s a rip off when it comes to the Breakfast sandwich. Living in NYC almost all my life I know what a breakfast sandwich looks like and is only 5 to $6 dollars… literally no egg and the thinnest patties .. very disappointing btw it’s $10 just for egg and sausage on a bagel … coffee is good tho

Yelp
This spot is so cozy and everytime I come back I think, "Man I wished I lived closer!" Penny's never disappoints when it comes to a chai latte and a snack. The service here is always fast and I have the best time. Whether I am here to work on my computer or meet up with a friend, there is always a nice table or window seat available. The wifi is great here too. If you need a new spot to camp out for some remote work with great food, amazing baristas, and a cozy feel, this is your new go-to.

Yelp
Super cozy cafe shoppe! I only got an iced coffee and raisin cookie but the quality was of the food and drink was 10/10 ! The cookie had a homemade crispy outside with a soft center. The iced coffee was beyond any coffee I've ever had... trust me as I've flown around the US for work and this was the best I've had. The gentleman working greeted me and was happy to assist with my order. A woman came out from the back to say hello. I will absolutely be back!

Yelp
It never disappoints! Was there last Saturday which was my second time! Such a fun atmosphere and really great staff. I had a decaf iced Americano and with the Barista's suggestion I tried it with Pistachio milk - GREAT idea! It was a game changer and absolutely delicious. I am a serious coffee snob especially with decaf as it can tend to be bitter - not this coffee -it was smooth and easy to drink and left me wanting more :) I was there with my knitting friends and we all agree we want to meet up there again soon. Give it a try - this place is a gem!

Yelp
First they confidently sent me home with roughly half my order, then when I came back I stood there for half an hour watching drinks get ordered and made and nobody even APPROACH the pick up window. I waited as patiently as possible and stared at the same two open bags remaining untouched for that whole half hour until I finally forced one of the girls to stop and tell me where the other half of my order was. It was, in fact, one of those two untouched bags and it was STILL missing a bakery item that they would've missed if I hadn't pointed out. Now the drink I got in my FIRST bag is undrinkable because it's been nearly 45 minutes since it was made!! VERY disappointed and won't be back.

Yelp
The perfect fusion of coffee shop and outdoor oasis. Brandon G., the local Yelp leader in Buffalo, suggested we work from here one morning while I was in town and it was the best suggestion ever. Locally owned and operated, this place has that special spark to it... The kind where you can see the passion and love that the owners have poured into it. The space itself is beautiful, with a ton of natural light, bright greenery, and even a little nook with a swing and a lovely photo opp. I ordered a latte and a croissant and busted out some work for a couple of hours. The wifi was strong, there was street parking out front, and the service was top notch. I honestly could have stayed here all day. I wouldn't hesitate to come back and I highly suggest you pay them a visit the next time you're looking to work out of the house or office and/or need a pick me up that only coffee can fix.

Yelp
Penny's is such a fun spot! Located right in the heart of the city, I like to stop here on my way to work occasionally or I stop in for a solo date with a book, and it's super cozy. My go to drink is always a latte with either caramel or vanilla, however I do switch up on what I get to eat. So far, I've tried a plain bagel toasted with butter, an everything bagel with cream cheese, their double chocolate chip muffin and their chocolate chip cookies. My favorite item? The plain bagel toasted with butter! I don't know how they get the butter to soak so perfectly into the bagel, but oh my goodness, it's amazing. The employees are always super friendly and I think it's just a great spot to kick off your day. Plus, it's so cute inside that you can take some really fun photos.

Yelp
The sugar free Carmel latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon was great. The espresso was rich and smooth. Came back the next day to order food and kill some time. That's when I discovered the swings. I just love the swings and the decorations are cute. The cashier was nice and personable. Nothing amazing but also nothing bad. If you're in the neighborhood stop by.

Yelp
Right down the street from the medical campus, I walked over for breakfast one day and the breakfast sandwich was delicious! I just wish they had more options of bagels. I also had some baklava and it was okay - pricey for what it was but still good! I'll definitely try some lunch!
google avatar

Raina A.

Yelp
4.5/5 I got the iced caramel apple tea latte which was absolutely DELICIOUS!! Not too sweet and a perfect blend of flavours. Tasted like autumn! about $5.50 I also got the lox bagel which was amazing. I knocked half a star because it could have used more salmon but nonetheless it was absolutely delicious! $11 The interior is sooo cute! Great cafe!
google avatar

Christopher S.

Yelp
I have been here before, and frankly I cannot recall what my experience was like, but I have some further thoughts. If I'm expected to pay a tip, the least they could do is bring the order to the table; especially since I'm handicapped. That bitchery aside, the food (lox sandwich) was delicious and the chai latte was one of the best I've had. I'm afraid to try the Turkish coffee for some reason, maybe someday I'll get over it. Then there was the baklava - holy crap was it delicious!!
google avatar

Leah W.

Yelp
I got a blueberry muffin and the Iced Baklava Latte (made with honey and pistachio syrup). Both are delicious! The barista was super nice and helpful. He recommended pistachio milk as a milk alternative and it really takes the coffee to the next level. The vibe of the coffee shop is super cute and has fun plants and signs to take pictures with. The seating is unique (swings, couch, etc) and they have a clean restroom. The cafe is wheelchair accessible and offers a ramp to get from the first floor to the "step up" to where you order. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
I've visited Penny's twice now, and both experiences have been fantastic. A few weeks ago, my friend and I stopped by for lunch since we're interning nearby, and it was a lovely walk on a nice day. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and a blueberry latte (unfortunately, no pictures), and I have to say, the latte was one of the best I've ever had from a coffee shop. I usually make my own at home because I'm picky about the taste, but they absolutely nailed it! The wrap was also delicious, and I'll definitely be returning for lunch soon. Since it's my birthday month, Penny's sent me a $5 birthday coupon--thank you, Penny's!!! So, I decided to grab a quick breakfast to go today. The employees were super nice and took the time to explain the seasonal coffee specials, which I really appreciated. I ordered the strawberries and cream cold brew (summer seasonal flavor) and a plain bagel toasted with strawberry cream cheese. Although I'm not usually a big fan of cold brew, this one was amazing. You can't beat the vibes of this place, either; it's beautifully set up, and I can definitely see myself studying here during the school year. Cheers to Penny's! I highly recommend everyone give it a try:)

Yelp
Food was OKAY, but the coffee was great. (I love strong coffee) There was a small indoor patio that felt like an outdoor patio. The service was good, quite quick for the order, but I was half way done with my coffee before the food came out. Overall, nice place. I recommend it, but the loks sandwich was FISHY.

Anthony S.

Yelp
Penny's Coffee Shop is a must stop. Came here to start the day off and absolutely loved it. Food is delicious, it took a bit of time due to how busy they were today but that never took away from the quality of what they were serving. The coffee was great. It was my first time having Turkish coffee so I don't have much to compare it to but it tastes and smelled amazing, and lastly the ambiance is impeccable. This place is lovely and I would love to come again!

Yelp
Penny's is a great little coffee shop in Allentown near the medical campus. It seems to be a comfortable place to do a little work or visit with friends. They have traditional coffee and tea drinks and a variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches and pastries. Many dishes have a Mediterranean regional cuisine twist. Our favorite items are the lox bagels, the BLT with garlic sauce sandwich, and the pistachio latte made with pistachio milk. What a fabulous drink the pistachio latte is. You should try one immediately. The shop is clean and has cute decor and colorful signage displaying the menu items and specials.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is so perfect. Great decor. I'm drinking my latte in porch swing listening to great music. The service was great and the latte is even better.

Yelp
Came by for a work meeting and stayed to grab a bite. I wanted to sample a bit of what they had to offer so I got a sandwich, blueberry muffin, and a hot beverage. Everything was really delicious.l! Not being a huge coffee drinker, I got one of their seasonal 'spring fever' drinks, which was called 'Cup of Sunshine'. This was a house-made Golden milk that was sweetned with honey. The chicken pesto panini ($14.95) was very delicious and came with chicken pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, and mozzarella on focaccia bread. It came with a little salad as well. And the blueberry muffin ($3.50)was a large delicious blueberry muffin, haha! I also really enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the place and it had a variety of seating options, including a pair of porch swings (probably not the best for drinking a hot coffee though lol)
google avatar

Vicky B.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast on a Sunday and enjoyed the smoked salmon toast and coffee. Everything about the toast was delicious! The atmosphere here is also very welcoming and cute, with table seating, seating along the window, and an adjacent room that's a cute space for a photo op. Ordering was quick but it took my food quite a while to come out. However they were very busy that day which may have been the reason why my food took awhile.

Yelp
This place is gorgeous! We came on a Saturday morning before 9am and there were plenty of places to sit (I will say when we left around 9:15 it was getting crowded at the counter to order) The staff taking orders was so sweet to my toddler and gave him stickers which he loved. I got an iced mocha and my husband got the Turkish coffee. To eat we got a bagel, bagel with lox and my Toddler got a muffin. All great.
google avatar

Jen E.

Yelp
Finally got to Penny's. They serve food, wine, and coffee and other drinks including Turkish coffee. The owners were so nice. We tried one of their pizzas and it was so good, with a unique Middle Eastern twist. Really nice atmosphere. Two area to sit. It looks like they really notice all the details in their business.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute place! Love the ambiance and the decor. A good variety of baked goods and sandwiches.
google avatar

Hannah H.

Yelp
I'm so in love with this place! It's in the perfect spot and is super cute. The menu is extensive and the food is great. We got paninis, the herb bread really made it the perfect sandwich. I got this backlava latte, the barista even made a little heart. I can't stop thinking about it. Tasted just like backlava, if you love things with almond paste like me it reminded me a bit of that.
google avatar

Erika S.

Yelp
Love this hidden gem. Super friendly staff and decor. Love that they have a full menu of different drinks to try, along with various options for flavors. I mixed and went with the Honey and Lavender Chai- delish! If you don't like your drinks super sweet, I would suggest cutting the amount of syrup used in half.

Chris M.

Yelp
Baklava latte was exactly what I was hoping it would be. Great recommendation from the gentleman at the counter who also steered me to the chicken pesto panini. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor but disappointed by the portion size (forgot to capture an image of this). Nonetheless this is such an ideal coffee spot for the location with a well decorated interior.
google avatar

Shannon M.

Yelp
Came on a recommendation and it did not disappoint. My hot mocha was delicious and my boo's drip coffee was good. This may be the cutest coffee shop in Buffalo. The themed decor is inviting and comfy. I would come here just to hang out, grab a good cup of coffee, and take cute selfies.

Julia G.

Yelp
very nice little place with a great menu! Service is great and never takes too long. Highly recommend a blueberry toasted marshmallow iced chai latte! 10/10 coffee shop
google avatar

Alisa T.

Yelp
The lack of effort in this $10 piece of toast is honestly COMICAL. Not only was the service incredibly slow but just look at this. Am I crazy or is this the most pathetic avocado toast you have ever seen? I get that it was takeout and the tomatoes falling off I understand but come on guys. Edit: just came back to say I took a bite and the avocado is completely unripe at all. I didn't think this could get any worse honestly
google avatar

Julie C.

Yelp
A gem! A rare find! Great study spot! Entering the store I thought I teleported - how is this Buffalo?! The store is spacious, extensive seating, variety of seating options (even a swing)... It was super packed on a Saturday early afternoon but no trouble to find seating. There's WiFi and limited outlets, great study spot as the music isn't too loud (high ceilings) and super bright lights even if there is no sun. The tables were sturdy and large. The affogato was delicious but if I'm being picky I'd say the ice cream was probably freezer burned (icy)...the expresso was very decent! Such a cute cup as well.
google avatar

Miguel V.

Yelp
The food was decent. I had a basic breakfast of a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel, accompanied by a cappuccino. The service was quick since we were the only customers in the place. The ambiance of the restaurant was great--cozy and inviting.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
Coffee was excellent as well as the ambiance. Serve was great as well. The food on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired. The avocado toast is literally just sliced avocado on bread with some tomatoes thrown in for a 10$. No love or effort at all. Save your self some money and just come for the coffee and vibes.
google avatar

Rebecca L.

Yelp
Wowww best bagel in WNY. So bomb! They toasted it perfectly and their scallion herb creamed cheese *chefs kiss*. The coffee was very fragrant for all the coffee snobs out there and yay they have almond milk! I also got their Nutella croissant. Sooo bomb too. Super cute inside and prices are extremely reasonable. Service was excellent, friendly staff. Also love that they open at 7am. Thank you!
google avatar

Yelp
Penny's is a comfy and adorable coffee shop. It's quite earthy as well. The swinging benches and back drop photo opp are a fun touch. The Turkish coffee is absolutely yummy which I was surprised by because normally I only enjoy flavored coffee. I did get it with sugar. I've had the iced chai latte and baklava latte with pistachio milk. Both are yummy. The coffee art in my baklava latte was fun and made me smile. The baklava itself is expensive for the tiny portion. It's about the the size of a quarter. It is good though. I've had the avocado toast twice. The first time I had it, it was substantial for $9. The second time, not so much. The oatmeal raisin cookie is divine. It's very slow service, so come when you have time. I definitely recommend Penny's and will be back.
google avatar

Courtney W.

Yelp
The food was just ok, nothing special. The person that took our order had a bad attitude and was impatient when we were placing our order, but the drinks we got were amazing! This is definitely a cozy place with not a lot of seating, but a pretty chill atmosphere. I don't know if I would come back
google avatar

Sydney M.

Yelp
Overall I really liked this place! The inside is pretty big and the decor/seating is perfect. All of the workers were super friendly and gave us recommendations. I got the baklava latte which was a specialty latte, and the cheese panini with the side salad. My sister and I also tried the Turkish coffee. The Turkish coffee was okay, we did it more to try it than anything else. The salad was simple, but good, with mixed greens and balsamic. I think they definitely could have added more cheese to the panini, especially if the panini is just going to have that. The latte was incredible though. I will definitely be coming back for more lattes!
google avatar

Yelp
With so many coffee places in Buffalo, including franchises, it's hard to stand out. My husband found this place by chance and saw on their website that they were doing a "Turkish coffee class." We attended, and it was such an amazing class. The owner showed us how to make traditional Turkish coffee, along with the history behind the preparation method. We had the chance to make our own as well. The coffee was paired with delicious baklava and Turkish jellies. My husband was thrilled to learn they sold their own Turkish coffee, and we bought a bag along with other goodies. The entire staff was extremely knowledgeable and beyond friendly. We were greeted and given reccomdations on customizing our coffee based on taste. To finish with how I started this review: "With so many coffee places, it's hard to stand out." This business stands out not only in the coffee selection but customer service as well. I will definitely be coming back again!
google avatar

Yelp
Penny's is everything you want in a coffee shop. The staff was very helpful and answered a few questions I had. The drinks were delicious!!! I got a drip coffee with cinnamon brown sugar syrup-- perfect amount of sweetness and you really get all the flavor. Also got a "love potion" (valentines special) which is a lavender honey latte-- again, perfect amount of sweetness (sweeter than the coffee but that what I would expect from the flavors)-- comforting & cozy! The actual shop is adorable. There are tables to sit and a little pergola (?) with bench swings that gives a nice aesthetic. Would recommend!
google avatar

Deb K.

Yelp
My daughter and I went for the wine tasting event. Excellent wine! I also had a Lattee which I will definitely be back for. We split a pumpkin cream cheese muffin, it was very moist and fresh. Ended up taking a French toast muffin home to split tomorrow. Looking forward to coming back here!
google avatar

Robert P.

Yelp
Small little establishment pumping out good Turkish coffee ,sandwiches, pastries, smoothies ect. The coffee was very enjoyable with what I would describe as a chocolate flavored taste to it. I enjoyed watching the coffee making process and for 3$ a cup I couldn't help myself so I bought two cups. If around the area stop on in.
google avatar

Tommy D.

Yelp
I won't be going back here again. I ordered a cream cheese bagel and a large latte. I watched them make a bunch of people's drinks who ordered after me and the staff was all together disorganized. The bagel with cream cheese barely had any cream cheese on it and wasn't worth it. Even though it took a long time, the latte was delicious and why I didn't rate them lower.
google avatar

Allison F.

Yelp
I was really happy with my coffee and sandwich. I met a friend here it was her suggestion and I really liked it ! I got an iced cinnamon latte and the blt sandwich. Coffee was really good! The sandwich was on big thick bread which was delicious I would say if you don't want to have garlic breath the rest on the day maybe don't get it but I was ok with it. It was also a really esthetic place, very cute!

Anano N.

Yelp
I was at Penny's coffee shop the other morning and it was such a delightful experience. The staff were super friendly and nice; they were kind enough to take their time and explain their menu to me. I got a matcha latte and a lox bagel. Trust me, the lox bagel was one of the best I have ever had in my life. The atmosphere is super calm and cozy. 10/10 would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Jenna P.

Yelp
We enjoyed the Turkish coffee and chai latte but we wouldn't recommend the breakfast sandwiches at this point. They're prepared, frozen egg patties that were over cooked and hard on the edge. I'm hoping this still very new business improves the eggs. We will be back to find out.
google avatar

Greg O.

Yelp
It was packed as there was an event going on but service was still pretty quick. You order at the counter and they call you when it's ready. Had an iced coffee and a lox bagel sandwich. Both were really good.
google avatar

Jacqueline M.

Yelp
The service is too slow. The Turkish coffee is delicious and authentic. I don't recommend this place for desserts. At last minute and after wait a long time they told me they didn't have cheesecake so they just want to "exchange" so at the end I got something else even I didn't was sure and I didn't like it. I'd love if they have more options. I love the decoration !! It's my fave place for brunch pictures you should try!
google avatar

Mark D.

Yelp
This little cafe is located downtown on the corner of Allen and Main. Parking isn't bad, though it depends on the time of day. This cafe is also located a two minute walk from the Allen-Medical Campus train station. This is a good place to meet friends and grab a coffee, a muffin, or a light breakfast. When we visited on a Sunday, a majority of the patrons were college students working on their papers. We stopped by as this is the only place in the Buffalo area where you can have Turkish coffee cooked with heated sand. They also sell the Ibrik (copper pot to make coffee) for $15. For price comparison, I purchased my ibrik on ebay from Turkey for around the same. The coffee and food options are well priced. If you are in the area and looking for some good coffee, a chill vibe, good friendly employees, to support local business, and also to have some unique Turkish coffee (or any other of their options), I'd recommend visiting.

Yelp
You guys, I don't know why I didn't go sooner. Penny's is immaculate. She's the type of coffee shop that, if you were walking down the street, you'd look twice at. A stone cold stunner, if you will, in the form of a revamped, historic-looking, brick building. An eye-catcher, to say the least. And that's just the exterior... stepping inside of Penny's, this coffee shop boasts an absurd amount of seating for a mom & pop place. And right in the heart of the city too. Not sure how they swung that move, but here I am with a seat on a busy Sunday! On top of the space & its homey charm, inside & out, there's a clear knowledge of the good stuff here (coffee). Their beans come from the local favorite Tipico Roastery, and their options range from funky, seasonal specials to an out-of-the-ordinary, Turkish coffee to a solid, well-brewed shot of espresso. They've got their coffee situation on lock. Now, I'm afraid I'll have to save the food scene here for another day, because it's almost too much goodness to handle. So, I'll just leave you with this: Bagels. Tirimisu. Salads. Baklava. Shawarma. It's a broad spectrum where quality does not lack. Everything here is done with care & attention. So, to the owners whose names I forgot to ask, you've done an astounding job in the past two years this place has been open. Cheers to many more!
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
Super cute new coffee shop. Bagel was so buttery and delicious, iced coffee and smoothie were great. Quick walk from the medical campus, can't wait to see this place flourish! Welcome and good luck! Can't wait to try their lunch menu and other breakfast options.

Yelp
I found this while searching for new coffee spots to try. Finally visited and absolutely loved this place. This cafe is so cute and cozy with a welcoming vibe as you enter. Place is clean, plenty of seating area and well decorated. We ordered hot matcha and caramel latte, lox sandwich, and bagel with cream cheese. But the reason I visited this place is to try their turkish coffee and forgot to order (I went in line to order again!). Foods and drinks were great and the turkish coffee was top notch and such a unique experience. They can get busy over the weekends, so there's a little bit of wait but worth it! Removed a star off because when ordering, they took our names and when it's ready they called the orders instead of people's name which is kinda confusing. My bf took the sandwich on the pick up area and told it was not ours. Hope this issues can be resolved. Overall service was friendly and welcoming. Visit this place if you want authentic turkish sand coffee. Can't wait to go back!!
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
I love cafes. This one in particular is a cultural experience and very cute inside. They make true Turkish Coffee in very HOT sand, which by the way is my first time indulging in Turkish Coffee. I was invited by a friend to the yelp event, and this got me on board to become a yelp member. This event was great to even socialize with other yelp members, with a common ground of coffee (pun intended). So, if you're looking for a cafe experience that is not your average cup of joe, this cafe is the place for you. The coffee isn't too acidic nor bitter. It is nice and smooth to the pallet. I found it very interesting to watch the coffee being made, being apart of a cultural experience.
