Pensiun Aldier

"If you like your food straightforward and pared down to the essentials without compromising on taste, then you'll love the excellent Engadine cuisine here. In the pleasingly unpretentious restaurant of the charming little hotel of the same name, the dishes forgo any frills and instead focus on select, fresh local produce. Good wines at fair prices. Shorter menu at lunchtime." - Michelin Inspector

The days we spent at the Aldier were wonderful. This elegant hotel with magnificent views is nestled in a beautiful village full of art and Swiss culture. The inhouse restaurant with fresh, local cuisine was of a high quality and professionally presented. The graphic works and sculptures of Alberto and Diego Giacometti housed in the hotel gallery were very impressive. Lisa, the manager as well as the other staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It was the perfect vacation to decompress from our daily work lives. Elaine

Pension Aldier in Sent: where the soft beds hug you back, a little too enthusiastically perhaps, but that’s maybe part of the charm. The breakfast? A spread that could rival a royal feast. Dinner at the restaurant was a pageant of flavors, and the wine - a small but wisely curated choice. The room decor hit the sweet spot between ‘less is more’ and ‘just right’. Every nook of the place whispered elegance, right down to the balcony for a puff under the stars. A tip of the hat to the friendly and mostly efficient service – sometimes asking a question helps a lot. And a parting ‘How was everything?’ wouldn’t have gone amiss.

We loved simply everything in our 6 day stay at this hotel. The silence, the beauty of the place, the very nice beds and cushions, the excellent light food - also for vegetarians, the very nice and attentive staff and owner family. To be sourrounded by art of this quality and a great library all the day it so special. The atmosphere, also with the other guests, is very friendly and refined.|We loved to stay in on grey days and on sunny days there is so much to see and visit in the surroundings. The village Sent has an amazing charme.|We will be back when there will be more snow ....|

What a wonderful stay in Pensiun Aldier! A restored historic building the renovation is tasteful and stylish. Its charming, intimate, well maintained and clean. Also, Sent is one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland and that's saying a lot. For those leaving anything less than a 5* review I can only imagine that they may not understand how expensive switzerland is. Even a 4* hotel closer to st Moritz would be double the cost.||||One other standout is the food. Swiss food on the whole is not as good as Italy or even much in Austria. Not the case here, Eat dinner here, its fantastic. There is no where to go better for miles. ||||Lastly, the general manager, Nadia, and the owner are wonderful, helpful hosts. This hotel is a true gem.

Scent in in-itself is a museum as is the Aldiers. One can feel the special aura of the place with the amazing history. Everything pf the property is authentic and classy with many details to explore such as the library and photographs. The rooms are modern furbished with a balcony offering great views. Breakfast was served by a charming waiter and the food, coffee etc. excellent quality. The owner and the team were nicely connected and giving interesting insights about the venue and history. All in all a fantastic experience not to be missed out.|

What a treat to stay at this gorgeous little hotel. It's rare to find a hotel that is welcoming, stylish and extremely comfortable - but Pension Aldier delivers on all levels. We hated leaving after three nights and just wish that we could have stayed longer. The staff are all extremely nice and welcoming - we all felt very at home after just one day. Our room was really comfortable and most importantly for us, quiet. So often in older hotels, you hear every noise through the walls and doors. No such problems here - the hotel has been renovated to an extremely high standard. We loved the stylish restaurant and all our meals were delicious and tasty, featuring local produce. ||Our stay was enhanced by all the snow and the lovely sunny days - just perfect conditions for outdoor activities. Sent is the most beautiful little town - so it's fitting that it has such a perfect little hotel! We cant wait to return!

Based on all the previous reviews we expected an almost perfect place. Alas, not everything turned that way for us. The building itself is nicely renovated, with much care and quality workmanship; shared spaces are very comfortable, books and artworks everywhere. Our room was small but well appointed; we enjoyed views of the church tower and the surrounding houses. Yet, our stay was somewhat marred by a certain lack of being taken seriously (no advance info about construction in front of the building, no proper welcome nor help with luggage, continuing confusion about Halbpension, no guest card until the third day when we explicitly asked for it, being almost checked out one day earlier than arranged for, etc.) Still puzzled about the reason we were treated this way ...

Pensiun Aldier is housed in a sensitively renovated traditional house a few steps from the village square in Sent. The rooms are stylish with modern furniture and original artwork and prints gracing the panelled walls. The exhibition of Giacometti prints in the basement is definitely worth a visit.||||The restaurant serves interesting and carefully prepared menus and the cosy library offers a great breakfast buffet. The small garden in front of the hotel is the perfect place for a reviving cup of tea after a long walk or to enjoy drinks before dinner.||||The hosts and team at the Aldier are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!
