"In a city replete with LGBTQ-owned coffee shops and roasteries - shout-outs to the stalwart Pinhole and region-wide powerhouse Equator - one stands out for its sheer pluck. A combination art gallery and cafe that isn’t nearly as satanic as its name or address (66 Sixth St.) suggest, Pentacle is a place for queer-punk bike couriers to re-caffeinate on their rounds, especially when venturing into Downtown where nearly all the alternatives are national chains. Walk in and be greeted by a fabulous Art Nouveau mural, too sweet to be called homoerotic, of two mystical-looking men about to smooch. And they say Sixth Street can be a harsh place." - Peter-Astrid Kane

Pentacle Coffee has a small menu that is all about the coffee. However, we were tempted by the waffles (they looked amazing) but we ordered coffee. The coffee was excellent. There is a table and a few stools outside the window on Jessie St since there currently is no indoor seating due to Covid safety. Great coffee shop - will visit again.

Awesome little place! Great coffee, delicious pastries. And Bobby’s a very welcoming host who’s clearly crazy about good coffee. Had a nice chat about SF and high end specialty espresso machines from Amsterdam. :)

Awesome place with good coffee, made with care. Not that shelved out Starbucks stuff. If you have time, head there, get a coffee, enjoy the plants and take in the environment. Even chat with the owner l.

San Francisco has a few real gems among its chaos. I am always swayed when coffee houses have a charming character to them. With many places doing good coffee, it's all about the personality of a space that sets it apart for me. The interiors are fresh with succulent plants all around and is housed along an art house. The combination is classy and inviting. This place has as legit a coffee as any top shop. Along with it I took an Almond honey toast which was made with quality dough and butter.

My favorite new place to get coffee. So much so I go out of my way to have meetings and friendly catch ups there. Bobby is delightful and it feels great supporting a new business by a dedicated longtime San Franciscan. His experience helping start Four Barrell should inform you that this is a delicious pour every time!

The area seems a bit dodgy but this cafe was a surprise find. Aromatic coffee, friendly barista, artsy vibes- it has it all! Definitely will return for the foamy delicious cappuccino!

A nice coffee escape from the surrounding area. Limited seating but good coffee and snacks always makes up for that.

Artist at work... I am simple and like cold brew coffee, black and no sugar. My wife likes to try different latte's, mainly with botanical syrups, but not to sweet. Pentacle has a few eclectic drinks and was, not only a good place to find something unique, a great place to watch the barista create art. The passion the barista put into making the drinks makes the drink that much more enjoyable. They have a pastry counter that offers their own version of pop tarts with a range of ingredients (goat cheese, marmalade, etc.) making Pentacle even more distinct. Not being Pentacle's fault but so many places in SF are accessed by traveling through trashy areas and Pentacle is no different. I walked about a mile to shop here and I had to dodge urine soaked sidewalks peppered with used needles. Not an experience for the masses or families. Oh, BTW, they want to make sure you know to address the staff with gender neutrality (see photo of sign on the counter).
