The 23 Best Wine Bars In Paris 2024

"It’s hard to be unassuming on this street overflowing with tourists in Saint Germain-des-Prés, but this spot manages to play it cool with both a nondescript facade and by being actually cool (it’s located in a 14th-century former wine cellar). Pick from a bottle along the wall and pay the €10 corkage fee, or ask for a glass of whatever’s open that day. That might be a mineral-y white from the Savoie—“natural, but not funky,” the owner may say—or an earthy Gamay from the Loire. Then, head downstairs to drink your wine like a Lannister in Game of Thrones." - sara lieberman

Pépites - Review - Saint-Germain-des-Prés - Paris - The Infatuation

"It’s hard to be unassuming on this well-trodden rue overflowing with tourists in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, but this spot manages to play it cool with both a nondescript facade and by being actually cool (literally—it’s located in a former 14th-century wine cellar, which makes it the perfect place to escape one of Paris’s canicules, or heatwaves). Pick from a bottle along the wall and pay the €10 corkage fee, or ask for a glass of whatever’s open that day. That might be a mineral-y white from the Savoie (“natural, but not funky,” says the owner) or an earthy gamay from the Loire. Then, head downstairs to imbibe like you’re a Lannister in Game of Thrones. If an underground vault of sorts isn’t your thing, you can stand around the tile bar upstairs where a giant projection screen occasionally shows sport matches, or take a bottle to go for a picnic along the quai or Jardin du Luxembourg." - Sara Lieberman

Lovely shop; we were received enthusiastically by both staff members (and their dog :) , who gave us their time and genuine recommendations. The selection is full of special wines from organic French producers. We loved what we picked up!

After our evening wine tasting plans fell through, we found ourselves at Pepites where we had bought a bottle of wine earlier in our vacation. Thibaut was so wonderful and gracious!! We were the only ones in the basement wine tasting area, and Thibaut made the evening very special. He chose wines based on our taste, and had a cheese board that paired so well with them. Thibaut wasn't expecting to do a wine tasting that night, but he, and everyone else at Pepites, made the evening perfect for us. Thank you so much!

Update July 2025 Went back. Met Thibaut. His partner and Grenache. Went back both evenings We spent in Paris. Had the most amazing wine. Again. See you next year. Update July 2024 Went back. Met Thibaut, his partner and their dog Grenache. Had great wine and good conversation. And I went back after 4 days. Thibaut is the epitome of good service. Had some good wines - both my wife and I. We went for lunch but they don’t serve lunch. Thibaut (hopefully I got that right) the owner, recommended another place without a flinch. And that place is amazing. Thank you.

A very cute place with large wine selection and very nice service. A few small bites. It’s small so you may have to wait for a table. We waited only a few minutes tonight but I’ve definitely passed by when it was packed and I just kept going. Glad I got a chance to try it and I’d go back for sure.

This place rocks and what an amazing vibe! The owners are wonderful, the staff is great and the regulars are like family. Love, love, love. By the way, amazing wines and sides are served too... This place is simply wonderful. A must place to experience if you're anywhere close to Paris :-)

The staff was not at all friendly. On ground floor bar, there were no stools nor any seats! So, I went to their cave which has 2 tables with comfortable sofas. When I arrived it was empty but they would not allow me to sit at the sofa as we were 2, and they said its for 4. Also, no signal nor Wifi in cave so I cannot communicate on my phone. These are easy to fix but when I suggested, the staff just rebutted.

Came here to catch up with a good friend over a bottle. Very nice basement even if a bit too intimate if other clients are there. The staff was very helpful in guiding us to the bottle we wanted. Would happily return!

Me and my girlfriend stumbled across this wine bar while visiting Paris, it was our highlight from the trip! All the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. We even got lots of helpful info about wine, food, culture and the tourist traps to avoid from Marianne. Great food, amazing wine and a really nice atmosphere! One of the best things is that there’s something for everyone. There’s really good affordable wines that are about €19 a bottle! But also expensive wine if you’re into that. Just tell them what you like and they will find a bottle for you! Everyone was so welcoming to us. Ps. I never leave reviews so it’s well worth it trust me!
