Peppas Jerk Chicken

Ordered via Ubereats. Got the Mac and cheese with Oxtails with a side of cabbage. Jerk chicken 🍗 with Jerk sauce and BBQ sauce (paid extra for the sauce). I didn’t get the sauce or cabbage, it never came. I hate ordering and it’s not complete, why not take time to read, each order varies. Would I order again, NO‼️Sauce makes the chicken and the fact that stores don’t let anything go price wise, this was a disappointment.

I am so glad find this Down to earth restaurant opening at the neighborhood. They have fresh family meals made every day. Food is delicious. So many options like oxtail, fish, chicken and veggies. I highly recommend red snapper that is so crispy outside and juicy inside. Taste like home. Not to mention the service is superb and they offer delivery! I recommend everyone for every day meals.

In town visiting family and found this local gem. Given my Caribbean roots, I know good Caribbean food when I taste it, and this place is legit. Yes, it's a tad on the pricey side, but you won't be disappointed by your meal.

Several weeks ago a delivery person from UBER EATS stole half of my order. I was obviously bothered by this. I called Peppa’s on Franklin Ave to report the delivery guy. A wonderful woman named TAMARA told me not to fret, that she would replace the stolen food. TAMARA was calming, patient, kind, and most of all PROFESSIONAL. Thank-you to TAMARA and the rest of the staff. And yes….!!! The food is fresh and tasty….!!!! GET THE FESTIVALS……!!!!

They server us spoiled chicken. The chicken tasted rotten covered under BBQ and jerk sauce. It is a health hazard to serve spoiled food, it can literally kill someone. Not cool

I came in to pick up an order but the guy (owner?) refused to serve me and won't give me the order. I waited 10 min. and finally another old lady came and gave me a tiny burger size container with some rice and a piece of chicken in it (see picture). Not what I paid for ($16). Either the guy was racist (he's black and I'm Asian) or he had a bad day. But not the way to treat a customer. I know because I'm 70. Won't never go there again. Horrible service, horrible experience. But there's a surprise ending: I went back to my car and was blocked by an ice cream truck. I waited for 10 min and was upset. Then the young driver came back with dinner he just bought near by. Nicely apologized. Then he said, "Hey want a cone?" I was surprised and said yes. He went to the back and made me an ice cream cone. We both laughed and went our separate way. It cheered me up and THAT's a great way to treat someone, especially when you made a mistake!

Great food , the place it’s clean And customer service was great and they open until 2 am I really recommend

The cabbage taste like chemicals. The rest of the food is bland Only ate the salmon because it was tolerable What are they serving people?? Go to Lemon Grass across the street Pic of the cabbage in garbage Sorry , not sorry

this was my first time having oxtail in ny - granted i ordered it through doordash so i was only expecting so much but this was not very good. not much meat on the oxtail itself. the pasta on the side was very bland & dry while the rice was not good either with little to no gravy. don't think ill be coming back anytime soon.

This place opened some months ago but is three Caribbean spots on Franklin within a block so I never tried it but today they had the jerk chicken smelling all the way down Franklin so I had to stop. I finally did and I was pretty glad. I don't know why they have two stars. I just took one off one star off for the customer service. They're not that friendly at all so the food will have to make up for that. One lady was nice who made my plate but everyone else has frowns lol The jerk chicken was nice and smoked flavor all the way through. I got a ton of gravy they have festival And on Sunday they have cow foot soup which I'm willing to try. Also it was very flavorful and it was only $13 bucks for a medium & a dollar for festival and they give you a lot stop by you won't regret it.

It seems like every time I place an order with this place, they always mess it up. I specifically tell them every-time I place an order not to give me any gravy on my rice, but they literally do the opposite every-time. My girlfriend do not eat oxtails so why would they continue to put oxtail gravy on her food. Tonight is my last night ordering from them. I've been loyal to them ever since they open up but it's getting ridiculous at this point.

Sadly, I will never order from this establishment again. I ordered a side of macaroni salad, and it sent to me in a piece of balled up aluminum foil. My second order I asked for potato salad and it was squashed together with my HOT RICE. I took the short on that order, and didn't eat it. My question is who is overseeing these people sending out these orders? I have been to most of the other locations and had No Problems. I love to support Black Businesses, but this is unacceptable. If you want continued support, you've got to do better.

Pappas was always a good place to get some good jerk. Hicken, and apparently, this is not the place. Server or owner.. was not ei t her not liking us or have no people skill. Customer service .. is the keys to your success business. And now i know why they got the lowest rating because they are.. I got a small portion of food, and it cost me $$. The place looks teriible, not clean leave, which flew in from outside. Not even sweep it clean. I hope i dont get sick from the food.sorry, i try... am not recommend at all.... From previous review. Yes.. it like being racis again asian. Wow.. so disappointed. Pappas is a chains restaurant. Owner like this. Is giving me a bad experience....

Great jerk chicken! There are three other Caribbean restaurants before I get to this one. I pass them all because I like Peppas best!!!

Tried it when it first opened and it was bad... tried it again on July 28th 2024 and it was even worse!! The cabbage tastes like chemicals. No distinction on what chemicals, just chemicals. What are they feeding people?

do not recommend it's a new spot but after I ate their curry goat I felt nauseous and i currently still feel nauseous as I'm typing this.
