I’ve been here quite a few times and they have never disappointed me! I’ve had the tortellini Matthew multiple times and it will definitely remain a favorite dish! The restaurant is pretty big so there is plenty of places to sit. The staff have always been friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back and I heavily recommend giving this place a try!

Google
We really enjoyed our meals at Peppercorn’s Grill & Tavern. The steak medallions/mushroom risotto were a hit! The smash burger and bolognese were also great! We didn’t really enjoy the chicken croquet appetizer, although we thought we would have.

Went here Thursday, May-1-2025, with my Aunt and Mom and Dad, and we had lunch here . My 1st time eating here , our waitress Olivia was super friendly , very kind, and so sweet! Olivia had a smile on her face and was extremely helpful! We all enjoyed our food , the only disadvantage was that in our selection me and my family and I were literally the only people on that side of the restaurant. It wasn't super busy, and it was a long wait for the food. We ordered the Lunch Fish & Chips and Grilled Chicken Sandwich and The Lemoncello Cheesecake for dessert. The cheesecake was on the smaller side for the cost. But quite tasty. Wish it was a bit bigger. The men's bathroom was very clean. The issue was they didn't have any soap. Great food and excellent experience and good service! I would highly recommend peppercorns .there is food quite good ! I had peppercorns once at a function I'd attended years ago it was delicious than and still is. Thank you, Olivia, for making our experience an excellent one!

Every time I visit Peppercorns I am impressed with the food and service. The restaurant is large and welcoming, warm with nice lighting. The decor has a lot of Worcester paintings and photos of local spots, as well as really captivating old photos of long ago Worcester. There is a large main dining room, a bar that is fun and friendly, but not too loud, and function rooms in areas of varying sizes. The staff is friendly and helpful and responsive. There always seems to be a host desk and unlike many hosts at restaurants, the staff here is friendly. The waitstaff is well trained and fast. Our server today noticed we were avoiding meat and helpfully mentioned there was bacon in the brussel sprouts. The food is delicious. I be never had anything bad and the servings are good sized. They offer discounted lunch portions and specials. There is a large cocktail menu and wine selection. Some seasons they have sales and promotions. The menu is large and varied, with kid fair, fish and chips and pizza, as well as chicken piccata, good fish and beef. The chefs specials are unique and tasty. They really know how to pair interesting flavors.

Google
Ordered the double down beer cheese dip with potato chips and pretzels. They were terrible! The chips were bendable and the pretzels not as advertised. They are not pretzel sticks, they are the rounded edges cut off a normal pretzel. Which I wouldn’t be too mad about aside from the fact that there was one crumb of salt and they were so hard they could be cut up to go in trail mix. The cheese was fantastic though. Overall my first experience with this place and I will never order from there again. I can not believe the chef let this dish leave the kitchen. On a side note my friend got the corn chowder and said it was good.

Google
Me and my friends visited Peppercorns on a Saturday afternoon, the place was packed , that only means one thing , food slaps . Big bar , friendly and quick responsive staff , a lot of beer options . Started off with the baked goat cheese , creamy delicious goodness on a perfectly toasted bread, I personally had the smash burger with sweet potato fries , the burger was phenomenal and the fries crispy , my friends food looked delicious especially the brisket grilled cheese , I’ll definitely be back for that one Finding parking might be a issue as it is a small parking lot

Google
5 stars in every direction. I had hands down, the best service I’ve had in YEARS. My table ordered a slurry of appetizers and we were FAR from disappointed. My favorite app was the baked goat cheese…the pesto and tomato’s balanced the dish perfectly and the roasted bread was BURSTING with flavor as well! The Shanghai salad WAS MY FAVORITE item of the day, with zero complaints on any of the other items! Crunch, creamy(avocado), bites of heat from jalapeño-the sauce was also worth RAVING about! The quirky appetizer video on the website, highlighting their moz sticks, slider and pulled pork Tex mex nachos served on POTATO CHIPS was just a taste of the warmth this location offers. Great staff, great food, great value and great for all ages! My company and I both drove over an hour to try it out, and WILL BE RETURNING. Keep up the great work team!

Yelp
A couple of my friends and I will gather at Peppercorn's when we are all in the Woo around lunchtime. I've been coming here off and on for around 10 years. I regret not getting a photo of the corned beef shepherd's pie which was on the menu for St. Patrick's, but it disappeared quickly. The service is good and the booths are spacious. The brave folks must try "The Hand of the King" at least once.

Yelp
This place is interesting, I came here once as a child and recently returned with my own child. The staff were nice. The atmosphere was similar to an TGI Fridays. We had a reservation for 5pm on a Thursday. There were 5 of us. There was plenty of space so a reservation may not have been necessary. They do have a nice kids menu, they have many options, kids cups, and it's loud enough in there that kids aren't heard so you're not too worried. I got the buffalo chicken tenders to start, and Thai chicken lettuce wraps. They were both good. I then got the chicken parm with angel hair pasta. It was good. We got our child the kids pizza with pepperoni - it was like a large pizza, so I would recommend sharing it. Overall it was good.

Yelp
Had an amazing dinner during Worcester Restaurant Week at Peppercorns Grille and Tavern in Worcester! I started with the salad, while my friend ordered the lobster bisque. For mains, I went with the lobster roll, complete with candied bacon, coleslaw, fried pickles, & fries. The chef's hand included a massive piece of swordfish with fingerling potatoes & salad. Desserts were frozen strawberry cheesecake and chocolate chip bread pudding - everything was delicious and the service was top-notch! Great value for $29.95!

Danelle L.

Yelp
The waitress was awesome catered to our needs. The food was delicious. We made a reservation and they held onto it. We got there early and they let us in as soon as we got in the service was excellent. I will definitely be going again and I am very full.
google avatar

Connie B.

Yelp
Loved the new decor, although the interagation spot lights over the booths could be a bit dimmer. Disappointed with the lobster chowder, should be called the essence of lobster, not a spec of lobster in the soup. Our server, Sue, was delightful! Really on the ball. Overall, been a favorite dining place for years. Will definitely go again...

Yelp
Calling all beer and food lovers, Peppercorn's is a true oasis as they opened in Worcester in 1995 and after a huge renovation in 2009, opened an attached brewery incubator that launched Wormtown, Flying Dreams and current resident, Double Down For dinner, I enjoyed the Steak Marcos that was easily the most tender, delicious steak I have ever had! A dry rubbed bistro filet with a bourbon glaze served over a bed of mushroom risotto. For dessert, I so enjoyed the homemade cheesecake made with Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey with an Oreo Crust that was heavenly on it's own but the cherry on top was the beer pairing - Dublin Down, a sweet chocolate stout brewed in collaboration with famed Irish Brewmaster Fergal Murray (known for his involvement with Guinness for 20+ years). While you're there, strike up a conversation with of their many regulars to see how this place brings a close community feel to the second largest city in New England over food, drinks and their stellar hospitality!

Yelp
The fig butternut pizza was exceptional, my wife commented it was the best pizza she ever had! The double down beer cheese dip was also exceptional. The crispy chicken fontina was good and my son was unimpressed with the four cheese nac & cheese. Draft Winter Lager and Irish Stout were great too! Service was exceptional and ambiance was good.

Yelp
Peppercorns is a restaurant attached to a brewery, very close to Clarke University. We went for very late lunch and sat in the bar area because there was a very large loud party in the dining room. I ordered the chicken, avocado salad and it was very good. My husband ordered one of the specials. It took a while for our food to arrive, and at first my husband's order was entirely wrong. His actual dish arrived soon after. In a nutshell, food was very good, but service could have been better.

Yelp
Food excellent Service superb Pleasant dining room Will be returning soon Dessert was delicious

Yelp
They are consistently really good! We have been ordering take out from here at least once a month for a few months now. Their chicken and pasta dishes are always made perfect and their steak tips are perfectly tender and flavorful. My kids love their cheeseburgers and the kids mac n cheese without the breadcrumbs. We have also tried their spicy chicken sandwich which was way better than one you would get at any fast food place! Their desserts are also really good. Their cinnamon ice cream with their chocolate decadence or cheesecake roulade are the perfect ending to any of their meals - and don't skip it or you will regret it!

Yelp
10/11/2023 I apologize in advance for the poor photos. Nice location with a cool but casual vibe. Plenty of choices on the menu but not too many. Appetizers we had the Risotto Balls, tasty I would say good just not to the great level. They had a calamari plate served on a bed of pickled jalapeños, black olives and tomatoes, every part of it was excellent! Entree #1 Nashville Chicken Sandwich, very tasty but definitely not "Nashville" style, not heat or dip in hot sauce. Entree #2 Tortellini Matthew, tasted like home made tortellini, excellent sauce and properly cooked chicken Giving a 5 star, really a 4.5 but I don't want to hurt a place when they do it right. Server was excellent too!!!
google avatar

Deb E.

Yelp
So my daughter attends school nearby and we met her for lunch. 3 of us got the brisket grilled cheese and I got a smash burger w the BEST sweet potato fries. They were so hot and delicious. Actually all the food was delicious and the portions so large that we all brought home leftovers! The service was on point and it was a pleasant atmosphere. It was pretty empty when we got there but filled up fast! Would recommend for sure!

Yelp
Food was excellent tonight but the service and greeting from the tall fella at the desk did not represent the years of service and warmth that I have previously experienced. And the young waitress said it's my choice to not come back...absolutely not it's what I was dishes with the lack of warmth and enthusiasm. I will spend my hard earned money with those that appreciate my business. In the past we have had functions and celebrations. I'll look for a new neighborhood spot.

Clayton N.

Yelp
Very good food. 3 stars is because the staff and service were terrible. In particular the manager and bar tender were very unfriendly

Tanya E.

Yelp
Wish they had more vegetarian options / they don't change the price if you order a pasta dish / or salad without the meat.

Yelp
Just attended a small function at Peppercorns. Wow. We had three buffet entrees and the same number of sides. While the potatoes were ok, the chicken fontina, steak tips, and Alfredo were top notch. Cocktail service was attentive and fast with just enough personality. The maitre'd was invisible but he ran a good room. The place is well kept. No off odors or dusty shelves. Nice decor, but not overdone. Will definitely be coming back for a date or family night.

Yelp
Peppercorn's has been our favorite restaurant for over 20 years. Have had family parties here and everything. Excellent service and food. Dinner last night did not disappoint. My husband had the Chef's Special, which was ceab cakes on grilled romaine. My in-laws both had the pistachio crusted haddock and I had the pretzel crusted chicken. Our server was excellent as well. There's only one issue we had. They've always served complimentary bread with olive oil. When the server asked if we wanted bread we said yes. It was the same bread they always served but with garlic butter as well as the oil. We were shocked when we got the bill and they charged us $6 for the bread. The server never mentioned there was a charge. Had we known, we wouldn't not have paid $6 for such a small side of bread that used to be complimentary.

Yelp

Yelp
This food was pretty good. However my girlfriend's was even better. The service was great and the atmosphere was nice and quiet

Yelp
Great American and Italian food as prepared by a team of Brazilian chefs. As such, the coxinha is a must try appetizer; it sells out every day. Service is always good and the beers from Double Down (same building) add the extra local flavor. I recommend the bar area, but the backroom booths are nice as well.

Kareb O.

Yelp
Moroccan salad had more pita chips than salad. The chips served with the burger were stale chips mixed with fresh chips that were fried in old oil.
google avatar

Helen M.

Yelp
what can one say, their food is prepared well, most of the time the staff is wonderful, just love their selections. Salmon coated with pecans, YUM! the atmosphere is ok, but the food makes up for any negative stuff. Enjoy a great meal, never rushed.

J S.

Yelp
Had time to kill waiting for an appt and decided to grab a quick lunch. Asked my server Jen if the salads were big and she said "very". So I ordered the Shanghai salad which she said was one of her favorites. I get why. It was definitely huge. Served in a long platter rather than a bowl. Great presentation. Delicious Asian flavors and plenty of chicken. Definitely filling. Jenn was attentive without being overbearing. Decent prices. Good little spot

Yelp
We had a lovely meal with our Clarke dinner outside at this restaurant. Our server was charming, helpful and friendly. The food was great

Yelp
We recently tried Peppercorns for the first time. Lovely interior. My mom got the Vegan bowl (13.99)and loved it. I ordered the Pot Roast (15.99), it was very good. My partner ordered the Seafood Etna, he said it was good but dang it was so small he left the restaurant still hungry. All in all it was good, but nothing really wowed us to come back again.
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
Attended a private function here and had a wonderful experience. The room was adequate for 40 people to sit, but hard to move around. Two servers did a fabulous job with drink orders. Buffet was DELICIOUS. Chicken Fontina, Seafood Pasta, Steak Tips, etc. Nothing needed amending with Salt/Pepper- all was hot and wonderful. Lost 1 star for limited bathroom situation and space constraints, but I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
This place is always poppin--and for good reason. So far we've only tried takeout but the atmosphere in the restaurant seem chill. We've walked in to order takeout. They offered to bring the food out once it's all set. Thumbs up to great service. Nashville fried chicken was tasty for sure--but was a bit on the sweeter side. I was hoping it was more spicy. I'll probably try something else next time. Truffle tots is a must. My wife had the chicken and broccoli and she really enjoyed it. Check-in on Yelp and receive $5 off. Enjoy.

June E.

Yelp
My husband and I have been patrons of Peppercorns for a very long time. In fact, we have hosted numerous events there. Last Saturday, we ordered takeout. I chose a chicken avocado salad, which was inedible. Pictured below is the only avocado in the salad. I emailed the restaurant and expressed my displeasure in a very respectful manner. That was one week ago and I have heard nothing. I hesitated to post a Yelp review as we have been long time customers. However, since no one had the courtesy to respond, I am posting here.

Yelp
I stopped at Peppercorn's with a few friends during a trip to Worcester and it did not disappoint! I wanted salad and pasta and was really happy to see that you can order the salad at half the size. Each dish appeared to be well portioned. The staff was attentive and helpful when needed.

Susan M.

Yelp
We went to Peppercorns for a graduation dinner with 7 people. No where on the website, menu, or even the bottom of the receipt was it stated that groups of 6 or more people would be charged an automatic 20% gratuity. This was a bit shocking as the bill was quite substantial, the service was nothing special, and we were crammed into a table that should have been only for four people.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
Unimpressed and disappointed. There is one reason I come here. The cheesecake roulade. Without notice and after receiving conflicting statements from the waiter they changed the ice cream to vanilla. Don't bother wasting the money. This dessert was delicious because of the cinnamon ice cream. The vanilla does nothing for it. First the waiter blamed it on us because we asked for it without him going over the menu, then it was "we ran out of cinnamon" then it was that the distributor was having issues. Then it was well you didn't say you wanted it for the ice cream. Really? Give me a break. How about if you change the menu you tell customers. First time ever we didn't finish the dessert. The Nashville fried chicken was messy and sticky. While it was spicy it was bland. The bun was very good. FYI they now charge for bread..
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
We had the Tuscan Calamari for an appetizer, very yummy. Hubby had Chicken & Broccoli and I had the Tortellini Matthew and they were both very good, the portions were quite big. They do have an option for a lunch sized portion though which we didn't do. Quick service and not a long wait for food, would definitely return
google avatar

Warren L.

Yelp
Disappointing, the portions go down, the prices go up, they run out of stuff and do substitutions but don't tell us in advance. The food was OK, and the service just average. No longer one of our favorites.
google avatar

Jackie M.

Yelp
We love to try new places. Have never heard of Peppercorn's so we stopped in after an afternoon sporting event. Food was delicious. We had chicken& broccoli, prime burger, and the Caesar salad. Ceasar salad was extra delicious, could have been the croutons. My daughter loved the chicken and broccoli and there was plenty of leftover for her to bring back to her dorm. We have been here twice now and I t was just as good the second time. It gets busy on weekend nights (we found out the hard way) so might need a reservation.
google avatar

Michele G.

Yelp
We arrived at peppercorns and was seated immediately. We loved the casual bar area and ordered appetizers. We all enjoyed our appetizers and drinks. The dinners arrived and were steaming hot. Two burgers with the works and fries and two dinners. We so enjoyed the meal and would recommend peppercorns to family and friends. Thanks for making an evening out fun and delicious. Also visited the attached brew store and picked up several glasses. Thanks

Monty M.

Yelp
A great place. They have a brewery right next door called Double Down brewing co. Which is featured at Peppercorns, and they have a great selection of beers and ales from Double Down brewing co, including a good selection of bottled/canned beer. The restaurant holds a nice long bar and bar tables, and a decent sized dining room. Our wait staff was accommodating, and friendly. I got the large pizza, and as far as pizza goes, it is one of the best I've ever had, seriously. Great place, reasonably priced, quality food. A big 5 stars!
google avatar

Tony M.

Yelp
You have to get the Risotto Balls and the Chicken Fortina. The only bad thing about this experience, which is not the restaurant's fault, was the woman next to us flapping her soup coolers the entire time about her rent going up every year eventhough she is the best tenant to ever rent an apartment. Our server, Keelia was amazing and very helpful with the menu and recommendations. We will be back amd hope to have her again.

M L.

Yelp
Fantastic service. Attentive and pleasant server. Food was good some of the dishes a bit too salty for my taste but overall good.

Morris M.

Yelp
We had 21 people upstairs in the function room last week. The food was terrific as was the service. The manager Cathleen was straightforward and organized. Our server Jen was great. We were served buffet-style chicken picatta, pecan salmon and lasagna, and two salads. Accommodations were made for our vegan guests. Drinks were ala carte The desserts were ice cream and some cookies. Overall we didn't feel rushed and the food was really good. Thank you Peppercorn's you exceeded our expectations.
google avatar

Yelp
So creative!! We went to Peppercorn's last night for the second time, and we were thrilled with our experience. We started with an app of Buffalo wings - super spicy, but very good! My wife got the Caprese Salmon Risotto - neither of us had seen or heard of anything like this. The salmon was cooked perfectly and it was such an innovative meal. She loved it, and I loved the bite I took. I got the Nashville Fried Chicken Sandwich with Truffle tots. I would have loved to see the chicken coated in more sauce, but if that's the worst of my complaints, I must have been doing alright. Our waitress was friendly and funny, and she was always attentive to our table. The restaurant itself was a little noisy, but I think the only way around that would be to remove some of the tables which you wouldn't want to do. Overall, a good restaurant we will come back to!

Yelp
Once again I found myself in Worcester during Restaurant Week. I'm glad I arrived at the establishment when I did because in the dining area it was me and one other party of six. When I left, it was hopping! Now to the food and service. The server was quick to the table for my drink order. Then I ordered from the restaurant week menu - lobster corn chowder which was an acceptable chowder (at least with clam chowder, you know you get clams because they can be chewy little buggers, the Picanha Na Tabun which was huge, and the mixed berry cheesecake. The picanha was HUGE-a grilled sirloin, sliced, with chimichurri sauce over a bed of grilled peppers and onions. There were also grill asparagus and steak frites. A tremendous amount of food to feed a family of four! Everything was darned good, too. The meat could have been a bit more tender but it was par for sirloin. The cheese cake was fantastic as well. Service was excellent and I'd definitely keep this on my list to try again.

Richard S.

Yelp
This my favorite restaurant in Worcester. Service is outstanding. Food is always fresh and perfect. My go to dish is the Fontina Chicken. Mmmmm. Can't wait for it to cool off a little in the fall and eat outside. Note to owners. Maybe some outdoor heaters to extend outdoor fall dining?

Kiaan M.

Yelp
Pasta was a delightful harmony of al dente texture and rich flavors. The sauce was well-balanced, complementing the pasta without overpowering it. The sandwich, on the other hand, boasted fresh ingredients that contributed to a satisfying crunch and a medley of tastes with each bite. Overall, a pleasant dining experience, blending classic favorites with a tavern's unique touch. The ambience where we sat was ok but the other side looked great . The food service was very slow .

Jonathan B.

Yelp
Our son is attending Clark University and we've eaten at Peppercorns at least four times. The food has been constantly good. We've never had a meal we didn't like. The other big thing for me is the food is delivered "hot". We have not received lukewarm food. When the food is ready it seems to get run quickly to the tables. While not a cheap/inexpensive restaurant, I don't find it expensive either, sort of what things cost these days. I do appreciate that they offer some lunch size portions/pricing for some items. For us, here have been some of the items we've really enjoyed. Pretzel chicken, whisky burger ( can get messy ), brisket grill cheese and chicken param. The service has been generally better than most restaurants. Servers are attentive and available. The chairs are not comfortable in the dinning room and have experienced wobbly tables in the bar area. These two areas do need some improvement. I understand the furniture not being luxury, but I do expect to be comfortable to eat a meal and I didn't find their furniture meeting that need. One of the other big pluses in Worcester is that Peppercorns has parking so it's a little easier than other restaurants in the city where I need to find a place to park. It also a short walk from the Clark campus so on a nice day, can park at Clark and just walk 1 block.

Susan M.

Yelp
Great food. Server was very attentive and friendly. Casual atmosphere with outdoor seating as well.

Kevin M.

Yelp
Whoever changed the menu recently is the biggest idiot in the restaurant industry. How you remove Brazilian chicken coxinha out the menu but keep goat cheese? One of the most seasoned foods yall have and remove it, and put goat cheese ?? If you trying to improve revenue, yall could have done plenty of other things if yall took just a little bit of time to introspect and actually think outside the box. Nothing but goofy decision making
google avatar

Kenny D.

Yelp
I had a solid experience at this grille. They have plentiful outside bench-style seating under a canopy, so it is perfect for bad weather and those who desire better social distancing and fresh air environments. The service was also quite friendly and attentive. I enjoyed the chili shrimp bowl which was bursting with flavor. While I'm not a huge quinoa fan, the combination worked masterfully in this bowl. The only disappointment was they were out of avocado, which normally is in the dish as well. As an avocado fan, this was a bit of a downer on an otherwise enjoyable experience.

Brenda C.

Yelp
We have been there many times and the service and food is always excellent. Can always count on finding something to eat. Being whole food/plant based makes eating out difficult. Thank you. Easy location to get to.

Yelp
I came here for the first time over the weekend and I am SO glad I did! I booked the function room for a surprise birthday party and everything went great. my event was on a Saturday night and I wanted it to be a plated dinner but they told me that if it's Saturday night they can only offer buffet style for private events (understandably so). At first I was disappointed cause I had my heart set on a plated dinner but i'm so glad it ended up being buffet because they gave us SO much food, people went up for seconds & thirds and there was still food left over. We had two waiters tending to us and they were both very attentive and friendly. I unfortunately didn't get to take any pictures of the room and the set up because I was too busy mingling with everyone but I would definitely host another event here if I had to. P.S all the food was amazing, all my guests were talking about how good the food was.
